Steve becoming fluent in Eddie.

Let me explain. Eddie has a bad habit of talking with his mouth full; not realising he’s muttering; or making random sounds and expecting people to understand what he’s trying to convey. It’s a hang over from being non verbal as a kid.

When Steve first starts dating him, he’s at a loss. His own hearing isn’t great, and even with his hearing aids he has to work hard to figure out what Eddie’s trying to tell him. But eventually he gets the hang of taking ques from Eddie’s body rather than his words. He also gets a helping hand from Wayne who has been reading Eddie’s physical cues since his boy was eight.

So when Eddie flumps down on the bed and speaks into the pillow “ihateeverythimantheworldithterablethomeonekillme,” everyone else is confused. But Steve just doesn’t even look up from his magazine and says.

“Leave him he’s being dramatic. Wayne said he couldn’t have just poptarts for dinner or he’d get scurvy.” And everyone is in awe of him, because he speaks Eddie.

Eddie: mrph

Lucas: What??

Steve: he wants a hug dude, just cuddle him.

Eddie: *mumbles something basically incomprehensible*

Nancy: I’m sorry was that even English.

Steve: he’s trying to suggest that it’s not his fault that Robin has no spacial awareness.

He’s wrong, he is absolutely to blame *glares at Eddie who makes a ‘nuhuh’ noise* but that’s to the effect of what I assume he just said.

Everyone seems to think that Dazai would hate riding on Chuuya’s motorcycle but I am going to take the wild stance and say:

No, he loves it. He gets to hug Chuuya and he can’t be mad about it. Dazai just acts scared so he can hug Chuuya more

Chuuya: you don’t have to hold on so much. I’m going like 25

Dazai: *pretending to be scared* Chuuya is gonna kill us both

Chuuya: fucking stop it!

Dazai: *smiling and hugging him more* no! I can’t die on Chuuya’s death trap!

Dazai gets floor time and Chuuya gets ceiling time. We call that balance.
