Imma get this out of the way right now, I enjoyed myself so much listening to Atonal, another one of the channels that gave me a happy feeling inside -w-

Also I liked the way humor is delivered? Like the way it catches me off-guard makes it so good.

*works my way down the playlists, eventually hits Wyatt's series* "Oh this was the guy that showed up in Floki's series... hey wouldn't it be hilarious if this was yet ANOTHER channel where most if not all audios are all connected to each other instead of just one or two series-"

OKAY, so then based off of the two "Wyatts" in the Evaluated By A Scientist series, I'm assuming that the Wyatt in Floki's series was the bad Wyatt?? The shape-shifter?

ALSO. THE FREAKING. REFERENCES. IN THE SERIES. First, FREAKING TETHYS AND CHARIS FROM M'S MERFOLK SERIES?!?!?! DEMETRIOS WAS THE GUY THEY WERE CHASING AFTER?????? THEN WE GOT THE GATOR BOYS REFERENCE IN PROFESSOR O'TONAL'S SERIES. AND ESCAPED SMH. AND THEN "MITCHELL THE RED PANDA" Y'ALL AIN'T SLICK. WHAT THE HECK. (i'm sure there's more references I missed anyway moving on-)

Took me a bit longer to finish cuz FINALS WEEK. Passed all my classes though, finished junior year, and am free to watch more people let's goooooo-

Okay, one thing I lovedddddd is her writing style, but also the fact that she has narrations of her own stories as well as audio roleplays, that was just really cool to me.

"An Adventurer's Heart" was SO GOOD, I loved Riley's story!!!! And the script fill was super well done, loved the collabs.

THE HOLIDAY AUDIOS WERE SO CUTE OMGGGGGGGGG- they reminded me sooooo much of the parties my mom would host when I was a kid- and it made me think it'd be nice to have a group that big to plan something like that with- (at the moment tho it's only two close friends I trust enough but it'd still be fun-)

"Renegade Shadow" was super interesting to listen to- finding out about how the werewolves live and their society, the differences between werewolves, how they coexist with others- also I gasped when I found out about Shannon-

Could also see it becoming a TV series...

Also veryyyy excited for "Smoke and Mirrors" when it comes out, I feel like I'm going to enjoy that a LOT.

This was the only thing keeping me sane while I organized my library, why was younger me so voracious with books-

Also the next victim is Atonal, Scribz got me interested in another channel again smh-

I love it when people play around with a silly little game when making their stories- it makes you realize "Oh! Oh, the entire premise is actually creepy af-"

Loved the monologue both when she got caught and when she was changing form after Listener got caught, very tense moment.

I've also realized that I could never have a werewolf partner, I would probably insult so many of them- *giant, intimidating wolf mythic that just shifted in front of me* *me with no survival instincts whatsoever*: "It's a murder bubbas, hai pubbyyyyyy! :D You want chest scritches???"

Also I now need to take Artemis and Alyssa to therapy (why is Alyssa just like me, come on now-)

THEY ARE SO FREAKING CUTE AND I LOVE THEM OMGGGGGG- I LOVE collabs like this they make me so freaking happy-

Although Andrew did lose a point when he started judging Mariokart, my good sir, how freaking dare you (I miss it so much, wish I still had my Wii 😭)

Acting from everyone in that series was amazing too, everyone killed it.

So here's how I've been devouring channels lately:

The main thing is that it depends on how many videos it has. If it doesn't have too many, I'll start by watching any one-shots first, then move on to the series. If it has a lot of videos, I start by watching the series first (usually the shortest ones first, but I'll jump around a bit if there's nothing connecting), then move on to the one-shots and any other videos after. In both cases, I always save the most popular series or the series I see everyone talk about last (idk why exactly yet).

Right, now that that random tidbit is out of the way, onto the meat of this thing. 387 VIDEOS. RIGHT THEN. LONG BINGE INDEED.

*starts Birds of Valhalla* *smacks bell* I HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFULLY LURED IN-

Ok so the island is connected to other GBA stories... the sword they found is connected to Space Pirates, I don't know about the telescope yet?? Maybe the Pandora series or the Fourseen?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THIS SERIES. I am struggling with my 8-year-old, mythological-obsessed self however- "Ok, so he said Ulysses and Neptune, so we're clearly going with the Roman version of the names. OKAY- I like how Tyr asked what the Listener's name means. I'm the same way with other people's names, it's so interesting to find out what they mean, what the origin is, and it adds another layer to the person for me.

Because Birds of Valhalla had the boys finding items from Fourseen and Space Pirates, Space Pirates has Servoss from the Querian Saga, I know Mad Crow is one of the BvZ characters but he also showed up in the Querian Saga, I think Magic of the Heart referenced Fourseen with the Time Wheel mention in the secret ending?????

Ok, overall opinion- writing is great, though I think I need to rewatch the Querian Saga and Space Pirates, those kinda flew over my head a bit, but at least I now understand how Fern's Break of Dawn came about- humor is EXCELLENT, and acting is stellar from everyone that was involved in these- AND great use of music too. And points for making me cry. Very very satisfied with this one...

Personally seeing stuff like this is a little frustrating... I really want to see what ideas or tricks creators have up their sleeves, and I'm truly curious to see what exactly is in their minds. But I understand that this is a source of money for them and projects like that would take some effort, so they have to be practical and keep the algorithm in mind. I just hope they get to the point where they have to worry less about limitations like that.

I like the lengths for most of the episodes- like they seem to fall in the 10-15 minute range which is really nice because I can listen to a good portion of a series in between my classes.

The Bloodmoon AU and Betraying your Vampire Friend were sooo good, I love horror AUs and audios.

Mage Bunkshelf: I really, REALLY, need to get away from Tumblr-

Series I thought I'd dislike but ended up loving: "Yandere" Ship AI (NO CUZ YOU KNOW WHAT, FRICK THIS SERIES, I HONESTLY DID NOT EXPECT TO LOVE THIS WHAT THE HECK-)

JUST THE SOFT BOIS- AND I LOVE THEM

LIKE NEM AND JACKSON AND MITCH FREAKING BROKE MY HEART, THE POOR BABIES-

LURED ME IN WITH THEM, HOW DARE YOU PLAY ON MY FEELINGS LIKE THAT MAGE.

I mean then you got people like David and Llyr who aren't really in the "soft boi" category BUT AAGH- IF THEY'RE NOT CUTE THEY'RE SO FREAKING COOL-

One thing I really liked and can't emphasize enough HOW much I liked were the emotional moments? So like in Episode 1 of Introverted Incubus where Jackson admits exactly what he is/needs and breaks down. Or in Fallen Angel when Nem's telling their story. Also Episode 2 of Neko Listener when the roommate also turns into a neko. I don't know, it felt like Mage made it really easy to feel their pain or shock at the moment through their voice acting... I loved that so much.

Underlying messages... my mother LOVES to analyze movies and books for the hidden meaning behind them and I started to do that with audios lately lol... I felt like there were a few I could see in some of the stories.

Same thing as Obi about the episode length, easy to digest and short enough to listen to between classes.

AND LAUREN CREATES DID ART FOR SOME OF THE CHARACTERS, MY GOATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

*finds out they did a reading of The Raven. Which is my second favorite Poe writing.*

So like from 3:10 - 3:40, it's certain scenes from the audios - like Scythus attacking Guest, Alfonso and Guest talking about the effects of vampirism, them going to Carmen for help, etc, just a bunch of scenes that kind of match up with the lyrics...

Then from 3:40 - 3:55, it's the main characters showing up solo for a few seconds looking very cool with the VA's name under theirs, so it'd be like:

"Escaped Audios as Alfonso" "Scythe Audio as Scythus" "Rina Zakiva as Carmen" "Vik Lendvay as Rampage"

etc., I have no idea if Guest would be a part of that section since literally anyone and everyone can be Guest-

Favorite series: The Noble Trials

Series I thought I’d dislike but ended up loving: The Noble Trials (I was ignorant but I saw the light)

Random notes:

Second VA in this community I subbed to, first to introduce me to lore-based stories and world building in ASMR.

His range. Seriously, I was blown away by how diverse his characters are. When I went from listening to Isaac and Elias to Cevyk and Dontis, I honestly could not believe it was the same person.

Speaking of Cevyk, Saku’s world building also amazed me. Especially when I’m listening to Cevyk’s audios or The Noble Trials. This man just has new realms, plus languages, PLUS hierarchies and cultures floating around in his mind. AND he made a transcript of the Episode 5 debate. I love learning about that level of creativity in people so much.

And this technically goes for all three of them so I’m just gonna get it out of the way- I love the amount of effort they put into their work BESIDES their acting. The soundtracks, the sound effects- all of it helps add that extra bit of immersion and helps me see the scene more clearly in my mind.

Escaped: (freaking Escaped.)

Mental state: *sobbing, actually crying, tears are literally dampening my squishmallow one day- is wheezing and gasping for air because she’s laughing so hard the next*

Favorite series: … it’s a tie between Blue Infinity and Der Wolfsjäger

Series I thought I’d dislike but ended up loving: Slash and the Basher

Random notes:

The angst. I thought Saku was bad. I thought NORA was bad. Escaped might be a D-list villain, but he’s an A-list angst maker. Like Nora made me cry, but he didn’t have me weeping for 10 minutes. However, the angst always has a purpose, fits the story, and adds another layer of depth, so I do like that... BUT STILL-

I reallyyyyyyy love the way Escaped writes romance. The confession scenes for his characters feel super genuine. AND I love how he takes into account how long the characters have known each other, really appreciate that detail.

The amount of times I have gasped, shrieked, clapped a hand over my mouth, clutched my pearls, side-eyed the screen- the comedy and writing in these audios is so freaking good, I love it.

I really like how you can easily imagine each of his series in a different form of media- whether it be a comedy TV series or a two-hour long movie I’d ruin my sleep schedule to watch.

Scythe: (don’t even get me STARTED HAHAAAAA-)

Mental state: *limping a little, heavily bandaged, still a little blood seeping from a few cuts, has THE biggest grin on her face nonetheless*

Favorite series: Demon Hunter, War of the Witches, or Lullaby

Series I thought I’d dislike but ended up loving: Lullaby (JAYJAY, MY CHILD, MY PRECIOUS ANGEL-)

Random notes:

He was the first VA that made me sub in under five minutes. Soooo… yeah, he definitely captured my attention. I absolutely ADORE the intros to the audios and the fourth-wall breaks. Creators interacting with their characters is one of my favorite tropes to see lol.

Again. WORLD BUILDING. L O R E. ALL THE FREAKING LORE AND HOW IT CONNECTS AND- how. How do you guys honestly have this in your brains, how do you come up with this stuff, HOW. Anyway, I think that’s why Scythe’s channel was particularly rewarding to finish… knowing that everything is part of a larger story and getting to see it unfold was soooo cool to see.

These were some of the BEST fight scenes I’ve heard so far in this media. So I’m always doing some other activity when I’m listening to ASMR cuz it helps me focus, but the fight scenes and other tense moments had me frozen, like I was locked in. Literally had me on the edge of my seat and I enjoyed every minute of it.

The horror. Absolutely perfect. Like Scythe and Saku know how to do horror, because I love watching horror movies but some of their audios made my stomach do flips. It was amazing. And the amount of monsters and mythics Scythe brings to the table ughhhhh, I LOVE IT-

Again. Range. I love how he’ll go from chill, sweet Father Light and Siren to screeching, howling demons and entities. Coolest thing ever.

The collabs with Ms. Kittenish, she is wonderful and also beautifully terrifying, I hope you guys have a happy relationship for a very long time.

ALSO HIS SINGING?!?!?! HELLO?!?!?! HE’S AMAZING!!!! I can’t stress this enough, I love hearing people sing in audios, and Scythe is so freaking good RAAAAAGH-

Um… thank you guys for telling your stories and showing your creations. 2024 was rough for me, especially the last half of it. Finding your channels helped give me something to focus on, something to distract myself with it, something to look forward to. Plus it made my winter break WAY more fun XD

Honestly, if I could just talk to the people I admire (just creators I admire in general- there’s a lot like this-) for like 10 minutes, just to see how they think, I’d walk away happy. I love the fact that people like this exist, because I’m always wondering what goes on in another’s brain. Here, I can catch a glimpse of your imaginations.

The fight between V and Atrocity, geezzzzzzzzz I could see it all playing out in my head. And then everyone going after Atrocity and getting trounced. It kind of gave me the same feeling I have when watching The Battle of the Five Armies (the extended version from the Hobbit).

The math equation threw me for a freaking loop in the last audio, I can't believe that's how V let all his allies know about the plan.

Speaking about the plan, him and Cheeky- that was honestly a really, REALLY good twist, I really liked that. And yeah, definitely seems like something V would do, I'm chill with that.

I might be crazy but something did not feel right about L... glad my Pikachu queen is alive, don't get me wrong. The first time when V asked her why she didn't respond to his message and she sounded confused, I didn't think too much of it. But the second time, the second time there was a bit of hesitation. Why was there hesitation, L? Also, just a sidenote, what's Void Wraith been up to? Just curious.

It's also exciting to hear, because the first time I listened to this, everything was still pretty much flying over my head- now I'm over here like, "wait a minute was that-???"

Also I'm just a huge nerd when it comes to references, they're one of my favorite things to spot in movies or TV series.

So thank you for putting all this time and effort into your world-building, it's so freaking awesome to listen to.

The issue: you are making me choose between the Spaniard and the Scotsman for my hubbie and I don't like it-

my list of fictional crushes has only grown since I've gotten into ASMR... the list was already long enough...

The comments:

First off, I really like Alfonso's character. Specifically the fact that he's not already a famed vampire slayer or anything, that he's still low in the ranks of the Guild and he's trying to live up to the memory of his father. I also enjoyed how the confession scene in Episode Five was written. One of my BIGGEST pet peeves with romance tropes is when someone says "I love you!" after TWO DAYS of knowing the other person (I'm looking at you, Disney). But here, it felt like it was taken into account that Alfonso and the Guest hadn't known each other for long and were thrown into a very stressful and emotional situation. So yeah, feelings were probably going to be a result of that, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was "love" to begin with... but it could become that. Saying "I want you" made it feel more honest, I suppose.

Second, loveeeeee how the video was set up (I watched the story compilation btw, probably should've mentioned that). But the way the background shifted with the situation was SO cool. I've noticed that before in your other series, not sure if I've brought it up yet, but it really helps with the immersion as well as giving me a better idea of what the setting is. Also- SOUNDTRACK. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE SOUNDTRACK.

Third, I thought it was epic that you did it in English and Spanish. Also neat finding out that you're Spanish, that was cool. My family's Puerto Rican, so I can understand the language (if you speak it at very slow pace and are very patient with me) but I personally can't speak it. I love hearing it, though, and I want to learn it properly lol.
