My ongoing goal in life is to become more free in every way, and a lot of my shackles disappeared the moment I realized, "Oh, wait...I never actually HAD to participate in this in the first place!"

For example, after quitting makeup, I realized that actually there's very little that I need to carry around with me. I don't need a purse anymore to carry a makeup bag, and once I started buying cargo pants with lots of sizeable pockets, I was able to just put my wallet, chapstick and phone in my pockets and go. I even created a cool custom chain to attach to my wallet. I dont care a fig if that's a "guy" thing; its practical. (It seems as if fashion that is simple, practical and comfortable is allotted to men, and the fussy burdensome nonsense is allotted to women.) If you've worn a purse since you were 13 like I have, you can understand how freeing it feels to leave the house without it. I know that seems like a small thing, but not having a constant heavy thing hanging on your shoulder (which has to be guarded from theft at all times) is glorious.

And no makeup has meant no fretting about touch-ups. For the first time, I can splash water on my face on a hot summer day in town. More freedom.

I know that the belief that I needed to do these things as a woman came from societal influences, but suddenly it feels like I've been living an existence based on totally imaginary "rules" for SO long, and every time I discover another one that I can disregard, I feel like celebrating. Question everything you take for granted!

I need people to understand that I want more scary Stiles Stilinski. I'm feral for this little sopping wet cat of a man whom everyone underestimates until he goes from 0 to 100. One second he's being a little damsel in distress but then one of his friends gets hurt and suddenly he stands in a field of gore cackling at the sky because the bloodlust has driven him nearly insane. I don't think there's any form of makeup that's subversive, in the current patriarchal society.

I think that until makeup isn't a form of oppression and harm to women, that we just shouldn't use it or support it, as much as possible.

The chemicals in the vast majority of them are harmful, and most companies that produce cosmetics do not list the ingredients in them either.

Until the day women aren't forced or coerced to wear it to be accepted by the majority of society, and in the workplace etc - there's no subversive way to wear it.

I'm not upset with women who use it, but calling any form of it subversive just doesn't seem right. I don't think an industry that profits from the oppression of women should have any support whatsoever. I don't think we should be giving any of our money to things like that until they stop harming women.

I think the only genuine act of subversion in regards to any beauty standards/makeup is to entirely eschew them all. Until they aren't being forced on us, and it's ACTUALLY a choice, not a requirement.

i can't be the only one who's just straight-up ... bored with women hating themselves. my mom keeps lamenting to me how upset she is about her gray hair. my friend stares at her laugh lines every day in agony. my sister loses sleep over the horrible unbearable thought of looking fat. and every time these women i love open up to me, i can't help but think ... then stop staring at yourself? stop drowning yourself, narcissus, and just fucking live your life instead of sitting in front of a mirror obeying cosmetic corporations' lies. just stop it. this is getting ridiculous. you're too smart to be falling for this bullshit. "oh no but these men who hate women told me that if i'm ugly i'm worthless!" girl if you actually believe that then good luck. but i am getting worse at being supportive of people whose nonsense worldviews keep them trapped in pain. stop looking at yourself start fucking living i am pleading you deserve to be happy and it is stupid that you disagree

He healed the wolf. Stiles killed his tormentor, mended his blood and bones, and let him sleep beside him. But none of it was enough.

Stiles stared at Derek without breathing.

At the tiny droplets of crimson hidden in his beard, at his gentle but intense eyes, at his mouth smeared with blood. He felt the taste of it on his tongue.

Derek held his promise.

He would always hold it. There was nothing Stiles could do or say to stop him. This was it. Stiles married him, mated with him for the rest of his life. Derek killed and he would undoubtedly kill again.

Stiles could be meek, sure. In Derek’s arms, softened under the touch, pinned under his weight. He allowed himself to relax only in Derek’s sole presence.

Stiles could also look meek. Small, scared. Let the enemies think he was hiding in his mate’s shadow. After all, no one would stop to think that the shadow could ever be dangerous.

The metal latch clicked. With ice filling his lungs and his fingers shaking terribly, Stiles swiveled his head in the direction of a window and froze for a beat of a second.

the thing is like. i get that it's scary and makes people who do desire to get pregnant uncomfortable when we talk about the brutality and violence of pregnancy and the damage that pregnancy can do to your body

but you deserve to give informed consent to that process.

the lies around pregnancy - that it's inherently safe, that it doesn't do you permanent damage, that it's only extremely rare for people to die of pregnancy complications, etc like

all of these are lies constructed so that more people will get pregnant w/o knowing all that

there needs to be more talk about the impact of miscarriages and how common they are, how different abortion processes are and how accessible they are

but also like. talking about how pregnancy fucks your body up should not be taboo

this is a process that permanently changes most people's bodies, and that's even if the pregnancy doesn't do them like. severe illness or injury

and i just think everybody should have a right to KNOW that

Female wolf kills 17 goats after 'befriending' one of the dogs protecting the herd

A female wolf, the only one reported to inhabit Catalonia in the last 16 years, has killed seventeen goats in Cistella, north of Girona.

The farmer and landowner, Francesc Barbany, explained in an interview with RAC1 radio that the attacks began a year ago.

"We know it's the female wolf because she attacks the goats at the jugular, and we have footage of her," Barbany said.

Since the attacks began, Barbany has been forced to electrify the fence to protect the goats and put GPS collars on the more vulnerable animals.

"The wolf is smart and waits for us to corral the goats before attacking the ones left behind in the group," he added.

The female wolf, however, continues to visit the property to have "night dates" with the dog assigned to protect the goats.

"When it's dark, the wolf arrives, walks past the dog, and they quickly leave together," Barbany explained.

To put an end to the "friendship" between the dog, a Border Collie, and the wolf, Barbany is considering having the dog neutered before the wolf goes into heat.

The she-wolf is the only one living in Catalonia, and there are four other wolves, all males.

i really hate the term “resting bitch face” it’s literally just a neutral facial expression like that’s just what a woman’s face looks like 

women are always demonised as being “too emotional” but even if you express no emotion you’re deemed as bitchy and mean 

mom made more than my father for my whole life.she worked an 8-4 in the weekdays while he took at least three 24 hour shifts in a week.mom is the sole reason I was a swimmer. she was the one who advocated for my language training so I could speak like a native at 13 years old. I love women who are like op''s and mine's. and if we are lucky one day we will be like this to our daughters too

Growing up with a gender non conforming mother literally saved me. She never wore makeup, she rarely shaved, she had short hair, she always put comfort first when choosing clothes, she never cared for skincare or anti-aging products in fact she’s proud of her wrinkles, she was a ‘these are signs of a fulfilling life’ mother not a retinol at 15 mother, she was a ‘eat whatever you want’ mother not a ‘are you gonna eat all that?’ mother, she was openly against plastic surgery, she stood up for her beliefs, she never let men talk down to her or belittle her, she was always down for a debate etc.

It didn't dawn on me until I got older that this wasn't 'normal'. That not everyone’s mother was like that. I rarely felt pressure to conform to patriarchal gender stereotypes because I didn’t grow up with one as a role model. In fact the only times I started to feel as though I should conform to ‘femininity’ was when I started integrating more into wider society and less in the comfort of my home. (Social media, friendships etc)

When I was a kid, I took it for granted, but now I see how blessed I was to be raised by a mother like that, and I see how much my friends and women online are struggling to accept themselves in totality, in their natural and unapologetic form. Since I was born, I thought it was totally normal for women to be like that … because it should be.

and to add to this muslims don't deny the similarities.they actually are proud of it in a twisted way where they tell themselves Allah has send this religion to many people in many different regions and times but other communities "refused" or changed the "original" script (isn't that ironic coming from Islam) to what they pleased so in their eyes they are the one who accepted and didn't muddied the real Islam

I speak a lot about how ironic it is that Christians that hate Islam want to be taken seriously for their faith, but I don’t think the average person understands how deep this irony goes.

For those not well read in both faiths, Islam is a nearly 99% identical copy of Christianity. Moses is Musa, Abraham is Ibrahim. Gabriel is Jibreel, Adam and Eve is Adam and Hawa. Joseph is Yousef, Job is Ayub. Ishmael is Ismael, Isaac is Ishaaq.

Same prophets, almost the exact same stories and canon. Muhammad was an illiterate shady businessman who saw Christianity for what it was, a way to control women and shut down critical thought. He aspired to be a pedophile warlord and borrowed methods from the exotic west to fulfill his goals.

His first wife was older than him. His last was a 6 year old. As he gained power through conquest after conquest, and had his “miraculous visions” of verses being revealed to him, no one could tell that nearly every line he spoke was a stuttering copy of a faith already popular in a far away land. His fellow traveling merchants could, and he was a laughingstock to them. His first scribe could and was banished for noticing his obvious plagiarism…He eventually had to switch gears and market Islam as a “final chapter” of Christianity.

So anyway, that’s why I find interfaith arguments darkly hilarious.

I might be off the mark here but I feel like so much of what other women call gender envy is just wanting to be sexually desirable without having to be a pristine passive object. It’s wanting to be active and kind of gross and rough around the edges and weird and attractive on your own terms, which is completely understandable, but bleak that those are only considered possible for men.

Is there a way to be critical of gender without denying that trans men are men etc? Let me explain.

Gender dysphoria is real and trans and nonbinary people have to be respected - that's what I believe. However, I see that a lot of discource about gender and identities is focused on stereotypes - like afab people saying thay they knew they weren't a woman because of their interests, personal style and being gnc in general, while all those things can be done while being a woman. Also what I've seen get called woman vibes are mostly stuff like nail polish or a caring nature, which are stuff I actually love seing in men (and everyone tbh, we need more nice people but that's unrelated). Everyone has their own mind and autonomy and freedom to identify as they wish, and it's not my business to inquire why they choose to identify the way they do, I acknowledge that because it's just called being respectful. So if a fem presenting person told me their pronouns are he/they, I'd use that since it's not really something I should dig about. I'll use that and prob see them as transmasc or wtv label they wish to use, and I'd also be normal about that. But I'm also kinda critical of the root of this - like me thinking I was a demi girl or nb because I felt uncomfortable in my body during puberty and tiktok told me it was a sign, but I still identify as a cis girl and I feel fine. I don't think trans women are just porn addicted men or that trans men are confused women, I'm just wondering why it's so based in stereotypes, you know??

TL;DR I don't want to come off as a transphobe, I want to articulate that despite criticising the concept of gender and its stereotypes, people's choices and pronouns should be respected and acknowledged. Is it still gender critical, or is it called something else? I want to find people who think similar as me.
