ok hear me out on this one: ford is katniss (also making stan prim), fiddleford is peeta, and bill is snow, but hes not humanoid, like hes still a triangle
gameshow au
basically, bill is a gameshow host, and ford is his contestant.
twilight au
bill is edward (also the rest of the henchmaniacs are the rest of the cullens), ford is bella, fiddleford is jacob, and stan is charlie (except obviously him and ford are brothers, not father and daughter lol). also maybe this makes dipper and mabel essentially renesme…? idk its crack for a reason.
this interaction but with enard and… fiddlecoral? coral mcgucket? whatever his name would be. i don’t think he’d actually be a coral thing but this interaction is so them i had to draw it anyways.

Imagine you finally start to remember the love of your life and then he comes back and he’s finer than he was at 18 or 30
old man mcgucket is the loneliest person in all of gravity falls. and it’s not by choice. i mean, he’s always walking around town and trying to talk to people, but who wants to talk to that crazy guy? he’s creepy. not even his own son wants to talk to him. people just avoid him. 30 whole years and nobody ever reached out to help him. he was probably too far gone in the first place, honestly.
with nobody to talk to, it’s not really a surprise that he builds those weird robots to cope. it’s the only way people will give him any attention, recognition, or to just look in his direction at all. nobody cares about his other inventions, but those robots get him put in the news all of the time. not to mention the fact that people only started paying attention to him after he saved us during weirdmageddon. even then, most people care more about what stan and ford did. maybe he should’ve tried harder.
now that he’s regained his mind and ford is with him, people treat him more like a human. but i think they still talk behind his back. only reason they don’t say it to his face anymore is because they’re scared of ford. ford is a hero. you don’t want to get on his bad side. just put up with the guy he’s with, even if you don’t want to. nobody really wants to. the only reason he even got on the path to recovery is because dipper thought he was the author. dipper didn’t even plan to help him at all. he just wanted to look for more information.
hes lucky to have ever been given a second chance.
if it weren’t for ford he would still be a nobody.

then everyone could continue to ignore him.

old man mcgucket stops playing his banjo at 8. nobody really knows why. all they know is that when it’s 8 o clock, he stops playing his banjo and goes inside to work on something else. and when i say “nobody” that includes fiddleford himself. he doesn’t really remember why he can’t play his banjo past 8, but what he does know is that it’s a firm rule. even if there’s nobody there to enforce it, he just knows within himself that he’s not supposed to. so he doesn’t.
sometimes fiddleford looks at his cubix cube. it’s solved, it always is, but something nags at him to check. it feels like it’s supposed to be scrambled, but it’s not. he doesn’t really want to scramble it himself but it’s like a step in the process is gone. he solves it. he leaves it alone. something happens? he comes back to it scrambled. he solves it. but now it just sits off to the side, untouched. it’s confusing.
sometimes fiddleford sees something interesting. he thinks that it would be a perfect gift for someone. but he doesn’t know who that someone is. it’s just a blank where their name should be. but he gets these things anyways. maybe someday he’ll remember who they are and be able to fill in the blanks. give them all of the gifts he’s collected over the years. finally understand who he used to be.
why is it that every time he makes gloves, whether it’s with crochet or leather, they end up with six fingers?
why is it that every time he finds something strange or out of the ordinary, he feels a sense of nostalgia?
why is it that every time he goes exploring into the forest, he feels a sense of something missing?
why is it that he just feels so alone?
the answer is simple.
old man mcgucket is just a crazy hillbilly.
the town kook.
he doesnt know anything.
he can’t be fixed.
just ignore him.
just don’t look at him.
just leave him alone.
hey. since i talked about stan's cane i'll talk about ford's too. ford isn't as dependent on his cane as stan is, but he still brings it with him everywhere because of how useful it is for non-cane purposes. fiddleford made it personally for him (THEYRE MARRIEEDD!!!!) and it is completely locked and loaded. literally. theres a button on it that when pressed, the handle pops out and deploys a fully loaded gun. not to mention the secret compartments. theres one for snacks (basically always full of jelly beans) theres one for pens, and theres a flashlight installed on it as well. its fully optimized for every situation and ford loves it so so so much. and the handle is SOO comfy in comparison to stan's. specifically crafted to fit his hand so its as easy to hold as possible. so much love and care put into every detail. the tip of the cane can be swapped out for different kinds of terrain, whether he's walking through the forest, a cave, or he's just in the shack. its luxury. stan still brags that his looks cooler though. and is he really wrong?

ok i have another ford headcanon. what? its nwhs birthday still? ohhh. yeaah. this is totally related to that. happy 10 years of ford or whatever. this is definitely for that and i planned this ford pines is a trinket guy. this man has 12 shelves full of just little things. figurines, stickers, posters, prints, pins, magnets, plushies. he has it all. tardis figurines. doctor who posters. star trek posters. mothman plushies. pine trees everywhere. even mcguckets inventions that hes gifted to him (THEYRE MARRIED) are put on display. he loves having stuff to look at. he loves collecting shit. every little gift hes ever received is lovingly placed on a shelf or wall. you cant see out of the back window of that mans car from the amount of stickers and decals (probably to the point where its technically illegal but that never stopped him). you cant trust that man unsupervised in a store because he WILL be making impulsive purchases (or just stealing them. you know his pockets are filled to the brim with random stuff everytime he leaves a place.) he loves it. he loves it so so so so so much. he probably has a fuck ton of piercings and accessories and jewelry too. he loves decorating himself. its so much fun for him are you kidding. stan wears flashy shit for the sake of showing wealth. ford does it for the love of the game.
even MORE stan twin headcanons so we all know from the charity stream that ford is very oblivious to people flirting with him. haha! very funny! very silly! so when he goes out to bars with stan he usually doesnt understand when people are flirting with him (and if they're stupidly obvious with it, then he turns them down because hes married to mcgucket and YOU CANT TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME-) and stan flirts with people in bars a lot. you know. as he does. whenever someone comes up to flirt with him or whatever, ford will look away and pretend not to listen.. and then turn back around when he realizes that stan is just as, if not, more dense and clueless than he is. and he doesn't even realize he's being flirted with?? he's just?? casually talking to this person who's clearly interested????? like it's taking him forever to realize?? when he does realize, though, he immediately starts flirting back and ford turns back around again. whether it's just an internal doubt where he doesn't think anybody would be interested in him, and just takes it as them being nice, or he's just really that clueless, ford doesn't really know. but he's started to put on a stopwatch to see just how long it would take for him to flirt back. the longest it's taken so far is 15 minutes and 34 seconds.

Hello hello, not to just appear randomly but I AM very interested in your interpretation of ABW Emma May 👀 if you want… to ramble…

ok so basically im gonna explain the og timeline first so that i can like. define where the paths diverged into abw. emma may and fidds met when they were younger (about 1960 or so?). they were really good friends and all. fidds transitioned(1968), theyre still good cause em is supportive and all that. so now because its a boy and a girl people were like “relationship when?” and because fidds liked guys and em just. wasnt that interested in marriage in general. they were like “okay then. we can pretend we’re dating. thats fine.” so they did because they thought it would be the most simple way out of it. and then they runaway to college together (1972). fidds meets stanford, em probably kisses a few girls, idk. and then after college they got married (1977). now fidds actually wanted to have a kid. even outside of the whole religious and general societal pressures. and em was fine with that. this won’t make things complicated at all whatsoever. so they have tate. everything is going perfectly fine.
and then that phone call happened (1980)
so fidds leaves. em is now in california with tate. fidds says he’ll be back soon. and about 2 years later is when it diverges. in the og timeline, fidds just doesnt come back. he gives a phone call, but its all cryptic and like. horrifying. so they divorce. the problem was less that he was out with stanford. that wasnt the issue. it was that he just left her behind entirely to deal with a kid that he wanted in the first place. so then they divorce. mostly to keep tate safe. even though that backfires completely and he leaves to go after fidds anyways (2002) which is an entirely different can of worms that i will also yap about if anyone wants me to.. HOWEVER. in abw, fidds calls em after the portal is called off. he has clearer communication and basically says “hey we called off the project because it was super dangerous. but i wanna stay in gravity falls with stanford and we’re gonna do really big things and have a bunch of money” so they work out a situation. em and tate move to oregon, theyre still married. they stay best friends. tate has both parents (including an extra dad lmao) and everyone is happy for the most part. em is actually pretty interested in the work that fidds and stanford do, so she visits sometimes to just watch what goes on and listen to fidds ramble on about it for a while, which is what was depicted in the fiddtober drawing. tldr; abw em doesnt divorce fidds. moves to oregon. supports him and stanford. everyone happy.
duuude i just realized. soos being adopted by stan + fiddauthor means that soos and tate would be cousins. i think thats cool and makes sense. like imagine soos being at the tackle shop fixing a lightbulb or something yapping about some random bullshit and tate's just sitting there running the shop listening and occasionally nodding. that just makes sense. they would definitely have that older/younger cousin dynamic. they even have the same outfits even though theyre just employee uniforms but shhh let me dream

ok i love the angst that comes from fiddleford's whole society of the blind eye arc and all but like. i cant help but giggle imagining this little southern twink boy whos heartbroken over his little scientist boyfriend going "it is unseen" with that goofy accent
whenever i'm picturing like. a scene in my head with a character i always try to picture their actual voice actors voices because then it feels like i can. idk feel whether its in character or not?? idk how to explain it but when i think of fiddauthor (which i do often). i actually cannot picture it because wholesome gay people comfort and j.k. simmons' voice just do not go together. i need to like train my brain in order to really get his character and his voice in my head
