maybe it's time for Thomas to stop ‘waiting for Alastair to look back’ and start going after him

I was reading the "Whos gonna die in cot" theories when i remembered something about the epilogue of clockwork princess.

When Tessa is remembering Wills death (sorry, ik we all hate to remember this but hang in there) and she was thinking of all the family they had. And so i read it back, and found this

Um, sorry, but uhhh WHAT HAPPENED TO THOMAS ??? Like is this how Cassandra is breaking the news to us, does thomas die ? PLS NOO, do Thomas and Alastair ever get together. WAHT HAPPENS TO HIM ???

OMG ALSO "Cecy's blue eyed boys" ... kit ? Cass pls dont take him. Both Anna and Alexander have blue eyes, and ik Anna is explained as a girl, she could have changed to being seen as a male, i mean we all know what she does, but if one of the "blue eyed boys" is anna, and the other alexander, THEN WHAT HAPPENS TO KIT ?? He has brown eyes, does he die ?? Cass pls dont do this to us.

Wow, so in conclusion, both THOMAS and CHRISTOPHER are either not at Will's death (which is weird, like y would they not be yk) OR THEYRE DEAD. WE ALL KNOW THAT CASS SAID ITS AT LEAST ONE CHARACTER THAT DIES. OMG IM NOT GONNA BE ABLE TO SLEEP TONIGHT.

I think Alastair is going to die in cot because of so many reasons, but also this unidentified snippet:

He spends so much time convincing Thomas he’s not in love with him (or at least giving Thomas that impression) and it makes sense for one of them to die because it would be utterly heartwrenching.

I very much hope I’m wrong though

Cassandra Clare LOVES the grew-up-too-soon x babied-all-their-life trope

Clary was sheltered up until the events of TCOB meanwhile Jace was getting raised by Valentine

Kit was forced to grow up quickly while Ty was babied by Julian and his family

Sophie was cast out onto the streets while Gideon had a fairly nice upbringing (besides his dad turning into a worm but let's face it he deserved it)

Lucie was raised as the daughter of one of the wealthiest Shadowhunter families while Jesse literally died as a kid

And do I even need to explain Thomas and Alastair...

And he fell in love with Alastair who is very good with words (footnote: I love the way of speaking and the extensive vocabulary Cassie chose for him) but quite often manages to fuck up when using said words. Just because he knows how to string fancy words together so that they sound nice it doesn't mean that Alastair gets his meaning across very well.

They really complement each other

Can we talk about how Thomas keeps on saying he doesn’t have a gift for words and he wouldn’t be able to charm Alastair or anyone with his words but with Alastair, he manages to say the most simple yet most important things that Alastair needs to hear

Whatever you do, don't imagine post-infirmary-scene Thomastair sound asleep, snuggled up in the narrow infirmary bed.

I'm a bit disappointed that Thomas's tattoo did not make an appearance in Chot...

I love how Thomas is an unreliable narrator in the sense that he never notices how other people react to his appearance because he is so self-conscious and has a rather low self-esteem regarding his physical appearance.

It takes Alastair to tell us that, apparently, people are ogling Tom because he looks so good.

On the other hand, we never actually see people reacting that way in any of the other character's POVs, and that can mean 2 things:

A) The others don't pay that much attention to Thomas because he is just kind-hearted Tom to them

B) Alastair in a way overinterprets other people's looks because to him, Thomas is so beautiful, how could other people not see it, how could they not want him?

Addition: In ChoG, Cordelia actually describes Tom as handsome, but not beautiful as James or Matthew (several times). Clearly, the Carstairs siblings have different tastes.

Basically, Alastair asking Thomas to move in is the equivalent of a marriage proposal (at this point I'm not sure about gay marriage in the Edwardian shadowhunter community, but I assume it was not yet a possibility).

Also, only Alastair could make such a proposal and then need thorough convincing that Tom wants the same, which is really heartbreaking.

Anyway, I need that full scene ASAP

Just saw this pickup line "Are you a tower? Because Eiffel for you" and it just screamed Thomastair to me. Specifically, I think Alastair would say this to Thomas because

1) Thomas is a giant and towers over everyone

and 2) they were specifically talking about the Eiffel Tower in ChoG

And now I just headcanon that Alastair said this to Thomas at one point who just laughed himself to tears.

Cast Long Shadows:

"You do not know what he [Alastair] said to me the day we were expelled."

Tom shrugged. "Some nonsense, I expect. He always speaks the most shocking nonsense when he is overset. You shouldn't listen to him."

A couple of lines later: "Oh well," said Tom. "I like his nonsense." He looked wistful. "I think Alastair masks his pain with cleverly turned phrases."

Can we talk about how Thomas knew Alastair extremely well, even back then? And how Matthew could have saved himself (and Thomastair) a lot of drama if he had just listened to Thomas? Now I just want a novella with each conversation in which Thomas got to know Alastair so well.

I also hope that Tom will remember his own advice in CoT... Not that I want him to stop listening to Alastair

Alastair in CoI: *apparently likes the name Thomas so much he uses it like five times per page*

On a more serious note, he only calls Thomas "Lightwood" in front of the Merry Thieves or when he's trying to mask his insecurity ("speak sense, Lightwood")

I'm 100% sure that Will knows about Thomastair

Paris really is the Thomastair city. Why were they locked in the sanctuary in the first place? Because the Mortal Sword was in Paris.

Perhaps I'm too late to wonder about the reason behind Blackthorns' bluegreen eyes..It must be because of Lucie (blue) + Jesse's (Green) = bluegreen /Blackthorn blue.

Blackthorns got their ocean color eyes from Jucie!
