I desperately need Ilion The Musical to become a thing (when Jorge feels like it) so I can get more songs like Survive where Odysseus and Achilles are singing and shouting orders and we hear the Acheans and Myrmidons(?) all shouting like RAH RAH RAH! And it’ll be really cool and epic.

Sometimes I just need songs interjected with soldiers shouting.

The possibly Odyssean task of figuring out what’s for dinner.

“Let me interrogate the pantry. I’m thinking of pasta”

Pantry is borderline empty, so is the fridge. Theres Orzo but I made orzo yesterday.

“Ok what about rice and eggs”

Barely any eggs in the fridge

“Ok what about chicken”

No chicken.

“Okay what about potatoes?”

No potatoes

“Let me then make some mango sticky rice”

No mangoes. No coconut milk.

So now I have to go get mangoes and coconut milk, but I also just need to go grocery shopping because the kitchen is BARREN.

I tried to watch Black Sails, and I fear that I might be missing something. Like, the costuming and acting is really good (and the opening slaps), but the first episode felt…not interesting? Does it pick up later? I feel bad since a lot of people really like the show. All respect to people who do like the show though, I don’t have anything really against it.

If I’m not missing something, are there any other pirate shows you mates would recommend? I’ve only really seen Pirates of the Caribbean and Our Flag Means Death.

Another thought on Epic the Musical, do you want to know one detail that kills me every time?

If you look at the titles of the songs, the ONLY songs that are named after characters are songs that are named after monsters that are trying to slaughter as many people as possible (like Polyphemus, Scylla, and Charybdis). No human character or even any god gets a song named after them, only the monsters do.

But (MINOR SPOILER AHEAD), do you know what song 38 is titled? Odysseus.

Odysseus, the man made monster, who has become something so far from his own humanity that he is counted within the ranks of the terrible monsters that came earlier in the story. Odysseus, who will absolutely be trying to slaughter as many suitors as possible when he returns to Ithaca.

It's such a small detail, but it gets me every time I think about it! Because not only has Odysseus become a monster in the eyes of the other characters, but he has become one in the eyes of THE VERY MUSICAL ITSELF!

AHHHHHHHHH!!!

I had a dream last night where Jorge uploaded a secret saga before Ithaka, and Hera had her own song chastising Zeus for God Games, and Odysseus and Athena reunited with a We’ll Be Fine reprise.

Might do a drawing of Odysseus’ eyes during quick thought. I think it would be fun if his eyes temporarily turned blue with little constellations in them like Athena’s quick thought realm.

Something that I greatly respect Jorge for, is putting all of these little Easter eggs in each Epic song. Aside from listening to them on repeat because they slap, you can also listen to them on repeat and notice details in the music that you never knew were there.

Going to war for 10 years and will take another 10 years to return to Ithaka where my wife and son wait for me (I’ll be gone for a week, it’ll feel like a month, and my cat and dogs have little to no sense of time I fear)

i think people should implement the fact Odysseus cries CONSTANTLY in the Odyssey into their epic stuff more...cuz the sentence 'I then began to weep" is said so much itd take me forever to tally it up,

When we hear The Challenge for the first time I will cry a river
