So far this year, I have not posted on LGBT identity days as I have done in years past. I'd like to ask- did you enjoy those kinds of posts? Are they something you'd like to see more of?
I've made a poll. Would you like the identity day posts to return?
Please reblog! Diolch!
I don't usually make posts like this- but in case people are unaware, recently the Russian government passed laws which ban gender transition outright and have already passed laws which target LGBTQIA+ expression and existence. LGBTQIA+ Russians who want to flee are also facing difficulty leaving because many countries have shut their borders to Russians following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
Below are a few links to LGBTQIA+ orgs in Russia which support LGBTQIA+ people living there. If you can, please donate (bearing in mind that because of conversion rates, GBP or USD goes much further there and will really help out the orgs and LGBTQIA+ Russians).
центр-т / Centre-T (Gathers resources and information for trans people, organises private group chats for trans people, educates doctors, hosts meetings for trans people)
выход / Coming Out (Free psychological and judical consultations, monitors discrimination, hosts seminars and discussions)
Delo LGBT / LGBT Case (Provides analysis of the law and its affect on Russian LGBTQIA+ people, provides attorneys to LGBTQIA+ people in court)

Following on from this post I made yesterday, in which I listed some possible gender neutral Welsh terms for family brainstormed in the discord, I'm going to make a series of polls to find out which terms people prefer for each concept. In each poll I'll have two options and example sentences using each term (you are welcome to create your own as well). Your feedback is very much appreciated too! Reblog with tags or send an ask- either is fine!
And of course, please reblog for a larger sample size. Diolch!
Grandchild(ren):
Ŵyr(ion) m. - "Oes gennych chi unrhyw wyrion?" (Do you have any grandchildren?)
[‘ŵyr’ (grandson) normally, but may be used irrespective of gender in a similar fashion to the modern usage of terms like ‘ysgrifennwr’ (writer) over older terms like ‘ysgrifenyddes’ (female writer) ]
Other (I did not feel that wyrion could be improved upon, hence no alternate version here)
Very cool to discover our 'left-wing' government cutting billions from disability support while at the same time trying to add 'Feeling like a burden' to the list of reasons people should be allowed euthanasia.
These ghouls in suits are trying to kill me and my friends.
Do it with your bare hands Starmer you fucking coward.
You never think it's going to happen to you until it does.
Hi, my name is Luke and I'm 24. As of two days ago, I spent the last of my money on rent and I have precisely £27 to my name. I can't afford food at all any more - let alone rent and bills.
I know the world is so full of despair atm. Especially with what's going in in America. But I beg you to give me a chance, midst it all.
Depressingly, I only ever seem to make sales when I'm in a dire situation. Ideally, I need to make sales before then so I don't end up in the dire situation in the first place, but alas. I'm poor and hungry and can't heat my home. I'm wracked with guilt every time I fail to make progress on the project because I'm so damn focused on survival I have little time for what brings me joy in this world. And that's depressing!
I dislike having to make posts like this - but as I said at the start of this post - no-one ever thinks it's going to happen to them. If you can spare some cash, please consider buying a print or my dissertation to help me buy food (see here for my prints and diss). I have plans to introduce badges to my site as well - but sadly due to new postage laws they'll be UK only. However. I can ship prints to Canada, the US, UK and EU (with a view to shipping to Aus and NZ soon, amongst other places, if Royal Mail'll let me).
I hope one day to be able to make a post saying that I got out of poverty and am no longer surviving but thriving. Until then, your support is quite literally putting bread on the table. I want more than anything right now to be able to get back to doing what I love. But I cannot do so presently.
If you're about in Swansea on the 7th of February at 7pm, please consider coming to Elysium Gallery for the opening of Queer Land, an exhibition which my art is in! In spite of these circumstances I find myself in - I refuse to stop creating. Down, yes - but not out.
So please, please if you can, please reblog and purchase a print if you are able. It will help me wo much and I'm infinitely grateful to those who do.
Diolch

Doctors should snark at each other more, be a bit mean. Not for no reason, mind you. But if five doctors blow me off about symptoms and doctor number six FINALLY runs actual tests and gets a diagnosis, I think it should be Doctor Six's right to call up the other five and tell them they're lazy pieces of shit. That should be socially encouraged. Those first five doctors clearly can't listen to patients, but maybe another doctor might finally get to them.
Y llyfr heddiw yw 'Geiriadur Termau' gan Jac L. Williams, a gyhoeddwyd yn 1973.
Mae'r llyfr hwn yn bwysig iawn ar gyfer terminoleg LGBT+ yn yr iaith Gymraeg. Crëwyd y geiriadur ar gyfer addysg Gymraeg mewn amrywiol bynciau, er enghraifft: Daearyddiaeth, Mathemateg, Bioleg, Ffiseg, Addysg Gorfforol ayyb. Ar gyfer rhai o'r pynciau, crëwyd termau newydd fel 'lesbiad' a 'deuryw', 'lesbian' a 'bisexual' yn Saesneg.
Flwyddyn yn ôl, roedd y geiriau hyn yn 50 oed.
Ydych chi wedi darllen y llyfr hwn?

Today's book is 'Geiriadur Termau' by Jac L. Williams, published in 1973.
This book is very important for LGBT+ terminology in the Welsh language. The dictionary was created for Welsh education in various subjects, for example: Geography, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Physical Education etc. For some of the subjects, new terms were created such as 'lesbiad' and 'deuryw', 'lesbian' and 'bisexual' in English.
A year ago, these words were 50 years old.

Mis Tachwedd Hapus pawb! I am happy to announce the publication of one of my next dissertation chapters on the Association of Celtic Students blog here:
This is my fourth dissertation chapter (the third will be released on my patreon next month) and focuses on the development of Welsh-language LGBTQ+ terminology during the AIDS crisis in the United Kingdom.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions - either on here or at llyfrenfys@gmail.com.
Y llyfr heddiw yw 'Queer Sex' gan Juno Roche, a gyhoeddwyd yn 2018.
Mae'r llyfr hwn yn gasgliad o gyfweliadau rhwng Roche a phobl drawsryweddol eraill. Testun y cyfweliadau yw 'rhyw cwiar' - y ffyrdd o gael rhyw pan yn drawsryweddol. Mae pob cyfweliad yn y llyfr yn ddiddorol iawn!
Ydych chi wedi darllen y llyfr hwn?

Today's book is 'Queer Sex' by Juno Roche, published in 2018.
This book is a collection of interviews between Roche and other transgender people. The topic of the interviews is 'queer sex' - the ways of having sex when transgender. Each interview in the book is very interesting!
