When Scarlett Johansson joined the Marvel universe all the way back in 2010, she did not have the ability that current actresses in the franchise have now and that is the ability to be seen as a valuable member of the team as opposed to an accessory.
My girl was being sexualised at every single interview, being asked if she wore underwear under her black widow suit and even being groped by interviewers. Natasha’s background was only slightly explored and her fighting style consisted of wrapping her legs around men’s heads in order to further appeal the male audience.
Yelena has the story arc she has and the ability to grow as a character because Scarlett fought for her to when she was producing the Black Widow movie. It makes me so upset that she knew she would never get the superhero experience that the men around her had, so she put aside her own spotlight in order to give Florence the standing that she couldn’t have.
I will not accept Natasha slander because Scarlett put everything she had into that character for a decade and had to go through so much just to be a part of that franchise.

I don’t think the void rooms were trauma rooms; they were shame rooms. Bc if they were trauma rooms, there’s like a bunch of other things that John Walker would have instead of just being a shit dad. He was in the army! And Yelena’s was traumatizing for her, but it’s more of her regrets: she regrets doing that to Anya and she regrets being better than most of the other girls bc they got hurt as an outcome. Bucky has a lot of trauma, and if it were about trauma, we might’ve seen some of his rooms, but bc it’s about shame and he had his whole Wakanda era where he kind of healed, and he’s seeing a therapist, it makes no sense for him to have one because he’s healed; he’s healing and moving on with his life.

As someone who has a bipolar parent and is bipolar themselves, Bob is SUCH an important rep of us. This is SO important to keep in mind. Bob is more than just a silly little guy. He's a grown man with severe trauma and a disorder that millions of people across the globe have too. He can still be the silly guy, just don't infantalize him or take away the disordered parts of him. REAL Bipolar people can't do that. We can't take the disorder out of us.

But there’s a systemic, historic pattern of treating mentally ill folks as children, or incapable.
The situation with Valentina is a metaphor for conservatorship. She handles him, makes decisions for him, all while talking down to him.
Don’t let fandom do that to him, too.
