cat bites

heres something fun, earlier today my cat bit me and now there is an inch long piece of my skin that is very swollen and painful and red on my palm.  

after a few minutes of internet research apparently, cat bites are very infectious and I should see a doctor immediately. 

heres the fun part.

its 3:40 in the morning on a Wednesday and everyone in my house is asleep and my hand hurts like hell and I can’t do anything about it for a few hours which is bad because cat bites can destroy tendons because their dumb stupid little teeth inject bacteria into a part of your body and, because their dumb teeth are so little, the wound closes up and seals the bacteria in.  

I have a very painful closed wound on my palm and I can’t do anything about it for like 5 hours.

I have carpal tunnel syndrome in both of my hands. I’ve been on leave from my job for two months, and in that time neither worker’s compensation or temporary disability have given me a penny. I can’t do any crafts or odd jobs to try to scrape by, either. My income has been zero for two full months. Today when the landlady gave me a 3 day notice to pay or vacate, I wasn’t surprised.

Emotional reluctance aside, I am physically unable to move out of my apartment. I can’t wash dishes or carry a cup of water if it’s too full. Packing up and carrying my belongings to the curb is completely out of the question. But while I can’t grasp or pull/hold things, I can still use a keyboard. 

I have an Associate of Science degree, I’m scientifically literate, and I’m skilled with English; I’m a competent and enthusiastic writer, and I write fan fiction in my free time.
