My favourite thing about watching BNHA is seeing the all-round brilliant art style, with its appealing colours and smooth, expressive animation. And then suddenly shifting to scenes with Todoroki, in which every fucking movement is an ode to Angels, the colours are bolder and every particle of ice looks ten times better than anything Frozen could've done. His expressions can be broken down into frame-by-frame minute changes, with his fire looking like every animators wet dream. It's like someone higher up has a VERY apparent thing for Todoroki, and ensured. all of the animation budget was used to make sure Todoroki looked glorious no matter what. It worked.
Alright, so I had to instantly make a continuation of my mildly angsty sword fighter au post on what would happen to Marco after being reverted back to his young self. First of all, this kid is LITERALLY 30 YEARS OLD MENTALLY!! He remembers every single moment he spent away from earth's dimension, so it's canon that Marco is mentally and probably emotionally a hell of a lot older than all of his current friends. Talking to people just a few years younger than you is hard enough as you both struggle to relate, so imagine the struggle Marco is going to go through as he tries to interact with people who he hazily remembers were his friends. 16 years have passed since he last saw Janna, Jackie and even Star; his relationships with them are going to be vastly different to what they were before. Would Marco even be interested in Jackie anymore after spending 16 years away from her??? He's mentally 30, liking someone that you will be so weird to him, and he's probably long since grown out of his school kid crush. That lack of romantic affection will be jarring to Jackie, as to her she's just started developing a tentative romantic relationship with Marco, whose now just not interested. Furthermorw, this Marco is going to lose his A+ streak at school as he cant even remember covering any of the topics at school. He's going to forget people's birthdays, their interests and even his own old ones. This Marco will be a stranger; a mature and serious kid that lacks any of Marco's old dorky charm as he's long since outgrown his social awkwardness. Don't even get me started on how Star will suffer as she watches her best friend run himself into the ground in order to build himself back up into the amazing sword master and hero he once was. Or the sense of awkwardness between them as Marco forgets simple facts about Star, or gets lost in his head over things that happened while he was away. Star will be constantly worried over whether Marco wants to go back to the other dimensions, back to being impressive and important once more. On the bright side, soon Marco would begin to grow used to his body and train it up to a decent level of strength so he can do all of the amazing stunts he used to do, including wielding the sword he kept from his travels. Cue most of the kids at his school getting ridiculous crushes on Marco with his intense and mature personality, his vast knowledge about cool tricks like Motorbike stunts and crazy sword wielding skills, and his rocking bod. Additionally, think about his amazing friendship with HP, who often pops into his dimension to simply chat, give moral support or help him train. (Maybe even a jealous Star in the background because did no one else pick up that flirtatious tone Marco and HP between one another? Those two have so much history)
While we can agree the Voltron fandom is currently a crash site of vicious disagreements and ship wars, one thing that has risen above the ranks is the sheer amount of ao3 author support. A lot of people are frustrated with the newest season, particularly if (like me) you’re a member of the LGBT+ community who has come face-to-face with the “Bury your gays” trope yet again, or even if you’re someone who has issues with how the plot or characterisation has been done. Everyone’s frustrations are valid because everyone has their own opinion (and I’ll slip in here that while these emotions are yours to express please don’t abuse the creators of Voltron, they deserve respect like any human), but I am LIVING for the sheer amount of genius fix-it fics that have been boosted on this website. While discourse will continue, please be respectful of the fic writers who put their effort into improving the plot how they see fit, and enjoy the works that they lovingly give to the fandom. A lot of reblogs of fics are appearing in the tags so keep up the support for our fandom in these tough times and channel your shipping frustrations into supporting your favourite authors!! Stay positive through these dark times and respect one another!!
Shiro choosing Keith to be a cadet over Griffin is the equivalent of being shown the most well-behaved dog in the pet store but still choosing the one that’s been chewing on your shoe the whole time.
*Takes off disguise* Yes…
I am the person who had the problem with the post about Dipper messing with abusing Pacifica’s parents!
I was staying anon but then I decided fuck it.
I feel like Pacifica would have definite problem with Dipper’s actions as well, so I decided to make a comic out of it. Pacifica and Dipper are a bit older, around 15-16.
For Gravity Falls fans who don’t follow Transcendence AU, all you need to know to read this comic is the premise Dipper has Bill’s powers and is growing ever-more demon-like due to that. I feel the message is important to everyone.
*Brennan revealing one of the main characters, a cop, is crooked* oh?
*Suddenly revealing that a whole hierarchy of crooked cops have managed to infiltrate the justice system* OH!
Okay but like the HxH movies are so much unnecessarily gayer than even the tv show. One of the first scenes in Phantom Rogue is Killua staring adoringly into Gon's sleeping face, after which they start arguing like a married couple. Then you've got Leorio fussing over Kurapika and never letting him out of his sight, That Scene everyone knows where Gon is splayed over Killua's lap after getting knocked off their feet (they got knocked into each other a suspiciously large amount of times in that one fight), as well as Killua holding Gon's hand to lead him to the mansion, despite Kurapika walking unassisted behind them (Killua is so thirsty for skin contact but doesn't wanna say it in actual meaningful hugs). And the worst contender of all: Killua literally acting like a jealous boyfriend as soon as he met Retz. He was so threatened by her when he thought she was a guy, but not so much when she was a girl???? He must think Gon is like exclusively gay if he's only worried about him being taken by another guy (despite Gon being a powerful pansexual icon). Please watch the HxH movies. You will not regret it.
I know we all love our cute cinnamon roll Deku with his mumbling and pure heart, but the last episode really emphasised how truly terrifying this boy is. Deku's determination has been commended multiple times by many different people, seen as a way for other characters to feel motivated and inspired to be better heroes and people. However, ultimately, this determination serves as the main reason why he's so terrifying. In the last episode we really got a clear image of how far Deku will go in order to achieve a goal he has set (the training camp arc, and sequential fight for Kouda really fleshes this point out to a ridiculous degree). Saving Todoroki was the only thing on his mind, he didn't even think about the future consequences, but only whether or not each injury would hinder him from continuing to pursue his goal. Frankly the lengths he went to, absolutely destroying his hands so much that he required extensive surgery, should be something that should terrify most people, especially villains. Here's a kid fresh into the academy who can take breaking his bones multiple times over with only a grimace, while also coming up within genius plans on the fly under pressure and pain that surpasses what most people will ever experience in their lives. Villains often rely on their ability to terrify people with their capacity to inflict bodily harm and death without flinching. The threat of huge amounts of pain is bound to make most heroes pause and lose momentum for a moment out of personal fear. However, how are you meant to scare a fucking kid who doesn't flinch at breaking his body apart for a mere school contest?? The thought of going against anyone like that is terrifying, and it's reflected in the faces of the other students and spectators. Especially Shinsou. The look of horror on his face isn't just of seeing such horrible injuries. No. It's of seeing self-inflicted injuries out of pure determination without flinching on the opponent he just faced. He's only just realising the lengths Deku would go to succeed in his goals, and the pure strength he wields. Shinsou didn't know how powerful Deku really was, but he's just realising that, out of spite for being manipulated, Deku could've sacrificed a finger in order to shatter any part of Shinsou. If Deku was determined to do it, it definitely would've happened and Shinsou would've been powerless. That's fucking horrifying. Deku wields a power that can destroy buildings and his body with ease. And he's willing to do that in order to fulfill his goals. Not only is the sight of his broken body horrifying to most, but the knowledge that if this boy had a reason to turn his back on society, on being a hero, they would all be fucked. Here's someone willing to sacrifice everything for a goal decided mere minutes before the match, imagine what he could do with years of planning and control of this destructive quirk?? Deku is truly overlooked for people like Bakugo and Shinsou as villains in the manga/anime, and that definitely needs to stop because if Deku became the face of villainy, no one could stand against his tactical mind, pure power, and single-minded focus.
If you ever feel like your family is a bit odd, please know my family has a long history of keeping track of one another in our 3-storey house by basically echolocating with chirps and soft howls. Like it’s impossible to describe how, every time I step into my house, the fucking spirit of some long dead creature possesses my body to make a long, monstrous crooning noise so that I can tell who is home by the distinct noises I get in return.
Most people can tell who is where in the house by the sound of footsteps, but since my house has tiles we’ve come to rely on making the occasional chirp to get a reply and pinpoint where a certain family member is -- it’s mostly done because my brother is an ass who never tells anyone whether he’s coming or going, so you got make insistent chirps to get a grunt in reply.
Now this shit has been fucking pavlov’d into the very core of my dumb primitive lizard brain so it shouldn’t even surprise me that upon moving into a flat share, I immediately performed this behaviour unthinkingly. So, into the large, echoing house that housed 6 other strangers, I made a loud bellowing noise as I toed my shoes off and nonchalantly made my way to the kitchen. To which, one of the 30-year-old men just living his good life in the living room by the door, promptly freaked out, dropped and shattered a glass, while choking on the beer still in his mouth.
All because some weedy young girl made a noise reminiscent of a wildebeest for no apparent reason.
Having adrichat and whatever the fuck BeetlejuicexStanley Pines is called on my dash simultaneously is like the two wolves inside you meme except it’s 2 crack ships no one ever should’ve proposed fighting over who is going to make more ridiculous fan art of it
Me: I’m tired of Keith being the main character in every season when the rest of the characters desperately need more character development!!
Season 6: What if we gave you soft moments with Keith’s gorgeous mum, including tender flashbacks that show Keith’s tragic background and how much his parents truly loved him.
Me: ....that’s cool but still-
Season 6: How about fully explaining Keith’s relationship with Shiro and using the most breathtaking animation and devastating lines to really make you feel the love and pain between them.
Me, sniffling slightly: No, uh, that’s totally cool but-
Season 6: There’s flashbacks to tiny Keith looking up to Shiro, the only person who believed he was a good kid with a bright future, he just needed someone to not give up on him.
Me, discreetly wiping a tear: T-that’s definitely something I wanted, but you can’t deny-
Season 6: Alrighty then, how about we show how much Keith has grown by displaying his desperation and fear of losing the team and not being to do anything, accompanied with contrasting close-ups of his friends scared faces and Keith’s cracking frantic voice as he called out for these people that have now become his family. We’ll even throw in the culmination of his development to becoming the team leader by showing how he listens to everyone’s opinions/plans but they all listen to him without question to execute each move perfectly, creating a more powerful Voltron because their love for each other is so strong.
Me, all out sobbing: I’m so proud of my boy and who he’s become!!!!!
