EN|| Here you can see the last postcard that was left for me to show you from the series I made for the "Power in numbers 7" at @gallerynucleus . Remember it opens this Saturday, September 3rd in Alhambra, CA along with the works of other wonderful artists. In this blue-toned postcard you can see a baby toucan accompanied by funny bees and a curious butterfly between a bunch of branches and leaves.🐝 I recently saw for the first time a video of some adorable baby toucans and I couldn't resist drawing them, with those giant blue eyes! I love discovering new animals such as Goodfellow's Tree-Kangaroos, Atelopus barbotine, Greater Glider, Spotted Skunk, Marbled Polecat, Red cheeked wattle eye, Colugos, Quoll, Siberian Flying Squirrel and many others. I can spend hours looking for endangered animals on the web or watching videos of wild animals!! ES|| Aquí tenéis la ultima postal que me faltaba para enseñaros y que estará en el “Power in numbers 7” en @gallerynucleus este sábado 3 de setiembre en Alhambra, CA junto a las obras de otros maravillosos artistas. En esta postal de tonos azules podéis ver un bebé tucán acompañado de divertidas abejas y una curiosa mariposa. Hace poco vi por primera vez un video de unos adorables bebes de tucán y no pude resistirme a dibujarlos, con esos ojos gigantes y azules!🐝 Me encanta descubrir nuevos animales, como los canguros arborícolas de Goodfellow, el petauro gigante, la mofeta moteada, el turón jaspeado, el batiis carunculado de Blisset, la atelopus barbotini, el colugo, el quoll, la ardilla voladora siberiana y muchos otros. Puedo pasarme horas buscando animales en peligro de extinción o mirando videos de animales salvajes!!

EN|| I hope I'm not being too boring with all this postcard thing but I'd love it if all of you who are in the area, could go to @gallerynucleus on September 3rd and see all my postcards live and why not, buy some of them. It really is a shame it’s so far from my country because I’d personally love to go, be there and see all my postcards and those of all the wonderful selected artists! Today I bring you the entire marine life postcard, with the color tests I’ve been doing during the process next to the postcard. I love seeing the colors I've been testing around the final piece! What do you think? Keep in mind that the postcard is only the painted area since I later cut them to 5”x7”, it’s a unique and original piece (and my favorite one). ES|| Espero no estar muy pesadita con esto de las postales pero me encantaría que, todos los que podáis, fuerais el 3 de septiembre a @gallerynucleus y las vierais en directo y porque no, me comprarais alguna de ellas. Realmente es una pena que sea tan lejos de mi país porque personalmente me encantaría ir y ver todas mis postales y las de todos los demás artistas maravillosos seleccionados! Hoy os traigo la postal de la vida marina entera, con las pruebas de color que he ido haciendo al lado de la postal durante el proceso. Me encanta ver los colores que he ido probando alrededor de la pieza final! Y a vosotros? Pensad que la postal solo es la parte pintada ya que posteriormente las recorté a 5”x7”, además es una pieza única y original (Y mi preferida).

EN|| This year I’ve the pleasure of participating in the collective exhibition “Power in numbers 7” at @gallerynucleus in Alhambra (California, USA) with four original postcards. Here you can see a close up of my favorite postcard “marine wildlife” full of little fish with chubby cheeks and pink lips. I’m a little sad to say goodbye to the piece but I hope it finds a great house where it’s appreciated and loved! Not only it’s my favorite illustration (how can it not be… have you seen the little crab’s eyelashes?!) but I’ve also had a great time painting it, I used watercolors, gouache, polychromos and neocolors.  ES|| Este año tengo el placer de participar en la exposición colectiva “Power in numbers 7” en la @gallerynucleus en Alhambra, California, USA, con cuatro postales originales. Aquí podéis observar un trocito de mi postal favorita, la vida marina, llena de pececitos con mofletes y morritos rosados. Me va a dar mucha penita despedirme de ella pero espero que encuentre una casa genial donde la aprecien! EN|| I’m so excited to share another one of the pieces that will be in @gallerynucleus Power In Numbers 7 collective exhibition alongside a ton of amazing artists! This time is a little snail loving her life surrounded by bees and pomegranades! In this close up you can see next to the illustration the color tests I did while I was painting. 🐌♥️ All the postcards are 5”x7” and made using gouache, watercolor, neocolors, polychromos and watercolor pencils. The show will debut in person only and is cash and carry, meaning once a piece is purchased the buyer takes it home with them rather than be on display the duration of the entire show. ES|| ¡Estoy súper emocionada de compartir otra de las piezas que estarán en la exposición colectiva “Power In Numbers 7” en @gallerynucleus junto a un montón de artistas más! ¡Esta vez se trata de un pequeño caracol que ama su vida rodeado de abejas y granadas! En este primer plano podéis ver junto a la ilustración las pruebas de color que hice mientras pintaba. 🐌♥️ Todas las postales hacen 5”x7” (12.7 x 17.78 cm) y están realizadas con gouache, acuarela, neocolores, polychromos y lápices acuarelables. El espectáculo debutará solo en persona y es “cash and carry”, lo que significa que una vez que alguien compra una pieza, el comprador se la lleva a casa en lugar de estar en la exhibición toda su duración. ¡Cuanto antes vayáis, más piezas podréis ver! ES|| Aquí tenéis el retrato finalizado de la adorable Haizea que seguro que allá donde esté estará corriendo entre la nieve o entre las flores y las mariposas y durmiendo en sofás y camas muy altas, tal y como le gustaba a ella! Es increíble lo mucho que se hecha de menos a estas criaturitas peludas… Ella no vivía conmigo pero sus visitas era maravillosas y seguro que seguiré echando de menos sus miradas pidiendo compañía (o comida!). La verdad es que ya hace bastante que tenia acabada esta ilustración pero hasta ahora no os lo había enseñado, no sé si ha sido por todo el trabajo que tenia entre manos o si no me veía con ánimos para ello… En fin! Espero haber captado toda su belleza y ternura! ♥️ Deseo que os guste! EN|| Here’s the finished portrait of the adorable Haizea who wherever she is I’m sure is running in the snow or among the flowers and butterflies, and sleeping on very high sofas and beds, just the way she loved it! It's amazing how much these furry little creatures are missed when they are gone... She didn't live with me but her visits were wonderful and I'm sure I'll continue to miss her and her looks asking for company (or food!). To tell you the truth it's been a while since I finished this illustration but until now I hadn't shown it to you, I don't know if it was because of all the work I had in my hands or if I didn't have the strength for it... Anyway! I hope I’ve captured all of her beauty and tenderness! ♥️ I wish you like it!

El verano tiene muchísimas cosas buenas, pero hay una que seguro que nadie hecha de menos: el auge de mosquitos con su ruidito amenazador por la noche y sus picaduras a traición. De momento en lo que llevamos de verano he tenido suerte y aún no he tenido una picadura de esas gigantes que se hinchan, se ponen rojas y calientes y pican una barbaridad, pero otros años no he tenido la misma suerte y investigando las plantas, sus propiedades y diferentes remedios naturales, descubrí esta cataplasma natural para estas ocasiones. La receta es muy fácil, solo hace falta triturar y mezclar los siguientes ingredientes (mejor si son de cultivo ecológico i proximidad!): - Copos de avena en polvo o polvo de avena, ya que la avena es muy eficaz contra las inflamaciones de la piel. - Infusión de manzanilla porque la manzanilla posee propiedades antiinflamatorias y analgésicas. - Albahaca fresca, la cual contiene eugenol, un compuesto que ayuda a combatir el picor y el dolor. - Romero fresco, además de tener propiedades similares a la albahaca es un antiséptico natural. Una vez hecha la mezcla solo tenemos que ponerla a enfriar en la nevera para que nos aporte el efecto frío que también ayudará con la hinchazón y ya estará lista para aplicar en la zona afectada. Podéis dejarla aplicada en la zona afectada entre 20-30 minutos, y después retirar los restos con agua fría. Si veis que no mejora, que tiene mal aspecto o que algún producto os hace alergia id rápidamente al médico!

Sabéis de donde salen estas preciosas ocas? Son un detalle de una de las ilustraciones del calendario Montessori de este año! Os atrevéis a adivinar a qué mes pertenecen? Una pista: no es el mes en el que estamos ahora. Ya sabéis lo que me encanta dibujar animalitos y sobretodo si son tan simpáticos como estas ocas! Cuando pienso en ocas siempre me acuerdo de cuando era pequeñita, en el parque de al lado de mi escuela había unas cuantas de ellas, aunque aquellas no eran muy simpáticas, si te acercabas mucho, te perseguían gritando con la cabeza en alto!🌱 Do you know where these beautiful geese come from? They’re part of one of this year's Montessori calendar illustrations! Do you dare to guess which month they belong to? A hint: it's not the month we're in right now. You already know how much I love to draw little animals and especially if they’re as cute as these geese! When I think about geese I always remember when I was little, there were some of them in the park next to my school, although those weren’t very nice, if you got too close, they would chase you screaming with their heads held high!🌱

ES || Hoy os traigo una idea genial para los y las más pequeñitas de las casa, genial para amenizar estos días de calor tan sumamente intenso: un libro mágico de baño! Aunque aún no tengo las muestras y no os lo puedo enseñar, en su interior encontrareis diferentes animalitos con los colores del arco iris, pero “sorpresa!” su color solo aparecerá si los mojas!! Es una súper divertida manera de descubrir y experimentar los colores! La verdad es que ha quedado monísimo! Que ganas que tengo de tenerlo entre mis manos y hundirlo en el agua… Si os gusta ya podéis encontrarlo en vuestras librerías de confianza, en amazon, la casa del libro y sitios similares. Espero que paséis bien estos días de calor, hidrataros mucho, comed frutas (los que podéis) y pensad en los osos polares cuando dudéis si es necesario el aire acondicionado! Although I still don't have the samples and therefore I can't show you, inside you’ll find different little animals with the colors of the rainbow, but "surprise!" their color will only appear if you wet them!! ES|| Los tiburones están gravemente amenazados (incluso hay muchas especies en peligro de extinción) esto es debido sobretodo a su pesca indiscriminada para vender sus aletas. Y, aunque parezca mentira Europa contribuye enormemente y es una zona caliente de comercio de aleta de tiburón. Desde 2003 el finning está prohibido en Europa, y desde 2013 se permite pescar algunas especies de tiburones pero sin descartar el cuerpo. Sin embargo, la legislación europea sigue permitiendo el comercio de aletas a granel de especies no protegidas. Cuando se transportan solo las aletas la identificación de la especie es muy difícil, especialmente porque los envíos suelen mezclar diferentes tipos de ellas, lo que da lugar a que se comercie fácilmente con aletas de especies protegidas y de ejemplares capturados de forma ilegal. Los tiburones están en la cúspide de la cadena trófica y juegan un papel fundamental en el equilibrio marino, regulando y equilibrando la vida que hay en ellos y ayudando a preservar sus ecosistemas. Evitar la catástrofe medioambiental que supondría la desaparición de los tiburones pasa por poner freno a este lucrativo negocio. Para ello es necesario que Europa deje de exportar aletas de tiburón y no facilite el comercio a través de su territorio. Solo quedan 4 días para que finalice el termino para firmar la iniciativa ciudadana europea para proponer un cambio legislativo que prohíba el comercio de la aleta de tiburón. 🦈 Corred, animaros a firmar! EN|| Sharks are seriously threatened (there are even many species in danger of extinction) this is mainly due to their indiscriminate fishing to sell their fins. And, oddly enough, Europe contributes enormously and is a hot spot for the shark fin trade. Since 2003 finning has been prohibited in Europe, and since 2013 it has been allowed to fish some species of sharks but without discarding the rest of the body. However, the European legislation continues to allow the trade of fins of non-protected species. When only the fins are transported, the identification of the species is very difficult, especially as shipments often mix different types of fins, leading to easy trade in fins from protected species and illegally caught fins. Sharks are at the top of the food chain and play a fundamental role in the marine balance, regulating and balancing the life in them and helping to preserve their ecosystems. Avoiding the environmental catastrophe that would mean the disappearance of sharks involves putting a stop to this lucrative business. This requires Europe to stop exporting shark fins and not facilitate trade through its territory. ES || Yo ya hace tiempo que voy con calcetines de lana y duermo con dos nórdicos pero debo confesar que ahora ya estoy en modo navidad total! Ya he hecho maratones de pelis navideñas, he leído libros de navidad y incluso estoy leyendo un libro-adviento “How Winston came home for Christmas” de Alex T Smith, sobre un ratón adorable que busca a otro ratoncito muy especial. Para seguir con este espíritu navideño aquí tenéis un encargo personalizado navideño. Que os parece la carita adorable del este ciervo de las nieves? ¿Desearíais feliz Navidad con él a vuestros seres queridos? Ya sé que papa Noel viaja con renos voladores pero yo puedo imaginármelo cabalgando en el aire frio del bosque, entre arboles, en medio de la nieve. I've already done Christmas movie marathons, I've read Christmas books and I'm even reading an Advent-book "How Winston came home for Christmas" by Alex T Smith, about an adorable mouse looking for another very special little mouse. To continue with this Christmas spirit here you have a personalized Christmas project. What do you think of the adorable face of this snow deer? I know Santa Claus travels with flying reindeers but I can imagine him riding in the cold air of the forest, between the trees, in the middle of the snow. Ah! ES || Han vuelto los pajaritos a mi balcón! De momento ni rastro del mirlo que venia siempre pero sí que han vuelto los demás adorables pajaritos. Me podría pasar horas viéndolos correr por la barandilla y los troncos de las plantas! Vosotros también necesitáis bufandas calentitas como este pajarito, para salir a la calle estos días de fresquito? ❄️ EN || The birds who used to visit me in my balcony are back! At the moment there’s no sign of the blackbird that always came by but the other adorable little birds have returned. I could spend hours watching them run up the railing and the plants! Do you also need warm scarves to go out on these cool days like this little blackbird? ❄️

ES || Este año ha sido bastante raro, un año de altos y bajos. A diferencia de otros años, pocas ilustraciones con muchos detalles y personajes, de hecho muchas piezas grandes y pequeñas se quedan en el tintero en diferentes partes del proceso, con un poco de suerte antes de que finalice el año podré acabar alguna. En cambio ha sido un año de retratos de animales, de experimentación con acuarelas, panpastels, lápices de colores, gouache y otras técnicas tradicionales, pero también con illustrator y procreate. A pesar de todo, una cosa continua siendo igual, mucha naturaleza por todos lados!🌿 EN || This year has been quite rare, a year of ups and downs. Unlike other years, I’ve done few illustrations with many details and characters, in fact many large and small pieces still remain in different parts of the process, hopefully before the end of the year I will be able to finish some of them. Instead it has been a year of animal portraits, experimentation with watercolors, panpastels, colored pencils, gouache and other traditional techniques, but also with illustrator and procreate. In spite of everything, one thing remains the same, a lot of nature everywhere!🌿

ES || Hace un tiempo descubrí las palomas frutales… y me enamoré al instante de estos seres tan hermosos y coloridos que hay en el mundo. No sabia que habían pájaros con tantos colores ni con tantas combinaciones diferentes… Son increíbles!! Aunque no tengo la costumbre de tener un cuaderno de bocetos, cuando los descubrí, no pude resistirme a hacer pequeños bocetos rápidos y intentar plasmar sus colores brillantes y caras monísimas! ¡Estas criaturas son increíblemente hermosas! Ojalá algún día en lugar de verlos en imágenes pueda verlos en su hábitat natural. Mientras tanto, los seguiré investigando y dibujando en mis tiempos libres. 💚 EN || Some time ago I discovered fruit doves and I went down to a rabbit hole searching all the beautiful and colorful fruit doves there are in the world. There’re so many of them!!! Although I'm not in the habit of having a sketchbook I couldn't resist doing quick small sketches and drawing their bright colors and cute faces!! These creatures are so incredibly beautiful! I wish some day instead of seeing them in pictures I can see them on their natural habitat. 💚

No sé si os acordareis pero Haizea es la galgo que os enseñé hace un tiempo cuando tenia la ilustración a medias, pronto os mostraré la ilustración acabada entera, la verdad es que cuando la miro muero de amor! Estos días vuelvo a estar liada, como una pequeña abejita. Después de un descanso involuntario vuelvo a dibujar flores y frutas saludables para un nuevo proyecto! Se nota que me encanta la naturaleza?🌻 A small close up of the flowers in the “Haizea” illustration. I don't know if you’ll remember but Haizea is the white greyhound I showed you a while ago when I had the illustration in progress… Soon I will show you the entire finished illustration. In fact when I look at her I die of love! These days I’m busy again, like a little bee. After an involuntary break I’m back drawing healthy flowers and fruits for a new project! It shows that I really love nature?🌻

ES || Hoy os enseño el resto de etiquetas que he hecho hasta el momento. Una para el dulce de membrillo, una para la mermelada de moras silvestres y otra para la mermelada de tomate del huerto! He de confesar que me encantan estas frutas de ojos saltones! Seguro que más adelante hago mas variedades. A veces de proyectos personales, divertidos, salen oportunidades nuevas. Este proyecto en concreto me llevó a un proyecto nuevo con una editorial que verá la luz a principios de la próxima primavera! Qué ganas de poder ver y enseñaros el resultado!! EN || Today I bring you the rest of the labels I’ve made so far. One for the quince, one for the wild blackberry jam and one for the tomato jam from the garden! I have to confess that I love these googly-eyed fruits!! Sometimes from personal and fun projects, new opportunities emerge. This particular project led me to a new paid project with a publisher that will be released early next spring! I can’t wait to see and show you the final result!

ES|| Hoy os enseño un proyecto diferente, un proyecto que surgió inesperadamente hace un par de veranos y que mezcla dos disciplinas muy diferentes. Cuando estoy estresada y necesito relajarme urgentemente me encanta cocinar, en especial me chiflan los postres y pasteles con poco azúcar y mucho chocolate (o con té matcha). También me encanta la fruta, sobre todo si es de agricultura ecológica, y no me gusta nada desperdiciar la comida. Si juntamos todo esto hay una receta que es perfecta: la MERMELADA! La mermelada evita que el exceso de fruta o que la fruta que está demasiado madura para poderla consumir fresca acabe en la basura y, al contrario, la podamos consumir todo el año. Quería que las etiquetas fueran cercanas, divertidas, vistosas y dulces como las elaboraciones. Por este motivo opté por hacer del producto principal de cada elaboración un personaje sin genero, simple y simpático, de ojos grandes y colores brillantes. Espero seguir haciendo más personajillos y más recetas de frutas. Otro día prometo daros las recetas de todas las elaboraciones! 🍑 EN|| Today I bring you an unusual project that emerged unexpectedly throughout the summer of two years ago. I say this project is unusual because it mixes two very different disciplines and it taps other forms of creativity. When I'm stressed and in urgently need to relax, cooking is helps me, especially I love to make desserts and bake cakes with little sugar and lots of chocolate or a little of matcha tea. Moreover I absolutely love fruits, especially if they’re from organic farming, and I don’t like to waste food. If we put those two things together there’s a perfect recipe: JAM! Making jam prevents that the excess of fruit or the fruit that is too ripe for fresh consumption ends up being wasted in the trash and, on the contrary, makes it possible for us to consume it all year round. Jam it's great to mix with yogurt, ice cream, kefir, a chocolate cake, cheesecake, ... I wanted the labels to be fun, colorful and as sweet as the elaborations. For this reason I chose to make a non-gender, simple and friendly character, with big eyes and bright colors, for every main product of each of the elaborations.🍑

ES|| Me da la sensación que el verano se ha acabado en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Un día iba con camiseta de tirantes y al otro con un jersey! Aunque aún hay días, o mejor dicho momentos, que aun hace un calor aplastante, el frío se esta abriendo camino súper rápidamente. Parece que el otoño y la primavera vayan difuminándose y solo sepamos en que época del año estamos por las lluvias y los días acortándose. Por una parte me da pena que se acaben los días de tomar el sol (o como me gusta decir a mi “hacer la fotosíntesis”), los colores brillantes de la naturaleza, los días increíblemente largos, las fresas, la sandia, el melón y todos las maravillosas frutas de verano y los pantalones cortos, pero, por otro lado, ya viene el tiempo de dormir con el nórdico, cosa que me encanta! Y para despedir los días largos de sol y el calor un trocito de una ilustración antigua con aires muy veraniegos!🍉 EN|| I get the feeling that summer has gone by in the blink of an eye. One day I was wearing a tank top and the other a sweater! Although there’re days, or rather moments, when it’s still overwhelmingly hot, the cold is making its way super quickly. It seems autumn and spring are fading away and we only know what time of year we are due to the rains and the days getting shorter. On one hand, I’m sorry that the days of sunbathing (or as I like to say “to photosynthesize”), the bright colors of nature, the incredibly long days, strawberries, watermelons, melons and all the wonderful summer fruits and shorts are over, but on the other hand, it's getting so much closer the time to sleep with the duvet, which I absolutely love! And to say goodbye to long sunny days, a piece of an old illustration with a very summery atmosphere!🍉

ES|| La mayoría de ilustraciones que os enseño por aquí forman parte de proyectos personales que hago en medio de encargos y proyectos remunerados. Muchas veces tengo que dejar a medias estos proyectos personales porque no se vive del aire. A principios de año os empecé a enseñar mi experimentación con técnicas tradicionales, pues una cuantas ilustraciones se me quedaron en el tintero, como este caracol enamorado de una granada! No suelo hacerlo pero aquí os enseño un trozo del proceso de creación, en las imágenes podéis ver el boceto y la prueba de color en @procreate. A vosotros que os parecen los colores? 🐌 EN|| Most of the illustrations I show you here are part of personal projects I do in the middle of commissions and paid projects. Many times I have to leave these personal projects halfway because money. At the beginning of the year I began to experiment with traditional techniques, but a few illustrations were left in the inkwell, like this snail in love with a pomegranate! I don't usually do it but here I show you a piece of the creation process. In the images you can see the sketch and the color test in @procreate. I hope I can finish it soon in my spare time and I hope to not make it worse than in this color test because it has me in love! What do you think of the colors? 🐌

ES || Aquí tenéis un detalle de las oropéndolas rodeadas de flores i plantas. Aunque parezcan dos especies diferentes de pájaro se trata de una pareja: el macho es de un amarillo vibrante con antifaz, las alas y un trozo de la cola negras, en cambio la hembra cambia el amarillo por un tono mas apagado y verdoso y el negro por un gris amarronado, además tiene una encantadora barriguita de tonos blancos con pintitas oscuras. Curiosamente cuando dibujé estos pajaritos no los había visto nunca, pero no hace mucho pude observar estas preciosas manchas amarillas y negras en el cielo. 🌻🌿

EN || Here’s a detail of the orioles surrounded by flowers and plants. Although they look like two different species of birds, they’re a couple: the male is vibrant yellow with a black piece of the tail, mask and wings, while the female changes the yellow for a more dull and greenish tone and the black for a brownish gray, it also has a beautiful white tummy with cute dark spots. Curiously, when I drew these little birds I had never seen them, but not so long ago I got the chance to see these beautiful yellow and black spots in the sky.🌻🌿

ES|| La ilustración de este año se la dedico a mi madre y a todas esas raíces de lucha feminista! Aunque hayamos recorrido mucho camino aun nos queda muchísimo más por luchar! En otros tiempos cuando una mujer tenia opiniones, conocimientos, sueños, o cualquier otra aspiración o comportamiento fuera de la norma establecida podía acabar en la hoguera tachada de bruja, aunque hoy en día no tenemos hogueras muchas mujeres tienen que aguantar comentarios y comportamientos sexistas, peyorativos o violentos por estas mismas razones. Yo personalmente cuando pienso en brujas no pienso en esos seres malos de los cuentos sino en las curanderas que bailaban bajo la luna en los solsticios y recogían hierbas del campo para curar casi todos los males. A ellas también les dedico esta ilustración donde las llamas de la hoguera se han trasformado en una flor de hipérico, una flor medicinal muy unida a los solsticios. EN|| This year's illustration is dedicated to my mother and to all those feminist roots! Although we’ve come a long way, we still have so much more to fight! In other times when a woman had opinions, knowledge, dreams, or any other aspiration or behavior outside the established norm, she could end up at the stake labeled a witch, although today we don’t burn people, many women have to put up with sexist, violent or derogatory comments and behavior because of these same reasons. Personally, when I think of witches, instead of those evil beings on tales I visualize the healers who danced under the moon at the solstices and gathered herbs from the field to cure almost all ills. I also dedicate to them this illustration where the flames have been transformed into a St. John's wort flower, a medicinal flower closely linked to the solstices celebrations.
