(Paimon) "Oh, Lumine! It's S/O!"

- Lumine and Paimon were walking back to Mondstadt when she turned around.

- S/O was running full tilt sprint towards them.

(S/O) "LUMINE!"

(Lumine) "Huh...We haven't been gone that long have we?"

(Paimon) "Maybe they're just really excited?...Er, what's that behind them?"

- It was a black cloud of...smoke?

- No. NO.

- IT WAS WASPS!

- Lumine was quick to react and shot a gust of wind at S/O, blowing them back and dispersing the swarm of wasps.

(Lumine) "S/O, what happened?!"

(S/O) "I-I was just trying to get some wood and I guess I must've hit a nest or something...!"

(Paimon) "Jeez, why didn't you shout 'Hey help me, there's wasps chasing me!' instead of Lumine's name?"

(S/O) "I'd like to see you think clearly when a swarm is out for your blood!"

- Lumine couldn't help but laugh and give them a quick peck on the cheek.

(Lumine) "Come on, let's head back in together."

- Amber saw S/O screaming her name as they ran towards her.

- It was a bit more of an energetic greeting than she was used to, but it wasn't anything she couldn't get used to!

- Amber opened her arms wide.

(Amber) "Hey, welcome back S/O!"

- Squinting her eyes, she realized that they weren't smiling. They were panicking.

- She stepped to the side and saw the black cloud of angry wasps hunting S/O down.

(Amber) "NO YOU DON'T, GO GO BARON BUNNY!"

- She grabbed her Baron Bunny and tossed it in front of her, perfectly calculating where S/O would keep running past it and away from the blast radius.

- As the Baron Bunny detonated, it set all the wasps aflame, making them scatter.

- She grabbed S/O and looked all over them.

(Amber) "Goodness, are you alright S/O?!"

(S/O) "Thanks to you I am..."

- S/O hugged Amber and she hugged back.

(Amber) "Whew, well never fear when I'm here, S/O! I'll protect you!...So uh, what exactly happened?"

(S/O) "I...may have tipped over a nest without noticing when I was cutting a tree down."

(Amber) "...Seriously?"

- Eula immediately notices something is off.

- S/O is NOT the type to be this cheesy when seeing her again.

- She looks behind them and notices the angry cloud of stingers after S/O and immediately jumps into action.

(Eula) "I don't think you insects seem to understand. S/O ISN'T YOURS TO CONQUER."

- Her vengeance is swift as she freezes them in place with her Cryo vision, and crushes them with her sword.

- She calmly takes a breathe and turns to S/O.

(Eula) "You alright?"

(S/O) "Y-Yes, thank you so much Eula."

(Eula) "Of course."

- She smiles at S/O as she sheathes her sword.

(S/O) "...Wait, what was that part about conquering?"

(Eula) "Wouldn't you like to know?"

- In reality, she'd freeze over the entire population of creatures in Mondstadt before anything touched S/O.

(Fischl) "Hah, that is the proper reaction upon seeing the Prinze-"

(Oz) "Uh, Mein Fräulein, that isn't joy on their face."

(Fischl) "...Say what?"

- She looked again, realizing what was chasing after S/O.

(S/O) "F-FISCHL! OZ!"

(Fischl) "QUICKLY OZ, TO THEIR RESCUE!"

(Oz) "At once."

- Oz flew past S/O and into the swarm, his electricity zapping and frying all of the wasps in the blink of an eye.

- As they dropped to the floor, S/O stopped to catch their breath while Fischl walked over to them, hand outstretched.

(Fischl) "Fear not, those foul creatures have atoned with their lives for attacking the lover of the Prinzessin der Verurteilung!"

(S/O) "T-Thank you, Fischl."

- They took her hand as Oz flew back to them.

(Oz) "What exactly caused that to happen?"

(S/O) "I was just trying to get an apple and uh...I made the nest fall over by accident..."

(Everyone) "..."

(Fischl) snrk!

- S/O turned to Fischl, which she quickly cleared her throat and looked away awkwardly.

the starry sky in inazuma was perfect to match with the fireworks yoimiya created. of being divergent colors scattered all across the atmosphere, creating a tumultuous sound in each firework that was set out. your girlfriend happily gaped at all the lights that appeared in the sky, while her smile and her creations made you as happy as ever.

it took long for you to spot all the fireworks that were let out. "are you proud of them?" yoimiya chuckled, resting her elbow on your shoulder. these fireworks were displayed once in a year, giving people hope to fill amiability in their hearts as the pyrotechnics set ablaze, accompanying aspiration to everyone cheering on.

"they're amazing, yoimiya." you placed a kiss on her forehead, leaving her thrilled to your response. her creativity was noted across inazuman people, they always looked forward to her pyrotechnical constructions, with each firework that was ignited left a joy to the citizens, and as you, not just as her partner — but as a fellow person that would always visit to see the lit fireworks,

knew that nothing could be brighter than the happiness yoimiya brought to the people.

if it's alright can i ask for a continuation for keqing? 👉🏻👈🏻 like the two of them inevitably have to fight each other ft. other fatui and keqing gets overwhelmed so the reader ultimately betrays her peers and gets gravely injured (i live for the angst-hurt/comfort)

Thank you so much, I really enjoyed writing it as hopefully I'll do more for other characters! I love continuations so I was so happy to write this. I also apologize for not getting this out sooner as I had this in the works with a few other things; however, a couple of personal things came up. But that aside I do hope you enjoy this as I hope you don't mind that I did a hybrid of scenario/fic.

Keqing was asked to go investigate the suspicious activity that was going on near the entrance of the mines with only the mention that it is possibly involving the Fatui. On her travels to get to the location of course her mind had wondered to what she’d possibly find; then the thought of you popped into her head.

It had been so long… Maybe a couple of months since she last saw you since she cut ties after finding out you were with the enemy. There couldn’t be a possibility that you were still in Liyue after the whole incident that had taken place right, she didn’t want to worry about coming to come face to face when the pain and the memories of that day was still very fresh in Keqing’s head

Whatever or whoever was seemingly up to no good, Keqing’s resolve to keep all of Liyue and Liyue Harbor safe stayed strong. Upon arrival so far there had not been a soul in her sights, but of course continued to look around to see if she could find any signs of evidence that people were there. It was after a while of searching that Keqing walked up a couple of stairs until she heard a voice talking. She only saw two figures, one kneeling before the standing figure

“Boss, the rubble that’s blocking the entryway to the Chasm is far greater than initially suspected… It may take us longer to clear it all out,” the masked agent kneeling said. Keqing’s eyes widened at the new information as holding her sword in hand she rushed over to put a stop to the Fatui’s plans. “Stop right there,” she shouted getting both the agents attention; however, the kneeling agent was the only one who jumped up and looked at her

“Leave this to me, get back to the others and get the job done,” the other figure spoke as at that moment she knew right away it was you. When it was just the two of them Keqing’s hold on her sword loosened as she watched as the hood was pulled off. “Of all the people that could have been sent it had to be you… I really wish this wasn’t how we met again,” you said with a small sigh fully turned to face her removing your mask revealing the glimmer of the eyes Keqing had fallen in love with

“What’s the meaning of all of this (Y/n),” she asked as she was mad, she should be mad yet her heart betrayed her as it raced at the sight of you. “Unfortunately that’s classified information,” was all you spoke having a soft expression on your face before you summoned your weapon. “I’d much rather not fight you but knowing you, you just won’t simply walk away… So you give me no other choice.”

The fight between you two was fast as flashes of your elements clashed together blow for blow. The sounds of metals clashing and striking one another till eventually you both skidded apart from each other heavily breathing, small nicks and tears in clothing. The brief moment of the wind passing through before Keqing sprinted forward attacking again.

“You’re a traitor! A Lair,” Keqing shouted, striking her sword at (Y/n) who was simply blocking and staying on the defensive side. “You have every right to be angry with me; I’m sorry I didn’t tell you the truth. I knew if I did you wouldn’t give me the chance to explain, but please believe me when I say that I dated you because I loved you; I wasn’t trying to use you,” You further said blocking the barrage of attacks. Keqing gritted her teeth as she felt the ache of her chest; how could she believe anything you said, for all she knew you were simply trying to sweet talk her. “How can I believe you when you told them everything that I told you and everything that was in the Jade Chamber,” She shouted angrily, swinging her blade.

Her words of her assumptions of what you possibly did brought a sharp pain to your chest; instead of using your weapon to stop her attack you grabbed the blade by the hand; the small pain of the blade cutting into the skin causing blood to seep out. Looking at her with a hurt expression you looked Keqing in her purple eyes as she was staring back with a shocked expression by your actions. “You-you really think I’d stoop that low to tell the Fatui all the things you’ve told me about and what was in the Jade Chamber? I never told them anything; I might be working for them, but I’ve kept all of our conversations and that of the Chamber to myself this whole time,” You said, causing Keqing to freeze at your words in complete bewilderment. Though before any more words could be exchanged during your fight, the sound of a gun being shot, the two of you jumped back to watch a bullet engulfed in flames hit the dirt of where the two of you just were.

The other members had suddenly appeared shooting attacks as one of the Vanguards charged Keqing. Panic started to slowly overtake you as you had to watch Keqing fight off the others. “What are you all doing?! I told you to get the job done didn’t I,” You shouted trying to get them to back down, but it didn’t seem to be working. “We’ll make quick work of this one,” The Bracer said, aiming his gun to fire another round. Glancing back to Keqing it was clear she was doing her best to at most keep up and dodge the enemies attacks. In this crucial moment there was a decision to be made: to either walk away and let the others continue the fight and simply pray Keqing would flee or betray the Fatui in order to save the woman you still very much loved. Finally coming to your decision you first attacked the bracer to get him out of the way before running over to handle the rest. Getting knocked down Keqing was doing her best to get right back up, but only managed to sit herself up; her attention now on the electro vanguard who’s hammer was up in the air about to come down on her. Closing her eyes she waited for the impact… However after not feeling anything she opened her eyes only for them to widen at the scene before her; there you stood your weapon blocking the hammer before managing to push the tall man back.

“Who do you all think you are?! How dare you go against my orders like a bunch of morons,” You shouted angrily as though she couldn’t see the look on your face, she could only imagine how mad you were. “For your unacceptable behavior you all will face punishment,” you now spoke in a much lower tone, your vision surprisingly enough started to change to a different color before you charged at the other members of the Fatui. It still almost felt unreal of the turn of events that have taken place yet here you were fighting your own peers to protect her, the feeling of guilt creeping in on how she treated you. The fight dragged on a while longer until the last remaining members fled while they could, leaving you to stand by yourself with the few bodies that laid on the ground. You turned around to look over to Keqing to check on her and to your relief she wasn’t hurt too much. “You okay,” you asked, feeling your body grow heavy and tired from the wounds you’ve sustained. Blinking she snapped out of her trance and nodded her head uttering a small yes. “That’s… Good,” you replied smiling before falling over.

“(Y/n),” Keqing shouted, scurrying up to get to you, carefully turning you over gasping at the sight of how grave your injuries were. “Hey! Hey,” she loudly said cupping the side of your face to make you look at her as a flurry of mixed emotions were going on. “What’s the big idea huh?! What do you think you were doing,” she asked sternly as it pained her to see you in such a horrible condition. A weak laugh came out as you reached up a hand to overlap the one holding the side of your face running a thumb over her hand in a comforting manner. “I was pro-tecting you of… Course,” you answered before a hard cough briefly stopping you from talking. “It-it’s okay if you still… Hate me, but I hope that… At least this makes up… For all the bad I’ve done,” you further spoke, wincing when trying to breathe. Tears falling, Keqing feeling the weight of your words hit her heart hard, regretting how cruel she was. The rain started to fall, Keqing couldn’t just mope around and let you die; putting her strong urge to cry aside, she carefully picked up your body and made a run back to the harbor as hopefully Dr. Baizhu would be able to help.

Who knew how long you had been out for, though much to your surprise you were actually alive but how? The sight of an unfamiliar ceiling was the first thing you saw before you tried to move to sit up to further investigate your surroundings. “Don’t you dare try to move, you’ll only reopen your wounds,” the stern voice of Keqing rang in your ears as looking over she was now right beside you causing a small strained laugh out of you. “How could you be laughing, you could have died,” She said now sitting on the edge as she had a sad expression on her face. “Hehe sorry, sorry… But really if it meant that I knew you were safe I was well prepared to die,” You answered as suddenly Keqing was now gently hugging you and the soft sound of her crying reached your ears. “You idiot, you can’t go dying on me! I’m sorry, I’m so sorry for how cruel I was to you and all those harsh things I said to you. I love you so don’t try throwing your life away for me!” she spoke, carefully hugging you firmer. It brought a relief to you to hear that she still loved you so in return you put a hand on her back and rubbed it in a comforting manner. “It’s alright I never held it against you, though if it makes you feel better then I forgive you… I will always protect you, you’re the love of my life,” you responded with a soft smile. Having begun the mending of your relationship you two shared a short kiss before Keqing brought over some food and medicine for you to take; it would take time for you to get better, but at least you were still alive.

Finding out You're in the Fatui

Characters: Jean, Childe, Keqing, Albedo, Diluc, Xiao

Diluc:

Whatever way he finds out he’s very upset; he trusted you, he fell in love with you yet now he finds out you’re with the enemy? He’s fearing that everything that’s happened between the two of you was a lie, that you just used him until you got what you needed. His brain is just in a storm of thoughts

He wants to believe that you’re good at heart, that all of this was because you didn’t have much of a choice. He’s going to ask questions, but more importantly he will offer you a way out: abandon the Fatui and just live with him he will vow to protect you and even find a safe area to work if employment was a concern of yours

If you accept his offer he’s glad that he didn’t have to lose you, he loves you too much and it’d be just too sad for him to have to cut ties with you especially since you’re the first one he’s felt such strong feelings for

But if you refused and you made it clear that you willingly joined the Fatui, he’s absolutely heartbroken. He’d probably start crying out of how painful the reality of the situation was and try to beg you to leave and stay with him. He does not have the heart to even consider having to fight you, he didn’t want to harm you yet here you were showing a completely different side to you that not even he caught onto

Xiao:

He is enraged at the new information when he finds out. He curses himself for being so blind and having trusted you as much as he did. How could he be calm about this; you played a hand in the fall of the archon he served under, the archon that saved him from his horrible past and gave him a new purpose in life. How could he ever forgive you for such a betrayal

Though he refuses to bloody his hands with those of mortal blood, he will lash out and attack you. His heart hurts as how could he let this happen, he loved you yet was this the world’s way of punishing him for his past he could only wonder

If you plea to him to listen to your explanation he’s conflicted; you were either telling the truth or you were lying to just buy yourself some time… But he stopped and kept a safe distance from you as though you hurt his trust in his heart he still very much loves you so if there was a glimmer of hope that you can be saved he would be willing to listen to judge for himself. His expression softens when learning that you essentially got forced and trapped into working in the Fatui and at that point he is willing to keep you with him which mainly consisted of you living at the Wangshu Inn with him

However if you confirm that you’re in the Fatui of your own choosing he’s hurt, but he’s already withdrawing his own emotions so it didn’t get in the way of his duties. You’re no longer the mortal he fell in love with, you were just another mortal trying to use him for your personal gain. He’ll warn you to never to return and that you are no longer permitted to call out his name because from that moment on you were enemies

Albedo:

Deep down he didn’t want to accept the possible fact you were potentially bad. There were small things you did or said that made him slightly skeptical of you yet he overlooked them because he was in love with you, there was something that always made him so curious and so fascinated with you. You never judged him, you were patient with him, as you even put yourself at risk with plenty of his experiments

Of course this conversation was in the privacy of his lab in Dragonspine, surely there was no need to have a big scene be made especially when he wanted to simply hear what you had to say for yourself. He’s very composed and calm for someone who’s feeling this pain in his chest at the fact that you’ve kept this from him for so long

If you were truly innocent it saddens him to hear how you were stuck paying off a debt that wasn’t even your own and that was the only reason why you were stuck in the predicament that you’re in. Surely there had to be some way to hide you from the Fatui right? Maybe not up there in Dragonspine since there were already so many of the agents scouting the mountains, but maybe he could ask Jean if you could stay with him; however, that then led to another possible problem. If he tried to explain the details the fact that you were associated with the Fatui, Jean might just want to arrest you for interrogation which he might have to simply keep that knowledge to himself for the sake of your safety

But at any time you're telling your story he will call you out on something if he feels you weren’t being truthful. Hearing that you were a third generation agent he came to understand that it was initially a family legacy to uphold; rather unfortunate but oddly enough he still didn’t look down on you for that. Of course he’s unsure of what to do as things are surely to be complicated now, but how could he come to really see you as the enemy when he loves you

Regardless of the case, he will continue to stay with you; however, he’ll take a few precautions to insure his own safety. He won’t be sharing details of things he’s working on, no more asking to help with experiments (unless they’re just something mundane and nothing too serious), but other than that he just can only hope that you will continue to be truthful from there forth

Childe:

You are his favorite and it’s very obvious to everyone in the Fatui. You are just about the only exception out of all the agents that he will go a little bit easy on when it comes to missions not going accordingly. He love you to bits and surely made sure that you knew he was serious about your twos relationship

You are not allowed to go on missions with the other Harbingers, Childe is very keen on having you accompany him and only him on missions. He also personally sees to your training because he sees the potential in you and it just seemed like the other agents who are in charge of training don’t seem to up to the level that best benefited you

You get spoiled a lot, he also makes sure to always praise you after any mission or task you do: you had a minor task to go collect a debt? Childe will tell you a job beautifully done. You were away on a big mission that had to do with looking for evidence of the whereabouts of another archon? He’ll tell you how proud he is and how much he loves you. He will make a request the Tsaritsa to bestow a delusion onto you; cuz surely if one of her Harbingers is speaking so highly of someone truly they are worthy of her gift

There was already so much to love about you already but ever since he found out how good you were with his siblings he knew that you were the one for him. He can trust you to look after his siblings to keep them safe since they already know that you are his significant other (but of course have no clue either of you work in the fatui). You two are in Liyue and Teucer suddenly appears out of nowhere: you’re already prepared to take care of and look after the younger brother. Childe just loves how good you are with him and it shows how much Teucer likes you too. Childe only wish that he could marry you the next day (something he says often to you)

Jean:

Needless to say she was distraught when she stumbled upon you speaking in a hushed tone with La Signora in the dead of night in an alleyway during her patrol. She didn’t know what to think but of course she wanted to confront you yet she’d stay hidden and wait till you were alone which didn’t help her spiraling thoughts wondering if you had been with the enemy this whole time and what the two of you had was just pretend to you

The moment the coast is clear Jean will come out of hiding and stand tall with her arms over her chest though the expression on her face does not match the rest of her body language. She knows she should keep this professional without getting her emotions involved, but how could she not when it was you; you were her lover so naturally she can’t help it

You knew you were in trouble as you could have hightailed it the other way, but you knew it would only make matters worse though also even if you had run now you’d have to face her eventually so what was the point. You answered whatever question she asked you; Though Jean did have a slightly difficult time being able to tell when certain replies you gave were possibly a lie. It pains her to have to consider breaking up because she did love you yet how could she love someone that could pose a great threat to her home that she’s sworn to protect; would probably have you put into custody for a while just to fully ensure that you weren’t just a spy or scheming behind the knights of favonius’ back

You of all people did Jean not expect to have such a high standing in the Fatui; you weren’t just some agent to be stationed there, you were a younger sibling of one of the harbingers overseeing everything the agents did. It made everything all the more painful for Jean as she thought she finally found someone who understood her and loved her despite her business along with her flaws, but she started to doubt your relationship. She’d have to take you in for further questioning to see what information you’ve leaked out, but when you made a run for it Jean knew she should chase after you yet… She let you escape, she didn’t want you getting hurt as for this one time will she let you do so; however, if you two crossed paths again unfortunately you’d give her no other choice but to warrant your arrest

Keqing:

She’s surprised at the fact that you’re associated with the Fatui, but of course she’s going to act as if it doesn’t bother her or hurt her in the slightest (though we all know just how badly she’s hurting on the inside). She knew it was too good to be true that you so happened to share the same ideologies and that you got along so beautifully.

She has put so much trust in you that she’s brought you up to the Jade Chamber with her to have peaceful tea time dates a couple of times before its destruction. Yet you made her look like a fool, as even if you never intended to hurt her or betray her, Keqing takes it very personally even if her love for you runs deep

Regardless whether or not you were good of heart that was trapped serving the Fatui or truly was lying about everything and using her that whole time she will coldly cut you off. She’s putting on her tough act saying how she simply cannot love a traitor that has put liyue in harm's way

It’s not until she’s alone or possibly just with Ganyu that Keqing breaks down into tears sobbing over her heartbreak. Nothing hurt more than letting you go, how she wanted to give you that second chance, but she couldn’t let love cloud her judgement, as maybe one day in the future you two could be together, but for now she’d need time to heal though she probably never really gets over you

Can you write headcannon for streamer! Ayaka and Kazuha react a new character trailer (in that case, reader)?

Omg absolutely I can! I also decided to put in Yoimiya because why not (also I really love her so I had to put her in)

Ayaka:

Back when the model of your character got leaked she was very interested in you as you were so charismatic. There wasn’t much info besides that you would be a cryo sword user

However now that Inazuma was coming soon and word from her viewers that they had more to show about your character she was excited to see it

During one of her streams probably taking the moment to wait for some forging items or even a couple resin to replenish, she’d take the time to pull up the video to see your trailer. Needless to say seeing you fighting some hilichurls her eyes are sparkling

She is super excited when she sees that you turn to frost for your running since the only other character that did something similar to that was Mona

She’s very much in love with your character and as a player who doesn’t always spend money for banners, she will be making the exception for when you finally come out as she’d be happy to just get one; though if she is able to up your constellation she will also be very happy

Kazuha:

Of course as the Summer event was coming he wanted to watch the trailer with his viewers as he was more excited about getting to see you. He had seen pictures of you and knew as much that you were an anemo 5 star

While giving his few thoughts about the event that was to be released he also made a few jokes about the strings that were attached to the Maguu Kenki. He wasn’t too excited about fighting it, but since it would be for you he would fight until he had the materials needed for you

Finally getting to the scene where you show up he’s kind of bouncing in his seat like a little kid on a sugar high. He’s very ecstatic as maybe to some he was getting a little too excited but that didn’t matter to him because soon enough you will be playable

He’s another one who seldomly spends money as he’s very good about saving up for a character he wants to wish for, but also you are the exception that he is willing to spend money to ensure you at least come home. Maybe even going as far as getting your weapon cuz you looked really cool with it especially during your elemental burst

Yoimiya:

It wasn’t exactly a trailer but when her viewers told her that there were leaks of a bunch of characters that would be showing up in Inazuma it piqued her interest. So needless to say she was going to take her time during her stream to go through some of the leaked footage and pictures to check out what is expected to come

There were a few characters that she thought were pretty good; however there was one in particular that she fell in love with: you. You looked so cute and cool as your aesthetic was based around fireworks, how cool was that

Just when she didn’t think there couldn’t be any more to love when seeing one of your idle animations with the sparkler her heart melted, you looked so happy! Your attacks were so cool as it was really different from other characters. She’s someone who will spend money on a banner for a character she really wants and she definitely plans on doing so for you and try to fill your constellation; then if she’s able to then maybe she’d try for your weapon

“come here!” she laughs at you, a hand outstretched in your direction. her eyes sparkle and she has the brightest smile adorning her face. she looks so happy, so carefree and you can’t help but smile too. you take her hand and she tugs you with her.

she’s always been so lively, so bright, even her own creations seeming dull around her. she was always the shiniest of them all, the prettiest.

you look at the way she laughs with children and the way they stare at her, toothy smiles and messy hair. she’s talking with almost everyone and the way they seem to lit up for a mere second when she chats with them is mesmerizing. she never stops walking though, seemingly still leading you somewhere. she wasn’t called the queen of the summer festival for nothing, you briefly think.

“where are we going?” you ask, holding her hand harder. you were afraid of loosing her in the crowd.

when the two of you approached the school, you could sense the sudden change in hu tao's aura. she was far more cheerful than usual, her eyes glimmered in the moonlight, reflecting the light from the moon. you shook your hand, being dragged inside. the female knew she had to confess at some point, and so she decided to do it here. sure, it'll be awkward if you were to reject her- but, at least it wouldn't hurt as much.

"reach into my basket." she hummed, handing out to you her basket - which was filled with candies even before you got an attempt to help her with it. your eyes widened in confusion, and yet you listened to her, slipping your fingers into the basket. your fingers soon brushed against a piece of paper, which you had soon picked up.

"i am sure, i'll be fine." you reassured him, squeezing his shoulder gently in the process. you then made your way towards the center of the room; getting ready by stretching yourself before standing in the intial fighting position. kazuha was hesitant for a moment, but ended up giving in the more you insisted. he then stood in front of you before with a sigh. "let's test your self defense skills."

kazuha has seemingly underestimated his own strength, seeing as you fell onto the ground after he swung his leg towards you. a soft groan escaped from your lips, the male immediately rushing to your side. "i-i'm sorry." he began to speak frantically. "i didn't mean to harm you. i- i love you."

you opened your mouth to protest, to tell him you were fine. but; you froze when you had suddenly processed his sudden confession. it seemed like he too, caught onto that - his face immediately turning red. "anyways," he coughed out, his eyes refusing to meet yours. "let's work on you self defense skills."

now, this is a tricky one.

this man is stone-cold, and somehow you managed to befriend him.

all because he was your partner in a school project.

the two of you sat in his house and worked on the project - you were a bit more talkative than he was.

he would usually respond with nods and hums.

somehow, the more you spent time with him - the more he grew closer to you.

he soon realized that he was in love with you; especially when he had a weird, unexplainable feeling inside of him when he was around you.

the two of you had another project, this time each student alone. however, he decided to help you.

what you didn't expect though, was the confession in the end.

"here is your work, (y/n)." diluc approached you in the morning, holding a small book containing your work in his hands. "thank you, diluc. i hope this wasn't a burden for you." you responded, smiling gently as you took the book into your hands. you were rather curious - though you wrote most of it - there were parts that he himself wrote as a way to help you.

your fingers trailed across the small book before opening it, your eyes scanning the papersheets. it was neatly printed; you were impressed. your computer was slow, thus it was a hassle to attempt. thankfully, due to being born into a wealthy family - he had countless of ways to print.

your eyes wandered across the content within, impressed by the information he had found himself. soon enough you reached the ending, a small note slipping out into your lap. your brow was raised in a questioning manner while the red haired man tensed. "what's wrong ?" you hummed, opening the note. to say that what was written there had surprised you was an understatement. it made you freeze in your spot, your face heating up.

She’s seen lot of deaths and experienced a few but never had she ever thought that’s he would have to experience yours, reminding her of her grandfather and when he passed. She wonders what she could have done to prevent this and Old Hu’s death. She hates this and wonders why it couldn’t have been her that had to depart from this life, wanting to take your place so you could have lived happily despite her being gone.

Despite your death she manages to put on a happy demeanor to cover the pain that was imprinted onto her after having to experience the pain from seeing you dead. She does however conduct your funeral with the help of your family (she tries to make it with everything you liked). She sits front row at the funeral, despite how much she tries to stop crying she can’t, she can’t bare to not mourn your death.

After having the funeral she keeps some of your stuff with her as a memory of you, sometimes she would even go to where you had to your first date or where you first met and would just find a place to sit or whatever and remember all the fun time she had with you. (Also taking into consideration that she probably has some sort of ptsd from seeing you dead). Nightmares keep her up at night because of everything to the point you could see dark circles and eye bags under her eyes if she didn’t cover them good with makeup. Even then she still manages to keep a happy facade, like you wanted her to. (She probably doesn’t move on after a while though)

Hu Tao won't notice that you're upset at first, in her usual playful attitude until your voice cracks as you ask for a hug, no longer able to keep up pretending to be fine.

Her hugs are so warm, and she has a hard time letting go once she's started hugging you! She won't let go until she knows you're feeling better, she can't stand someone so close to her feeling like this!

Hu Tao will try and crack jokes to also try and get your mind off of whatever is upsetting you, although how affective they are depends on your sense of humor!

Hu Tao laughed at her own joke, when she stopped, noticing you were no longer by her side. "Huh? Y/n, what are you doing?" She turned around to see you standing there, unable to meet her eyes although she could see tears glistening in yours and she felt a pang of guilt for not noticing earlier. "Ah, is everything okay?"

It wasn’t like the others were much better, the Crux had run into trouble — albeit carrying important passengers such as the Yashiro Commission's Kamisato Ayaka and Thoma, even the Raiden Shogun (much to a certain poet’s annoyance and distaste) and the ever-loyal Kujou Sara, even the Anemo archon himself, who is known for his care-free nature, was running around the premises fixing a few of his last-minute arrangements, all while the Ordus Favonius finalized the preparations for your escorting with the help of the Millelith and other high-ranking officers from around Teyvat. The halls of the palace, courtesy of Zhongli and Albedo who spent weeks using their powers and knowledge to create the most serene and prestigious building they could humbly offer you, were all but bustling with chatter and high energy — maids and servants of the highest caliber ran around cleaning and fixing what was out of order, chefs and cooks from all corners of Teyvat prepared their dishes and finished their courses.

It had been a long, long time since Dragonspine had been this lively.

His thoughts are broken by a high-pitched voice, one he’d grown to associate not with its owner but rather her companion, shouting his name. As a man who’d lived over six millennia, it took the former archon much self-control not to turn around and tape the floating “emergency food”’s — as she had been so nicely nicknamed by the Traveler — mouth shut and trap her in a crystal for a good hundred years; there wasn’t a moment to spare, not to mention they should be watching over you and not prancing around.

“Zhongli, Zhongli!” Paimon’s voice rang and the aforementioned turned around and found himself standing face to face with Lumine and her friend, both looking excited and slightly panicked, a mix that set off alarm bells in the, slightly irritated, god's head.

“Hmm? Traveler, Paimon,” he acknowledged them, raising an inquisitive eyebrow as he took in their heaving chests and panted breath, what exactly could be so important as to have them leave their post - thought the former-archon, “shouldn’t you be looking over Rem*?”

There’s an accusatory tinge to his voice that has their floating companion’s eyes widen and let out a nervous laugh that has his heart stop in his tracks – a laugh like that from Paimon meant something, good or bad - big or small - happened, things shouldn't be happening –– not now.

“About that,” Paimon explains, a long pause hangs in the air before she whispers hurriedly, “they’re with Mister Albedo right now, you see– they’ve woken up and, well, there seems to be a tad bit of a problem…”

Albeit a whisper, it seems everyone must have heard, or maybe it was due to the sudden change in Zhongli's demeanor that caught their eye, because as soon as the words are uttered silence fills the once noisy halls. Questioning gazes are sent between guests and the people around the premises: had they heard right? Were you truly awake? Others note the last few words; a problem? Were you alright? Had they brought in the wrong person?

Some continue working while others are too stunned to continue their tasks, opting to gossip amongst themselves.

“They’ve woken up?” Zhongli asks again as if in utter disbelief, attempting to confirm what he’d heard; he’d waited for this day for so long, to have this news delivered to him, and yet he found himself doubting the words spoken to him. He turns a blind eye to the gawking gazes from the workers and focuses on trying to control his thumping heart.

“Yes.” Paimon laughs again, clearly uncomfortable by the atmosphere that now presented itself in the room, almost hoping everyone would turn around and go back to their tasks rather than ogle at the trio but she couldn't bring herself to blame them for their interest.

“Very well…” He pauses, trying to collect his thoughts and not to turn into the giddy mess his body wanted to become, “everyone; let’s hurry up, there’s no time to waste,” Zhongli says, his voice commanding - he doesn’t even spare anyone a glance, too doused on the adrenaline pumping through his veins as the news settled in, “do not disappoint our providence.”

After that, it doesn’t take long before Venti, who’d overheard the news from his hiding spot as he tried to rid himself of some responsibility, and himself are running down the intricate hallways to find you. The next few hours after your awakening had been meticulously planned, they were originally meant to meet you with their fellow archon, and yet they can’t help themselves but be drawn to you.

Beelzebub would be mad, not only was she behind schedule but she wouldn’t witness their god’s first waking moments but honestly, Barbatos didn’t mind nor did Morax.

When they arrive at your chambers, a temporary accommodation - of course (as they all wished you move into their respective regions), they’re greeted by your puzzled stare. Your figure was almost lost in the sea of silks and pillows that had been laid around you but your aura was too strong, it was impossible not to recognize who you were.

“Your highness,” Venti awed, his eyes widened in admiration and disbelief – so many years chasing after you finally felt like they'd paid off, “you’re here, finally!”

It takes Zhongli, his long-time friend (and technically co-worker) to slap a hand on his shoulders and force him to stay put for him not to throw himself into the bed beside you and drown you in thousands of years of pent up love.

“Behave yourself,” he mutters just loud enough for Venti to hear, his stone-cold exterior betrayed by the golden glow in his eyes as he took in the sight before him, “your grace," he cleared his voice, "apologies for my companion and his sudden actions, we’re all simply overjoyed for your arrival.”

There’s a silence that seems like it’s meant to be your cue to say something but nothing comes to mind – your mind drowning in what you can only describe as a drunken haze –, something that wasn't particularly helped by the fact you had no idea what was happening.

“I’m sorry but,” you laugh awkwardly, hoping to alleviate the tension in the room, “what’s going on?”

This felt like a dream, a dreadful dream where you were seized in your sleep and taken to some sort of historic chateau and forced to play the role of a sovereign or divinity. You were surprised you hadn’t shrieked at the blonde woman who had been staring at your sleeping form when you’d woken up, you would have thought your reaction would’ve been more aggressive and confrontational - cuss words being cried and more throwing of cushions or even punches and kicks, instead - you timidly inquired about your locations, too drowsy (which would later be confirmed to be due to the liquid Albedo has you ingest earlier) and with little memory to react normally. The woman, whose name sounds familiar - Lumine -, answers with all but too much eagerness, her tone pleasant as she beams about how you’re in Dragonspine and Teyvat before an ocean of thanks are sent your way as she credits her achievements and efforts to you – some sort of deity in her life that had aided her in trying and tough times. Unfortunately, you can’t quite say you remember the woman in front of you — something that shocks her greatly and seemingly sends her into a panic when you inform her.

“Oh heavens,” she mutters, looking around in a panic, her previously joyous exterior now replaced by an uneasy look in her, honestly, soft and lovely face, “Albedo…”

She looks at you once more, golden-brown eyes filling with sorrow as she asks once more; “Are you certain you don’t remember me?”

“Or Paimon?” Her companion, a floating pixie of sorts, asks - her high tones contrasted by the downcast look in her eyes and your heart breaks at the sadness your words seemed to bring.

“I’m sorry but no.” You admit, your memory is all but a gray fog; your past feels dream-like, you remember being a student of sorts and working a job, some sort of family, and few friends, but everything felt like it was coated in a layer thick goo making it impossible to properly recognize or even tell apart what was fantasy from reality. You’re mortified to admit it but you don’t even really remember the faces of your parents or if you even have siblings or relatives at all, even less about any hobbies or interests, the only true indication something was off being the uncomfortable thumping of your heart — if it weren’t for that and your concerning lack of memory nothing would’ve felt too wrong at all.

A blond man came into the room after that, he'd been fetched by the two - who'd rush to find him, he carried a notepad and seemed confused - about what you didn’t know, you had little to no clue what was going on in your head, it was practically impossible for you to try and guess pretty much anything - he came to a halt beside the bed you laid in.

“Your highness, it’s an honor to finally meet you — I’m Albedo, Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius and your humble follower,” he bows, his turquoise eyes analyze you in, what you think is, marvel and affection once he stands back upright, “the Traveler told me you seem to be suffering from some sort of memory loss and since I’m the one who brought you here - it’s my responsibility and duty to look over your health, I'll make sure to see all matters that pertain to your health personally.”

“I… I see.” You murmur, overwhelmed by his looks and the words coming out of his mouth — neither made much sense to you but at this point, your head is pounding and you’re too weary to try and figure either out. How a man could look so handsome and elegant, yet adorable and pretty baffled you – much like the beauty Lumine seemed to unknowingly have.

He took a bunch of tools, none of which you were familiar with or looked particularly modern, and began examining you while the blonde woman left with her friend. It took him a couple of minutes before declaring nothing was wrong other than your seeming memory loss.

“We’ll perform a couple of tests to see what could have happened,” he says, he begins putting his things away before a thought seems to come to him having him correct himself, “if that’s what you want, of course, if you find my analysis wrong - please tell me.”

“I think you're right,” you nod, “...and it'd be nice to fix it.”

It’s then when the two figures come into the room followed by Lumine and you find yourself where we started a while ago.

“It seems they’re suffering from some sort of amnesia,” Albedo explains to the two confused men, “their memories aren’t clear and it seems like they don’t recall much.”

“And how did this happen?” Venti asks, his voice shaking — did his god not remember him? All of the sacrifices and vows he took in their name?

“We’re not sure, it might have to do with them being asleep for so many years,” the alchemist sighs, “or it could be that they were away from Teyvat for too long, it’s possible that when they came back their memories were affected — whatever the case is, I’m sure it’s not irreversible.”

The archon nods, though it’s clear they’re attempting to mask their disappointment.

“Well, if that’s the case,” the shorter god exclaims, clapping his hands in an attempt to cheer up the mood, “then we better fill them in!”

“Right,” amber eyes break away from you, finally allowing you to breathe, “if I’m not mistaken, dinner should be ready too, I’m sure you must be hungry.”

Zhongli turns to address you, his eyes take a sudden glow; one filled with love and admiration and you’re taken aback, you instinctively want to shield yourself away from the intensity in his eyes but force yourself to nod - albeit stiffly.

“I… I guess.” You mumble – you hadn’t been paying much attention to your body - you weren’t starving but eating something would be nice, you think to yourself.

“Lumine,” Venti looks at the outlander, “go tell the others to set the table while we prepare our highness for dinner.”

"We haven't introduced ourselves," the taller male realizes, his eyes widening in embarrassment, he coughs into his hands before bowing – similarly to how Albedo had done, "My name is Zhongli, though you might have remembered me as Rex Lapis or Morax – I'm the former geo archon in charge of Liyue, and the oldest of your followers. I want to humbly thank you and, if you would allow me, serve you for as long as I am of use to you."

"I'm the archon in charge of Mondstad, Barbatos the anemo archon, though I have been going by Venti," the short bard follows his friend's suit, bowing down as a sign of respect, "I want to thank you, not only for your blessings but the protection you have extended to Mondstad. For as long as you want me to, I am honored to serve you personally."

"There's no need to bow," you wave your hands nervously, shocked by the humble actions performed by the two men, "and there's nothing to thank me for... I have no idea what you're even talking about."

"That's only because you've lost your memory," Morax said, "it's only natural we attribute the good in our life to your kindness."

"And don't try and argue us on that," Venti smiles, "now, let's go! We should be getting you ready for dinner~"

You’re led to a luxurious bathroom, one you’re certain isn’t yours based on how expensive and elegant everything looked - albeit a bit old fashioned, maybe extremely old fashioned -, and told to strip bare and climb onto an already, suspiciously to your liking, prepared bathtub that’s probably bigger than any tub should be.

"You two will be here?" You ask, you had thought they'd escort you and wait outside yet neither made a move to leave.

"We can't," the amber-eyed archon cleared up, "we need to make sure nothing happens, it would be a tragedy if anything were to happen to you and we weren't there to prevent it or help you; we wouldn't be able to forgive ourselves."

You stared at them baffled, you might not remember much of your life prior to these last few hours but you were certain you were in no position of power or significance to need such care and attention.

"It's not like I would die if you weren't here, though, I won't fall over and hit my head and, like, bleed to death underwater." You mutter under your breath, it was getting hard not to be overwhelmed by the amount of care and detail they seemed to dedicate to you – it's almost as if they thought you'd touch the water and evaporate!

It seems your words only concern them more, the mere thought of your death seems to have caused Zhongli an internal heart attack as he tries not to lose his composure – Venti's eyes widen almost comically as he tries to convince you to let them stay.

"Your grace, don't even say that as a joke!" Venti pants, as if in physical pain, "W-we have to stay here and look over you! You can't be left alone because... what if you do fall underwater a-and bleed to death, we wouldn't be able to live and -!"

“Fine, fine!” You finally comply after Venti almost bursts into tears, "Just, turn around while I get ready!"

You don’t quite understand why you’re doing as you’re told, then again — you didn’t understand much at all. You slip off the sleeping garments and awkwardly make your way into the tub, the water splashing and signaling the men to turn around and make their way to service you (much to your embarrassment).

"You don't have to do this," you squeak when you feel long fingers find their way to your shoulders, "I can wash myself, t-thanks!"

"Please," you hear a deep voice near the shell of your ear and you almost jump into the water, "I've wanted to do something like this with you for such a long time."

"And you're pretty tired, right?" A sing-song voice peaks beside you, "Why don't you let us take care of you?"

"... Okay." You let out, trying not to enjoy the feeling of their hands massaging away your stress.

"Ah," you hear Venti moan, excitement evident in his voice, "you're too kind to us~"

A few minutes go by of pure silence, the only sound is the rustling of the water and soap against your skin.

“When can I go home?” You ask, finally breaking the silence, you might not remember much and you were certainly growing to enjoy the pampering but you know this is not your home; though familiar, as are the faces that surround you, you just feel it somewhere deep in your gut that this isn’t where you belong nor where you’re from.

“Hmm? Your grace,” the bard laughs, his voice as charming and delicate as a dandelion floating in the wind, “but you are home.”

“I’m not,” you shake your head, a million and one reasons as to why this isn’t your home come to your head and yet you find articulating them hard, like a child struggling to reason with a parent, “Why don't I remember anything?”

The thought bothers you greatly, the lapse in memory - this vast blank space that now resides in your mind - aggravated you, it made you feel as if you were less you than before, your memories were vague and they left an ache in your body; you felt incomplete.

“It must be distressing,” Zhongli agrees with you, his hand comes to rest against your bare skin, “but you’re safe, no harm will ever come to you here - we’ll accompany you until your memory returns and continue to do so afterward.”

“Zhongli is right,” Venti nods enthusiastically, “you’re the most precious person in Teyvat, your happiness and safety will always be our priority.”

There it was again – those names that felt familiar.

“Exactly, Beelzebup, Barbatos, and I will always be there for you,” Zhongli says, “even if this doesn’t feel like home to you today, eventually it will.”

Morax, Barbatos, and Beelzebup, Lumine, and Albedo — why did they sound so familiar? Like something you should know, like something you knew but forgot, it was such a distressing feeling it made you want to scream.

“Is something the matter? You look concerned.” Venti asks, his hand resting upon your bare shoulder as if trying to ground you.

“No, not at all,” you shake your head, they don't seem to believe it so you add, “I’m just tired, that’s all – it's just been very eventful.”

They nod in understanding, your lackluster answer seemed to be enough, before resuming washing you – fresh smelling soaps and fragrances were used with no hesitation, all which looked particularly expensive much to your surprise – it felt wrong to have such luxuries used on you. You notice that their touches are delicate, not too soft but not too harsh, almost a fleeting in their contact but concrete enough you knew they had happened - they kept treating you as if you were a doll made of the finest of porcelains and you’d crack under the slightest of pressure; which, considering you had two gods, and one of them is known as the Ruler of War, who'd fought their fair shares of battles and wars it’s safe to say that there was a chance you’d break if they weren’t careful (even if they tried to convince themselves they couldn’t possibly harm you).

Something (read: your health being affected) neither they nor Teyvat, in its current state, could handle — not when changes seemed to be coming from all horizons and especially when they’d been waiting nothing short of several millennia for your arrival. It stood without a doubt to everyone, even those that didn’t believe in you as God, that you were perhaps the most important person in the continent, a being whose mere existence meant more to the earth and the ones walking on it than any other had or ever would.

By the time you’ve stepped out of the bath and re-dressed in new clothes, which you can only call more “period” or “world” appropriate, you’re given a couple of minutes to yourself.

"We'll be waiting outside your door to escort you," the geo archon says, his posture almost mimicking that of a butler, "call us when you're ready."

They soon left you alone with your thoughts and a pounding headache that ambushed you.

From the moment you’d gained consciousness, you’d been victim to, what felt like, a wave of headaches that came and went as they willed. Your overridden senses had blocked most of the pain out, the constant new stimulation of new parties and their reactions in addition to your lack of awareness and dizziness left little to no time for your brain to process the pounding headache that is currently tormenting you – it was almost as it was attempting to make up for the time it hadn't been there.

The bed you’d once laid in had been made, its sheer size and luxurious look overwhelmed you — you rack your brain in an attempt to figure out the multiple questions that plagued your mind; where on earth were you? What was Teyvat or Dragonspine? Who were Barbatos, Beelzebup, and Morax? Why did their names and Lumine’s sound so familiar? Who brought you here?

Who were you?

Were you truly some sort of respected being? Were you originally from here at all? All memories, all vague and messy memories, you had depicted you living an almost horribly mundane life, one where you were just another faceless person in the sea of society. No luxuries, no titles, little to no friends, was there even a family? This was a world so different from the one you seemed to have come from, filled with people you simply didn’t recognize, and yet here you were, practically shoved into a situation you didn’t understand nor consent to.

You sniff as you feel tears well in your eyes, you let yourself flop into the bed, the same that felt foreign on your skin but was seemingly made for you; you were crushed.

Your questions were ignored or you couldn’t even voice them, too scared and bewildered to even make a peep. That and the fact that when you’d finally gotten the chance to be with people who seemed to at least have some idea of what was going on your brain seemed to give out on you - giving in to the peer pressure and letting them do as they pleased -, you wanted to slap yourself and berate your idiotic, foolish actions.

“A dinner where my question will be answered,” you mutter, remembering the offer made by Zhongli, “…”

If you were honest, dinner didn’t sound particularly appetizing – not with how sick to your stomach your worries made you – but you wanted answers, desperately so. You sough once more, you take a glance at the room, making sure to note if anything looked fake - like a set for some television show - hoping this was maybe a cruel prank -, before making way to stand up and call for one of the two men who’d been assisting you, as they put it, when something catches your eye.

A couple of feet away from the bed laid a vanity, one you hadn’t paid much mind to at all before, but it currently seemed to emanate a certain glow, it was mesmerizing with the way it seemingly dyed its surroundings a captivating purple and you find yourself almost not noticing the pair of amber-brown eyes that minded you through the glass.

“…!” You gasp, instinctively climbing back into the bed and far away from the vanity — a blond man looked at you, his face youthful and reminiscent of Lumine’s, his eyes were somber yet they held a tinge of hope as they softened at your shocked reaction.

“It’s alright,” the man says, he raises a gloved hand and touches his side of the mirror, “I just wanted to see you, I won’t harm you - ever.”

You almost want to reach out to him, walk up to the vanity and mimic his movement to see if you could touch him; “… Where am I?”

You unconsciously crawl the bed to get a closer look at the figure speaking to you – had you lost your mind?

“Hmm, they haven’t told you?” He inquires, his eyebrows furrow — you don’t question why he knows there are multiple people.

“No,” you add quickly, almost as if trying to defend them, “but they did say I’m in Teyvat.”

“Then you know.” He looks at you quizically, as if that were the answer to all of your questions and you were foolish for not knowing it.

“I’m supposed to know,” you insist, growing slightly agitated — why did everyone assume you knew and get disappointed when you didn’t instead of telling you, “but I don’t, I don’t even remember what happened before I got here, damn it and no one has tried telling me either, I'm just – ugh!”

“Please, calm down, I'll explain it for you,” the man sighs and his voice suddenly takes a softer tone, "it must be upsetting to not know and I don't blame you for being annoyed," he’s deep in thought before continuing, “Teyvat is another continent from yours, it’s, how can I say it, simply another world. You were brought onto Teyvat because they,” he motions behind you, “think you’re their God.”

”Me as their God?” You want to laugh, a god? You? Please, you’d make a better clown than a god, “Are they… are they insane?”

“Probably,” the man laughs, your heart skips a beat at his smile, “at least now you know where you are.”

“And another world? How is that… why?”

“It’s just how things are sometimes,” he doesn’t bother to try and explain it further and you don’t pry — it was all too much, “I know you probably don’t believe me, but things will become clear in due time.”

“You’re right, I don’t believe you,” you mumble, other worlds and godhood? You want to laugh.

“As I said, things will make sense eventually,” he shrugs, his next words confuse you, he seemed more relaxed than before, “if you ask me, while you’re certainly special, I don’t know if I think you’re Rem.”

“Gee, thanks.” You look away from him but still answer.

“Do me a favor,” he continues, paying no mind to your dry answer and clear doubt, he rests his cheek against his palm, “don’t tell anyone you met me.”

“If I told anyone a man in a mirror started talking about me being God and inter-world traveling I’m sure no one would believe me if I tried,” you finally return your gaze to the man.

Silence rings as you both stare at each other, seemingly taking in the other’s presence – it's not awkward, the silence feels comfortable and you find yourself quickly growing fond of the mysterious man.

“What’s your name?” You finally ask, and he lets out a chuckle before answering.

“Aether, and yours?”

“[Y/N]."

“It’s a nice name,” Aether comments though it seems like he might have already known it, “it's good to know you’re safe… take care until we meet again, alright?”

“You're leaving already?” Your heart suddenly feels heavy at the thought of the only person who'd attempted to explain and listen to you leaving, "... Take care too, Aether."

"... if you ever feel like things are too much with them," he adds, his voice turning serious once more as if detecting the sadness in your tone, "tell me and I'll take you away, darling."

After his curious words, he turns around after taking one last longing glance at you, and just like that he’s gone.

As you take in what had transpired in the last couple of hours, you feel yourself wanting to cry and simply sleep forever; from claims of godhood in your name to waking up in an unfamiliar bed, surrounded by strangers… that uncanny feeling of familiarity that gnawed at your mind, the encounter with a mirror man, and the fact you just… went along with everything.

You stand up, lazily rubbing your eyes and looking around, you hear your stomach groan – you're hungry –, it's then you remember the two men standing outside.

Weren't you just lucky a banquet was now being held in your name?

ALBEDO has never been the talkative type. social interactions and idle chitchat have never held a candle to his heart’s desire — the dream to accquire limitless knowledge left behind by scholars of the past. so when the last star in the sky finally explodes, he hugs you close in an embrace. he has remorse and regret for never being able to confess his heart to you, as his heart was not that of a human, but a mere experiment. in his mind, you should deserve to be with someone real — someone capable of loving, feeling and touching. it is all he wishes for. but in the last moments of oxygen, he allows himself to be selfish. as the world comes crashing down, albedo finally feels the humans’ selfish desire — love.

DILUC is but a mystery to the people of monstadt. most are not aware of why he had retreated into his own world, becoming more secretive and reserved. under that cold facade is a soul that has sworn to protect his city and people, mercilessly vanquishing all who dare threaten the peaceful paradies that is monstadt. to others, diluc is the epitome of perfection — successful, wealthy and strong. diluc has reached all the traditional markers of being successful. but to him, he has not yet even so glanced at the true success of life. diluc looks at you in bittersweet nonchalance. his heart falters in guilt as he realises, he has found success in you. ‘success’ is a debatable topic, most view it as getting wealthy or having fame. but to the few that have experienced the cruel realities — success is happiness. diluc finds his happiness in you. so as the world comes crashing down, a feeling of accomplishment laces his heart as he caresses your face for one last time.

XIAO lets it all out — all the words and worries he has been bottling up for the past millennium all out. xiao is a silent watcher, he is reserved and barely speaks when unneeded. there is a reason of this, he is afraid. xiao is afraid that he might say something wrong or hurtful, as many have expressed to him before. nothing good ever came out of his mouth, or so he thought. for eons, he has been alone. he was always alone when trekking the roads and mountains of liyue, alone when watching the sun set as a new dawn emerges, and alone when he is fighting back the evil karma. with that, none have been there with him — for him. but he finds his solace in you. xiao is not yet ready to really speak his mind and tell you how much he adores you, as his mind tells him that you’ll leave one day, forgetting all the love he had allowed himself to give. but, with your guidance, he is slowly getting used to talking about his day, talking about his feelings and his concerns. it is in your embrace that he tries to become a better person — for you. as the walls cave in and the screams of help silence, it is in your touch he finds it safe enough to let it all out. as the world comes crashing down, he whispers bittersweetly, “i love you.”

"alright everybody, listen up!" you shout desperately, wanting to get the attention of your noisy class. albedo, who was beside you, had already covered his ears, preparing for the chaos that was about to happen.

"tartaglia, please be quiet." you rub the side of your face as you pointed at him.

"as if i'll allow myself to listen to a bunch of officers my age! you're not the boss of me o esteemed class presi—"

"could you at least show some decent respect?" diluc said, turning to face the back of the classroom where childe was seated.

"yeah! you entitled piece of shit!" venti shouted and pointed at childe.

"hey! no swearing!" you put your finger to your lips, "you're gonna get in trouble for that!"

"ehe..."

"could we all just listen to the officers? it's pathetic how we're high school students, but we have to be treated like grade schoolers by the more mature people of the class. grow up," lumine said (very coolly), not even having to move in her seat for everyone to keep quiet.

"thank you," you cleared your throat before turning to the board, writing '3-1 christmas fair ideas' in all caps.

"so," you took a deep and tired breath, "the student council is holding a christmas fair, and all classes are expected to come up with a creative fund raiser. the funds will go to partner communities in need as part of the school's christmas drive project. so uh, this period is allotted for confirming our class activity, planning, and assigning work for each class members. any questions?"

aether raised his hand.

"yes aether?"

"are each classes limited to only one activity? what if we do two activities for extra funds?" he suggested.

"hm, i think there aren't restrictions, but i could ask the council president right now while you guys list down ideas." you turn to albedo, handing the marker. he nodded in agreement to take over as you hop off the platform.

"you can all go crazy with suggesting; i'll go to the office while albedo lists down ideas."

you enter your classroom once again after successfully confirming that, unfortunately, jean said only one activity was allowed per class, since each classes across the school is also expected to each have unique activities.

"guys—" the class was absolute chaos.

"why do you even want to do a maid cafe? that's so cringe, venti!" diluc said. you turn to albedo for an explanation, but he could only look at you and defeatedly shrug.

"well, we could always do a cafe without maids; like a bar, but no alcohol," kaeya suggested.

"but bro, that's so uncreative!" childe commented; he's in his thinking position, trying to come up with something better.

"oho, can blockhead think of anything better?" kaeya retorted.

in the corner of the classroom, xiao and aether were having a peaceful conversation.

lumine on the other hand, was about to stir up more chaos. "listen! listen. a host club."

the class went silent.

"soooo," you make yourself known, "about the two activities, i was wrong; only one activity per class is allowed."

"albedo!" lumine pointed, "host club!"

albedo wrote it legibly on the board, along with the other suggestions made thus far.

"hm, i suppose that's a pretty good number of suggestions. any more to add?" you ask the class, to which most either ignored or shook their heads in answer.

"let's vote already then. the sooner we submit, the more chances what we want to do will get approved."

"everyone who votes host club, raise you hand," albedo said.

and of course, whether begrudgingly or not, almost everyone raised their hand.

it actually starts under the cut!

lumine + aether

- they work in pairs. do not separate.

- lumine looks absolutely stunning in a suit (aether does too but lumine hits different), and unknowingly became very popular

- their table is crowded!! they're slowly overtaking the fan favorite

- people are attracted to their dynamic and interactions since lumine plays as the older sibling, and it's hard not to find aether cute when lumine seemingly babies him

- if you order a lot, they'll perform a christmas duet for you!

- one of their costumes during the duration of the host club was matching christmas elves

- even though the two of them are really busy doing their own part of the task at hand, they do make sure to ask how you are every now and then

- they know that organizing the class event is an extremely difficult task, so they try their best to show their appreciation of your hard work every so often :D

diluc

- the bartender that, to his misfortune, accidentally turned into a host

- he was literally just supposed to make and provide drinks considering he has experience from his father and their business

- but it somehow turned into people looking forward to entering your little host club in order to see diluc make a drink for them

- "may i take your order? we have a special promo going on, apparently," diluc tries his best not to sigh, "if you order a drink and a snack, i'll give it to you with a wink."

- venti came up with it and through your convincing (that diluc could not resist at all), he tried it

- you were the first tester, and as soon as you saw his wink, you just had to make it a special promo

- worked very well, to say the least

- diluc sees you standing most of the time, either greeting guests or walking around to supervise, so he tries to remind you to take a break at least every hour

- would give you a drink and a free wink and smile just to make you sit down and eat

venti

- everyone thought he was just kidding when he said he wanted to be a host; basically no one took him seriously except you

- he's a very good host though, to everyone's surprise

- he's sort of the idol within the group of hosts; he sings a lot for the people at his table, and if requested, he'd even play an instrument for them!

- he'd also often ask guests he's particularly fond of to dance with him while the others clap (you, eula, and amber were victims of this)

- he kisses the guest's hand and takes a bow in front of them after dancing, especially when it seemed like they were shy while doing so, and that's why he's so popular with the crowd

- he once started a tumult by offering a toast for you

- "i offer a toast!" venti shouted, garnering the attention of the people not only on his table, but from the other tables as well. "a toast to our beloved class president who helped organize this event!" queue the shouts of applause and clinking of glass

- you were so embarrassed because it was so sudden and random, but now you get random messages of gratitude and "merry christmas, manager, haha!" every now and then, so you guess it's heart warming...

kazuha

- he's from a different class, but he is your close friend, so he checked on you and your activity

- he's the vice president of class 3-3, so during the early days of the school year, you bumped into each other when the two of you accidentally entered the wrong venue for the leadership meeting

- you've became close friends ever since, often updating each other about leadership activities and other things that class officers have to attend

- he was with you when venti declared the random toast, and he was just as confused as you when everyone started shouting your name

- he laughed when you turned red with embarrassment, and raised his own ordered drink when he finally understood what was going on

- tries to stop by as often as he can to check on your mental health,, because your whole batch knows: your class is the rowdiest and has a reputation for being the least well-behaved (a very sad reputation, i know 😔)

- he got you a gift on the last day of the christmas fair! it was also the last day of school before the christmas break, so he took the opportunity to do so

- "congrats on a successful christmas fair, [name]," he smiled, offering you the gift. "i hope you enjoy the holidays! though we might not see each other till next year, it would be nice if we stayed in touch through text."

albedo

- during the first day of the host club/christmas fair, you had a breakdown after being told that the student in charge of the design team got sick, delaying the setting up of the venue

- albedo helped you in maintaining the organization of the activity, and offered to lead the design team and recall the tasks you needed to do

- when you came back after checking on the hosts and helping them wear their costumes and props, you came back to a very organized and well-set venue

- he reminds you to relax and trust the process, and often asks you to share some of your burdens with him

- gets really jealous when you talk to another vice president that's not him *cough kazuha cough*

- the two of you probably spent the most time together during the christmas fair

- you go to other classes' activities together!! totally because of obligation and not because he wants to spend time with you, of course

- he offers to buy food for you when the class you're visiting set up a food stall

- the two of you are teased for being a couple because you two have intertwined hands/arms whenever you're outside checking out the activities throughout the school, but you quickly dismiss it while albedo just shrugs

- you once lost him in a crowd because he sort of just silently accepts when he gets pushed away, and though he tries to catch your attention when you're getting carried far away by the crowd, his voice gets drowned

- so the obvious solution is holding hands, duh!

- a waiter turned host because he became popular by accident

- usually bangs drinks heavier than usual when he's delivering to childe's table

- he doesn't like childe in the slightest, if it isn't obvious

- he does have his own table but a lot of people still ask for his pictures because he looks really nice in a waiter outfit, and very cute when he wears that christmas hat

- after everyone knew that you were the president/ organizer/ manager/ turning maid of the class, people started asking you to take pictures of them with xiao

- some who are too shy to ask even ask you to ask xiao for them

- when the crowd learned that you and xiao were actually close friends, they bothered you even more

- xiao would use his scary dog privileges to ask them kindly to leave you alone because you're busy with more important stuff

- you laugh and tell them it's fine and xiao's obviously joking but everyone took it very seriously

- he doesn't mind getting pictures but he'd rather be asked directly

- there was a day when you wore a christmas costume with the twins (yes it was also an elf) and he asked someone to take a picture of him with you this time

- ever since, you've been hearing rumors around that xiao has a crush on you, but was too scared to ask (and he was making neither confirmation nor repute)

- asked if you wanted to meet up some time during the christmas break during the last day of school

- "oh uh... your christmas gift, i'll just send it on christmas eve if you uh, don't mind."

- your relationship with childe is very weird (it's his fault smh)

- he's usually kind, or at least treats you normally when the two of you spend time together alone

- but for some reason, whenever you're doing officer duty, he becomes more irritable? annoying? obnoxious? disagreeable? loathsome? okay i'll stop

- but he's genuinely a nice guy, maybe he just has some hatred for the student council and officers after being sent to the principal's office for unruly student behavior too much times

- he's really popular!! the host club was a really good time for everyone to see the tamer and friendlier side to childe

- they love it when he talks about how he takes care of his brother and all silently agree that he has malewife potential

- the time when you were dressed up as an elf, he invited you to go to his table, and since you had to supervise anyway, you agreed

- he introduced you as a host and tried to make you act as one too, and though you were embarrassed at first, some of the people present at the table actually thought you were really cute!

- THE FAN FAVORITE

- his table is crowded with people, and you always find yourself having to visit his table every once in a while to clear it of flowers and gifts

- you've dedicated your locker to keep all of the things that don't fit in his, to make sure no gift or flower gets wasted

- you usually help him and diluc transport all the flowers and gifts to their van by the end of each day too

- you were called to the principal's office one time during the christmas fair because of a very 'dedicated' fan of kaeya

- someone apparently reported that you were stealing kaeya's gifts and flowers behind his back (since you would usually take them away discretely and kaeya didn't pay attention most of the time)

- the news of you going to the principal's office spread wide, especially since your class knew of your absence— gossiping and talking amongst students is a magical force of it's own

- so when kaeya heard you were at the office getting your name tarnished for something so stupid and so false, he immediately barged out of the classroom and left everyone without a word

- he explains to the principal that you were only helping him, and you did it with full permission from him, and finally, you were dismissed

- apologized profusely because of having you go through all that useless business that just added to you already busy schedule

- gifted you flowers the next day

- "here, for yesterday. hey! stop laughing! i promise that's not from my fans, diluc can testify!"

scaramouche

- from class 3-2 (there are only three classes, btw)

- their activity is theatrical performance, which he is very good at, though it might not look like it

- invited you to watch prior the fair, and gave you a free ticket, saying that "your poor ass might not attend just because you're cheap" which you refute; you're going regardless if he invited you— you're gonna watch your other friends too!

- his performance was absolutely amazing together with the other class members (he dances really well)

- he once visited your class wearing his traditional inazuma costume for the play and everyone who watched their class's performance were so amazed to see him there too

- so he got really pissed when you should've been touring him around, but was instead bombarded with people asking to take pictures

- he lost his smile and composure when someone asked to wear his hat

- once it was peaceful and you managed to drag him away from the crowd, you asked if you could wear his hat as a joke

- but to your surprise he actually let you wear it

- "i think i understand why you like this hat," you say. it does its job to protect you from the whether, but it's also pretty refreshing and not too enclosed for the head to feel hot

- "you better give me a free drink for this one." "and you say i'm cheap!"

eula + amber

- part of class 3-2 too; amber's a script writer and director while eula is a performer/dancer!

- eula's the president and amber is the vice president, so you meet each other and became friends through leadership activities

- you toured them around one time after seeing they came, saying they wanted to support your class too after seeing you attended theirs earlier

- when you reached venti's area, he inevitably took this opportunity to take the hand of the dancer eula

- "why don't you dance with me, o performer from class 3-2?" "hmph. i suppose it wouldn't hurt."

- they absolutely made a stunning performance; the crowd was cheering on them and they were dancing as if there was music

- eula grabbed a hold of you, and you happen to be holding amber, so the two of you just got kind of got dragged to perform with venti and eula

- the four of you just enjoyed dancing to the claps of the crowd, and though you shyly stumbled here and there, it was undeniably, a really fun experience

- amber unfortunately had to go because of a next show, and eula needed to be on stand by for the next show, so the fun unfortunately came to a stop

kokomi + sara

- they were part of the student council, so you knew them through there

- part of class 3-3! the two of them found you and kazuha in the wrong venue after jean worried the two of you might have not been informed of the venue change

- you got a chance to catch up with them when you visited their class!

- their class has the least chaotic activity,, they basically just set up a gift shop, but what makes them unique kokomi's usage of each class member perfectly

- she suggested that gorou becomes a sort of adviser on what to give a specific person, while mona uses her astrology knowledge to tell whether the recipient is a good match for them if ever they're getting the gift for a crush (they're scarily very accurate in giving advice and intel)

- sara on the other hand suggested for yoimiya to put her pyrotechnics into good use and make safe and campus friendly sparklers, party poppers, and mild fireworks to sell in their small shop

- you have to admit that you used your connection with kokomi and sara to get discounts on the party poppers that your class wanted to get

- they invited you to stay at their shop for a while to catch up after seeing the absolute chaos at your class

- since they also had a polaroid rental, you bought sparklers and asked to buy a picture with the two of them before parting ways!!

- do not underestimate the power of polaroid pictures in making others jealous. *coughs in harem*

thoma + ayaka

- class 3-2 too

- when you learned that thoma was in charge of both moving props on stage, helping actors wear their costume, and touching up makeup, you'd be lying if you said you didn't wish you had him in your class

- ayaka looks absolutely gorgeous in her costume, and thoma did her beauty justice with the way he applied makeup

- the three of you met up backstage when all of you were having a break

- after asking about props and costumes and their process of preparing for the play everyday, thoma asked if you wanted him to put makeup on you just for fun

- ayaka, of course, second the motion, and you could not refuse when the two of them looked so willing to fix you up

- it was relaxing to say the least, that amidst a stressful day, ayaka was there practically giving you a head massage while fixing your hair, and thoma was carefully applying makeup onto your face, with a gentle dab here and there

- "oh! you're doing a look similar to scaramouche's i see," ayaka comments, looking at you with wide eyes

- "yeah! i thought the eyeliner would look well on them," thoma says proudly, and he sure was correct!

- you left their class looking like you had just performed, and though your class was a little disappointed you got pampered by class 2, they were not going to deny that they did an absolutely good job at doing it

ganyu + keqing

- class 3-2, part of the student council, ONE OF THE POPULAR KIDS OML

- they were going on rounds to keep each activity in check, and happened to meet you directly when they checked your class

- ganyu says it's doing great, but the critic keqing was, she said she absolutely hated how crowded it was, no offense

- you agreed though, there was no day that the venue of your class wasn't jam-packed

- so to continue your conversation, you just accompanied them, taking a walk outside as part of your break

- it was quite overwhelming to be receiving a lot of greeting as you walked by casually, and you had to remind yourself that it was of course because you were walking with one of the two most popular kids in school

- after you expressed that this christmas fair was indeed very tiring, they treated you to some ice cream away from the part of the campus that was occupied by a lot of people

- they also showed you a secret empty room that was always air-conditioned, saying you're free to use it under the council's permission if ever you needed to take a break from being around so many people <3

- since you wanted to support the christmas fair, you also checked out the activities prepared by the other batches, one of which was from the batch below you

- you were surprised that two classes actually banded together to achieve a sort of singular event

- class 2-1 were a class of performers, but they had one member who wanted to do a restaurant so bad

- class 2-2 on the other hand felt as if their restaurant idea was too plain

you guys weren’t anything, there was no relationship and no fucking happening but it was clear to pretty much anyone you’d ever met that there was tension (and lots of it)

you decided to go to the store with him one late evening and just fool around while shopping for useless items you knew you would need

he pushed you around the cart and through the isles, nearly hitting multiple people but you two were so happy that you didn’t care

giggles and fits of laughter erupted amongst you both as you bought cakes to smear on each other’s faces and played hide and seek

upon all the fun random shit you were doing though you did have to actually buy a few things, rummaging through the store trying to find where in the world your favorite shampoo could possibly be was surprisingly harder than you had expected

eventually you had found it and of course you had passed it multiple times, how did this even happen?

well the shampoo was on the very top shelf which you sadly could not reach, HOWEVER fear not as the worlds tallest ginger beanstalk is by your side!

though he got your shampoo you two were still slap happy and playing around like idiots which thus led you into nearly knocking him over, thankfully he was fine and didn’t fall on his ass but the shampoo bottle can’t exactly say the same

reaching down you got it and without even realizing you had made eye contact with childe, unintentionally your lips pouted and your eyelashes flicked at him

you didn’t even realize you did it, so you got the bottle and put it in your cart continuing to shop as though nothing happened

childe stood there for a good moment stunned, even if you only looked at him like that for a mere second how could he forgot about that? the gloss in your eyes and oh so inviting temptation of kissing your lips was too memorable for him to just forget about

leaving the store with your hands full of bags that contain (mostly) unneeded items you had glanced over at childe, he had been acting all weird since earlier

“hey… childe… is something wrong?”

he stopped walking and looked at the ground, you weren’t really sure what to do so you set your bags down and went to check on him

you couldn’t see his face so you tried to lean down to figure out what was wrong when suddenly your eyes widened at him pushing up against the store wall, his arms pinning yours to the side of your head and his breath on your neck left you frozen

“what do you think you were doing pulling that stunt back there?”

he started to kiss your neck sloppily, his teeth lightly nibbling at the skin in a way that made your head spin

“wha…what are you talking… about?”

you were barely able to get a sentence out with the way he made you feel lightheaded, he was so close and so warm that you couldn’t even bother to think of whether or not people would see you like this

“that trick you pulled looking at me like that, hmm you smell good… but don’t give me that look or i might just eat you whole”

his words going straight to your stomach made you whimper and due to his hands holding yours down you couldn’t cover your mouth in this position

he stopped for a second before coming face to face with you and kissing you roughly, his tongue not hesitating to breach your lips and play with yours

you tried your best not to moan into the kiss but with his tongue all over yours and his knee between your legs you didn’t really have a choice

breaking the kiss he pulled away and licked his lips, finally letting go of your wrists had grabbed the bags from the ground and started walking to the car leaving you on shock

albedo:

working in the lab all day was normal, it was part of your job after all however working THIS late was not in your job description

sucrose and albedo were yawning and soon the tiredness spread to you as well, as they say yawns are contagious

experiment after experiment with no decent results showing up was surely tiring, mixing these chemicals over and over again was starting to take a toll on you and left the lab for a short moment to get fresh air

the air in dragonspine was bitter, today though it didn’t nip as your skin as harshly as it usually did. perhaps it was a sign of good luck

the scene was beautiful, unlike any other in mondstadt. such a place as dragonspine was set in a perfect spot for icy views and glacial picturesque scenery, resting again the heater nearby you closed your eyes and before you knew it your lights were out

your eyes fluttered open to find a worried sucrose trying to get a response out of you

“(y/n)? (y/n) thank archons you’re awake, i’m heading home for the night. albedo wanted to make sure you were alright, you should go back into the lab and help finishing up so you can go home and rest.”

you embarrassingly give sucrose your thanks and head back into the lab with a slight redness on your face

albedo seems not to be paying much mind, instead opting to focus on his vile of ethylene glycol. you hesitated as you sat down at the counter and began to stir the calcium oxide with naphthalene

“is everything alright? you seem off, your breathing is at an abnormal pace and your temperate appears to be lower than expected.”

albedo questions you without even so much as looking up from his work, thought you can tell by the tone is his voice that he’d very clearly paying attention to not only you but every move you make

“oh, i’m sorry. i guess i’m just a bit ashamed for my improper etiquette…”

“there’s no need to be ashamed. assuming you got the proper amount of sleep last night it’s only reasonable you’d be exhausted from today’s work. in fact i’m quite impressed you came back into the lab even after sucrose left.”

you really didn’t know what to say, it seems he had no issue with your little situation. hearing him pass by it like that put a soft smile of your face, choosing to move on you continued forward with your experiment

after a little while you were beginning to get tired again, though you had slept for a little while the chemical work was hard and you knew you wouldn’t last long until you needed to go home

letting yet another yawn escape you a thick silence filled the air throughout the night, that is until albedo called out to you. his voice spoke through it crisp and clear and though slicing through it with a dagger making you perk up with interest

“(y/n) would you hand me the aluminum chlorohydrate to the left of you?”

shuffling from the counters and sliding the mixture you albedo you notice the dark circles until his eyes

“now, if all goes to what’s hypothesized we can assume that there will be a new chemical compound which causes the subject who drinks the concoction to experience a deduction in iron deprivation and an innate lack of-”

albedo turned you halting his words upon meeting your eyes, you had been studying the look on his face realizing that his skin seemed more pale and his lips were less saturated. a clear sign of sleep loss.

though you were looking at the evidence for lack of sleep you couldn’t help but notice how pretty albedo was, his porcelain skin and marble like eyes capturing your attention

“(y/n), is there a reason you’re looking at me like that?”

having been snapped out of your thoughts you’re confused, he was just talking about chemicals so why is he taking about you looking at him now?

“what do you mean?”

“staring me down like a hungry animal, it’s impossible not to notice. your pupils are dilated and your breathing has picked up, your face is red and your eyelids are relaxed. if i’m not mistaken i’d say you seem very aroused…”

you blink in surprise and flush more in embarrassment, you can’t believe that your coworker just exposed you for checking him out and even worse is that he’s completely right!

albedo allows a smirk to fade onto his face, putting the glass down and bring your chin up between his two fingers he gives you a hot passionate kiss; one hot enough to melt you

you gasp in surprise and albedo expertly slides his tongue into your mouth, using one of his hands to grip your waste and pull you against him

“perhaps we should clean up in the lab, let us go home. there are many other experiments i’d like the try out, would you do the honor of being my test subject?”

diluc:

playing chess with diluc was hard, he was taught how to play growing up and had plenty of experience over the years growing strategies and techniques

you however were not so good at chess… sure you know the basics and can navigate a very very very beginners game but you were certainly not on par with diluc

despite that he invited you to play chess with him for a little while on break, spending time with him was always nice but when playing chess there was a specific intimacy in the air that was nice

“check”

he had you cornered, as per usual with the mastermind of mondsadt but you didn’t really mind considering how calm the atmosphere was

after tugging at your lip for a little you made your move and of course instant regret set in the moment you took your hand off the piece, though of course you couldn’t take the move back

diluc’s lips curled into a slight smirk, knowing that you had just made the wrong move. his light laugh sent shivers down your spine and you watched his silky smooth hair and perfect skin for a second longer than you probably should have

he leaned down with elegance as he captured your king, catching a bit of his dark chocolate and spruce wood cologne in the process leading your heart to skip a feat beats 

“checkmate.”

the games continued on like this well into the night, losing track of time along with game after game of chess

you couldn’t even count the amount of games you lost, but you can count the amount of times you’ve won… that being 0 of course

your back was starting to get sore from sitting in the stiff wooden chair and your eyelids felt heavy from looking at the chess board’s checkered pattern for too long

it had been hours, how many you weren’t quite sure but it was dark and the candle light beside the chess board and captured pieces was the only thing keeping the room somewhat lit

yawning you decided this would be your last game, you stretched your arms up and over your head with a deep sigh

diluc’s breath got in his throat, though you didn’t notice he couldn’t tear his eyes off of you

the way your hair framed your face and the way the fabric bunched up on your chest had him enamored, it’s like his eyes were glued to you

“were they always this attractive?”

snapping himself back to reality he attempted to continue playing chess, though it was hard too with his concentration being so out of line

despite how he was very much distracted from the game you didn’t seem to notice and considering your lack of chess skills… you still lost

“checkmate.”

diluc moved his warm gloved hand to capture your king and begin resetting the board but with his mind in a haze he almost entirely missed your king and the expensive glass piece hit the carpet with a soft thump

“i’ll get it” you told him without even thinking as it fell more towards your side of the table

you got down to the carpet on your hands and knees for whatever reason and gently clasped the fragile king in your soft hands

looking up you caught yourself in a whirlwind with diluc, his eyes starting into your own and you only barely noticed the way his adam’s apple bobbed as he gulped looking down at you

you were tired and your eyes felt heavy, in the quiet relaxed scenario you had been breathing more slowing and deeply. you didn’t mean to look that intoxicating and yet despite how much he dated alcohol diluc felt a rush of adrenaline at this feeling of being drunk

after starting at all the little details on his face from his long eye lashes to his plump and slightly wet lips you sprung up and let your hand out to him, inside the palm sat a thick glass king waiting to be taken

hastily standing up himself diluc felt parched, unsure of why he was so eager he grabbed the king from your hand and set it down on the table with a slam opting afterward to strongly pick you up bridal style and throw you onto his large fluffy bed

pinning you down before you could even process the situation he ran his fingers up your shirt and onto your bare skin, without wasting anytime he captured your lips against his own

Holding over 6 mil subs on both Youtube and Twitch — Diluc's got the heart of his subscribers and followers.

His channel mainly focuses on teaching his viewers mix drinks and gaming — which is everyone's favorite.

Even though he's a stoic and a calm man, he cares for everyone — forcing his viewers to sleep when he streamed too late or his streams is on a different time because ya know, time zones.

His gaming streams are really rare, sometimes playing games that his brother recommended to him but it's PRETTY RARE.

Get's really flustered when someone donated an edit of him — and his brother uses that against him.

ALBEDO wears a simple white shirt paired with a beige vest which compliments his hair and brings out the icy colour of his eyes, which fill with warmth upon seeing you in your stunning outfit. when you arrive at the venue, he's the date who gets you drinks and makes sure you're comfortable at all times. he takes you dancing, mentioning seriously that he's been looking forward to this and practicing ever since you became his lab partner in chemistry. his gaze meets yours, and suddenly confidence rushes through your veins and leads you to press a gentle kiss against his soft lips. the look of pleasant surprise on his expression makes your later embarrassment entirely worth it.

childe.

CHILDE wasn't even meant to be your date, yet here he is twirling you in the center of the room. as he pulls you into a grand dip, his breath caresses your ear when he murmurs, "they don't know what they're missing." rewind to an hour ago, when you saw your prom date kissing some other girl and almost burst into tears. thankfully, CHILDE, your childhood best friend who's stuck with you all the way into high school was there to comfort you, and he reassured you that your prom night will still be incredibly memorable. for the rest of the night, the two of you shared inside jokes, danced, chatted, and overall had the time of your lives. and if the night ended with you leaving a fleeting kiss on his cheek, maybe it just meant your prom night was a total success, with your formerly unnoticed feelings for CHILDE finally coming to light.

DILUC is ready to go all-out for your prom night, he's spent weeks preparing himself to ask you, and when you agreed to be his date he was over the moon. with an endless supply of cash at his disposal, he had nothing to worry about - or so he thought. somehow, he seemed to have taken a leaf out of your junior bennett's book, as every possible thing that could have gone wrong, went wrong. the limousine he rented had a flat tire, wine stained his suit thanks to a clumsy drunk venti, the flowers in the bouquet he brought for you had wilted from the heat... the list went on and on. DILUC was about to give up and declare that the universe simply despised him when you burst into laughter. pulling him closer with his crimson tie that matched his hair, you nuzzle against his cheek, "having fun with you is more important than any of these gifts, silly."

EULA is dressed stunningly, and even that's the understatement of the century. with the lights flashing and the beat thumping through your blood, you can hardly form the words to invite her to dance after seeing her in an elegant midnight dress which hugs her figure perfectly. however, she seems to have let loose tonight after perhaps one too many drinks, as she smiles and accepts your invitation with only one proclamation of vengeance. but when you intertwine your fingers with her, leading her around the room in a peculiar fusion between a classic waltz and a modern dance, you swear you see pink dusting EULA's cheeks, a fact you're sure is mirrored on yours.

kazuha.

prom night with KAZUHA is barely spent in the large hall the school rented for your grade. after a few minutes wasted dawdling around the drinks table together, he grabs your hand and leads you out into a city with an enigmatic smile. with his hand in yours, you're sure you can conquer anything, and you'd follow him to the ends of the earth, even if it's just for tonight. this ends up with the wildest night you'll possibly ever have, from screaming offkey in karaoke rooms, jumping in puddles with neon lights reflected in their surfaces, reels of photos with silly faces from the two of you, KAZUHA almost getting into a bar fight at 2a.m. to 'defend your honour', lipstick stains on his neck and bruises from harsh kisses on yours. no matter what, at least you know tonight is unforgettable.

kaeya.

KAEYA spends at least a quarter of the time whispering compliments in a sultry tone, his hands roaming down your torso and clasping around your waist in a tight embrace. he can barely wrap his head around how someone as amazing as you agreed to be his prom date, and he'll be damned if he doesn't make the most of it. dressed in matching outfits, the two of you are unquestionably the hottest couple in the room as you sway on the dance floor. KAEYA's eyes never leave yours, though they occasionally dart down to your lips as if he's tempted to be reckless and close the gap between you both. surprisingly, you're the one who grows tired of this little tête-à-tête first, and you smash your lips against his, hands tugging on his cobalt hair. when he pulls apart, he's breathless, but he leans his forehead against yours with an overjoyed smile before stealing your breath once more.

xiao.

XIAO is incredibly awkward in the crowded room, and it's after two minutes of total silence, that he gains the confidence to pull you outside into the corridor. here, the surroundings are peaceful and quiet, not to mention secluded, as no one else deigns to exit the room. the privacy of the room prompts you to start a game of truth or dare, which starts wholesome in a slow dance around the area, but somehow ends up with XIAO shirtless, his white dress shirt discarded to the floor. no longer able to focus on the game, your eyes rove over the green tattoo snaking around his arms, and the tensed muscles of his toned chest. thankfully, the two of you lean forward at the same time, meeting in a wonderfully heated kiss that leaves sparks flying between both of you, your hands gripping onto his shoulders tightly as if you're scared he'll disappear. maybe XIAO fears the same of you, for he keeps one arm securely around your waist and the other tangled in your hair as he tastes your lips once more, and he swears there's nothing sweeter in the world.

Xiao

He keeps telling himself that as an adeptus, he shouldn't show any type of weakness towards you, since he wants to be reliable and dependable in your eyes. He doesn't want you treating his wounds like he's as brittle as pristine glass. But seeing the genuine care in your eyes as you slowly lift his chin, shuts him up completely. "Just leave this to me, okay?" He nods obediently, closing his eyes as his pain gets drowned out by his loud, thudding heart.

Gorou

You might view that petting his head is a light-hearted action, but each time you ruffle his hair heartily with that smile of yours, he can't think of anything else besides what he's seeing. Seeing you laugh at the way his ears twitch and slowly burn red gets him back into reality. He gently pushes your hand away, coughing into his other palm with rosy cheeks. "Please stop it." He leaves the scene quickly, but his wagging tail tells you that he didn't mean what he said at all.

Albedo

The cool, calm and collected air that surrounds him tends to make people around him quite shy, so when his lover gets quite assertive, by either initiating kisses on his hand/neck, or pinning him onto a wall jokingly causes his brain to temporarily short circuit. He doesn't know to react properly, but he's quite intrigued on why you suddenly seem way more attractive than normal. And why is his heart beating faster?

Eula

"Quit staring." She scoffs, making her way to you in quick strides, but you laugh at her words. "Is it so wrong to admire such a beautiful being?" As soon as her ears received your response, she nearly tripped on her heels, but she quickly catches herself gracefully by taking your shoulders. When you ask her what's wrong, she glares right into your eyes, her orbs glimming with determination. "I will exact vengeance upon you by staring harder!"

Ganyu

Simply reassurance. The happiness she feels is no joke when you tell her that it's alright to eat qingxins when you're on dates, not wanting for her to feel uncomfortable about the food you bought. She clutches the basket of qingxins you got near her chest. "...thank you." Her head hangs low, hiding her redness from your sight as you laughed in response. "To be honest, I'd like to see you get a bit chubby." Her heads shoots up in response. "Eh??"

Ei

The raiden shogun is very aware of the fact that you don't enjoy being in her plane of euthemia, but the surprise in her face is evident when she gets a message from her puppet, saying that you insisted on wanting to visit her despite not liking the gloom atmosphere in her consciousness. The moment you enter, the skies in the dimension light up to a beautiful shade of blue and purple instead of a dark red, signaling you that she's indeed happy to see her lover again.

In a world where magic is almost considered divine, Mages are considered the threats in the frontlines. The battle between Jade Moon and Sapphire Gale has been going on for decades without end, stemming from when the Champion of Jade Moon has found out that the Sapphires had been stealing the Jade Mages.

Sapphire Gale is on the verge of defeat. With unyielding fortitude, obstinate in his mission, the Champion of Sapphire Gale sent the kingdom's Crown Prince to the neighboring kingdom of Eternal Iris to seek help.

In the place of [Name], a Mage delegated by Sapphire's Champion to be the Protector of the Crown Prince, accompanies the latter in his journey. Things have been looking up—until she realized that the nature of the war isn't what it seems to be.

Aether

The Crown Prince, Heir of the Sapphire Gale Champion, Diluc

Aether has been a close friend for as long as you can remember. He's an orphan taken in by Diluc when he was found in the middle of the war. You met him when you were both eight years old, and he's literally the first person you saw when you awakened from a comatose. Despite not remembering much other than the fact that you were rescued by the Sapphire Knights, you found out that you had a knack for magic, something that Aether had been in awe of. Despite having his own studies, he walks you to the Academia and visits whenever he can and is beyond stoked when Diluc eventually assigned you to be Aether's personal guardian. Since Aether's magical affinity is still far from unlocking its true potential, he's almost always asking you to showcase your magic. It's a friendship that has blossomed for years. Sometimes, he tells you about his other half, his twin, Lumine, who he had lost in the tides of war against Jade Moon. Because of this, he's more than vigorous to learn so by the time he takes over the spot of Sapphire's Champion, he is prepared to give justice for his sibling. Your closest confidant and vice versa. There are instances when you catch him staring a little too long and when you ask him why, he'd get pink and refuse to answer. Is incredibly, incredibly worried when the carriage en route to Eternal Iris has been ambushed by the Adepti. He has yet to unlock his magic so he's forced to stay on edge, back to back with you, with only a sword as his means of defense. Is at your side at all times when you're injured because of him and promises that there will be a time when he's going to be the one to do the protecting. All this promise and yet—when things go south and truths were revealed, you didn't expect the future strain that all but cut your bond with him.

Albedo

The Abstruse Mage in the Royal Court of Sapphire

This Mage seems to be timeless. He is an enigma through and through—and perhaps that is why you gravitate to him a lot. He knows for a fact that he's a mystery and doesn't shy away when people try to crack him like an undeciphered code. Despite being in the Royal Court, he studies at the Academia and has his classes specialized in healing and innovation. For some reason, he acts like an old spirit. Many other students say that befriending this particular Mage is difficult, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all because... he's personally approaching you? Oh wow. Albedo is one to be straightforward, so imagine your stupefy when he says that you are just as fascinating as he is and he can't wait to unravel more about you. The atmosphere felt a little eerie when he mentioned that. Almost like... he's aware of something that you aren't and he's implying that. He doesn't give you an answer when he's queried about this. When you're both studying, he seems to always eye the winged* mark on the back of your hand. Sometimes he will brush his hand over it as if he's testing something. How strange. Regardless of everything and despite his odd personality, Albedo is someone you are close to in the Academia. There are times when he covers for you when you're summoned in the Palace and is more than ready for you to copy his notes. Oh, and he's somehow always equipped with a potion from whenever your magic is acting up. *(The marks in this fic are literally the symbols in Genshin, dearies, so for Sapphire, it's the Anemo mark! For Jade, Geo, and so on and so forth ~)

Venti

The Whimsical Bard with Olden Ballads

This guy... is everywhere! Also quite the oddball. He looks young, but he isn't a Mage nor is he a student in any of the Academies be it for magic or the general public. He's not part of the Royal Court, but he's sometimes seen walking around the Palace. You hear that Sapphire's Champion, Diluc, is sometimes conversing with this person in his private study. But he's far from being an advisor. Weird. You met him at the plaza during an event, hosting one of Sapphire's music festivals. His interlude is one of the old songs, speaking out a story in the legends or one about the Archons. You dare not approach him, though, since he's rather busy entertaining the citizens. He is the one to approach you one night when you're running back to the Academia after getting word from Albedo about a potion he has messed up. The bard's stare whenever he sees you seems to be whimsical like he knew you from long ago, or perhaps he's likening you to someone? He tells you that you are who you are now, and the present defines you, nothing else. It's sudden, so you don't know what to respond. Venti appears to be there, always, whenever it feels like danger is right around the corner. He'll whisk you through alleys and even the underground. One time, you were falsely accused of harming a citizen with the use of magic and was being chased when he appeared to help you run away until the Royal Court gets wind of the situation. It is only one of the many times he has come to your aid. He's always there. Is he guarding you... ?

Chongyun

The Deviant Mage of Yang Descent

Chongyun is a Mage who specializes in purgation and charm casting, personally filed under the Royal Court of Sapphire. It's rather odd that he's in the Court but not in the Academia like Albedo. You're not particularly close to this Mage due to his behavior that's prone to change if there's a sudden shift in his magic, but he means well. You do not meet him until you faced a terrible problem with regard to your power. This problem has escalated to the point that you can't get out of it without punishment, and Mages' punishments are always stricter and harsher compared to the general public. If not for Aether's interference, you feared you would've lost your life. Chongyun becomes your mentor, surprisingly, since you expected Albedo. You find out that it's because this person's magical affinity is closer to yours than Albedo's, who has healing. This Mage is careful around you like he's afraid that he'll mess up something in your presence. It's almost cute. He tries his best to help you understand the anomaly in your magic and his room is literally open for you to come whenever you think you need his help. You may have overestimated him and decided to give friendship a shot. Chongyun's always blank-faced around others but lightens up—visibly might I add—when you're nearby. He looks a little queasy around Sapphire Knights. Oh, and you do not know why, but he treats you like you're royalty.

Zhongli

The King Regent of Jade Moon

Oh, you've heard all about the tyrannical King Regent across the border. It makes you wonder why the Sapphire Champion decided to steal his Mages when their relationship is already so strained. Aether says that he doesn't know the reason himself, but thinks that it has something to do with an unforgotten issue way back in time. Surely, the Mages weren't stolen just so that they'd be forced to prosper Sapphire, right.. ? You heard from him as well that Jade has lost its Champion in the middle of the war and its Archon is yet to choose the successor, so a Regent has stepped in to lead the forces. Unlike other Regents who opt to sit at the throne and command from their place, however, it's told by many that this Regent dives straight into the war himself. Many have fallen to death under his command and the Jade's famed Adepti working under him is no hearsay. You do not even want to meet this man in fear that he'll have your head. It is a miracle that he hasn't stormed past the Kingdom walls yet, but he is currently lacking in magic... still, the tides of war are tipping in his favor. Something about him is a little familiar, though. Lately, before you joined Aether in his travel to Eternal Iris, it's heard that the Jade Regent himself is leading the nth wave. Venti has told you one thing before you left with the Crown Prince. 'If you see him, you must run. He will stop at nothing to win this war.' But that has nothing to do with you.. ? He looked like he was about to say something else but held back. You wonder what it's about.

Xiao

The Vigilant Knight of the Jade Adepti

The Adepti is listed as one of the most threatening divisions to come across in the War. Since you are a Mage, you're drafted out in the frontlines before being granted the position of the Crown Prince's guardian. And dare you say, you're quite lucky during your drafting period because not once have you encountered the elite group. Under the command of the First Wind, Jean, you were always fighting at the right flank, far from the center of the war. It helps that you're quickly brought back upon orders of the Sapphire Champion, so even if you have experience out in the field—you haven't met the deadly group. That streak of luck isn't there forever, though. When the carriage has been ambushed and you're out in the open to fend off the enemies, you are beyond overwhelmed when the attackers are none other than the Adepti. Sent by the King Regent of Jade. Your magic at that time has been flicking in and out like a blasted candle flame, so that situation being hazardous is way understating things. You are strong enough to protect Aether, but enough to fend off the entire group. Fortunately, however, when this particular Knight came to strike you down, he paused. His jaded polearm is inches away from your throat but you can only look at how his gold eyes are flashing with multiple emotions at once. His hand is trembling and he's trying to say something, but you aren't sticking around to die. It's the opportunity you need to force the tidbits of your magic to kick into overdrive, grabbing Aether who had been gaping at another blonde before conjuring a swift spell to warp you both away from a good distance. A wandering Magnate has aided the two of you before the Adepti can get a kill count. The hiding lasted for days until Iris's borders are at long last reached. It is neutral territory, so the Adepti are forced to retreat. The Knight's masked face is looking at you before he, along with the rest, are gone.

Scaramouche

The Royal Advisor in the Eternal Court

You want to talk to the person who assigned this person as the royal advisor. First of all, why is the advisor always absent, leaving the Champion alone? You understand that Iris is in a state of neutrality, meaning there are fewer things to worry about, but the Kingdom is up and running! Second, he has zero respect! He's late when he wants to be late, thus preventing meetings from starting. When he does appear after you and Aether are welcomed in the Palace, he straight-up denies the plea for help without letting the Crown Prince finish—as if he has the final decision! This man is such a piece of work. He strolls around the Great Hall as if he owned the place and bickers back with venom when reprimanded. You don't understand how this Kingdom's Champion is actually friends with him, but you suppose there are oddities in Teyvat. You have never been so crossed with anyone your whole life. After the Iris Champion told you that their decision will be set in a few days' time—weighing out the pros and cons of disabling their neutrality—this man is all but pushing you and Aether out of the Kingdom's borders. He gets a talk with the Champion for a while following this and when he returns, he suddenly cannot look you in the eye. He is all over the place, grumbling, yelping, shouting- and it's such a comical sight if only your buttons aren't being pressed. What they talked about remains a mystery to you, but it did change how he acts. Because before you and Aether could leave, he's personally stopping the two of you, saying that the Adepti are seen camping past Iris's borders so it's only 'natural' to extend his Champion's good aid and let you both stay for the time being. 'Just so you two won't die and the rest of Eternal Iris won't have to answer to the damned Sapphire Champion, of course.'

Kazuha

The Prudent Champion of Eternal Iris

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear me this fine man. If there is eternity, you'll spend it with him- /kidding. Or are you? This Champion is by far, the kindest one you've met. No wonder Eternal Iris is a neutral Kingdom, who would dare want to infiltrate a peaceful place governed by a peaceful man? He is benevolent and sometimes a little too patient, but all that falls in the positivities of his character. A rather soft-spoken one, too, with flowery words around each and every sentence. Kazuha is one of prudence, always thinking of matters ahead and preparing contingency plans. It makes you think that he's well-suited to be a Champion, and even Aether looks up to him. First impressions have gone splendidly if not for his friend, the royal advisor who is always late in attending meetings. Whenever you'll tell the silverette to come and just start the meeting, he'll smile and say that it's better to wait. You and Aether don't understand his patience for the advisor but they're friends, after all, so you relent. You do not miss the way Kazuha stares at you like he's seen a ghost when you first entered the Iris Palace. Again, you do not know why. He's a chivalrous person and not once did he use his title as 'Champion' to his benefit. In fact, he sees you as an equal, although Aether whispers that he's treating you more like royalty—like how Chongyun does. Strange. After telling you and the Crown Prince to stay in the neutral Kingdom for a while lest the Adepti comes to ambush you again, Kazuha takes every opportunity to be a gentleman—and doesn't stop even if his advisor is screaming for him to cut it out. He's beaming silently whenever he gets to make you laugh. But why does he sometimes look guilty?

Itto

The General of the Infernal Assembly

You do not necessarily meet the man until you decided to survey the Iris's army since the decision to aid Sapphire is still under thought. The Infernal Assembly consists of a group with empowerments directly supplied from the Kingdom's Mages. Due to this, they are stronger than regular magic-less Knights. He's drilling exercise and exercise onto his men, screaming rather jubilantly about how doing it will strengthen and liken them enough to his level. He looks like someone who can go against the King Regent of Jade Moon. Unsurprisingly, he is a Mage who decides to imbue his magic into familiars, empowering his claymore and using brute force to pummel his way through. He meets you through clumsy sparring when his ginormous weapon is flung into the air—he's showing off—and almost knocked your head out if not for Kazuha's swift move to pull you away. Not only did the horned man—a side effect from being empowered by Mages—get a harsh scolding from the advisor (yes the advisor), but he's put on probation. Probation. Like a child. As if he's not the General. His men are laughing, an indication of his good bond with them, but he whips them back in shape. It turns out that this Mage, Itto, is stronger than he looks and is secretly Eternal Iris's trump card. Kazuha says that his power isn't something to underestimate since his bloodline is one filled with successful Mages. Also, during the course of your stay, you are the one meant to supervise him in his probation. Your guest privilege seems to have expired but you don't complain since Itto is honestly one of the best people you can be around with. On a few occasions, he somehow manages to drag you into pulling outlandish pranks on his men—and getting caught. He makes you forget that there is literally a war out there that can destroy your home. Ah, that's bad, isn't it.

Childe

The Magnate from the Palace of White Frost

Childe... why is he so far from home? He's a good conversationist, though sometimes you feel that he's eerie. You know that he's at Sapphire for business purposes but he's there as if the Kingdom isn't in the middle of a war. Granted, he doesn't stay there for too long. He's come to check on the Kingdom's magic reserves, apparently, and is there to offer some 'innovations' that will greatly cause an influx of magic. Just the right amount to make a stand against Jade Moon and win. You do not know how the business went since he's only speaking about it in detail with Sapphire's Champion, but he does come and visit you whenever he can. He tells you all about the Kingdom of White Frost and how it's a neverending winter there, but despite the eternal snow, the people are warm and loving. Childe gets nostalgic when he sees children in the orphanage and you find out that he has siblings. He says that he wants to help Sapphire win the war, both because it's a task and also from his personal sentiments. He's akin to a wanderer and has connections in almost every single Kingdom—truly, he's not someone to mess around with and get on his bad side. Childe is also the one who has stumbled on you and the Crown Prince mid-ambush from the Adepti, and whisked you two to safety. His skill in hiding is impeccable and you suppose it came from having to dart around and about the ongoing war. You get to know him more in those days of hiding before departing as soon as he gets you and Aether by the border, promising that he'll meet you again as soon as you're standing against Jade Moon.
