Cathedral Background Changed

Hello, I don't normally post, I usually just reblog stuff. But anyway, while reading a story part (like where you update the buildings, I'm not good at explaining sorry) of Jiroo, I noticed the Cathedral looked different. I asked in the world chat, but the only person who replied had said that they didn't think so. So I looked back at some episodes and chapters and found this. And in all honesty, it looks uglier now?

First image is a screenshot I took in the past, because I was simping, I covered the text incase it counts as a spoiler.

Second image is the same episode and chapter and even text, as the first one, but with the different background.

Third image is what I saw when I went back to 'episode 1, chapter 3', to check if it changed, before I checked the second image.

Am I the only one who noticed? And what is everyone else's thoughts on this? ☠️

There is absolutely no good answer to this. Like I assume no matter what you choose, it's gonna choose for u cuz I don't believe games like this usually give you actual agency with choices, but like.

Picking Taiga would (probably) put MC in (at least perceived) danger, and Romeo and Ritsu do not get along.

Picking Romeo would leave Ritsu (responsible but sorta dumb) with Taiga (fucking wildcard, doesn't remember Ritsu most of the time, willing to kill)

Picking Ritsu would probably be the best option, cuz business partners so it's like logically founded, have the Cap and VC room and the business partners room, buuuuut it would also leave Romeo and Taiga in a room alone and they don't get along very well.

YES. Tokyo Debunker (the actual game) is literally nothing like the ads btw. I don't know why they even have these ads if they're gonna be so inaccurate.

Tokyo Debunker is a visual novel, basically. It follows a girl (you can name, bc ur the MC) who gets cursed by the supernatural, and the only thing that could've been a quick 'cure' doesn't work bc the curse is too strong.

I'm being purposefully vague to avoid possible spoilers btw. But from there the game is a lot like Twisted Wonderland, if you've played that. If not, basically you get sent to magic college and aren't allowed to leave for IMPORTANT REASONS.

A little look at the ACTUAL game:

(there are battles you have to auto to unlock some story occasionally.)

And there's the story:

There are a bunch of mysteries lore wise as the game isn't finished, but trust me when I say it's REALLY interesting.

Also, the translations of some lines are comedy gold.

So when I say ignore the ads when considering playing the game, I mean IGNORE THE ADS. There is not a single pixel within those ads that even remotely reflects the game.

IVE BEEN MISLEAD.

THE WHOLE TIME.

THEY CONVINCED ME. FOR SO LONG. THAT HAKU WAS THE SUSPICIOUS ONE. Obv he's still extremely suspicious but.

I KEPT FORGETTING ABOUT SUBARU. HE'S ALSO SO SUSPICIOUS.

So. Three suspicious thingamajigs. Maybe four.

One. Violent abuse? Gonna need some elaboration on that. The tree thing? Weird. His insistence on distancing himself from Lyca? Weird.

Two. Hakuuuuuu. Haku. In general, really. So much about Haku. I mean I had assumed he was in either Frostheim or Vagastrom before since he and Tohma had been in the same house before. Obv Frostheim, so that didn't surprise me.

He's so. ???? Like???? Yk what I mean? Haku is so. How to say. Clearly up to something yet charming enough to make it seem unimportant? Hell, not just make it seem unimportant, make it seem like a good thing.

He is suspicious as HELL, he's been pushing Zenji to get famous instead of doing what he enjoys, he's actually been pretty odd about Zenji in general, Rui was oddly cooperative in getting Mao to follow Haku, before saying "some coincidence." After they left. Also he absolutely used his Stigma- whatever that may be- on those two girls, why else would he push for taking a nap?

Speaking of naps- Three, what's up with Subaru? In the beginning of the episode, I mean. I don't think it's mentioned much at all after that.

Four, the wind still wasn't explained. End of the episode and nothing. I think. Maybe I glossed over it, but I don't think so.

Five. I guess there were more than four. Five, I had assumed Jiro was in a coma since the clash bc of some attack or smth, did he, like, try to off himself? Zenji said he didn't want to "miss another SOS" which means either Jiro's chronic illness had been showing signs long before he was in a coma, or the coma was caused by himself.

Anyway, if MC had a year back in September (EP.1) and it's January now (EP.15) that would mean we probably have another 8 months in-game aka (3 eps per in-game month) (3 months IRL per month in game) two years IRL until endgame!

I'm sure there's more mysteries I've forgotten about over the course of playing this episode, but either way, yk.

So. Uh. Quite a lot happened that episode.

First of all,

I had assumed the Clash was 2 years ago? It would seem I assumed wrong.

So the clash happened (likely because of the Laurel Crown), wherein Tohma switched from Vagastrom to Frostheim, Zenji died (?), Alan killed Dante, (probably during the clash) Jiro went into a coma, Dionysia kids went missing(?) (I think) (possibly Gen, Mio, and Elias?) three houses went defunct, Dionysia, Ultio, and Clementia, possibly Haru lost his arm..? Possibly Taiga's memory went wacky, and probably more im missing.

I don't remember when the OESB murder happened, but maybe that too.

Uh-oh. More drama brewing at Frostheim. It's always something with those fuckers, isn't it?

I think Leo is getting more tolerable..? He didn't trick her when giving her the file for Mortkranken, he had her back during the Fatal Prison, and overall he's just not been an insufferable POS lately.

Also, was that what he was looking for in the staff room? Cuz he implied that Tohma got those pills from Mortkranken, so what was in the staff room?

Poor MC, jeez. Absolutely no breaks, just corpse after corpse after corpse. At least Jabberwock was a break from the murders...

Anyway, if the clash was last year, why doesn't MC just ask Kaito about it? Unless there's a reason I've forgotten. He seems the most likely to actually be willing to speak on it.

So, firstly,

WHAT IS HE. HE IS SO CLEARLY NOT HUMAN. The duck bell attracted him too, "Humans can't fly, silly!" But like. Is he a Ram? A God? A Goose? WHAT ARE YOU???

Secondly, Gen, Mio, Elias. Those are the names we have. And apparently Haru is an amputee? Out of all the (very few, somehow) things that have been spoiled for me, I am very glad that THAT was not on the list.

Third, someone broke into Rens room? A seasoned Criminal? I genuinely can't think of anyone who would do that.

Lmfao.

They released... The same game. Except for a dollar this time. Why would they do this? Especially if there's no difference. Are they just hoping some people get unlucky and see this one first?

By the way what the hell is Leo's deal with impersonating officers of the law

Like bro has been in 2 goddamn chapters and both of them have him impersonating a cop and being the best at impersonating said cop.

It's bc of his misleading boyish whimsy and thirst for power to abuse isn't it. He's too morally corrupt they have to make him a cop bc nothing else makes sense

So, I've still been thinking about if TDBK MC went to TWST by accident, and I've been wondering.

Obviously they would end up sending some ghouls to go get her. That's the inspector, after all, they won't just leave her there once they figure out where she went. But who would they send? Which ghouls would be chosen to retrieve their dear Tokutaisei?

I've come up with some (fairly reasonable imo) requirements for who would be able to go, but I'm still not entirely sure.

No. 1, their absence from Darkwick (and/or appearance in NRC) cannot be blamed for harm caused to themselves or others. So no to Towa, Haru, Taiga, Ed, Rui, Yuri or Jiro.

No. 2, their responsibilities cannot be significant enough to cause destruction or disarray in their dorm upon their absence. So no Jin, Thoma, Alan, or Romeo either. Let's throw Subaru and Haku in as well bc even though Hotarubi seems chill, Subaru is a Dormhead and Haku is regarded as the responsible one.

So far that leaves Luca, Kaito, Leo, Sho, Ren, Ritsu, Zenji, and Lyca.

They also have to be willing, obviously, so no Leo, and possibly no Ren or Ritsu.

Luca, Kaito, Sho, Zenji and Lyca? Just two glaring problems.

First of all, half of them (not including Zenji in the headcount, since none of the others can see him,) are first years. Sure, they're strong, being ghouls, but it's still probably not a great idea to send freshmen on such an important mission. Though I suppose that's not exactly a disqualifier.

More importantly, NONE OF THEM ARE NEAR RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH. Luca is too eager to to jump in head first, Kaito is too cowardly, Sho isn't exactly that planner type (that I can tell,) none of them can fucking see Zenji in the first place, and Lyca is. He's Lyca. He's well-meaning and useful in a pinch, and would be helpful to find MC, but he's. He's Lyca.

So who might possibly be an exception to the former rules? Like who could break them with the least consequences?

... Quite a few people, really. Haku is responsible, he might be helpful. Jin never really leaves his room anyway, I doubt most Frostheim students would notice. Alan was gone for what, 2 days? For chapter 11? It's not like Vagastrom was in disrepair afterwards. Ed can probably survive without Rui for a few days, so as long as Rui is extremely careful about avoiding contact he might be able to go, and who knows maybe Sho might drag Leo with him.

Really it just depends. Jin retrieved her and Luca from the Pit, so it's not a massive leap. Haku is Haku. Alan's kinda a grey area idk. Rui would probably want to help. Leo might go just to stream it. he can't stream Darkwick, might as well make up for it with another magical college.

I fucking love Leo Kurosagi. He is the bitchiest, most selfish, egotistical piece of shit in the entire character roster and I love it.

And he's so obviously self-serving in everything he does too. When Jin holds her hand it's for his Stigma, when Towa clings to her it's just cuz he's like that, but when Leo does it? No fucking reason whatsoever. Obv to power up his stigma, but i'm talking about how he fucking clings to her arm.

There is no confirmation that being closer makes it more powerful, he's probably just doing this to fuck with her, and I find it. Hilarious.

All bark no bite. He doesn't fight, he doesn't threaten fighting, he insults and blackmails and

Everything he does, he does for fun.

But Alan is right! He can, and does, take things seriously! Often, too! He takes the initiative to use MC's ring to find the ghost, he comes up with the plan in the first place in both this chapter and the Takeru one, he's clearly distressed about Alan's life sentence, he looks up the records on his own, he's like 2nd place in exams, he was unwaveringly confident he could get Alan out, and on top of that he gave Alan several chances to get MC and Sho out of the room before discussing Dante.

He's mean, and bitchy, but he's not mean and bitchy for completely no reason. He insults and admonishes Subaru about Bonnie, but he shuts up (albeit reluctantly) when he learns the problem is resolved, he tries to get MC killed, (which is obviously not a good thing like wtf man) but he does it to get her 'out of the way' (not a good reason still but yk) he stops Alan from giving her the case file, but he only does it to make a copy bc Alan was going to hand off the only one.

My point isn't "he's a reasonable person" my point is "he doesn't do things purely to hurt other people." Is that a reason? Absolutely, fucking look at him. I'm not being an apologist, he fucking sucks and he's an outright terrible person, I'm just saying that he is by far the funniest and most realistic genre of "petty egoist asshole college boy" out there, and imo it makes him one of the most compelling characters in the game to me.

Leo is not a good person. Not at all, actually. But despite his OBVIOUS, APPARENT, AND SIGNIFICANT flaws, he is still, technically, a human. (Probably. Ghouls are confusing.)

And he does care. Quite a bit, actually. Just not even nearly as much about MC as he does Sho and Alan. And even while caring about Sho and Alan, he openly insults them both, inconveniences them often, and is generally very hard to get along with, but the game makes it very clear through his actions that he is not heartless, and is very willing to help when push comes to shove.

Maybe heart... Impaired, but not heartless.
