I like to imagine that Spectrum is just always decades ahead of the rest of the world in terms of tech which is 100% something ruby would have SO MUCH trouble just keeping to herself (plus clancy ofc) bc no matter what she says she’s a total nerd and would not be cool about seeing all this futuristic tech some time lmao
I would like to add that this VFD/marauders era of Ruby Redfort would be taking place in the 50s and I love that
