dele usually loved that you got on with his friends and teammates, but when he hadn’t seen you in weeks and you were sat with Eric laughing every five seconds and giving him all of your attention he wasn’t a big fan of it. When you both left the Tottenham team dinner he was silent on the drive back but you thought nothing of it - you were tired after all. And it’s when you got back, in bed, rolled over and trying to sleep that he mentioned it. ‘Why don’t you just go to fucking Eric’s’ he spoke in a hoarse voice and it seemed so out of the blue to you because why on earth would you do that? And you found it funny because he was the one who took you to the dinner, what were you supposed to do, ignore them all? ‘If you didn’t want me to speak to any of them you shouldn’t have taken me’ and he knows you’re right but he doesn’t want to admit it so he just snuggles into your neck, making unintelligible noises and you laugh, basking in the warmth of his body. ‘No need to be jealous, del. Eric’s got nothing on you.’

It’s not that you didn’t like James, you loved him and you loved spending time with him and Ben - together they were comedy gold. But you hadn’t seen him for two weeks and him sitting with James, laughing about jokes that you’ve missed and ignoring you was not fun for you. So you moped around the house, waiting for him to leave. And when he does Ben places his arms around your waist, nuzzling into your neck, muffled whisperings of ‘baby’ as he swayed you back and forth. ‘Why’d you not speak to James much? What’s wrong?’ And you’re spinning out of his arms with a muttering of ‘nothing’ and he’s not letting you go, pulling you back into his chest, and your whining, not wanting to admit you’re jealous of madders because how ridiculous is that. But Ben knows you better than anyone so of course he knows there’s something wrong, lifting your head up, hand on your cheek, ‘I’m all yours from now on.’
