note: "Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) is a term used to describe intense emotional pain and distress in response to real or perceived rejection or criticism." I am not a professional, these are just some personal tips<3
╰┈➤ focus on self soothing techniques, as well as self empathy and compassion. Be gentle with yourself, you didn't choose to feel these things, so don't treat yourself like you did.
╰┈➤ don't forget that your value is NOT dependant on others' opinions of you. You are your own being, and that is beautiful <3
╰┈➤ recognize everyone makes mistakes, and you are worth as much love as everyone else, even if you have emotions deeper than others.
╰┈➤ know the way you feel isn't silly or stupid, and don't diminish your feelings to being these such things.
╰┈➤ try and self soothe, whether that be through distractions like reading, journaling, etc. Use positive affirmations to combat self hatred and negative self talk
╰┈➤ identify your own triggers, keep track of how you respond to certain situations, and what may trigger episodes of major dysphoria.
╰┈➤ remember to be mindful, take deep breaths and practice grounding when you're beginning to spiral.
╰┈➤ don't be afraid to ask for reassurance, you deserve to feel safe.
╰┈➤ remember to practice the STAR method, STAR stands for Stop, Think, Act, Recover. Using this method, you can help to process larger emotions with more ease.
╰┈➤ when dwelling on a negative interaction, try and see it from a different perspective. How else may of someone meant their words?
╰┈➤ don't be afraid to seek support of friends and family, and communicate your experiences and RSD.
╰┈➤ set boundaries to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings, and follow through with them. Boundaries don't make you a bad person.
╰┈➤ remember to take time for yourself. Engage in hobbies and self care, you are loved and deserve good things.
╰┈➤ if possible, seek professional help, whether through therapy or medication.

Who doesn't love cookies? Or, alternatively, who doesn't love scraping the bowl for leftover cookie dough? Because I love it, a lot, it makes me feel very small! That's why I started looking for edible cookie dough recipes, and after some tests and adaptations I made my very own recipe!
for every 1 cup of all purpose flour, you'll need...
🥣: 1/2 cup of brown sugar
🍪: 1/2 cup of softened salted butter
🥣: 1/4 cup of milk
You can use granulated sugar instead of brown sugar for a more sugar cookie-like flavor
You can use edible flours (such as: almond flour, coconut flour) instead of all purpose flour and skip the heat treating step altogether
🍪: Heat treating the flour: to make sure the flour is safe to eat raw you'll need to heat treat it. This can be done in three ways
With an oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Spread the flour on a tray, over baking paper, and bake it for 5-8 minutes
With a stove: spread the flour in a saucepan, turn the heat to low and stir it for ~2 minutes. Be careful to not burn the flour!
With a microwave: Microwave the flour for 30 seconds and stir the flour so the heat can be evenly distributed, and repeat the process 2-4 times. Remember to use a microwave-safe bowl!
🥣: Mix in the butter and sugar, and whisk them together until fluffy
🍪: Add the flour and the milk to the mixture and mix until homogeneous. The end result should have a soft and thick texture and hold itself together well.
Now, if the plain cookie dough isn't enough, here's some extra ingredients for specific flavors
🥣: 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for a classic vanilla flavor
🍪: 2 tablespoons of peanut butter for a peanut butter flavor
🥣: 2 teaspoons of coffee powder for a coffee flavor
To finish off, a perfect cookie is usually adorned with sprinkles for added texture and colorfulness! This step is completely optional
🍪: Traditional chocolate chips
🥣: All kinds of confetti, hundreds & thousands, etc
🍪: M&Ms or skittles
🥣: Chopped chocolate
🍪: Chopped nuts
🥣: This recipe serves around 6 portions and the measures can be cut or increased for less or more portions
🍪: This recipe can be stored in a fridge for around a week and can be added to ice creams and milkshakes
🥣: This recipe cannot be baked! It was made to be eaten raw
note: There is nothing wrong with your regression, but I understand the need to hide it from others. But please know you are not gross, wrong, or bad for regressing. These are tips I've gathered as a closeted regressor myself, hope they help<3
╰┈➤ look into mobile games, they're great for regressing! There's lots of cute and soft games on the appstore and google that can help with regression and slipping into little space.
╰┈➤ im big on asmr. as a tool to relax, unwind, and regress. linked here and here are two videos I think are great for littles who would like to try asmr to help their regression!
╰┈➤ if you're older, look into adult coloring books and other crafts and hobbies. Sewing, crocheting, etc. are good options! Creating, in general, is a fantastic way to slip into little space!
╰┈➤ if you have a form of control over when you regress, try to regress when you're alone and safe to limit being caught.
╰┈➤ ring pops are a good alternative to paci's, and water bottles with straws work well, too!
╰┈➤ try purchasing gear at second-hand shops, make sure to clean and sanitize everything, of course! My baby bottle, rattle, and plushies are from a second-hand shop!
╰┈➤ make yourself a regression playlist of songs that help you feel small or fit the vibe you'd like to experience when regressed
╰┈➤ watch your favorite kids' shows! Or shows you watched when you were physically younger!
tips to caring for littles who suffer from:
emotional dysregulation, hyper empathy,
and harsh moodswings !!
• develop grounding techniques to bring your little back to earth when they spiral. (breathing exercises, hand squeezing, observation games, etc.)
• remind them that what they're feeling is only big right now, and will pass.
• offer reassurance and spend time with them. Do not get angry if your little is easily upset or agitated.
• if the source of the moodswing or dysregulation is removable, try to get your little or the cause away from the other.
• find distractions to help your baby cope. (tv, games, toys, coloring, etc.)
• offer to talk with them about their big feelings and / or listen.
• if they're comfortable with it, take over bigger tasks and set down rules to prevent harm. (Ex: earlier bedtimes, no exceptions.)
• show love towards your little, and communicate your feelings aswell.
• encourage your little to be open about their moodswings the moment they have them. Preventing further damage or fear for both parties.
• if your little is experiencing hyper empathy towards another party, assure them they're a good person for feeling on the other's behalf, but remind them that they're their own person.
• if your little is neglecting themselves for others, step in and stop them from doing so if safe.
As someone who experiences big emotions very quickly, and has symptoms of hyper empathy as well as bpd. I have a hard time distinguishing my emotions, I hope this post helps others like me ^^ feel free to add your own tips on!
