Hello it is I, back at it again with another comic! Thank you all for the support on Pinning Butterflies ^^ @lookinghalfacorpse’s Doomsday Trio Ages continues to give me emotions. Specially this last line. So I have some more angst (and fluff)- also known as reasons Techno has illegally adopted another wanted criminal. Phil has adoption papers in his bag for such occasions you can’t tell me otherwise.

Shoutout to my brother who did the editing for this comic. He suffered me talking about my faves, and learned lore just to tell me when/if they were OOC. XD

I think the only person I've met in real life with 100% career satisfaction was this gal I knew who was a presenter at a children's science museum and delivered every line like she was running a WWE match. Every time you passed the room where she was giving a presentation, you'd hear something like "WHO'S READY FOR CEPHALOPODS?!?" and the kids would go absolutely nuts cheering.

I've gotta say that there is no better achievement as a neurodivergent person than hyperfixating on a character for so long that you are known as "the 'insert character name here' person"

I wonder if Dream ever felt guilty about Techno ending up in prison with him—not because he wrote the note, but because being locked up at all was his plan. He intended to be here. And didn't that make everything that happened afterwards his fault?

its late and im sleepy so i might be remembering things wrong but something that really gets me abt c!dream is that he isn’t mad at, or at least doesn’t do anything about, any of the other people who knew about the torture and did nothing. he wasn’t mad at c!bad or c!ant. and the only revenge he initiated completely on his own without prompting was against c!q. I wonder if he was even going to do anything about c!sam until he found him face to face in the prison, or if he just though that c!techno would finish him off. but then sam was there and dream decided right then just how much he had to say.

One of my long time (lowkey projecting but it fits character) head canons is that he deals with bad insomnia by literally just exhausting himself to force sleep like running until he can't and collapsing under a random tree or something for some sleepy time since its already like soft confirmed that he rarely sleeps and when he does its not really anywhere in particular just out in the wild somewhere people dont go

(Also for added angst factor the burn in his chest would probably remind him of old times, besides he feels like the type that would find comfort in a painful constant over something unfamiliar)

One dimensional, flat, Villain™ c!dream. it's so... boring. Reducing a very complex, multifaceted character like dream into the most storybook, children's version of an antagonist makes me want to chew glass 😭. Taking dream and using him as a vector for the most boring uninteresting ctommy whangst or as a scape goat to explain why every bad thing happens in your fanfiction (cough... passerine... cough). Like this does NOT deserve as many fics, posts, and headcanons as it gets. It's lame and boring. straight to jail, do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars.

*Obama voice* let me be clear. there is not a single character on that smp that is Just a villain who only does Bad thing for Evil Bad reasons. Even the Eldritch unknowable egg monster is fucking complex. There is no easy antagonist, full stop. And obviously all of us over here on this side of the Mississippi understand that because we're all adults with media analysis and super well adjusted and cool and medicated people. but in the wider fandom this Irks me

Hey, don't cry. Five thousand fanfic daydream scenarios inside your head about the super-obscure fictional character you've latched onto like an orphaned duckling, okay?

I think sometimes I realize just how special the DSMP was. Like. Nothing of that magnitude will ever happen again. I’m glad I was here to experience it with you all.

At its heart, the overarching narrative theme of the Dream SMP is not about "Good vs Evil", and to try to analyse its story in that framework is to completely misunderstand and misrepresent what it's trying to say.

Yes, there are characters who do good things, and yes there are characters who do evil things. These are often the same characters. And that's just the actions themselves, taking out of the equation the intentions and context, which does affect the answer to the questions of "was this action good or bad? was it understandable? was it justified?". It's the difference between saying "Character A killed Character B" and "Character A killed Character B in self-defence" - the context matters.

It's not as simple as "well, these characters are opposing this other character who's doing bad things so therefore they must be our Good Characters", and to pretend it is, and that this gives them moral authority forever, is laughable. The story being told is not a story of Good vs Evil - that doesn't mean that those types of stories don't exist, or that they lack value, but only that the Dream SMP is not one of them.

To wash a whole set of characters with the Good brush and another set with the Evil brush is an approach so lacking of nuance and utterly simplistic that to use it in serious analysis would be to so badly misunderstand the themes of the Dream SMP that you're basically making up your own version of canon and trying to pass it off as the true story.
