Small detour from my usual wof content. Made this for a playlistober prompt I never cared about you by the mixed matches. Amazing song.

Also recently got yellowfangs wish cause my local bookstore does have wof arc 2 for me to read at work. so library is next place I'm looking (i think they're back open. I'm in a smaller town so places like the library will close randomly lol)

But it makes me think of my cat ocs again

Turtle

Wings of fire au where everything is the same except turtle is hiding away on an island just surfing

While I enjoy a good nervous character I think it would be so cool if turtle was more of this "the world is harsh and mean but out on the water none of it matters. Its just me."

in this au of sorts I imagine he left in his teen years feeling overwhelmed from his powers and status yet undersupported due to the lack of attention from his mom. Hitting a point of still loving and caring for those around him but recognizing that in this spot he'd be stuck being unhappy.

He left to a secluded island enjoying the peace of solitude and finding a love of surfing. time passes and kinkajou and moon get washed up on his island probably chasing a mystery or somthing idk. Moon of course is wary of this random seawing while kinkajou is thrilled. Moon figures out who he is, to his dismay, and they have a chat about powers n such

"Your a prince and an animus... you have the power to do so much yet you just... sit here doing nothing... sorry that sounds harsh.."

"No need to apologize I see your point... I could do so much but I could also damage alot.. including myself. I dont want to loose myself for others who could care less about me. For now... taking care of me is all I need to do."

Moon would eventually be understanding. Kinkajou on the other hand is having too much fun learning to surf and enjoying the flora and shells Turtle finds on the beach.

(imma be 100% here and say I didnt really think too deeply about this au, I really wanted to draw turtle surfing lol. so excuse its messy nature and the fact that if turtle was like this half of like arc 2 wouldnt exist 💀 )

The new seawing in the reef

Sunhunter waited silently in the sand. She hated being so… out in the open. Especially now. She jumped hearing a dragon rise from the water.

"Relax. Just me." Snapping turtle shook off a stray piece of seaweed. His spots gave a faint yellow flash in the moonlight. "If your here just to tell me that I'm in danger I know…" sunhunter frowned at the familiar look the seawing held.

"I'm here to offer you a way out actually." He trudged through the sand as it began to clump on his wet talons. He shook the sand off and opened his talon. Within it was an earring, a shiny pearl carved in the shape of a star. "Oh its beautiful… but how is jewelry supposed to help me?" Sunhunter took it into her talon to further examine.

"Argile made it so he could come with me into the deep palace. He doesn't really come into the ocean these days." He glanced toward the deep blue "it's enchanted. It'll turn you into a seawing as long as you wear it."

Sunhunter felt her scales shiver "Snapping turtle… I can't… all my visions... they come in water I don't want to imagine how awful it would be in the water…" she shook her head. "How do you know? You've never been in the ocean." He leaned forward "Sunhunter you don't really have a lot of options here. The skywings are after you… they can't go into the ocean."

Snapping turtle was right. The mercenaries and assassin's were getting more crafty. Even those against the skywings would give longing glances at her. No doubt gaging whether or not the bounty was worth it. "I..I dont know how to be a seawing.." she frowned "I don't know aquatic or how to swim or or-" "I'll teach you." Snapping turtle flashed a rare smile. "What about the talons? I still want to help the peace effort…" she looked at the earring. "Oh for moons sake forget the talons! This is your life in danger!" He exasperated "Sunhunter… please… I dont want to see you become some trophy for the skywings.." His eyes were weirdly desperate.

Sunhunter sighed and slipped the earring on. A deeply cold chill ran through her scales. She shut her eyes tightly as the world spun, she stumbled forward and met Snapping turtles chest. Past the pounding in her head she could hear him "Its alright… Argile struggled a bit as well…"

Her scales stopped tingling and the pounding headache faded. She felt snapping turtles wing on her back, brushing softly. She also felt her new gills, webbed toes, and flashy spots. She opened her eyes to find her new night vision. Also finding herself needing to look up toward snapping turtle "Oh making me shorter than you is unfair." Snapping turtle snorted "Welcome to being the short and stocky tribe."

Sunhunter stumbled steadying herself. She used to be shoulder heavy but now her weight was all over. She felt stronger despite being shorter. Snapping turtle stared and sunhunter rolled her eyes "I know I look stupid don't I.." "No.. I think you look good as a seawing. I like that the earring chose a mix of more saturated green-ish blue scales. Unique in pattern but not out of place for a seawing." He smirked "but I do miss your original look."

Sunhunters face scales felt faintly like her sandwing warm ones but it went away quickly. She smiled "I have a great hunger for fish now." "Beats those awful roasted tarantulas you used to eat." He stuck his tongue out. "You never tried them so don't start." Sunhunter raised her head, her shiny sea ready scales catching the moonlight. Watching the moons for a moment she turned back to snapping turtle "Well what should my new name be? Sunhunter isn't... seawing... like."

He glanced away "hm.. clam?" "Clam?" Sunhunter retracted "Are you saying I have a big mouth?" She glared. "No! I just- ugh ill get something else…" He rubbed his chin "I'm not good at names…"

Sunhunter sighed before flopping into the sand. A faint dizzy feeling hitting her like a wave "So when does the dizzness stop?"

Snapping turtled perked up as she curled into a C "Cove! Your new name should be cove." He smiled as sunhunter titled her head "Hm... I do like it... but it doesnt mean something dumb does it?"

"No no... A cove is just a small bay often secluded. The waters often have a greenish blue look." He nudged her with a wing "I can show you."

"Ok... but dont let me drown..." She steadied herself and headed toward the water

Snapping turtle chuckled "Of course."

I relate to this dude too much especially for a sci fi show. So wyn is somewhat of a sona but more like an oc im handing over a bunch of traits I have as like a reward

Anyways Wyn, she/they, is a changling who isnt the best at holding forms. Their best form is their humaniod one which even then looks awkward as they find sitting in chairs "normally" to be extremely uncomfortable. When too uncomfortable their form will start to weird out, like her limbs will get a little long, fingers as well, and they get a bit drippy.

another trait I gave wyn is the fact my smile looks strained as hell. Idk why but ive never really had a great smile in photos im physically unable to fake smile without looking in pain💀

She hangs around Whiteeyes due to having hitchhiked onto their ship years ago. Whiteeyes and their people are go with flow so when finding Wyn it was like a "yo welcome aboard"

random thoughts for whiteeyes species is that the ladies are very tall while the dudes are usually short then nonbinary fellas are in the middle. so after being introduced to the others it was like

"Why are there never any green cat (I have no clue what id name this "speices") women on the station?"

"Theyre way too tall. this place isnt big enough."

Mudwing of amber scales

Getting from the sand kingdom to the mud kingdom wasn't easy. The war didn't make it any easier. Sunhunter had flown day and night, fueled only by fear. The sight she saw in the vision still haunting her. She couldn't bare to look at the mountains when she had passed them. Finally over the rainforest the outskirts of the mud kingdom were in view. This side of the kingdom remained untouched by war. Once a place regarded for only the low born mudwings was turned into a bustling city. Being the closest to the rain kingdom it made for a good base camp.

The Diamond spray was where battles were often held. A faint burning glow sat on the horizon. Sunhunter wondered where the queen was. Her palace was so close to the war and yet sunhunter hear she refused to leave it.

In her thoughts she missed the rainwing patrol. The slender soldiers shot into the air slamming into her wings. She tumbled downward flailing trying to catch some balance. The rainwings followed and wrapped their tails around her limbs yanking in different directions. It took about six to slow her fall. Seven to full restrain her.

Sunhunter growled as she thrashed "let me go! Please! I must find someone!" Her eyes caught a few of the soldiers faces as they were back down within the camp. Their noses wrinkled as their tails let her go "hybrid…" one grumbled to the others. "We're giving you mercy but dont think trying to sell Queen Gila or Queen DiamondCrusher secrets will give you the same result…" they slithered back to their posts.

Sunhunter knew all too well both queens distaste for hybrids. Just last week her hybrid friend goldtail tried to trade rainwing secrets for immunity…. his head now sits stuffed on Queen Gilas wall. Sunhunter shut her eyes tightly trying to forget the image as well as to quiet her spinning head. After a moment of regaining her footing she looked around. While mudwings and rainwings werent crazy about hybrids they held less murderous urges. Worst sunhunter got was a weird look. It could also be they were too busy fighting the war to care. A few large mudwings with frills and rainwings with heavy plating walked about. They didn't seem to be worried about it. Sunhunter had to shake her head again. She had gone off track thinking. She started into the city. Mudwing of amberscales…. Mudwing of amberscales….

She could only frown finding hickorys, chocolates, umbers, mahogany, russets, chestnuts, and even a few siennas. Out from a large mud den glowing from inside, came two figures. One mudwing of darker browns scales, they waved to mudwing behind them before disappearing into the crowd. The mudwing they waved to….. covered in sparking amber scales. He was large and had a few deep scars on his shoulders. His sides were speckled with amber like stars in the sky. Sunhunter couldnt tell if they were apart of him or if he embedded them himself. She wriggled past the crowd and made it to the den. She didn't pause before entering. The mudwing looked up with a jolt. The inside of his den was cozy with blankets and pillows. The glow was coming from a burning fireplace, warmed the place enough that it felt like the desert to sunhunter. He laid near it was a scroll at his talons. Instead of being angry, shocked, or screaming at sunhunter to get out… he raised a brow. "I wasn't expecting you so soon." "What?" Sunhunter shook her head. "Take a seat you must be exhausted." He motioned a talon to the pile of deep purple pillows.

Sunhunter didn't protest despite her shock. She flopped into the pile and curled her barbed tail in. So soft. She could feel her eyelids growing heavy already. Quickly lifting her head she continued "How do you know me? How did you know I was coming?"

This started as just a simple sketch and then I went a little overboard testing brushes and layer settings. Is this my favorite piece? no. Is it my least favorite? nope. I still enjoy this piece (mainly cause I love mavshoon and Vanya and could never forget big ol thor.)

their relationship slowly formed over their journey as the two realized they were much more alike than they knew. Mavshoon enjoys being open with Vanya. Mavshoon is judged as being some tough criminal but truely hes a kind, respectful, and loving man. He misses his family and feels bad for what happened. Vanya enjoys Mavshoons dry humor and big heart. Vanya grows to be more confident in herself and realize she doesnt have to please everyone.

small edit: Mavshoons family isnt dead they just had a fight. I just re-read my writing and could see how that could be slightly misinterperated
