Siempre me ha parecido un poco absurdo fijar un solo día para celebrar el amor, y menos si se trata de uno estándar con unos roles predeterminados, con mucho consumismo y con poco sentimiento. El amor, de todo tipo en su infinidad de formas (¡Ah eso sí, todos menos los que son tóxicos!), tendría que celebrarse todos los días del año, ya sea el amor por la familia, el amor por una o varias parejas, el amor por los amigos, por los animales de compañía, por el planeta tierra, por el arte o, el que le gusta más a este conejito trabajador, el amor más importante de todos (y a veces el más difícil) el amor a uno mismo, siempre sin caer en el egocentrismo. To me it has always seemed a little absurd to set a single day to celebrate love, and even more so if it’s a standard love with predetermined roles, a lot of consumerism and little feeling. ES|| Como apasionada de los dragones no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de celebrar el inicio del año nuevo lunar, que este año es el del dragón, y ya de paso, aprovecho para despedirme del año que dejamos atrás, el del conejo!
Me parece super curioso la diversidad de dragones que existen en los diferentes imaginarios y culturas alrededor del mundo. De todos los colores (verdes, rojos, turquesa), formas (de serpiente, de lagarto, como una montaña o como un rio), elementos (fuego, agua, tierra) y caracteres (bondadosos como los de varias mitologías asiáticas o malos como en las leyendas occidentales). A mi personalmente me encantan los dragones bondadosos ligados a la naturaleza, por este motivo me imagino siempre al dragón de Sant Jordi como un jardinero que cultiva rosas y no como un ser despiadado que solo de su sangre brota la vida.

EN|| As a dragon enthusiast, I couldn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the beginning of this lunar new year, the year of the dragon. And, in the way, say goodbye to the year we leave behind, the year of the rabbit!
I find it super intriguing the diversity of dragons that exist in different imaginaries and cultures all around the world. We can find dragons of all colors (green, red, turquoise), shapes (like a snake, a lizard, a mountain or a river), elements (fire, water, earth) and natures/ mind set (kind-hearted like those in various Asian mythologies or bad like in Western legends). I personally love kind dragons linked to nature and farming, for this reason I always imagine the Sant Jordi dragon as a gardener who grows roses and not as a ruthless being that only from its blood does life thrive.

ES| Aunque podemos encontrar limones todo el año, una de las épocas de recolección de la fruta es el invierno. El limón aparte de estar buenísimo, combinar genial en las infusiones y contener vitamina C y otros minerales, es un fruto con muchísimas propiedades beneficiosas no solamente consumiéndolo fresco, sino que también es muy apreciado por el aceite esencial que se extrae de su piel.
Exprimido se usa contra la artritis, es depurativo, diurético, antirreumático, antivírico, antibiótico, anticatarral, antigripal y antidiarreico, ya que es astringente y remineralizarne. Además, es antiséptico bucofaríngeo y ayuda a combatir la amigdalitis y la faringitis. El limón también contiene terpenos, que tienen propiedades antitumorales, ayuda con los mareos, las taquicardias y las enfermedades cardiovasculares.
A nivel cutáneo es un gran tónico y también se utiliza contra la celulitis. Funciona de maravilla como limpiador, por lo que es de gran ayuda contra la grasa facial y el acné. Es antiséptico, cicatrizante y coagulante, a parte de un fortalecedor capilar natural.
Su aceite esencial vaporizado tiene propiedades contra la fatiga, la tensión nerviosa, la depresión y la falta de concentración por lo que es un gran aliado en momentos de estudio o trabajo.

Las abejas, junto a mariposas, polillas, avispas, abejorros, mosca abejas, hormigas, moscas y escarabajos (por decir algunos insectos, hay muchísimos más y muchísimas especies en cada categoría!!) son unas de las principales encargadas de la polinización de las flores, una función vital para la biodiversidad terrestre y para nuestra alimentación. Sin embargo, están desapareciendo! Un 40% de los polinizadores invertebrados, en particular abejas y mariposas, y un 17% de los polinizadores vertebrados, como los murciélagos y los pájaros, se enfrentan a la extinción. Esta cifra aun es más alta si pensamos en las islas. En Europa una de cada diez especies de abejas está en peligro de extinción. Este peligroso, devastador y triste declive se debe a varias causas como la pérdida y deterioro de sus hábitats, principalmente a manos de los humanos, las prácticas de la agricultura industrializada, como los monocultivos, el uso de plaguicidas y otros productos químicos, los parásitos y enfermedades, las especies vegetales y animales invasoras y los impactos del cambio climático como la subida de la temperatura que afecta a la floración de las plantas y la escasez de agua.. Pensemos en estos pequeños, pero importantísimos, seres adorables, que parecen pompones voladores, y cambiemos nuestros hábitos de consumo y de vida! Comprar y promover los productos no procesados, de temporada, ecológicos y de proximidad (a mi me encantan los proyectos de agricultura regenerativa), respetar sus hábitats, no caer en el monocultivo y plantar márgenes de flores nativas silvestres son algunos de los pequeños pasos que podemos seguir para ayudarlas.🐝☀️

Bees, along with butterflies, moths, wasps, bumblebees, bee flies, ants, flies and beetles (to name a few insects, there are many more and many species in each category!!) are one of the main characters in charge of pollinating flowers, a vital function for terrestrial biodiversity and for our food chain. However, they’re disappearing! 40% of invertebrate pollinators, in particular bees and butterflies, and 17% of vertebrate pollinators, such as bats and birds, face extinction. This figure is even higher if we think of islands. In Europe, one in ten species of bees is in danger of extinction. This dangerous, devastating and sad decline is due to several causes such as the loss and deterioration of their habitats, mainly at the hands of humans, the practices of industrialized agriculture, such as monocultures, the use of pesticides and other chemical products, parasites and diseases, exotic invasive plants and animal species and the impacts of climate change such as the rise in temperature that affects the flowering of plants and the lack of water. Let's think about these small, but very important, adorable beings, who look like flying pompoms, and let's change our consumption and life habits! Buying and promoting unprocessed, seasonal, organic and local products (I love regenerative agriculture projects), respecting their habitats, not falling into monoculture and planting borders of wild native flowers are some of the small steps that we can do to help this little fellows. 🐝☀️
ES || Hoy es mi cumpleaños!! Muchas felicidades a todos los que hacéis los años el mismo día que yo, y a los que no, feliz no cumpleaños! He de decir que a mí me pirra el chocolate negro en todas sus versiones, ya sea en galletas, magdalenas y, por supuesto un buen pastel (siempre con poco azúcar, que no me apasiona el dulce). A mí me dais este pastel sin el frosting y soy más feliz que una perdiz. Aunque ahora mismo yo no puedo comer muchos dulces espero que este ratoncito se pegue un buen festín y sople todas la velas! Sabéis de dónde viene la tradición de soplar las velas? Pues hay varias teorías de su origen pero a mí la que más me gusta es la de antigua Grecia, donde era costumbre llevar al templo de Artemisa, la diosa de la luna, unas tortas redondas, que simbolizaban el circulo lunar completo, con una vela encendida que representaba el resplandor de la luna. Después esta vela se soplaba para que el humo llevara a los dioses el deseo pedido. Esta tradición de pedir un deseo para celebrar el día que vinimos al mundo me encanta. Espero que todos vuestros deseos, por muy imposibles que parezcan, se cumplan!
EN || Happy birthday to me!! Best wishes to those of you who also celebrate your birthday today, and to those who don't, a very merry unbirthday to you! I love dark chocolate, in all its versions, whether it’s cookies, muffins or of course a good cake (always with less sugar than usual, I’m not really into sweet things). Give me this cake without the frosting and I'm the happiest person in the world. Although right now I can't eat sweets, I hope this little mouse has a good feast and blows out all the candles! Do you know where the tradition of blowing out the candles comes from? Well, there are several theories about its origin, but the one I like the most is the ancient Greece one, where it was a tradition to bring round cakes to the temple of Artemis (the goddess of the moon). That symbolized the complete lunar circle, the cake had a lighted candle that represented the glow of the moon. This candle would later be blown so the smoke would take the person’s wish to the gods. I love this tradition of making a wish to celebrate the day we came into the world. I hope that all your wishes, as impossible they may seem, come true!

ES|| He hecho una nueva versión del caracolito enamorado. Hace muchísimo tiempo que tenia el esbozo y el apunte de color hecho en procreate y también realice una versión de la misma ilustración en formato vertical para la exposición de postales de @gallerynucleus . Además tengo pendiente una nueva versión donde quiero experimentar con mucho más gouache y menos acuarela! 🐌 En las imágenes podéis ver el resultado final, el primer paso con solo una capa de acuarela y gouache para el azul del fondo, y el esbozo. Por cierto recordad que si queréis tener o regalar una de las postales de la exposición aun las tenéis disponibles en la tienda online de la galería! It's been a long time since I had the sketch and the color tests made in procreate and I also made a version of the same illustration in a vertical format for the power in numbers exhibition at @gallerynucleus . I also have a new version pending where I want to experiment more with gouache and use less watercolor!🐌 In the images you can see the final result, the first step with just a layer of watercolor and gouache for the blue in the background, and the sketch. ES|| Esta ilustración original formara parte de la exposición solidaria “Postales des del Limbo” @postaleslimbo que se inaugura mañana en Zaragoza. La exposición esta formada por postales de diferentes artistas. Todas la postales son de 13x18 cm y solo están firmadas por el reverso, de manera que el comprador no podrá saber de quien es la obra que está comprando hasta que ya esté en sus manos. Otra de las singularidades de esta exposición es que el precio de las obras irá disminuyendo des del primer día de la exposición, es decir mañana viernes 25 al ultimo día, la mañana del lunes 28. Aunque cada día habrá menos obras expuestas, ya que las obras irán abandonando las paredes a medida que los visitantes las vayan comprando. Todos los beneficios serán donados de manera integra a la fundación Centro de Solidaridad de Zaragoza – Proyecto hombre. Esta rosa canina está dibujada con portaminas de colores y pintada con acuarelas, gouache y anilinas, también tiene texturas de lápices de colores acuareables y polychromos. EN|| This original illustration will be part of the charity exhibition "Postcards from Limbo" that opens tomorrow in Zaragoza. The exhibition shows postcards from different artists. All the postcards are 13x18cm and have the artist signature on the back, so the buyer will not be able to know whose work he’s buying until it’s in his hands. Another singularity of this exhibition is the price of the works, it’ll be decreasing from the first day of the exhibition (Friday 25th) to the last day (Monday 28th). Although every day there’ll be fewer works on display, since the works will leave the walls as visitors buy them. All profits will be donated in full to Zaragoza Solidarity Center Foundation.
