now that the daredevil fandom is back up and swinging, i’m seeing a lot of ship discourse.

matt and frank’s relationship is so important to me. the way that they understand one another on such a deep level, but they want so badly not to.

i see a picture or a line from daredevil and it genuinely makes me feel nauseous bc i care too much about it 😭😭😭

i love the idea of the writers being like “mwahaha then the viewers will think FRANK killed Hector” and then literally not one single person watching believes it was actually frank for a single second.

we all agree that wasn’t actually frank, right? it has to be one of the cops who idolize him or something. i refuse to believe that’s actually our frank.

the sound of the coqui and the waves at the end was such a perfect touch. absolutely heartbreaking.

lowkey gonna need to rewatch every episode. i got too distracted by how violently sexy he is.

DDBA SPOILERS!!! (episodes 1-2)

okay i have thoughts and none of them are in order and some aren’t very developed, but here they are so far:

-to start off positive, i like how matt’s blindness is being portrayed, maybe more than in the original. it shows how he is in fact visually impaired and that when he focuses on other things specifically he is affected by his blindness. (for example: episode 2 when he’s focusing on footsteps and almost gets hit by a cab)

-right off the bat, i knew we weren’t gonna get what we had in the original series. the opening shots and dialogue were too bright and clinical in my opinion, as is pretty common with disney.

-while the actors did an amazing job imo, the way it’s being filmed just lacks the grit and depth of the original series.

-that being said; matt crying on the roof did have me crying too, charlie cox is such an incredibly talented actor and even despite the flaws that opening scene had, he managed to pull me in and get me to care.

-there are moments and choices being made that i do like, and i’m sure i’ll enjoy the show even with the disappointing parts

-matt being framed in red light at the end of the first episode and the fight at the end of episode two that resulted with his daredevil yell were the most dynamic and classically daredevil moments and they give me hope

-also i was almost unable to pay attention to a single second of it because of how absolutely soulcrushingly and devastatingly attractive matt murdock is. it’s actually ridiculous.

*TLDR: i found the first two episodes of born again to be a bit disappointing and not living up to the standards that we have come to know and love from daredevil. that being said; through the amazing acting from charlie cox and the maintaining of matt murdock’s character, as well as some promising new characters and arcs, i’m sure it still will be an enjoyable watch.

the urge to ignore my unfinished commissions and flash art to only draw matt murdock and matt murdock only.

if anyone in quebec happens to want a daredevil tattoo i would do it for free 😭😭😭

i have my hopes set so unreasonably high for a frank/matt team up in born again. i love their dynamic so much, i can’t wait to see them yell at each other some more 🥰

i literally cannot stand sister maggie. i do not think she deserves forgiveness from matt. i know he has to give it to her to reconcile with his faith and everything, but the way she treats him especially at the start of s3? she’s so unhelpful and cruel.

sure, you could argue that it was “tough love”, and that he needed the push, but seriously there had to be better ways to go about it.

i know my takes can seem too black/white for what’s actually going on, but while i understand her character and the intricacies of the story, i really believe that she does not deserve his or our forgiveness.

maybe i just want to see matt loved in a way that doesn’t hurt…

one thing that bothers me about daredevil is how insistent the narrative is that dd is so similar to the bad guys he’s trying to stop. everyone is always saying how he just does this as an excuse to beat people up but i’ve never seen it that way?

imo there’s a pretty big difference between what he does and the people who are actively participating in human trafficking and murder and all that.

i get that he is angry and it is cathartic for him to be daredevil, but he literally has been hearing all the crime and violence happening around him for years, i’d be angry too.

this isn’t quite as well articulated as i’d like, and maybe i’ll revisit it when i’m more awake, but i want to know if i’m missing something?

putting matt murdock in that slutty little compression shirt and black mask is, and will always be, the sexiest thing marvel has ever done.

daredevil s1 ep1 fight scene in the rain, you will always be famous

consumed so much daredevil content in the past week that i gave myself eye strain and now can barely see ! oh the irony lmao

changed my lock screen to a daredevil picture and i genuinely get all happy and weird whenever i open my phone. i think i’m cooked, good god.

can’t wait for born again!! i am so excited for nothing bad to happen at all!! it’s actually just going to be matt and his friends being silly and having fun!!! maybe winning some court cases!!! noTHING BAD WILL HAPPEN !!!!

a matt and steven/marc/jake friendship where he’s so jealous that they can actually communicate with their god.
