absolutely LIVE for Leo using southern style pet names like: darlin, sugar, honey etc and finn and Logan absolutely loving it

GUESS WHO'S BACK WITH HER COMPUTEEEEERRRRR!!!! This means I can write faster, which is SUCH a relief. I've already banged out a couple of prompts today, and am so excited every time I get new ones!

Have some FinnLo being jealous of fur babies, and Leo being the sweetest sunshine that ever shone. :)

Credits to @lumosinlove :)))))

It all started with a dog and a cat getting more affection than him.

Well, that wasn’t necessarily true. But Logan liked to pretend it was so he could justify the way he narrowed his eyes at the two animals when they were the subject of Leo's affections.

They were in Nice for a few weeks by themselves before guests were supposed to start arriving for their wedding. It hadn't been difficult to pick the location, and they had more than enough money to pay for their non-professional athlete friends and family members to come, but the process was long and stressful and Logan, quite frankly, had had enough by the time the hockey season had ended. A few weeks with just his soon-to-be husbands sounded just perfect to him- sand, sun, and the beautiful French sea.

And it was perfect- until Leo's affections had been diverted elsewhere.

The nice ladies down at the tailors where they bought their sweaters had over the years grown quite fond of Leo. Logan could relate, obviously- it was hard not to love the epitome of sunshine in human form. Leo brought them coffee and pastries a few times a week from the place they all liked and always bought sweaters and shirts to bring back as gifts for birthdays and holidays, which Eloise absolutely loved. But more than the ladies adoring him, the store's beagle, Antoinette, and calico cat, Xavier, had really, truly fallen in love with him. They always rushed to him, sat in his lap, licked at his hands gently. So when Madame Colette had asked if Leo wanted to pet sit while she and her husband were on vacation for a little while, Leo had of course enthusiastically obliged.

Logan never thought he'd be so jealous of four-legged animals.

“Hi, darlin’, hi!” Leo cooed as Antoinette rushed to greet him at the door. “Sweet girl, how are you?”

She barked happily and hopped on her toes until Leo knelt down to scratch her ears. She tilted her head into his hand, tail happily wagging and making soft, appreciative noises through her nose. Logan scowled- he was the one that normally received head scratches.

There was a meow from the other side of the kitchen, and Logan almost scoffed. Xavier sauntered around to nudge at Leo's other hand until he scratched his head, too. Logan's fingers gripped tightly around his mug of coffee.

“Hi, sugar, how are you? Were you sleeping? You're so pretty, look at you.”

Antoinette barked again, Xavier meowed, and Logan huffed.

At the noise, Leo looked up and smiled. “Good morning, sweetheart.” He held up a bag. “I've got some nice bread and pastries to go with the eggs this morning.”

Logan just petulantly took a sip of coffee.

Leo’s eyebrows furrowed. “What's wrong?” When he saw Logan's eyes dart to the animals still at his feet, he let out a laugh. “Logan, you can't be jealous of a dog and a cat.”

Logan blushed. “I'm not.”

“You are.” Leo scratched each animal one more time before standing and walking around to the other side of the counter. He pressed against Logan's back, large hands cupping his hips, and began to kiss his neck. “I agreed to marry you, remember?”

Despite himself, Logan smiled and leaned into Leo's mouth. “Ouais.”

“I'm going to be your husband, yeah, baby?”

Logan felt his heart kick like it did every time Leo used a pet name. They sounded so good in his accent: the way the ‘o’ in ‘honey’ had an exaggerated ‘u’ sound; the way Logan saw a NOLA sunset every time Leo said ‘sweetheart’; the drawn out ‘a’ sound in ‘baby’, like how all people from New Orleans said it. Logan wanted more and more of those words from Leo's mouth only.

He turned to cup Leo's jaw and kiss him. “Je t'aime.”

Leo smiled against his lips. “I love you.”

Logan kissed him quietly again, content with Leo's warm hands on his hips and his soft hair slipping through his fingers. They maybe got a little too into it, because there was a protesting meow from close by, and they knocked their noses together as they pulled apart.

“Sorry,” Leo whispered, kissing Logan's nose and mouth quickly. They both turned to find Xavier examining them expectantly. Leo smiled. “Don't you worry, darlin’, I didn't forget about you. I bought you your food.” He picked Xavier and the shopping bag up and walked towards the living room where the food bowls were, Antoinette following close at his heels. “C'mere, sweethearts, let's get you some breakfast.”

Logan scowled again as his eyes followed Antoinette’s wagging tail and clacking feet. Another warm presence came up behind him and a kiss was pressed to his shoulder. “What are you so grumpy for?”

Logan turned to face Finn. Their noses were brushing. “Leo loves the cat and dog more than us.”

Finn just stared at him for a second before breaking out into a grin. “No he doesn't.”

“This week he does.”

“No he doesn't,” Finn repeated. He wrapped his arms more firmly around Logan's waist. “He just loves animals. Like our own Disney princess, Snow White or Cinderella or something. Rapunzel, maybe, they've both got good hair.”

Logan leaned back against Finn's chest. “He calls them ‘darling’ and ‘sugar’.”

Finn's eyes were confused. “So? He calls us all sorts of things.” His eyes went soft. “I love the way he says ‘baby’ and ‘sweetheart’. And ‘honey’. A tall glass of Southern lovin’.”

Logan elbowed Finn lightly. “He calls them those names, too.”

Finn blinked. “Huh.” He looked to the archway that led to the living room. They could hear Leo talking softly to Xavier, trying to get him to eat. “Well, that's- I mean…”

“It's not fair.”

“Well, I wouldn't go that far, but-”

They were interrupted by Leo walking back through to the kitchen. Somehow, Antoinette had ended up in his arms. She looked content, head on his shoulder and eyes closed, like a sleeping baby. Logan could feel Finn freeze behind him.

When Leo saw them both, he smiled. “Hi.” He patted Antoinette's back. “We're gonna sit in the sun for a few minutes, then I'll get started on breakfast.” He leaned across the counter to kiss them each briefly, then sat in the breakfast nook that always caught the morning sun. It lit his hair up in gold and reflected in his bright blue eyes as he settled Antoinette in his lap. She looked up at him with wide eyes, tail wagging as he kissed her forehead. “There you go, darlin’. Lay down, sweetheart, we'll rest for a few minutes.”

Finn let out a breath in Logan's ear as Leo continued to coo at the dog. “You're right,” he whispered. “That's so not fair.”

Logan nodded and kissed his cheek, and they watched as Leo stroked Antoinette’s back gently and closed his eyes against the sun.

***

The week continued as such. They awoke, and the dog was scratching at the door to be let in and snuggle into Leo's chest, the cat not far behind. Logan narrowed his eyes as his coveted pillow spot was taken. They didn't know enough to appreciate the firmness of Leo’s chest underneath their bodies.

Finn had taken to running with Antoinette in the mornings, which made them both tired and happy- Leo and Logan had found them both asleep on their backs and starfished on the bed on multiple occasions in the hot summer afternoons. And, despite stealing their fiancé, both Finn and Logan had to admit that Antoinette was cute, Xavier, too. The cat especially liked when Logan sat at the counter with him to watch Leo cook, scratching behind his ears. It was worth it for the fond smiles Leo sent them both.

The pet names, however, were still an issue.

“Hi, sugar, hi,” Leo said to a jumpy Antoinette. “I know, baby, I know, I'll get your leash.”

Finn and Logan, who were cuddling on the couch, peeked around the archway to watch as Leo got Antoinette's bright blue leash and clipped it to her collar.

“I'm taking the dog out!” Leo called as he opened the door. He blew them a kiss with a smile. “Be back in a bit.”

When the door clicked shut, Finn let out a groan and flopped his head onto Finn's chest. “Fuck,” he said. “Fuck, she's stealing our fiancé from us. They both are.”

Logan kissed his head. “He calls them more pet names than us.”

“I know.” Finn let out another groan into Logan's sweatshirt. “And the worst part is, I can't even be mad because he's so gorgeous and sexy, and the names he does call us sound so gorgeous and sexy, and every time he says them my body just melts. Ugh.”

Logan smiled into Finn's hair. “Oui, he's so gorgeous and sexy.”

“Right?” Finn shifted to turn onto his back, drawing Logan's hands to rest on his stomach and playing with his fingers. “Do you think, if we asked, he'd call us those things, too?”

Logan considered this for a moment. “Ouais, I think so. But I think it'd be- mais, allez, not weird, but…”

Finn nodded. “We've been together for so long that it'd be odd to add new names to call each other.”

“Yeah,” Logan sighed. “Are we being crazy?”

Finn hummed. “A little bit, I think, yeah.”

“I just,” Logan started, then sighed. “Je ne sais pas, I'm not… jealous. I just really like the way he says things.”

“Yeah.” Finn twiddled Logan’s fingers. “We're really lucky. He's so good.”

“Ouais,” Logan whispered. He pressed his nose into Finn's hair and closed his eyes. “You're so good.”

Finn laughed. “And you're sweet.”

There was a meow from beside them and they both looked to find Xavier looking up at them with demanding eyes.

Finn scoffed. “Oh, don't even get me started on you.” After another meow, Finn rolled his eyes and sat up a bit, reaching for the cat. “All right, all right, c'mere.” He rubbed a hand down Xavier's soft back as he settled down on Finn's stomach. Finn sighed. “Maybe they aren't so bad, after all.”

“Non, they aren't,” Logan agreed, reaching around to caress Xavier's ears. “They're not so bad.”

When Leo came in and found them both snuggling the cat, Antoinette quick to hop on the couch with them, he smiled so wide that it heated Logan from his head to his toes.

***

Logan awoke the next morning to find the bed empty and delicious smells wafting in from the kitchen. Logan could hear soft music, too, as he went to the bathroom. He stretched as he brushed his teeth. Finn was probably out for a run, he supposed, but he'd still go to the gym with Logan and Leo in the afternoon.

Logan splashed cool water on his face before going back to the bedroom and reaching for one of Leo's sweatshirts. The house was cold with the air conditioning unit his mother had had installed a few years ago. He yawned as he entered the kitchen to find Leo in boxers and a T-shirt. His back was lean through the fabric, and Logan pressed against him to kiss along his shoulder.

“Morning, sweetheart.”

Logan hummed. “Bon matin. What are you making?”

Leo reached behind to pat his butt lovingly. “Those baked eggs you both like. Just put them in the oven.”

“Merci.” He nudged Leo's hips until he turned around, smiling softly. Logan leaned up to kiss him. “You left me in bed.”

Leo stroked a hand down his cheek with an amused expression. “I'm sorry, honey.” He pressed a lingering kiss to Logan's forehead. “Better?”

Logan nodded and smiled. He wrapped his arms around Leo's neck and fell against him slightly. “Ouais, merci.”

They smiled at each other for a moment before something caught Leo's eye over Logan's shoulder. His eyes brightened. “Oh, hi, sweetheart.”

Logan turned in Leo's arms to find that Xavier had climbed up onto the counter. He felt the coldness on his hips acutely when Leo let go of him to reach around and pick up the cat, who immediately curled into Leo's chest. Logan glared at him.

“Hi, darlin’,” Leo said soothingly. He scratched under Xavier’s chin to make him purr. “Hi, baby, you're so precious.” When he looked up and saw Logan's expression he let out a sigh. He set Xavier down and nudged him towards the living room, then stood and cupped Logan's face. “Okay, what's wrong?”

Logan felt his face heat. He darted his eyes around the room. “Nothing.”

But Leo was already shaking his head. “No. No, something is wrong. You and Finn have been all weird this week.” He ran a hand through Logan's hair. “Tell me, Lo. Please?”

Logan let out a breath through his nose. He forced himself to look into Leo's concerned eyes. “D'accord. It's just… you…”

Leo's eyes were questioning. “I…?”

Logan rolled his eyes at himself. “You call them names.”

“Who?” Leo looked thoroughly confused.

“Antoinette. And Xavier.”

Leo's confused expression turned into an amused smile. “Are you actually jealous of a cat and a dog?”

Logan bit his lip. “Non, you just call them things. Nice things. Things you don't call us.”

Leo stepped closer into his space. “But I call you nice things, too.” A kiss to his forehead. “Like honey.” A kiss to his cheek. “And sweetheart.” A smile pressed to his mouth. “And baby.” At Logan's shiver, Leo nudged their noses together. “Yeah, you like that one.”

Logan couldn't take it anymore. He captured Leo's lips with his own, allowing himself to be kissed deeply for a moment. Leo’s thumbs were soft on his cheeks, and he smelled like home, and was so warm against Logan's body. Logan got a little lost in the moment, and was surprised when Leo pulled back to look at him.

“Seriously,” Leo said. “I can stop calling them names, if you want. Whatever makes you happy, Lo.”

But Logan shook his head. “Non, non, it's not that.” He carded his hand through Leo's curls. “Finn and I- we like the names you call them.”

Leo's smile was amused. “You want me to call you ‘darlin’ and ‘sugar'?”

Logan suddenly felt embarrassed. “Ugh,” he groaned, smushing his face into Leo's chest. “Désolé, soleil. I'm sorry.”

“No, Lo, don't be sorry,” Leo laughed, running a hand up and down Logan's back. “I just thought they were too cheesy when we started dating.”

Logan pulled back to look at him. “What?”

Leo shrugged. “I thought they were too stereotypically southern, I guess, I don't know.” He leaned in mischievously. “And you don't exactly call someone ‘sugar’ in bed. Sweetheart, on the other hand…”

Logan kissed his smile. “Non, ‘sugar’ doesn't sound so good in bed. But out of bed…?”

Leo's eyes were sparkling. “Why would we ever leave bed?”

Logan scoffed. “I'd prefer we didn't. Why are we in the kitchen? We're all alone.”

Leo tucked his face down into Logan's neck with a light laugh. “I'll call you and Fish whatever you both want, okay, baby?” He paused. “Darlin’.”

Logan just hummed happily, squeezing Leo's back harder. They held each other, swaying for a moment to Leo's playlist. Logan almost fell asleep, but then the song changed, and the familiar guitar plucking and soothing voice of John Denver reverberated around the room.

“Hey,” Logan whispered, pressing a kiss to Leo's cheek as he pulled back. “This is our wedding song.”

Leo's smile was soft. “It is.” He reached for Logan’s right hand, running his palm down the length of his arm to lace their fingers together. He settled his hand more firmly into the dip of Logan's lower back. “You wanna practice, sweetheart?”

Logan squeezed his hand. “Ouais.”

It started out practiced, swaying and stepping in time in the kitchen. Leo's hand was good in guiding Logan around. He only let go for a brief moment to put the song on repeat. Eventually, they stopped trying to dance so formally and Logan drew Leo closer to press their foreheads and chests together. This soon, too, grew too spacious, and Logan ended up with his head resting on Leo's collarbone, Leo's nose in his hair.

Logan didn't know how long they spent there, dancing in the soft light coming through the window, but it was long enough for the doorknob to turn and for Finn and Antoinette to come tumbling through and into the entryway. Logan watched as Leo's eyes lit up with fond excitement at the sound of Finn's fumbling. He didn't turn, just snuggled into Leo's chest again.

“There you go, girl, go get some water!” A breath. “Well, what have we here?”

Logan felt Leo press a hand to the back of his hair. “We're practicing for the wedding, sugar.”

Logan felt hand grip his hips by Leo's and a hard kiss was pressed into his neck. “Looks like someone had a talk with our sunshine.”

Logan blindly turned his head for a real kiss. Finn's skin was slightly cool. “Ouais, we did.” He turned back into Leo's chest. “But he won't call us ‘sugar’ in bed.”

“Yeah, that's not attractive,” Finn laughed. His warmth left Logan's back and then his face appeared over Leo's shoulder. He kissed Leo's cheek and cupped Leo's hips. “Can I join?”

Leo tilted their temples together. “Are you sweaty?”

“The dog and I took a little dip before coming back.”

Leo turned to face him with a raised eyebrow. “Does that mean Antoinette is dripping puddles on the carpet?”

Finn winced. “Maybe a little. It's just water!”

Leo sighed and closed his eyes. “What are we gonna do with you, baby?”

“You can keep calling me ‘baby’, that's for sure.”

Leo just hummed and leaned into Finn's head, which was now resting on his shoulder. Finn smiled briefly at Logan before closing his eyes, too. He rubbed one hand over Logan's ribs. “We’re getting married!” Finn whisper-yelled.

Logan and Leo each chuckled, Leo turning his face to kiss by Finn's ear. “Yeah, sweetheart.”

“Yay, yay, yay!”

“Rouge,” Logan said, reaching up to trace under Finn's eyes.

“Yeah?”

“Sh, mon amour, we're dancing.”

“Right,” Finn said softly. “Right, sorry.” He instantly relaxed under their hands, closing his eyes and resting against Leo again. “I love you.”

“We love you, honey,” Leo replied. He kissed Finn's cheek one more time. “Let's dance.”

Logan smiled against the fabric of Leo’s T-shirt, sun-warmed from the light streaming in through the windows. He decided that he didn't care if nobody made it to their wedding, if it was raining, or even if there was a thunderstorm- none of that would stop him from dancing with his husbands. He couldn't wait to feel the coolness of their wedding rings, the soft fabric of their suites, their skin, warm on excitement and adrenaline. Logan had been given the greatest gift he hadn't even thought to look for, and nothing would ever compare to the love he felt every time he touched Finn and Leo’s bodies, or heard their voices, or saw them smile.

And so, content and swaying to the acoustic guitar of Annie’s Song, Logan settled into the warmth of them and closed his eyes.

Leo’s from NOLA so he’s probably so used to extreme heat that he’s chronically freezing cold in the fall/winter 😭

As a northern girl myself, I would never survive in the NOLA heat. To each their own, I guess.

Enjoy our lovernut being a very adorable icicle! All credits to @lumosinlove !!

“Absolutely not.”

“Leo,” Logan laughed. He was holding up a pair of snowshoes with a grin. “Allez.”

“No, no, no way, have you seen the thermometer?” Leo exclaimed. He picked it up from its place on Logan’s parents’ counter. “Negative twelve Celsius. That’s, like, 10 degrees!” He shivered as if to demonstrate. “I will be an icicle.”

“A very cute icicle,” Finn said, straightening from where he was tying his boots up. “C’mon, sunshine, you’ve gotta go snowshoeing at least once while we’re here.” He kissed Leo’s cheek and wrapped him in a hug. “Please, please, please?”

“Allez, Le, look,” Logan added. He pulled out some gear from a box in the mud room. “I’ve got some nice wool mittens and a fleece Buff, and you’ve got your beanie maman knit you.” He walked up to Leo and put a hand on his cheek. “You’ll be fine, mon coeur.”

Leo narrowed his eyes, but huffed. “Fine. Fine, but don’t be surprised if I can’t make you hot cocoa when we get back.”

Finn snorted lightly through his nose in amusement. “The horror.”

Leo turned to him. “You laugh now, but you love my cocoa.”

“Not as much as I love you,” Finn said with a last kiss to his cheek. “C’mon, let’s get you bundled up, butter.”

“Ouais, I’ll even strap you into your snowshoes, soleil, so you don’t have to take off your mittens.”

Leo thought for a second. “Okay,” he conceded. He pulled the fleece gaiter firmly over his head and tucked it into the neck of his jacket. “Okay, let’s go.”

After being sufficiently bundled up by his boyfriends, Leo stepped out onto the snow-covered porch of the Tremblay’s Rimouski home, just outside of the main city, and took a breath of freezing-cold air. This was not how he anticipated to be spending their week off for the All Star break, but Logan had wanted to go home where the snow was high, and Finn and Leo would follow him anywhere- hence, their mid-season reunion headed up north to the freezing cold Canadian winter. It was a wonderland, the snowbanks piled up on the side of the streets and the tree branches weighed down with heavy powder. If only Leo’s parents could see him now. His mother would certainly laugh.

Leo watched as Logan knelt to strap him into the snowshoes he was borrowing from Logan’s father. He looked handsome with his winter coat and his bomber hat, all rugged and outdoorsy. Leo sometimes forgot that this had been Logan’s life before the NHL- it was more distinctly different from Leo's and Finn’s than Leo’s and Finn’s were from each other. It seemed that he never lost the love for the wilderness, either, because the first thing he had suggested they do last night was go for a morning snowshoe the following day, which Finn had readily agreed to. Leo had taken a little more convincing, and was promised lots of cuddles and blankets after their walk in the woods- a promise he certainly was going to make sure they kept.

Now, however, he got to relish the brightness of Logan’s eyes looking up at him as he finished helping Leo. His gloves were hanging around his wrists on their straps to allow his nimble fingers to do the buckles, and his hair flopped out a little over his forehead from underneath his hat. He smiled gently up at Leo and cradled the back of his calf. “All done,” he said softly, pressing a kiss to Leo’s thigh through his snowpants. He stood up and pressed a light peck to Leo’s lips. “Ready, mon amour?”

“Ouais,” Leo replied. He shivered. “I’m already cold.”

“Well, let’s get moving,” Finn said. He kicked his feet out a few times and grinned at Logan. “Damn, Lo, it’s been a while since I wore these. Probably the last time I visited your place during the winter in college.”

Logan grinned back. “Oui. Not so awkward on your feet now, huh, Bambi?”

Finn rolled his eyes but kissed Logan’s forehead. “Ha ha.” He jerked his chin at Leo. “Why don’t you teach him?” His toasty brown eyes caught Leo’s own baby blues, and his toothy grin and freckles were sharp against the dark navy of his hat. “These are no ordinary shoes, sunshine.”

“Non,” Logan agreed. “You’ve gotta pick your feet up a little more and walk slightly outwards, d’accord? So they don’t drag and tear your snowpants.” He demonstrated by stepping off the porch and walking a few steps in the yard. “Like this, oui?”

“Ooooo-ways!” Finn yelled. He followed after Logan, jumping on him briefly with an arm around his shoulders. He kissed his cheek hard, then turned and held his hand out to Leo. “You coming, baby-baby?”

Leo nodded and took the first step towards them through the soft, twinkling snow.

***

“Oh, baby. Oh, baby-baby, you’re shaking.”

“Uh-huh,” Leo said through chattering teeth. He attempted a smile. “It was fun, though.”

Finn made a noise in the back of his throat. “Are you sure?” He tugged Leo’s hat and Buff off, both slightly damp with sweat and snow. “You’re freezing, sweetheart.”

“Ouais,” Logan said. He had stripped himself of his winter clothes the fastest, left in only jogging pants and a thermal T-shirt. “Let’s throw our damp clothes in the dryer, and I’ll make us a fire.”

“Th-thanks,” Leo got out.

Finn tisked his tongue. “Let’s get you in some fresh dry clothes, Le.”

“I-I’m really fine-”

“Nope, nuh-uh.” Finn shook his head. “No frozen boyfriends. You’re not any fun if you’re frozen.”

Leo rolled his eyes playfully but crossed his arms over his body, completely rid of all layers except his pants and thermal shirt as well. “I’m going to go put on a sweatshirt.”

Finn kissed him. “And dry socks. There are some more wool ones I unpacked last night, they’re in the top drawer.”

“Merci,” Leo said, and all but rushed up the stairs to Logan’s bedroom. He found one of Logan’s Rangers sweatshirts on their bed. It was a little big on Logan anyways, and made Leo feel surrounded by the scent of him as he pulled the hood over his head. Leo ducked his nose into the collar and took a big inhale. He’d missed Logan so terribly some nights it was hard to sleep, even with Finn as a warm weight against his back. Now, though, he felt tucked away and safe in the place Logan grew up- even though he was freezing his tail off.

He came back downstairs laden in cozy clothing and two pairs of woolen socks to find Logan in the kitchen bustling around to make tea and Finn putting a few more logs on the fire Logan had made in the Tremblay’s woodstove. Marius and Iva were skiing overnight at a lodge somewhere, so they had the house to themselves, and took full advantage of sprawling across the couches in the living room. Leo nestled into the cushions and smiled as Finn draped a fleece blanket over him, tucking it under Leo’s body.

“There we go,” Finn said. He kissed Leo softly. “A nice Leo burrito.” He sat sideways on Leo’s lap and hugged his shoulders tightly. “How are you feeling, my pretty peanut?”

“Good,” Leo said. Between the sweatshirt, the blanket, and Finn’s fleece-covered shoulder pressing against him, his voice came out muffled. “My face is a little cold, still, and my feet. But I’m okay.”

“Well,” Finn said. “I can do something about that.” He turned his torso slightly and squished Leo’s cheeks, pressing kisses all over his face. His lips were warm and firm, a sharp contrast to Leo’s freezing skin. With a final wet, smacking one to his forehead, Finn leaned back and looked down with a soft grin. “Better?”

Leo nodded. He was smiling so hard his cheeks hurt. “Merci. Where’s Lo?”

“Salut,” Logan said. He came into the room balancing a tray with three cups in one hand and a pair of fuzzy slippers in the other. “Allez, soleil, I brought you something to help with your feet.” He set the tray down and then knelt to the floor to slip the shoes on Leo’s feet. “I figured they would be cold.”

Leo felt his cheeks flush around his smile. Finn laughed and ran a hand through Logan’s hair. “You’re such a sweetheart, huh, ten?”

Logan bit his lip and looked up. He looked happy and content in the soft firelight. “Only sometimes.” He peered around to look at Leo. “You look so cute with your eyes just looking at me like that.”

It was a display of frankness so uncharacteristic of Logan that it made Leo gasp out a giggle, nudging his nose into Finn’s shoulder. “I guess I just got something nice to look at.”

“Ouais, you do,” Logan grinned. He moved to the couch to curl up beside Leo, pushing his warm nose into his neck. He dropped a lingering kiss there. “Thank you for coming snowshoeing with us.”

Leo leaned their heads together and looked up at Finn. “I had fun. Really, I did.” He shivered. “I think I’m just not made for cold weather.”

Logan laughed. “Non. Non, you’re not.” He turned Leo’s face to kiss him gently. “Even though you do look very sweet when you’re all cozy in winter clothes.”

“Yeah,” Finn agreed. He pinched Leo’s nose lightly. “You’re like our own little snugglebug. Soft and squishable and cuddly.”

Leo snorted. “Gee, thanks, Harz.”

“It’s a good thing.” He tucked his face on the other side of Leo’s neck and pressed closer. “I like having a personal snugglebug.” He leaned back to look at Logan and kissed him briefly. “In fact, I got two. Lucky me.”

“Ouais, lucky you.” Logan’s eyes were so fond Leo thought that he would melt into the couch cushions. “Allez, tea time.” He stroked Leo’s belly with a warm hand. “Gotta heat you up from the inside.”

Finn swung his leg over and settled down on Leo’s other side with a final kiss to his cheek. He reached for their tea and handed a cup to each Logan and Leo before taking a sip of his own. His face scrunched in a grimace and he coughed. “Lo. Baby, I love you, so much, but I think this is yours.”

Logan scoffed. “It’s not that bad.”

“I don’t know how you drink that sugar bomb-”

“It’s good-”

“It’s literally pure honey, honey, that is not a perfectly balanced-”

“Oh, mon Dieu, rouge, to me it’s-”

Leo couldn’t help it. Giggles started deep in his belly, warm with the tea, and bubbled upwards until they escaped through his mouth. Logan and Finn stopped abruptly, smiling at him with their mouths open and their foreheads pinched in confusion. Leo looked between the two of them, flushed, and wiggled himself back into the cushions a little bit more.

“Quoi?” Logan asked. He nuzzled into Leo’s neck playfully and nipped at the skin there. “Quoi, what?”

“Nothing,” Leo laughed. “Nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing.” He closed his eyes and tilted his head back. “I’m good. I’m so good.” He sighed. “I’m so, so in love with you.”

He couldn’t see their smiles, but he knew they were there. Just like he knew that they were as happy as he was, that they were as in love as he was. He knew that they were in freefall just like him, floating higher and higher and weightless, up in the clouds and on the beach, watching the rolling, blue seas. Their laughter was the music he swayed to, their eyes the view he pictured when he fell asleep. Their fingers had left marks on his skin, their smiles on his heart. Their lips had caressed every part of him, knew all of him, and Leo was so in love he was vibrating with it. He was shivering, but not because he was cold anymore.

He settled further back into the couch and sighed. One of Finn’s hands was on his thigh, the other’s fingers laced with his own; Logan’s warm palm was under his sweatshirt, rubbing his stomach soothingly, the other up in his hair. He felt everywhere their skin touched acutely, like it was burning him, but not like fire. Or, yes, like fire, but like the fire in front of him: heating him from inside out, igniting this eternal flame inside of him.

Leo opened his eyes to find both of their beautiful faces hovering in front of him. He kissed them each softly and bent all their heads together. “I love you,” he whispered with a smile. “I love you so much. Thank you for taking me snowshoeing."

Katie Dumais was getting too big, Logan thought. At ten years old, she was the spitting image of her dad, down to the practical pranks she played on her siblings. Adele found it amusing- Marc and Louis did not.

Ten was a big age, Logan decided. It was when kids stopped liking to be held, to be picked up, to hang out with their older siblings (blood related or not). Katie had given him and his boys a hard hug each when they arrived to her birthday party, but was now way more occupied with her friends where they were painting each other's nails on a picnic blanket in the Dumais’ backyard. Logan sighed, resting his head back against the Adirondack chair he was sitting on. He felt someone else sit in the chair beside him.

“This is making me feel old.”

Logan smiled at Sirius’ familar French and opened his eyes to look at him. “Ouais. I remember when she was little.”

“I remember when she was a newborn- I'd just moved in.”

Logan let out an amused snort. “Fuck, you must be feeling really old.”

“Allez, I'm not thirty quite yet.”

They laughed at each other for a brief moment. It felt good, to let go with Sirius again. Like it had been no time at all that they were on the same team, spending lots of free time together. They had so many fond memories together in the Dumais’ kitchen: meals shared, laughter, cleaning up the kitchen with Dumo. Logan loved the life he had now, with Finn and Leo, but there were times he wanted to be back there, young and clumsily moving through life. Being with Sirius in this moment felt like a different version of that, Logan supposed.

A presence joined them in the chair on Logan's other side. A cup with a drink in it appeared in front of his face. “For my Lo.”

Logan smiled and kissed Finn's cheek in thanks. “Merci.” He sipped it. “It's good.”

Finn patted his thigh. “Of course it is. I've made rum and coke for you for over a decade, I'm a master.”

“I wish Remus and I were good at mixing drinks,” Sirius said wistfully. “We always end up putting too much alcohol in it.”

Finn laughed around the sip he was taking from Logan's cup. “Well, if that's the goal, you're doing it right then.”

Sirius rolled his eyes. “Ouais, I guess.”

Finn nudged Logan's ear with his nose. “Heads up, some of Katie's friend have tiny siblings and they are all over Leo right now.”

Logan turned into him. Their noses were now brushing. “And what do you think of that?”

“Let's just say that, if I had ovaries, they would be bursting.”

Logan full-body laughed at that, hiding his face in Finn's shoulder. He could feel the smile Finn pressed into his forehead.

“What's so funny?” Remus asked. He and Cole had come to sit on Sirius’ other side.

Finn looked amused. “My ovaries.”

Remus just looked at him. “You don't have ovaries.”

“Well, not physical ones.”

Cole shook his head. “You're so fucking weird, O'Hara.”

Finn just shrugged. He took a sip of Logan's drink again, then suddenly sat up straighter. “Lo, look, look, look.”

Logan picked his head up to follow where Finn's finger was pointing to. Sure enough, Leo was surrounded by about half a dozen little kids, all definitely four or under, and they were playing what looked like a game of keep-away with a tiny soccer ball. A little girl was in the middle, laughing when Leo dangled the ball out in front of her, only to take it back. Eventually, he did let her get it, and went into the middle of the circle. He jogged slowly, exaggeratedly, as the kids passed it around to one another.

“Oh,” Remus said. He snorted lightly. “That's why your ovaries are exploding.”

Finn hummed. “Can you blame me?”

“He has no comment,” Sirius said, which made Remus just laugh.

Logan laced his fingers with Finn's on top of his thigh as they continued to watch. Leo looked happy, smile wide and white, a light sheen of sweat on his face from the hot summer sun. He was tall, too, dwarfing the small children around him. Logan let out a happy sigh. Finn kissed the side of his head. “He's going to be such a cute dad.”

Logan felt his chest warm. “Ouais. Ouais, he is.” He turned to kiss Finn properly on the mouth. “So are you. So sexy.”

Finn laughed a little breathlessly. “Stop that, you're getting me going,” he whispered.

“Maybe I want you to.” Logan leaned in closer with a smile. “Let's go to Dumo's bathroom again.”

Finn's ears were red and his eyes wide. Logan could tell he liked the idea, even if he wouldn't go through with it. “We can't do that, it's Katie's birthday.”

“She doesn't care about us,” Logan scoffed. “We're not cool enough anymore.”

Finn laughed and squeezed his hand. “Well, then, we can't because we're watching Leo play with tiny humans.”

“Oh, that's right.” Logan kissed Finn's cheek once more before turning with a sigh to look at Leo. “He's so tall.”

“Ugh, I know. Just look at his legs, Jesus Christ.”

Indeed, his legs were a sight to behold. They were lean and tan, the quad and hamstring muscles flexing and visible whenever he moved. His waist was slim, and he was tall, so shorts never ran long enough anyways, but Leo also preferred the eight-inch inseam, which left so much bare skin visible. Logan wanted to dig his teeth into the muscles of his inner thighs.

Leo was still in the middle, not quite yet letting himself best the kids. But one of them kicked the ball a little too hard, and it was going to go flying into a food table on the other side of the yard. Leo acted quickly, extending his long- so long, Jesus Christ- leg out to block it with his foot. He fell to the ground, one leg tucked under him and his other completely extended, the entire limb touching the ground. He didn't even flinch.

“Geez,” Remus said. “That's so not fair.”

“How the hell does he do that?” Cole asked. “That's so not fair.”

“Oh, it so is,” Finn said. His cheeks were flushed. “I'm a big fan.”

“Ew,” Sirius said. “Stop being gross.”

Logan scoffed. “Let's tell Loops what you think about his arms.”

Remus looked at Sirius mischievously. “Oh yeah? You like my arms, baby?”

Sirius stuttered. “Mais- allez, but- I don't not like them.”

“Oh my God,” Cole said, hands covering his face. “I should not be privy to these conversations.”

Finn just settled back in his chair, amused, and sighed contentedly. “Oh, look, here he comes.”

Logan turned to find Leo walking up to them. He was smiling, still, and he stopped in front of them with his hands on his hips. “Hi.”

“Hi, baby,” Finn said. He was looking at Leo adoringly. “Having fun?”

“Yeah,” Leo nodded. “Dumo and the other parents said they could watch the kids in the pool, so they went to change into their swimsuits.” When they said nothing, still just looking at him, he furrowed his eyebrows. “What?”

“They're saying inappropriate things about you,” Cole said.

Leo let out a confused laugh. “What?”

“Something about Finn's ovaries,” Sirius grumbled.

Leo blinked. “Excuse me? None of y'all have those.”

Finn leaned forward in his chair to cup the backs of Leo’s knees. “Figuratively, I do. C'mere, Le, sit.”

Leo hesitated, but he allowed himself to be pulled down and into straddling Finn's lap. Logan and Finn immediately put their hands on his thighs. “Why are you saying you have ovaries?”

Finn rolled his eyes. “They're figurative.” He kissed Leo quickly. “And they go crazy when I see you with kids.”

That got Leo to smile. “Yeah?”

Logan nodded. “Mhm, ouais. That and your legs.”

“Oo, yeah,” Finn said, rubbing his hands further up Leo's thighs. “Your flexible, flexible legs.”

Leo tisked and grabbed Finn's hands where they were making their way towards his butt and settled them further down towards his knees. “Stop that, there are children,” he chastised, but he was biting back a smile and blushing.

“Mm,” Finn hummed, leaning in to bite at Leo's jaw. “Sexy, sexy legs.”

“Are you pretending you're not hearing this?” Remus asked.

“Yes,” Cole said. “Oh my God, yes.”

“Rouge,” Logan scolded. “We don't want to make them uncomfortable.”

“Well, then,” Finn said. He let out a grunt and stood, hoisting Leo up underneath his thighs. “We will be taking this party elsewhere. Where’s the pool? Are there tiny children in it yet? We've got a change of clothes in the car.”

Leo was laughing. “Finn, no-”

But Finn was already off walking across the grass. He drew some eyes, a few surprised looks at first, but then Logan watched as people smiled as they watched Leo and Finn laughing, Leo's hands laced in Finn's hair. Logan bit his knuckle around a grin as he watched them go.

“Mon Dieu, that was painful,” Sirius said. “I don't even want to know what you're like behind closed doors.”

Logan raised his eyebrows at him. “Non, you don't.”

Sirius groaned and fell into Remus, who just kissed his head. “Baby, you set yourself up so well every time. You should have learned by now.”

“This is supposed to be a family friendly party,” Cole said. “How does it always turn out like this?”

Sirius glared at Logan. “Because the Cubs are dirty.”

Logan winked at him, which definitely didn't thwart his ideas, and stood to follow the sound of his boyfriends’ laughter.

***

Finn loved Logan and Leo at parties. He loved the way that, when he himself wandered off to socialize, Logan automatically tucked himself into Leo's side, content to just watch as Leo charmed whoever he was speaking to with his wit and his smile and that special goodness that Finn and Logan adored.

Tonight however, on the rooftop of a New York City bar, it seemed that Logan’s social battery had somehow activated itself.

He'd definitely had too much to drink- Finn could tell by the way his face flushed and by the way he every so often gripped Leo's jaw to bring him down into some kisses that would have been way too obscene during the day. But during the night, in the middle of summer, surrounded by other tipsy people- well, Finn, for one, was really enjoying the show.

“You know,” Natalie said from beside him at the bar. “I used to think that Logan was just a shy little grump.” Her eyebrows raised even higher when Logan took Leo's lip between his teeth, Leo shaking his head at him fondly with wide eyes when he pulled away. “But now I know that he’s a loud grump who needs just the right amount of tequila to bring him out of his shell.” She winced when Logan interrupted Leo talking to Alex to bring him down into another deep kiss. “Sheesh, maybe too much out of his shell.”

Finn smiled. “Yeah, those shots were not a good idea. I'm surprised he even did them.”

“I'm regretting buying him them.” Natalie rapped her knuckles on the bar top. “So, Freckle, how's it hangin'? Thanks for coming out with us tonight. Alex really needed to be taken for a walk.”

Finn laughed. “Yeah, we can't be inside for too long. What'd he do?”

Natalie counted off on her fingers. “Claimed he was bored, cleaned the kitchen, claimed he was bored again, cleaned the bathroom, baked brownies, fell asleep on Kasey for a weird twenty minutes, went for a run, claimed he was bored another time, then was tapping his fingers all through dinner when we were watching the Open.” She sighed. “And this was all by 5 p.m.”

“Huh,” Finn hummed. “To be fair to him, sounds like a pretty empty day.”

Natalie just looked at him, then rolled her eyes over to where the bar tender was coming with their drinks. “You boys are both crazy.” She thanked the bar tender, then picked up her tray. “C'mon. Maybe if we give them enough alcohol, they'll be too hung over to do anything tomorrow but sleep.”

Finn snorted, picking up his own tray. “Logan might. But us O'Haras have a fast metabolism.”

“Don't fucking remind me.”

They maneuvered their way around the other people slowly, careful not to spill anything. Finn had ordered Logan a water and Leo a Dark ‘n Stormy. He got himself a Manhatten; this late in the night, he was in a sipping mood. Plus, somebody had to be sober enough to get Logan home.

“Hey, gorgeous,” Alex said with a smile, accepting his drink and a kiss on the cheek from Natalie. “Thank you.” He turned to Finn. His cheeks were flushed and his eyes a little wild- he was definitely past tipsy. “Tremzy here challenged me to an arm wrestle.”

Finn looked to Kasey, who winced with a nod. Leo had his arms wrapped around Logan, keeping his arms contained in an obvious attempt to deter the idea with cuddling. By Logan’s excited, drunken grin, it was not exactly working.

“Al,” Finn said, eyeing his brother. “Are you sure? Logan doesn't really know his own strength when he’s-”

Alex waved him off with a determined look. “I've got this.” He took a sip of his drink and cracked his knuckles, leaning forward in Kasey’s hold, who had a hand on each of Alex’s hips from behind. Alex propped his elbow up on the table. “Let’s see what you got, Lolo.”

Logan scoffed. “That's not my name.”

Alex rolled his eyes. “C’mon.”

Leo looked at Finn with raised eyebrows. Finn sighed and took a step closer, cupping Logan’s face in his hands. “Please be careful with him. He's my older brother, and he's an ass, but I do love him.”

“Hey!”

Logan just giggled in the way he only did when he was intoxicated and leaned up to kiss Finn sloppily. “Ouais, I won't break him.”

Finn kissed his forehead. “Okay. Okay, show ‘em what you got, Tremblay.”

Logan and Finn switched places, Finn leaning back into Leo's chest and Logan taking a seat opposite Alex.

“What did you get him?” Leo whispered.

“Water,” Finn said. He brought Leo's hand up to his mouth and kissed it. “I really don't want to deal with a mega hungover Logan tomorrow.”

Leo snorted quietly. “He acts like the world's ending. Le, I want soup, please. Fish, I need a massage, allez.”

Finn grinned. “I promise I'll give you lots of nice kisses if you service me.”

They snickered quietly together, Leo hiding his face in Finn's shoulder. Alex and Logan, whose hands were clasped, looked at them. “Quoi?” Logan asked. “What's so funny?”

Finn patted the top of his head. “Nothing, baby, carry on.” He smiled at the laugh Leo let out against his neck.

Logan narrowed his eyes at them, then turned back to Alex, who was focused intently. “Kase, count off,” Alex slurred.

Kasey sighed from where he was sitting behind Alex, Natalie standing next to him and running her hands through his hair. “Okay,” he said exasperatedly. “Three, two, one, go!”

“Shit,” Leo said breathlessly in Finn's ear after a moment. “Maybe this was a good idea after all.”

Indeed, Finn was inclined to agree. Logan's sharp jaw was clenched in concentration, his slightly sweaty hair curling out and fanning over his ears. Finn followed a line down from his devastating green eyes to his shoulder and back, defined in the maroon shirt he was wearing, all the way down to his arm. His bicep was bulging in a way that was not helpful in a public setting, and the veins in his forearms showed distinctly through his skin. Finn bit his lip as his face flushed. Leo must have been feeling the same way, because he pressed lingering, open-mouthed kisses to the back of Finn's neck.

“Oh, baby,” Leo said hotly, quietly. “Look at those biceps.”

Finn nodded absentmindedly, gripping hard onto where Leo's forearms were wrapped around his waist. Leo had just flattened his palms, running a hand lower on Finn's abs down to the waistline of his shorts, when Alex let out a grunt as his arm fell limp on the table.

“Allez!” Logan yelled, slapping the table with his hand.

Alex let out a defeated groan, covering his face with his hands as he fell heavily back onto Kasey's chest, Natalie carding a hand through his hair. “Fuck, that's not fair.”

“It's okay, hon,” Kasey reassured him with a kiss to his cheek. “You'll get him next time.”

Alex just groaned again.

Logan, however, stood up and moved right into Finn and Leo's space, grin a little victorious, definitely drunk, and very much in love. “Did you see?”

Leo laughed. “Yeah, honey, we saw. You beat him good.”

Logan hummed, reaching up to tug on Finn's hair. “Did you like what you saw?”

Finn guided Logan's hands down then rubbed possessively at his biceps. “Definitely. I'd like to record it next time, please, zoomed in on your arms. For alone-time material.”

Leo smacked his hip. “Since when have you ever done that alone since you started dating us?”

Finn bit back a smile and turned to kiss Leo's jaw. “You're so right, I've even got two of you.” He nosed under Leo's chin. “We can use it as material when we have alone time together while he's in New York.”

Leo sucked in a breath. Finn knew he'd got him. “That's a good point.”

Logan reached up again to grab at Finn's hand and draw his attention. “Allez, what material will I be getting, all alone in New York?”

Finn kissed him. “Anything you want, baby.”

That made Logan's eyes light up. “Ouais, then, I want a video of your hands on Leo's thighs.”

Finn nodded. “Oo, good choice. We can do that.” He reached around to pat the back of Leo’s thighs. “I love getting my hands on these sexy legs.”

Based on Logan's smile, Leo had rolled his eyes. “This is not appropriate for public consumption.”

“It sure as hell isn’t,” Finn said. He winked at Logan. “Our eyes only.”

Logan hummed happily. “Ouais, our eyes only.” He fell forward a little bit, distractedly running his hands through Finn’s hair. “I'm tired.”

Finn tilted his jaw down to bite at Logan's bicep. The muscle was firm under his teeth. “Let's finish these drinks, then we go home.”

Logan kissed him briefly. “What did you get me?”

“Water.”

Logan scoffed, letting his hands fall to his side and maneuvering to bully Finn out of the way so he could snuggle into Leo's chest. “You're no fun.”

Leo kissed his forehead appeasingly. “We are trying to avoid the hangover of the century tomorrow.”

Logan just sighed heavily.

After forcing Logan through the entire glass of water and sipping on their own drinks, Leo and Finn coaxed Logan into letting them guide him out of the bar. They waved goodbye to Natalie, Kasey, and Alex, the latter of whom was almost asleep and being half-carried by Kasey to stand up so they could leave themselves. Finn smacked his brother on the back, eliciting a huff, before tightening his other arm around Logan’s waist to help him down the stairs. Leo went in front of them, walking backwards and holding out his hands to support Logan as he wobbled.

“My Lord, honey, you are really drunk, aren't you?”

“Non,” Logan protested. “I'm not.”

“Okay, let me just let go of your hands then.”

Logan gripped Leo’s wrists tighter, his arms flexing. “Non, non, peanut, non.”

Leo just smiled fondly and bent to kiss Logan’s biceps. “C’mon, muscle man, let's go to bed.”

Finn laughed, and they helped Logan slowly down the stairs. When they got to the bottom, the lights of the noise and the city surrounding them, Finn couldn't help but push them both against the dark corner of a building, Logan stumbling a bit.

“Merde, Fish, I'm gonna fall.”

“Nuh uh,” Finn said. He pressed his hands to Logan’s hips and kissed his mouth hard. “Not while I've got you. You and your sexy arms.”

Logan laughed, resting his head against the brick. He gazed at Leo, then at Finn, a sleepy smile on his face. “I love you.”

Leo smiled back and bent to kiss him. “Love you, sweetheart.” He tugged at Logan’s hand, blue eyes playfully meeting Logan’s own. Finn was so in love with them. “Alright, it's not too far to walk. Let's get you and your sexy biceps back home.”

***

Leo hummed quietly to himself as he puttered around the kitchen, placing the lid on the pot so the taco meat could simmer. He checked on the potatoes in the oven. They still weren't near done, but they definitely weren't as raw as they had been earlier. He sighed, glancing around. The guacamole was ready, and so was the crema and the pico de gallo. He covered the bowls with the beeswax wrap Regulus had got him for his birthday and placed them in the fridge to stay cool while the rest of the dinner cooked.

He stretched, his back popping just as there was the scratching of keys in the lock. Logan walked through a few seconds later and smiled when he saw Leo. “Salut, soleil,” he said, toeing his sneakers off and sliding over to give Leo a kiss.

“Hi, sweetheart.” Leo wrapped him in a hug. “How's Sirius?”

“Good,” Logan sighed into Leo's neck. “Happy to not be an All Star again.”

Leo hummed happily into Logan's hair. “So are you. You get to come home.”

Logan made a content noise. “Where's rouge?”

“Reading in bed,” Leo said. He pulled back to hold onto Logan's hips with a smile. “He was tired after pickup yesterday and our long run this morning.”

Logan stepped on Leo's toes with a bashful smile. “And we had a late night.”

Leo nuzzled their noses. “That we did.” He tugged Logan's hand. “C'mon, let's go say hi.”

Leo held tightly to Logan's hand all the way to their bedroom. The door was opened just slightly, and there was just a reading light on. There wasn't any noise.

“Is he asleep?” Logan whispered, standing on his toes to peer over Leo’s shoulder.

Leo nodded. “I think so. We have to be so quiet.”

Logan hid his laugh in Leo's sweater-covered bicep. They stepped through as quietly as they could. Leo peered around the doorway and smiled. He felt Logan squeeze his hand.

Finn was uncharacteristically starfished on the bed, mouth open and sleeping soundly. He had a special talent for falling asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, but even this was extreme- he normally slept on his side. Now he was flat on his back with his arms over his head. The cuffs at the bottom of his sweatpants had ridden up, as well as his gray Harvard sweatshirt, exposing the trail of red hair at the bottom of his stomach. He'd kicked one of his fuzzy socks half off his foot.

Leo could feel Logan still giggling into his arm. “Très étrange.”

“Ouais,” Leo whispered. He squeezed Logan's hand and let go, approaching the bed. He and Logan laid down on either side, hovering over to just look at him. Leo touched his cheek lightly. “He has so many freckles, even in winter.”

Logan smiled down at Finn fondly. “Oui.” He pressed a silent kiss to Finn's cheek. “I think he has more now than he did in college.”

Leo turned to catch Logan's eye. “Yeah?”

Logan nodded. “Ouais.” He gazed back down at Finn, smile still on his face. Leo loved how Logan looked at him. “I don't think I could count them all now.”

Leo got his knees under him. “Let's try.”

They counted, Leo pointing to each one and Logan saying the number in soft French with a hand stroking Finn's hair back. They grinned at one another every now and then, giggling, Logan giving Leo a kiss to keep him quiet.

They'd gotten to freckle one hundred and seventy when Finn let out a little noise, making Leo laugh. Logan had hushed him, leaning across for a soft kiss. It was with their lips pressed together that they felt Finn's chest expand with a deep breath. “Whoa.”

Leo smiled against Logan's mouth and pulled away. Finn was staring at them with parted lips. Leo stroked his cheekbone. “Hi, sweetheart.”

Finn smiled lazily and stretched. “Don't stop on my account.”

Logan huffed out a breathless laugh and leaned down to kiss Finn on the mouth. “Salut, rouge.”

“Mm,” Finn said, reaching a hand up to rub up and down Logan's ribs. “Hi, baby. Good day?”

“Ouais,” Logan said softly. He settled himself on his stomach with his chin on Finn's chest. “Good nap?”

Finn nodded and let out a puff of air through his lips. “Yeah. Yikes, I was tired.”

Leo's laugh made them both look at him. “You were conked out, honey. I think that's the hardest I've ever seen you sleep.”

Finn's smile widened. “Enjoy the view?”

Leo shifted to hover over him more. Finn's eyes followed the line of his body. “Definitely.” He looked at Finn's eyes in the warm lamp light and softened. “Your eyes look so pretty.”

“You think?”

Logan shifted to look down at Finn's face, too. He grinned. “Oui, they do. Like they're- comment dit-on?” He looked at Leo with questioning eyes. “Fondre?”

Leo leaned over and kissed his cheek. “To melt. They look like they're melting.”

“Ouais, melting.”

Finn was looking at them both fondly. Leo swore that if Finn's eyes weren't actually melting, they'd make Leo melt. Now, they twinkled a bit, too. “I love the way you talk to each other.”

Logan hid his face sheepishly in Finn's neck. Finn rubbed up and down his ribs and looked up at Leo with a satisfied smile. Leo smiled back and leaned down to kiss him. “Rise and shine, sweetheart. Dinner's almost ready.”

Finn just wrapped his other arm around Leo's back and dragged him down to his chest next to Logan. “Five minutes.” He turned to look at Leo with a pout. “Please?”

How could Leo say no to those eyes? To the gorgeous, star-like freckles that lined the skin around them?

“Okay. Five minutes.” He settled in against Finn's shoulder and reached his other hand out to scratch Logan's scalp, Logan humming contentedly. “But only five minutes. I worked hard on those taco bowls, and they will be spectacular.”

Finn laughed softly into Leo's hair. “I bet they will be. Your food always is.” He kissed Leo's curls. “Love you.”

“Love you,” Leo whispered. He pressed a kissed to Finn's shoulder and closed his eyes. “I love you.”

your writing is getting me through finals week 🙏🥹! That last fic was actually so cute I think it would be funny to see a boy who leo had “been with” in the past who maybe ended up at gryff university or something coming to one of the games with a sign and leo getting all flustered 😭. I’m a firm believer that leo had more situationships than just jack 🤮

This ended up being a very cute ask, so thank you! I am also a firm believer in showing how beautiful queer love can be in middle school/high school (like in Heartstopper). So meet someone who treated our Leo well, before Jack (ew) came into the picture and broke our sunshine's heart. But it's okay now- he's got two boyfriends who love him very, very much. <3

Keep the asks coming! All credits to @lumosinlove !!

“No way,” James laughed, mouthguard hanging out of his mouth and water bottle poised for a sip. “No fucking way! Nutty, you dog.”

Leo looked up from where he was in a butterfly stretch. “Huh? What do you mean?”

Sirius laughed at James’ waggling eyebrows. He jerked his chin to the glass. “You got an admirer there, nut.”

“Who?” Leo asked, confused expression on his face. “Is it Finn making faces again? Because I told him it distracts- oh.”

Across the ice a few rows up from the glass was a boy that looked like he was about Leo’s age with tan skin and dark, curly hair. He was in a Lions jersey, Leo’s own, and was holding a white sign above his forehead and smiling. Hi from NOLA! it said. We love #1! His friend beside him was laughing in his own Lions jersey.

Leo laughed and stood. He gestured to Layla, who was on the bench. “Layla, may you please pass me a puck and a sharpie?”

She nodded at him and bustled around for a puck and silver pen, handing them to him with a smile. “Do you know them?”

“Yeah, I went to school with one of them back home. I think he’s at Gryffindor University now, I saw it on his Instagram.” He wrote his signature with a smiley face and handed her back the pen. “Thanks, Layla. Be right back.”

She patted his head. “Off you go, nutter butter.”

James whistled at him while he skated away and Leo saw Finn lift his head up from where he had also been doing his warm-up stretches. Leo rolled his eyes playfully and made his way over to the glass. He smiled up and waved for the two boys to come down, and they hustled down the steps and stopped right in front of Leo.

“Enrique,” Leo greeted. “Long time no see. How are you?”

“‘Sup, Le,” Enrique answered.

He looked the same as he had when they were in middle and high school, a little gangly with bright white teeth and a sharp jawline. Leo remembered meeting him for the first time in 5th grade and being confused as to why his face flushed so hard. Flashbacks of tentative hand-holding and first kisses on an overnight school trip ran fondy through his mind. He remembered being young and unsure, and Enrique always being so gentle and kind.

Enrique seemed to be thinking the same thing, because he looked at Leo with a wide smile. “How’s the big show?”

“It’s good,” Leo said. He fiddled with the puck in his hand. “You studying at Gryff?”

“Yup! Math with a minor in anthropology.” He wrapped an arm around the boy beside him and noogied him in the head. “It’s how I met this history buff- we had a couple freshman classes together.” He lowered his arm to wrap gently around the boy’s waist and smiled up at him. “This is my boyfriend, Shan.”

Leo could feel his nose scrunching up with his smile. “Nice to meet you.”

“You, too,” Shan replied, a bit shyly. “It’s really cool to see you out here.”

Leo nodded. “Yeah, it feels good to be out here.” He tossed the puck up and down a few times in his fingers. “Hey, step back a little bit and put your hands up.”

Enrique did as told and deftly caught the puck that Leo tossed over the glass. Shan leaned over to look at it and read it as well, and they both looked up and smiled at him.

Suddenly, Leo felt a presence skate up to his side and watched both of their eyes widen. Leo bit his lip and turned to find Finn next to him. “Harz. This is Enrique and Shan.”

“Hello, lover,” Finn said, eyes twinkling. He looked over at the two boys. “Saw one of your friends had my jersey.” He smiled through the glass. “Hey, catch!”

Shan caught his own puck with a laugh. “Thanks, Harzy!”

Finn saluted. “No problem.” He wrapped an arm around Leo’s waist and squeezed gently. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to take my Leo here back to his goal so I can practice scoring on him.”

Leo nudged him gently. “Alright, alright.” He tapped a hand up to the glass. “It was good to see you, Enrique. You, too, Shan. Enjoy the game!”

“You, too!”

“Good luck!”

“Gentlemen,” Finn said, then tugged Leo to face him as the two boys went back to their seats. “Did you know them?”

Leo nodded. “Yeah, I went to school with Enrique.” He grinned down at Finn. “He was my first kiss on a middle school outdoor excursion trip.”

Finn froze for a second then broke out into a smile, his tongue sticking out a little. “Oh? And who kisses better?”

Leo snorted and tapped his helmet to Finn’s. “It was a first kiss, sweetheart. Nothing to write home about. And the boy he was with today is his boyfriend, they both go to college here.”

“Aw, that’s sweet.” Finn gave Leo a tap on the butt with his stick then snatched a puck. “Go get in goal, sunshine, I’ll shoot on you,” he said. As he skated towards the blue line, he turned around to look at Leo again. “Then we’ll go to home and FaceTime Lo while I kiss you stupid!”

Leo flushed at the chirps that got from their teammates, but smiled and narrowed his eyes as he turned to face Finn in his net.

Later, after they had a post-victory pasta dinner in their apartment, Leo was warm and flushed, pressed against the mattress by Finn’s body. Finn had called Logan with single-minded zeal, told him the story of warm-ups, and then had proceeded to kiss Leo into oblivion, Logan watching them eagerly from the iPad. Finn’s hands were all over Leo’s body and his lips somehow insistent and gentle. Leo felt like he was drowning and breathing clearly at the same time, caught in the whirlwind that was Finn’s focused attention. After what felt like hours, Finn pulled away, lips wet and red and hair a mess from Leo’s hands.

“So,” he began with a mischievous grin. “Who kisses better?”

Leo shook his head in amusement. “I told you, he was my first kiss. He’s probably way better at it now, and anyways, it’s not a competition.”

“Ouais, yes it is,” Logan said. He had his head resting on his hands and his green eyes were roaming up and down their bodies. “It’s always a competition. Allez, Le. Who’s better?”

“Guys, we were thirteen-”

“Leo.”

“I’m just saying, I’d feel weird comparing-”

But Finn interrupted him with a frustrated huff and bent to press his lips all over Leo’s neck and face. Leo laughed and wrapped his arms and legs around Finn’s body, head tilted up against the pillows and pliant. When Finn pulled away his face was serious but his eyes were twinkling. “You know there’s only one right answer, butter.”

Leo sighed and leaned up to kiss him. “You,” he said. He turned to smile at Logan, sated and content. “You, you, and you.”

SO ADORABLE I ❤️ SOULMATE O KNUTZY🥹🥹 any chance for a part two?? i get so attached to the characters in each au i would love more if you’re open to it <333

You all have me starting a THIRD Word document (it's okay, I love it, I love all your beautiful brains and their beautiful ideas!)! That's crazy, and I can't thank you enough for all the support you give me every single time I post.

This was also a fun little drabble to write- would definitely consider writing more stuff in this AU if you so wanted. Although, I gotta say, I still think the first part will always be my favorite. They kinda just wrote themselves, to be honest.

ENJOOOOOOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leo shifted under the warmth of the blankets, stretching his legs as he drifted into consciousness. He felt a weight on his shoulder and smiled as Logan let out a sigh in his sleep. Leo scratched a hand through his hair, then brought it down to rest on the sun, the fleur-de-lis, and the fish on his hip. Logan’s skin, Leo had discovered, was always so soft and warm. He radiated heat like a furnace, and Leo and Finn had taken to reaching for him unconsciously in their sleep. He normally slept in the middle, a spot he had claimed three weeks ago their first night in bed together, but the night previous Leo had been particularly cold. Logan had rolled over Leo’s body with a groan and his pushed nose under Leo’s chin.

“Ici, soleil,” he had whispered. “We’ll keep you warm.”

And they did just that. The whole night, Leo slept blissfully with Finn up against his back and Logan tucked into him, safe and sound and happy, so happy. Leo didn’t think he’d ever felt happier.

A movement from beside him made him look over to his left. Finn was awake. He was on his side, facing Leo, with his hand tucked under his head. He blinked sleepily, his brown eyes reflecting the light, before he smiled. “Hi, sunshine.”

Leo smiled right back. “Hi.”

Finn let out a happy sound. When he spoke next, he sounded almost giddy. “Hi, hi, hi, good morning, baby.” He shifted to prop himself up on an elbow and hovered over Leo, reaching out a hand to cup Leo’s face. His sun, fleur-de-lis, and fish were visible on his stretched-out torso, so stark and beautiful against his pale skin. “You’re so gorgeous.”

Leo grinned into the kiss Finn gave him. It still didn’t feel real, kissing Finn and Logan. It had been a long time since Leo had kissed someone, been held by someone, made love to someone- although, if he was being honest, his previous relationship hadn’t been that loving at all. And coming to the NHL had left no room for dating or hookups, not that Leo would have wanted to, anyway. His heart had jolted the moment Finn first smiled at him and when Logan had first looked at him with those gorgeous green eyes of his.

Finn had moved one hand to cup Leo’s waist, sending goosebumps up his stomach and chest. Leo arched into the feeling with a soft sound and used his free hand to run his fingers through Finn’s hair. It was thick and silky, just as Leo had always imagined it to be, and Finn loved it when they tugged on it. Leo did so, gently, and Finn made a happy sound against his mouth before pulling away with a grin. He brushed their lips together. “I love you.”

Leo dug his heels into the back of Finn’s thighs and wrapped his free arm around Finn’s trim waist, rubbing a hand up and down his soul mark. “Love you.”

Finn’s eyes darted across Leo’s face for a moment. “I like your hair like this.”

Leo laughed softly. “You’ve said that every day since I got it cut.”

“Well, yeah.” Finn dipped his head just beside Logan’s to kiss behind Leo’s right ear, where the hair was now shorter. “Now everyone gets to see that you’re mine.”

“Finn,” Leo sighed. He laced his hand through Finn’s hair again. “Kiss me.”

Finn didn’t even argue. He just dragged his lips across Leo’s jaw and cheek until he reached his mouth, tongue brushing Leo’s lips languidly. Leo loved how Finn kissed, focused and completely giving himself over. He loved to watch Finn kiss Logan, too. Logan was so responsive and melted under their touch always, but Finn had a way of directing him, of directing them both, without missing a beat.

Leo lost track of time with how lovingly Finn was kissing him. Finn’s hands were all over his body: his chest, his hips, his jaw. Leo pressed into wherever they roamed, content to just give himself over completely. He slipped away a little, too caught up in the heady feeling, before he was brought back to reality when a pair of lips pressed over the marks behind his ear.

“Mm,” Leo mumbled against Finn’s mouth. “Lo.”

Finn pulled away with a last kiss, then immediately leaned over Leo’s body to kiss Logan. “‘Sup, baby?”

Leo felt the shaking movement of Logan’s body which meant he was laughing. “Salut, rouge.”

Finn left a few more exaggerated kisses on Logan’s face and neck before pulling back and hovering once more over Leo. He pushed Leo’s hair back from his face. “Sleep okay, sunshine?”

Leo nodded. “Mhm. Nice and warm.” He felt fingers brush along his stomach and finally turned to face Logan with a soft smile. “‘Morning, sweetheart.”

Logan’s sleepy green eyes filled his vision. “Soleil,” he sighed, leaning in to kiss Leo, a bit sloppy and luxurious. “Bon matin.”

Leo let out a satisfied breath and let his head fall back against the pillows once more. Logan had bullied his way onto Leo’s chest, forcing Finn to drop onto the mattress once more on Leo’s other side. Finn narrowed his eyes. “You’re hogging my sunshine.”

“Notre soleil.”

“You’re still hogging him!”

Logan just let out a huff, rolling his body even further on top of Leo’s, lying chest to chest with his nose in Leo’s neck. Leo let out a soft laugh. “You have no shame.”

“Non.” Logan kicked Finn in the shin. “Ici, rouge.”

Finn scoffed but complied. He threw his leg over both Leo and Logan’s bodies, one arm coming to rest on Logan’s back. “How is this, my liege?”

“C’est bien.” Logan lifted his head up a bit to look at Leo. He smiled with a happy noise and traced his thumb under Leo’s eye. “Tu es si beau, mon chou.”

Leo tilted his head to kiss Logan’s palm. He bit his lip mischievously, glancing at Finn briefly. “Look who’s talkin’.”

Logan laughed and Finn groaned at Leo’s poor attempt at his accent. “I do not sound like that.”

“No, you don’t, I’m sorry, honey,” Leo agreed, opening his free arm so Finn could rest his head on his shoulder. He shifted his head just enough to place a lingering kiss on Finn’s temple. “Better?”

“Much.”

Leo smiled and tucked his nose into Finn’s hair. He loved the weight of them in bed with him, a luxury he, at one point, thought would have to wait until he retired. But now there was this: Logan, practically moved into the apartment at this point, taking up a disproportionately large amount of space on his chest; Finn, always the one to be brave and smiling, letting his walls down and letting himself be held; a feeling, so warm and heady and lovely that Leo wanted to cup it gently in his hands and never let it go. He was ruined in the best way, weighted and safe under the sheets with his lovers.

Logan, it seemed, had begun to gain some more consciousness. He started wriggling around in the way he did when he was trying to get comfortable, moving their limbs around to hold him how he liked. He was demanding, there was no doubt about that, but Leo wouldn’t have traded him for anything in the world. Leo looked down fondly at him as he slipped his thigh between Leo’s own and moved Finn’s hand down to massage his lower back. He let out a satisfied sound as Finn’s fingers began to dig into the sore muscle. “Ouais.”

Finn let out a snort and kissed his cheek. “So bossy.”

Logan just smiled softly. He reached up to play with the edges of Leo’s hair. “I like your curls like this, mon soleil.”

Leo laughed. “Fish just said that, too.”

“Well it’s true,” Finn said. He pressed his nose into the side of Leo’s head and nuzzled his curls exaggeratedly. “You look like our very own Disney prince or something.”

Leo turned to look him in the eye. “And what does that make you and Lo?”

“Well, I’m your bard. Or your jester. Or both, you choose. And Lo here,” he said, moving his arm up to squeeze around Logan’s upper back. “He’s your knight.” He made a little growling sound and bit at Logan’s shoulder. “Imagine these muscles in armor, holy moly.”

Logan’s nose scrunched around his smile. He watched his own hand play with Leo’s hair. “I just think you’re beautiful.”

Leo tried to bite his lip against the blush, but it was no use. He leaned into the thumbs Logan brushed over his heated cheeks. “I love you.” He kissed Logan briefly, then settled back again onto the pillows. He looked between Finn and Logan, whose eyes were both watching him intently. “I think I want to keep my hair like this for a while.”

Logan and Finn smiled widely down at him. It made Leo’s breath catch and he could feel every place their warm skin touched his like they were trying to be melded together. When he’d cut his hair like he’d always wanted to- a bit shorter on the sides, still curly at the top- over a week ago, he’d been more than a little nervous. It meant that his mark would be revealed to the world, and anyone who saw would potentially wonder about its oddity, about why there were three shapes. Logan and Finn didn’t have to worry about that as much- theirs were covered by their clothes most of the day. And after they’d left them uncovered in the locker room, it didn’t take too long before there were careful questions and then excited congratulations from their teammates. But Leo’s was out in the open. It wasn’t necessarily an obvious place, but it was still visible with shorter hair.

Finn and Logan had let him talk it out with them for hours over takeout, the both of them snuggled in Leo’s sweatshirts from high school. It had made his heart jolt when he saw them for the first time in his clothes. It was as if it was a fever dream, and the feeling in Leo’s chest when he came into the living room to see them both, snuggled in his hoodies on the couch, smiling at each other, smiling at him- it was warm and weighty. And Leo felt, in that moment, that he was gone on them forever. So, when they asked him if he wanted to get his haircut, despite the hesitation, he didn’t really have to decide at all. Being with them, loving them, was liberating, and made all of the potentially hard things feel worth it. And it had certainly been worth it to see their grins and feel their lips on his skin when he’d come home from running errands with his curls cut and styled how he’d always dreamed.

Now, he felt Logan’s fingers caressing the skin behind his ear lovingly. Both Logan and Finn were mindless touchers. Sometimes, Leo didn’t even think they realized they were doing it. After not having to hide in the locker room anymore, Leo found there was frequently a hand on his back, fingers brushing his, a gentle scratch on his scalp. Finn was even a good multitasker, and always had a hand on them whenever he was talking, to them or anyone else, and he was in close proximity to at least one of them. Even now, in the peaceful silence that had fallen over their bedroom, Leo felt Finn’s fingers tracing the slant of his jaw, placing soundless kisses after he finished before starting up again near Leo’s ear. Leo let out a sigh and closed his eyes again briefly, content to just rest to the sound of their breathing and the feeling of their bodies.

“I really love you,” Leo whispered. “I really, really love you. I love your smiles, and your skin, and the weight of you in bed with me.”

“Oh, baby,” Finn said. He sounded a little choked up and giddy at the same time. “We really love you, too.”

“Ouais, mon soleil.” Logan settled himself back down onto Leo’s chest and let out a sigh. “Mm, c’est chaud ici.”

“Geez,” Finn said abruptly after a brief silence. He lifted himself on his forearm to look down at them and smiled as he caught Leo’s eye. “Geez, I’m so in love with you. You’re everything I’ve ever wanted.”

“Well,” Leo said sarcastically. “That’s high praise.”

Finn stuck out his tongue and poked Leo’s cheek playfully. “Stop trying to be silly when I’m trying to be romantic.”

“Honey, you walk the line between silly and romantic all the time!”

“Yes, but when I want to! And right now it’s just romance time.”

Leo rolled his eyes playfully. He cupped the back of Finn’s head and guided it to his shoulder once more. He felt Finn’s teeth scrape against the skin and tugged his thick red waves. “Hey, biting isn’t romantic.”

“It is when I bite. Or when Logan bites.”

Logan, who had been a dead weight against Leo’s chest, responded by lightly dipping his chin down and biting beside Leo’s nipple. “Mm, you’re sweet, soleil.”

Leo let out a snort. “You’re so weird. I love you.”

“Je t’aime.”

“Love you, love you, love you.” Finn accentuated his statement by pressing bursts of wet kisses to their cheeks, then licked Leo’s jaw. “Hm, you are sweet.”

“Oh my God.” Leo began to move in an attempt to sit up. “I’m getting new boyfriends.”

“No, no, baby come back,” Finn pleaded. Logan just let his weight go even further; Finn began to kiss Leo’s neck. “No, baby, I’m sorry, I love you, I love you, come back.”

Leo began to lay back down and looked at Finn’s puppy eyes with raised eyebrows. “Do you not want breakfast?”

Logan reached up to tug Leo’s hair. “Want you for breakfast.”

That made Leo warm all over, and he ran a palm up Logan’s back. “Fine, fine, I acquiesce.”

“Oo, fancy words,” Finn said. He wiggled his eyebrows. “You know how much intelligence turns me on.”

“I do,” Leo whispered. He cupped Finn’s cheek and watched as his eyes turned soft and fond. He didn’t have to say anything- he knew Finn knew how lucky they all were. Finn kissed his palm, and Logan kissed his chest, and Leo let out a deep sigh. He was so in love he was dizzy with it. The feeling felt too big for his chest. “I do. And I love you. I love you both more than anything.”

I swear someone asked for a fic about the first time the Cubs saw each other cry, BUT I THINK I DELETED IT I AM SO SO SO SORRY!! :(((( However, I still wrote it, so whoever it was, here is my gift to you. Giving you a big virtual hug!!

There are some canon times we do see them cry, so I took some liberty with this. So these are SOME of the first moments we see them cry with one another, as I have imagined them.

Side note, it was REALLY hard to come up with something that would make Finn really upset. I feel like, for him to cry, something needs to really rock his boat (like Logan getting traded), sooooo... I made him sick. Sorry, Harzy, I guess. He is not very good at being sick.

Mid-April 2019

The bar was a bit loud, Logan thought, even for a Friday night. There was a rowdy group of people on the other side of the room, and the bass of whatever was on the jukebox was pounding in his skull, making his jaw tingle. It was a rare Friday night out, their last one before the playoffs, and Logan was committed to enjoying himself. He took a sip of his rum and coke, eyeing Leo where he was talking with Thomas and Remus over at a high top. His blonde curls were stuck with sweat to his forehead, his cheeks flushed in the same way they did on the ice, in the gym- in bed, Logan now knew.

Living with him and Finn was like living a dream every day of his life. While they couldn't be together in public quite yet, they could be together at home, in the apartment they shared that smelled like the three of them, with Leo's pristine kitchen and Finn's overflowing bookshelf. He scanned their corner, looking for a familiar shade of red, when he felt an arm come across his shoulders.

“Hey, you,” Finn said. His gesture was platonic, but he said everything Logan needed to know with his eyes. The corners of which, Logan noticed, were a bit strained. “How we doing?”

Logan nodded, brow furrowed. “Good. Rouge, you okay?”

Finn bit the inside of his cheek, gripping Logan's shoulder harder. “Yeah, feeling- feeling a bit dizzy, though.”

Logan turned, grabbing Finn's biceps to get a good look at him. “Merde, rouge, you're pale.”

Finn winked, but it wasn't convincing. “You already knew that, Lo.”

Logan made a noise in his throat. “Non, you're really pale.” He pressed his palm to Finn's forehead. “And hot, fuck. You have a fever.”

“No, I'm fine, I-”

“Non, Fish, we've gotta go home.” He turned to face away briefly. “Leo!”

Leo turned abruptly, his bright smile falling as he saw Logan's expression. He excused himself, then came over hurriedly. “What's wrong?”

Logan stepped aside to allow him to look at Finn. “Rouge has a fever.”

Leo immediately put his own palm to Finn's forehead, wincing as their skin connected. “Shit, Harz, you're burning. Does your stomach hurt?””

Finn rolled his eyes. “Only a little-”

“What'd you have to drink? Did you eat anything funny?”

Finn huffed. “I had one beer, and lunch at the rink and you cooked me dinner. I swear, I'm fine!”

Leo raised his eyebrows. “Spring flu is going around. Kuny was out with it last week, remember? We should go home.”

“But it's our last night out before the playoffs, and-”

“Ah,” Leo said, in a very good impression of his mother. “I don't want to hear it.” He took Finn under his arm and steered him towards the door. “Let's go. Time to go home.”

They called out their goodbyes over their shoulders, Remus narrowing his eyes, concerned. “All good?”

Logan shrugged. “Rouge doesn't feel so good. We're taking him home.”

“Let me and Coach know, okay Tremz? Trainer's orders.”

Logan smiled. “Ouais, promise.” He clapped Remus on the back. “Night, Loops.”

“Drive safe.”

They walked out to the car, Leo reaching into Finn’s front pocket to get the keys. Finn huffed out a sigh but dutifully sat himself in the backseat, head lolling to lean against the cool window. Logan furrowed his eyebrows at Leo from the passenger side, but Leo just shrugged. So he had no idea then, either.

They rode in silence, letting Finn rest his eyes, Leo with his hand on Logan's thigh and drumming with his fingers. Logan took his hand and played with the digits, eyes flashing to Finn in the side view mirror. His gray T-shirt was a little damp with sweat around the neckline and he looked uncomfortable. Logan frowned as Leo turned into their parking garage, the change in tempo rousing Finn from his sleep. He blinked, then winced, placing a hand on his stomach. Something was wrong.

As soon as Leo had the car in park, Logan hopped out to open Finn's door and give him a hand. Finn, despite being in obvious pain, attempted a smirk. “Chivalry is not dead after all.”

Logan just raised his eyebrows. Finn sighed, but took Logan's hand.

“When did you start feeling sick, honey?” Leo asked as they made their way to the elevator.

Finn's hand gripped Logan's hard. “I don't know, this afternoon? I felt a little dehydrated at practice this morning, I guess, but that was all before we took our nap after lunch.”

Leo bit the inside of his cheek as the door opened. “Come here. Let's go get a thermometer.”

Inside their apartment, Logan settled Finn on the couch and went to get him some water while Leo went to their bathroom. When he came back with a glass, Finn had slumped back into the cushions, breathing a little ragged. Leo put a hand on his forehead and coaxed him into opening his mouth, slipping the metal probe under his tongue. When it beeped, Leo squinted at the little screen and his eyes widened. “Shit, Fish.”

“Quoi?” Logan asked worriedly.

Leo turned the thermometer so he could see. “A hundred and two. Geez, Finn, that's high.”

Logan gripped Leo's forearm. “Hospital?”

Leo shook his head, placing a cooling hand on Finn's temple. “Not unless it lasts a few days, or gets to a hundred and three.” He kissed the skin just beside Finn's eye. “How you feeling, sweetheart?”

Finn groaned. “Sick. Feel really sick.” He curled around himself a bit. “Tummy hurts.”

“Okay,” Leo said. “I'll get you some ginger ale, some ibuprofen, and a pillow and blanket. Lo, can you take him to shower? I think he should sleep out here.”

Logan nodded, lifting Finn from under his arms. Finn whined out, but Logan gently shushed him as he guided him to their bathroom. He helped them both brush their teeth, then Finn shivered as Logan undressed him, his skin covered in goosebumps and a little sensitive.

“Rouge, hot or cold?”

“Hot,” Finn said. His brown eyes were a bit glassy. “Please.”

Logan got the shower up to temperature and helped Finn under the spray, immediately going to wash his sweaty hair and body. He wanted him in dry clothes and under blankets as soon as possible, and Finn didn't look like he could stand up much longer.

“Mon rouge,” Logan whispered, kissing his cheek. “What's wrong?”

Finn fell forward with his head on Logan's shoulder. “I feel so shit.”

Logan kissed his neck repeatedly, carding his fingers through his thick waves. “Why didn't you tell us?”

“Don't know,” Finn said, pressing harder into Logan's hold. “Didn't want to stop you from going out.”

Logan backed them out of the shower and wrapped Finn in a towel. “Non, you could never disappoint us.” He stood on his toes and kissed Finn's forehead firmly. “I would rather stay here with you than go out. Le, too.” Finn just nodded, obviously too tired to argue. Logan wrapped him up tighter in the towel and tugged him to their bedroom. He dressed them in boxers only before going back to the living room. “Le?”

“Here,” Leo said. He smiled gently, opening his arms for Finn to fall into. “Hi, sweetheart. Got you some ginger ale, okay? I'm going to go have a shower, then I'll sit here with you.”

Finn made an affirmative noise, and Logan watched as he let himself be tucked under the blankets Leo had put out, propped against a few spare pillows from their closet. Leo handed him a cup with a straw and kissed his forehead before turning to Logan.

“Ça va?” Logan asked as Leo cupped his jaw.

“Ouais,” Leo whispered. “I'll stay out with him for a while, okay, honey? You should get some sleep.”

Logan pinched his eyebrows together. “Non, je-”

Leo interrupted him with a kiss and a soft smile. “No, it's better if one of us sleeps. He'll need space to let the fever run its course, too, so we can't snuggle him on the couch anyways.” Leo shrugged. “Besides, it's not like I will sleep a lot regardless.” At Logan's noise of dissent, Leo laughed breathily and shushed him, pulling Logan closer. “One problem at a time, sweetheart.” He kissed Logan again and wrapped him in a hug. “Go say goodnight and go to bed, please. I love you.”

“Je t'aime.”

With a last peck, Leo walked to their bathroom. Logan sighed, watching his back for a brief moment before turning back to Finn, who was blinking up at him with big eyes. Logan knelt by his head, and brushed his hair out of his face. “Salut, mon rouge.”

“Mm,” Finn sighed. He closed his eyes and breathed heavily. “Love you.”

“I love you, I love you, I love you.”

Finn sighed again and then his breathing evened out. Logan kissed his temple in a lingering press of his lips before quietly standing and walking towards their bedroom. With a last look at Finn and at the bathroom door, he crawled into bed, big and lonely without either of his boys, and laid down to try and sleep.

***

“Okay, it's okay, honey. Let's go to the bathroom.”

Logan jerked awake at the sound of Leo's voice through their open bedroom doorway. He heard a thump, then two sets of footsteps, and a groan from Finn down the hallway. Logan sprung out of bed, jogging quickly to watch just in time as Finn threw up in the toilet.

“There you go, baby,” Leo said, rubbing a hand up and down Finn's sweaty back.

Finn reached up with a tired hand to flush the liquid away, head bent over the seat. He let out a groan and wilted a bit, Leo scooting behind him to support his weight with an arm around Finn's stomach. He was sweating profusely and shaking, face paler than it had been.

“Fuck,” Finn said.

“Oh, mon coeur.” Logan knelt beside them. “Feel better?”

Finn shook his head. “Uh uh.”

Logan tisked. “Want water?”

That made Finn gulp. “No. Gonna be sick again.”

“Shit,” Leo said. He reached another hand around to brush Finn's hair out of his eyes. “Don't try and force it down, honey, that'll make worse.”

And with that, Finn bent his head over the toilet once more as his stomach convulsed. “Ugh.”

Logan pressed the lever on the toilet this time, allowing Finn to sink back into Leo again.

“Okay?” Leo asked.

“No.” Finn's breath hitched. “Le.”

“Sh, sh, I know.” Leo adjusted them, bracketing Finn with his legs and allowing him to sit curled against his chest. He pressed a hard kiss to the side of Finn's head. “I know, it hurts. I think your fever is breaking at the same time. But it's okay, baby, we got you.”

Finn let out a noise and Logan realized he was crying. Logan reached out to rub his arm. “Rouge.”

“I'm sorry,” Finn said wetly. He peeked out at Logan with one teary eye. “I'm sorry, it just really hurts.”

“Sh, sh,” Leo said again. He brushed Finn's cheeks with his thumbs. “Don't be sorry, Fish. It sucks to be sick.”

“It's not just that,” Finn sniffled, tears now flowing freely down his freckles. “It-it's that I've been feeling like shit for hours, and my head hurts, and my stomach hurts, and we have the playoffs soon, and I ruined our night out-”

“Whoa,” Logan interrupted. He took one of Finn's hands and kissed it. “Mon amour, I told you that you didn't ruin anything.”

Leo turned to look at Finn, too. “You're worried about ruining our night out?”

Finn's bottom lip was poking out and quivering as he nodded. “Yeah.”

Leo let out an oh and wrapped him tighter in his arms. Finn clung to his biceps. “Oh, honey, no, you didn't ruin anything.” He tucked his nose into Finn's hair. “And in terms of the playoffs, we still have a few days. That means you can rest, it's probably just a stomach bug. You'll be good as new in no time, sweetheart.”

“Ouais, rouge,” Logan agreed. He leaned forward and kissed his cheek. “We just want you better.”

Finn groaned again. “I feel so sick.” He looked up at Leo. “I'm sorry, peanut, this is not-” His breath hitched with another round of tears. “This is not very sexy.”

Leo laughed, which just made Finn cry harder into his shoulder. He kissed Finn's head. “Oh, sweetheart, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I laughed, it's not funny.”

“No it's not.”

Leo wrapped him up fully. “It's not very sexy, no. But I love you.”

Finn let out a strangled noise, then abruptly turn his wet face around and threw up another time into the basin. He moaned. “I just want to be better.”

Leo supported him still with a hand low on his stomach and Logan rubbed his back. “I know, mon chou,” Logan said.

“It still hurts, why does it still hurt?” Finn cried, before vomiting once more.

“Geez,” Leo said. “You think that's all?”

“Ugh,” Finn groaned. He flushed a final time, then fell back, letting out an oof and a sniffle. “I think so. I still feel really sick.”

Logan clucked his tongue and pressed his hand to Finn's forehead. “Still warm, rouge.”

“Why don't you brush your teeth, honey,” Leo said, rubbing his hands up and down Finn's heaving ribs. “I'll get you some ginger ale again.”

Finn wiped his eyes. “Yeah, okay. Thank you.”

Leo kissed his cheek, then lifted Finn under his arms to help him stand. Logan took his weight, then Leo was gone back to the kitchen, and the two of them were stood in front of the mirror. Logan rested his lips to Finn’s shoulder and played with his fingers while Finn brushed his teeth. He had a bit more color, but was still sweaty and shaky.

“Are you cold, mon amour?” Logan asked once Finn was done rinsing his mouth.

Finn touched their foreheads together. “I don't know. Now I am, but on the couch I was hot.”

“It's the fever,” Leo said as he appeared in the doorway. “I think it's still breaking.” He winced. “Not ideal when you're also throwing up.”

Finn took the ginger ale. “Thank you, peanut.”

“You're welcome, sweetheart.”

“Allez,” Logan said. “Let's go sit.” He kissed Finn's wet cheek, then Leo's. “We can sleep.”

Leo pursed his lips. “But we can't-”

Logan kissed him on the mouth. “I'll hold you in the chair so you can sleep, mon coeur. Then Finn has his own space, but we can be there.”

Leo traced a finger down his cheek, then kissed his nose. “Okay.” He turned to Finn. “Sound good?”

To their surprise, Finn grin and winked. “Got my own nursing staff.”

Logan rolled his eyes. “Merde. Only you say dirty things while sick.”

Finn huffed out a chuckle, but wobbled a bit, spilling some ginger ale. “Whoops.”

Leo sighed, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. “Come on, sweetheart. Bed time.”

Logan let Leo tuck Finn in while he went to get more pillows and blankets. After they each gave Finn a kiss on the forehead, Logan sat in their leather chair and reclined it, pulling the lever for the foot rest. He fluffed a pillow behind him and opened his arm with a look to Leo. “Ici, soleil.”

Leo climbed in gingerly, careful not to put too much weight on the footrest, then settled onto Logan's chest with a sigh. His feet hung off the end, but he didn't seem to care. Logan tugged the blanket over both of them. “Ça va?”

Leo nodded into his chest and kissed his collarbone. “You sure you'll be able to sleep like this?”

“Of course,” Logan said. He squeezed Leo to him. “With you, always.”

“Mm.” Leo shifted slightly, burrowing his nose into Logan's neck and peeking out at Finn's sleeping form. “Hope he's okay.”

“I'm sure he will be, soleil.” Logan kissed his forehead softly. “Je t'aime.”

“Love you,” Leo said. He yawned, making his face look like that of a puppy, and Logan pinched his button nose as it scrunched up. “Hey.”

Logan nuzzled their noses together and kissed his lips lightly. “Love you, love you, love you.” He sighed. “Bonne nuit, mon amour.”

Leo let out a breath, and between one moment and the next, they were both asleep.

Mid-March 2019

Logan’s hands shook slightly as he held his cell phone, his mother’s contact staring up at him. It was a picture of the two of them in Nice during the summer when Logan had been about seven. He was wet and sandy, his hair short and spiky like he'd liked at that age. He and his maman were both facing the camera, his skinny arms reaching up to wrap around her neck. He'd always loved physical affection, and was a frequent snuggler with all his family members, but with his mother especially when he was younger. They were both laughing in the photo. The fading sunset reflected against his mother’s dark hair and made her skin golden. Logan thumbed over her face- he had her eyes.

“Fuck,” he whispered, dropping his cell phone on Leo and Finn’s apartment floor. “Merde.”

“Lo?” came Leo's voice from the bedroom. He stepped out, curls damp from their post-run shower and in shorts and Finn's sweatshirt. “You okay?”

Logan just looked at him. Leo made a soft noise, coming over to the couch and tucking Logan under his arm. Logan pulled the Saints sweatshirt sleeves over his hands and snuggled into Leo's side.

“What's wrong?” Leo asked in French.

“I can't do it.”

“What can't you do?”

“Call my parents.”

Leo looked down at him, brow furrowed. “What?”

Logan sighed. “I want to tell them. About us.”

Leo pulled him closer, dipping his nose into Logan's hair. “You don't have to do anything you don't want, d'accord? I haven't said anything to my mama and dad yet, either. That's for after you move in.”

“Je sais,” Logan whispered. “I just- I can't keep it in anymore.” He carded his hands through Leo's hair. “My sisters know, and Finn's family knows, and I can't keep it in any longer.” He pulled Leo down for a kiss. “I want to tell them about you.”

Leo's eyes widened slightly. “Me?”

Logan nodded firmly. “Ouais. They won't be surprised by Finn.” He kissed Leo again. “I want to tell them about you, too. You're so amazing, mon coeur.”

Leo smiled against his mouth. “I like it when you say things like that.”

“Quoi?”

“When you tell us, directly, what you want from us, what you like about us.”

Logan smiled back. “I do like you.”

“I sure hope so.” Leo kissed him once more. “I'm sure it'll be okay, Lo. Your mother already loves me.”

Logan snorted. “All mothers love you.”

Leo shrugged. “It's my disposition.” He nuzzled their noses. “But I know it's scary.”

Reality came crashing back in. Logan bit his lip, staring down at his phone on the hardwood. “It's just…” He looked back up to Leo. “What if they don't love me anymore?”

Leo looked alarmed. “What?”

Tears pressed at the edge of his vision. “They didn't ask for this. And it- it will make their life harder, and I don't want that.”

Leo pulled back to sit up straight, and Logan felt cold. “Their life harder? Sweetheart, it's about you. It's about us, and I- what matters is Finn loves you, and I-”

Logan's heart jolted. They hadn't said that to each other yet.

Leo shook his head. “I'm here for you. I want you, Lo. That's what matters. Are you- are you sure you want to do this?”

Logan sucked in an alarmed breath, meeting Leo's eyes. “Mon coeur, I want you more than anything. And I'm- I'm not ashamed, I'm just…” His voice felt weak. He blinked and tears fell.“I'm scared.”

Leo deflated. “Oh, honey.” He wrapped Logan up close, and Logan let out a sob into his chest. “Sh, sh, it's okay. It's okay, sweetheart, it's- Finn!”

“Yeah?”

“Can you come here, please?”

Finn also appeared from the bedroom, grinning and freshly showered like Logan and Leo and in Logan's high school hockey sweatshirt and boxers. “What's-” His face fell. “Shit.” He hurried over to kneel in front of them and cupped Logan's calves. “Baby, what happened?”

Logan tried to answer, but his voice caught, and he turned to bury his face into Leo's forearm.

That made Finn more alarmed, eyes wide. “Logan, Lo, baby, what's going on?” He looked to Leo. “Peanut?”

Leo's voice was tight as he spoke. “He- he tried to call his maman. To tell his parents about… well…”

“Us?”

“Yeah.”

Finn ran his hands up and down Logan's thighs. Logan peeked out through his eyelashes, expecting some sort of panic or frustration, but all he caught a glimpse of was Finn's soft gaze before he pressed a kiss to Logan's forehead. “Oh, baby. I'm so sorry.” He brushed Logan's hair out of is eyes. “Are you nervous?”

“Ouais,” Logan said hoarsely. He leaned into the touch of Finn's hands. “Ouais, I'm nervous.”

Finn hauled himself up to Logan's other side, an arm thrown over Logan’s torso, gripping Leo's where they criss-crossed. “How about we stay with you when you call them, baby? We're right here.”

“He's right,” Leo agreed. He kissed Logan's head. “We’re always right here, sweetheart.”

Finn dipped to whisper in his ear. “Love you.”

Logan kissed his cheek, then Leo's, and bent to pick up his phone. He unlocked it, still on his mother's contact. Leo gave him an encouraging smile, Finn a small squeeze, and he took a deep breath. His mother picked up on the second ring.

“Salut, mon ange! Ça va?”

“Ouais, maman,” he sighed. “Ça va.” He took a look at Finn. He'd probably be itching to know what they were saying, but Logan needed to speak French if he was going to get through this conversation. He'd tell him after. “I have something to tell you. Is dad there?”

He could imagine his mother's eyebrows, dark and full, furrowed in worry. “Is everything okay?”

“Ouais, it's good news. I hope it's good news.”

“Give me a moment, sweetheart. Marius!” A beat of silence. “It's Logan!” There was some rustling, then her voice sounded far away. “You're on speaker phone.”

“Salut, Lolo,” his dad said. “All good?”

Logan took a deep breath. He reached up to take Leo's hand that was pressed over his heart and squeezed. “I have- I have something to tell you.”

“What is it?” His father's voice sounded worried.

He looked to Finn, who thumbed his damp cheek. “I-I'm seeing someone.” He turned to Leo, who was watching him with soft blue eyes. “Someones.”

“Quoi?” his mother asked. “What do you mean-”

“It’s Finn and Leo. Both. Both of them.”

He heard two sharp inhales, then a soft noise from his dad. “Oh, Logan…”

“Ouais,” Logan said. He was crying again. “I-I'm so sorry, I-”

“Now what would you have to be sorry for?” Iva said. She laughed, and it was teary. “You've been in love with Finn since the first day you met him. And Leo… well, he's so good to you, I adore him.”

Despite it all, that made Logan laugh. “That's what he said.”

He could imagine her smile. “It's true. He's an angel.”

“Ouais, he is.” He bounced his leg nervously. “Papa?”

“Sorry,” his dad said gruffly. “I'm just- I'm so proud of you, mon fil.” His voice made Logan cry all over again. “We love you so much.”

“I love you,” Logan replied.

“Do you love them?”

His father's question made Logan jerk his head up. First, he found Finn's eyes, loving and caring, almost jewel-like. Then he turned to Leo. He and Finn had a plan to tell him they loved him, and while it hadn't been said out loud, Logan already felt it deep within his bones. He may have fallen in love with Finn O'Hara years ago, in a shit-hole Harvard frat house, but he fell in love with Leo Knut the first time Leo had ordered them both sundaes and tea on the road, when they had talked about missing home and Logan, missing Finn like an ache even if he was right in front of him, had for the first time in a while felt a sense of peace, of home, in Leo’s blue eyes. They knew him wholly, completely, without so much as uttering a word, and Logan never felt more seen than when he was in Leo's arms.

“Ouais,” he said to his parents. “I do.”

“Are you happy?”

“Ouais. I'm so happy.”

“Then that's all we could ever ask for,” his father replied.

“Thank you for telling us, sweetheart.”

“Ouais, maman. Thank you for listening.” He took a shaky breath. “And- the team knows, and the girls know, but we're… we're not ready for it to be public yet.”

He could imagine his mother shaking her head gently. “Whenever you're ready, Lolo. We'll be right here for you.”

“We love you,” his father said. “Bonne nuit, mon ange.”

“Bonne nuit.”

Logan ended the call, staring at his phone for a second before bursting into tears.

“Sh, sh, honey, it's okay,” Leo hushed. He cradled Logan to his chest. “It's going to all be okay.”

“Non, non,” Logan said. He sat up, wiping his eyes. “They're okay. They're okay with it.”

Finn's wide grin filled his vision. “That's so great, baby.” He cupped Logan's cheek and kissed him hard. “What'd you tell them?”

Logan sniffled. “That, um. That we are together and that- that the world doesn't know yet, but the team does, and that-” He looked into Finn's eyes. His own welled up again, and he blinked a few tears down his cheeks. “That I'm happy.” He turned and kissed Leo. “We're happy.”

Leo smiled against his lips. “The happiest.”

Logan flopped back against him and opened his arms for Finn to give him a hug. “Can I stay here tonight?”

Finn kissed his cheek. “Of course you can. You're moving in in a few weeks.”

Logan groaned. “But that's so far away.”

“It's the best time for it, sweetheart,” Leo said, pulling Logan slightly into his lap. “We've got two days off after the regular season ends.” He made a raspberry noise against Logan's neck, making Logan giggle. “Plus, we need to give the Dumais kids some time to process.”

Finn whistled lowly under his breath. “Yikes, yeah. We're gonna be public enemy number one after stealing their Frenchie from them.”

Logan hit the back of his head lightly, then pulled him in for a kiss. “Don't talk about my children that way.”

Leo snorted. “They're not yours.”

“Katie is.”

“Well, fine, fine,” Leo sighed. He gave Logan's temple one last kiss before moving to stand. “I'm starving after that run. How about some burritos? I've got some meat, and I can make spicy rice and pico and guac.”

Logan smiled as he shifted over to let Leo out. “Merci, soleil.”

Leo kissed them each on the lips briefly before sauntering into the kitchen, whistling. Logan watched Finn’s eyes follow him. When he turned back to Logan, he smiled widely. “Hi, baby-baby. Feel better?”

Logan nodded, but he remained serious. He brought their faces closer. “I love you.” He played with Finn's hair briefly. “The day I move in I want to tell Leo we love him,” he whispered.

Finn's smile grew so big it scrunched his nose and the corners of his eyes. “Yeah?”

Logan smiled, too. “Ouais.”

Finn wiggled excitedly. “Yay. Yay, yay, yay!” he whisper-shouted. “We can get that cake he likes from down the road, and we can light candles, and I'll put on that jazz record-”

Logan kissed him, unable to direct his eagerness anywhere else. He was flushed with just the thought. “Ouais, yes, yes, yes.”

Finn just laughed and leaned into kiss Logan once more.

End of March, 2019 (this takes place after Ch. 17 of SW)

Lorgan sat down on one of the kitchen barstools heavily with a sigh. He loved team dinners, he loved the Dumais, but he did like coming home to his own space. Or, not his own space but his-and-Finn's-and-Leo's space. An adult space. A home, one that they were making together.

It had been only a few days since moving in, a few days since telling Leo he loved him (We, he could hear Finn's voice say. We told him we love him.), and already he couldn't imagine existing in the same space as anyone else. It was bliss, it was home, it was love and pleasure so heady that Logan almost couldn't contain his joy and neediness. In fact, that seemed like a pretty good idea. Finn was in the shower; Leo was texting his parents, but maybe Logan could drag him away with a few kisses and join Finn underneath the spray, all steamy and glistening, and-

Logan sucked in a breath, already hot at the thought, and went to their bedroom.

He put on a smile, biting his lip in a way he hoped was sexy enough for Leo to want to kiss him (not that it was hard), and leaned against the bedroom door. Leo was sat on the mattress, all tall and nicely dressed from dinner, and looking intently at his phone.

Logan wanted to kiss him so badly. “Le?”

“Hm?” When Leo looked up, his eyes were wet and his face flushed.

Logan stiffened and pushed off the wall. “Merde,” he said. He went to stand in between Leo’s legs and cupped his round face. “Peanut, what's wrong?”

Leo blinked, pulling back to wipe at his face. “Sorry. Sorry, sweetheart, I'm okay.”

“Non,” Logan protested gently. Leo watched him as he walked around to the other side of the bed and crawled over to settle against the pillows by Leo's left side. He sat up, stretched out his arm, and tugged Leo until he fell against his chest. “Mon soleil, can you tell me?”

Leo swung his legs onto the bed to lie down fully, bringing a hand up to hold Logan's bicep. “I watched Sirius’ interview. From the game.”

“Okay,” Logan whispered into his hair. He kissed Leo's temple, letting him collect his thoughts.

“What he said,” Leo continued. “About- about loving the game and finding someone who allowed him to love the game and love outside of the game. About Remus, it- I don't know, it just made me sad.”

Logan made a noise of dissent and squeezed Leo harder. “Why would it make you sad, mon coeur?”

Leo’s breath was shaky. “Because it- because so many people reacted so horribly, and now all he does is answer questions about it. I'm- I'm so proud of them, and so grateful that there are openly gay people in hockey, but it-” Leo's voice turned high pitched, and Logan felt as his body hitched with a sob.

“Mon soleil,” Logan whispered, hugging Leo tightly. “Sh, c'est bien, I've got you.”

“Nobody should have to do that,” Leo cried softly. “I don't want to do that.”

Logan felt his heart break and his body stiffen. He knew Leo wasn't shy about his identity, not in the way Logan was. They were still figuring this dynamic out, the three of them, and had agreed to wait a while, but Logan couldn't help but wonder if Leo would have chosen to have done something differently if he hadn't gotten together with the two of them. If he would have already come out, however subtly.

Finn chose that moment to walk through the door, a towel hanging from his hips. He entered with his usual swagger, but stopped upon seeing Logan and Leo. “Shit,” he said. “Give me two seconds.”

He threw the towel on the floor and rummaged quickly for a pair of boxers, then came to lie beside them on the bed. “What's happening? Leo, what's wrong?”

Leo sniffled, leaning into Finn's hand that was smoothing back his hair. “I watched Sirius’ interview. After the game.” A few more tears fell down his cheek and Finn wiped them away. “I don't like watching him have to defend himself and Remus, or- or just answer questions about it.” He ducked down into Logan's chest. “He's good at hockey. People seem to forget that now, sometimes.”

Finn glanced at Logan with knowing eyes, then looked back down to Leo. “Do you- do you think about that, sweetheart? Having to answer questions about it?”

Leo nodded, his eyes welling up again. “Mmhm.” He snuggled closer in Logan's arms. “I'm not ashamed of who I am. I just wish that it wasn't a given that I'll have to  talk to reporters about it. To defend it.” His lips wobbled a bit. “I'm good at hockey.”

Finn bent his head to press kisses to Leo's cheeks. “You're so good, nutter butter,” he whispered. “And you're so beautiful, and gentle, and kind.” Every descriptor seemed to make Leo cry harder, but Finn just kissed the tears away. “You're so much more than just your sexuality, baby. And you're everything to us. Right, Lo?”

Logan nodded hurriedly, kissing Leo's head repeatedly. “Ouais, mon soleil. We meant it when we said we loved you. You're everything.”

Finn made a noise in agreement. “We love you so much. We talk about it all the time.”

“You do?” Leo asked, almost timid.

Finn kissed him slowly. “Of course we do. And we will only come out whenever we are all ready. And we will do it in such a way that we avoid as much questioning as possible.” He had a fierce glint in his eye. “I will defend you both if I have to, but I will not let anyone tell me loving you is wrong.” He looked between them both. “It is the most right thing that I've ever felt.”

Leo nodded against Logan's chest and Logan held him tighter. It wasn't often that he was the one holding one of his boys like this, and he loved the weight of Leo's body on top of his. He vowed to do it more often.

“I love you,” Leo whispered tearily “I love you so much.”

“Love you,” Logan said, kissing Leo's temple in bursts. “Love you, love you, love you. Now, soleil-” He sat up slightly, jostling Leo a little bit. “-I was going to come in here and ask to go give rouge a sexy surprise in the shower-”

Finn's eyebrows shot up.

Logan rolled his eyes playfully. “-but I think it's best we go to bed.” He tilted Leo's face to the side to kiss him lightly. “Let's take a shower. I want to wash the day off of me, then we can cuddle.”

Leo bit his lip around a small smile. His eyes were still a bit wet, but the tears made his baby blues crystal clear. “I could be persuaded into a sexy surprise.”

Logan felt heat stir in his belly. “Ouais?”

Leo nodded. “Ouais. It makes me all hot when you tell me you love me.” He made to sit up, then turned to Finn and winked. “We'll be right back, sweetheart.”

“Fuck that,’ Finn blurted out. He shot up and scurried around the bed, grasping Leo by the hips and kissing him as he nudged him out through the doorway. “I'm joining.”

Leo laughed in between the wet kisses Finn was pressing to his mouth. “You just- hm, Finn- you just showered, honey.”

“I literally said I don't care. I'll shower after, if you want, too. Just no sexy showering without me.” Finn held out a hand to Logan. “Chop chop, Tremblay, sexy shower time.”

Logan shook his head fondly and flushed, allowing himself to be pulled off the bed, pulled out of their bedroom, pulled out of his clothes, pulled into the steamy shower, and pulled off the edge, in free-fall and forever- forever- in love. This, he thought as his boyfriends’ bodies blanketed his own, their laughs in his ear and their mouths against his skin, was what a home should feel like.

“Sweetheart!” Leo called from their bedroom, holding a towel around his hips. “I’m just gonna get changed, then when Lo’s back we can all go.”

“Wait!”

There was the thunderous thudding of footsteps then Finn was sliding through their bedroom door on his socks, slipping a bit on the hardwood. Leo blinked hard and held out a hand to catch him. “Whoa.”

“Sorry.” He skipped around and jumped dramatically onto the bed, sitting straight-backed on the edge with his hands folded, a goofy smile on his face. “Okay, ready.”

Leo laughed, confused. “What?”

“I said, I’m ready. For you to get changed.”

“Oh, you’re ready, are you?” Leo teased. He dropped his towel and turned around to dig through their underwear drawer. When he got no response, he turned his head to look at Finn again over his shoulder. “Honey?”

“Hm?” Finn’s eyes were very obviously not focused on Leo’s face. “Sorry, what?”

Leo smiled, pulling on a pair of boxers- and ignoring Finn’s sad whine- before going to stand in between his thighs. He cupped his face gently. “I love you.”

Finn’s eyes were the warmest brown, and his smile made Leo feel light. “I love you, too.” He wrapped his arms tightly around Leo’s waist and pressed his face into his chest with a squeeze. “You’re so beautiful.”

Leo made a happy sound and scratched a hand through Finn’s hair. He placed a kiss on the top of his head. “So are you.” He gasped at Finn’s playful bite to the skin right beside his nipple. “Ouch.”

“Mm,” Finn hummed, eyes playful. “I could just eat you up. Can I, please?”

“No time.”

“You sure? We could-”

But he was interrupted by the sound of keys scratching at the door, then the clink of them plopping into a bowl.

“Salut, I’m home!” Logan called.

Finn gasped. “Wait!” He stood and kissed Leo quickly. “Stay right here, don’t move a muscle. I don’t wanna see another piece of clothing on you.”

“Okay?”

“‘Be right back!” Finn sing-songed, then he was sliding back out the door. Leo heard him talking to Logan in the living room. “Hey, baby, you need to change?”

“Ouais, I need to put on something nicer, I-”

“Great! Let’s go.”

A laugh. “Rouge-”

Then Finn was slipping once more through the doorway, Logan in tow and stumbling behind him. They were both laughing. Logan’s posture relaxed when he saw Leo, smile going soft. “Salut.”

“Hi.”

“Oh-kay!” Finn once again jumped dramatically onto the bed, this time sat up against the pillows with his feet crossed. He waved his hand with a flourish, rings catching the light for a moment, and dipped his head. “You may proceed.”

Logan laughed, confused. “Quoi?”

“I said, you may proceed. With the changing of clothes.” He folded his hands in his lap. “I am but a mere spectator.”

Logan looked to Leo, but Leo just shrugged. “I was just told to not put a shirt on.”

Logan laughed. “Well,” he said, looking Leo up and down. “I support that.”

Leo rolled his eyes playfully. “Shut up.”

“Non, non.” Logan stepped into his space. He took his hand and kissed his wedding band and engagement ring, then looked up with content green eyes. “I didn’t get a kiss yet.”

Leo smiled against his mouth and kissed him softly. “Hi.”

“Hi.”

“Hi.” Finn was now twiddling his thumbs. “May we please continue with the undressing?”

Logan tisked. “I thought we were changing.”

“Ugh,” Finn groaned. “Stupid dinner party.”

Logan shook his head fondly, reaching behind himself to pull his shirt off. “The kids are excited, though, they spent the whole day at Sirius’ just talking about the lamb Celeste is cooking.”

“The Dumais are not kids anymore, honey,” Leo pointed out, now searching for his nice pants.

“Yes they are, Knutty,” Logan protested, unbuttoning his shorts. “They’re still kids.”

“Kids in high school. And college.”

“Non.”

A low whistle sounded from the bed, interrupting their movements. “Goddamn. This view never gets old.”

Leo and Logan both turned to look at Finn, who was biting his lip around a grin, warm eyes roving all over their bodies. He looked kind of like a kid on Christmas, Leo thought as he made to step into his pants.

“Wait,” Finn said suddenly. “Wait, not yet.”

Leo clucked his tongue. “Finn, we’ve gotta get dressed. And plus, you’ve seen us naked a thousand times, it’s not like it’s anything new.”

“Actually,” Finn responded, holding a singular finger up. “I see you naked about three times a day, roughly, so that’s way more than a thousand times in a single year. And we’ve been together for, what, how many years? So it’s probably closer to ten thousand by now.” He shifted to the edge of the bed and stood, coming to take the pants from Leo’s hands and put them on the dresser. “But that’s not the point.” He wrapped his arms gently around Leo’s waist. “Baby, I could see you naked a billion times and I would never get enough of you. I just…” He rubbed a hand up and down Leo’s ribs with a smile. “I love your bodies so much.”

Leo felt his cheeks heat. “Oh.”

“Yeah, oh. C’mere,” Finn said, opening an arm for Logan to tuck into his side. “Do you want to know what my favorite part of sex is?”

“Wow, that took a turn,” Leo said drily. “Okay?”

“I love,” Finn started. “The beginning and the end. When I just get to touch you, to hold you. Like, forget the whole, like, giving you pleasure- though I am a big fan of that as you well know. Big fan. Huge.”

Logan laughed into Finn’s jaw, nuzzling his skin with his nose. “Allez.”

Finn let out a sigh and pressed his nose into Logan’s hair, gentle eyes peeking out at Leo. “You could tell me you never wanted to have sex again and I would still, every morning and every night, want to kiss every inch of you.” As if to emphasize his point, he pressed a kiss to Logan’s temple, then one to Leo’s cheek. “I love the way your waists fit in my hands. The way your legs wrap around me. The strong muscles of your chests, the soft warmth of your skin.”

Leo felt his eyes suddenly get a little warm and he blinked hard. An insecure feeling worked its way up his throat. “Finn.”

Finn gripped him harder around the waist. “No, baby, don’t cry.” He kissed a tear that fell down Leo’s cheek, then his lips a few times for good measure. “Sunshine, don’t cry.”

“No, it’s just-” Leo sniffed, reaching up to wipe under his eyes. “Our bodies aren’t always going to look like this.”

“And that’s okay,” Finn whispered, resting their foreheads together. “Baby, that’s okay.” He let out a shaky sigh. “I can’t think of any way your body could look and I wouldn’t love it just as much as I do now.”

“Mon soleil,” Logan whispered. He had turned and was now tucked into Leo’s side, his back at an angle against Finn’s chest.. “You’ll always be so beautiful.”

“Yeah,” Finn agreed. “You both-” His breath hitched, and he smiled. “I’m gonna love you for the rest of our lives. And I will love everything about you, always, no matter what. Okay?”

Leo nodded. He felt more settled with the heat of them against him. “Okay.” He kissed Finn softly, then Logan. “I love you,” he mumbled against Logan’s mouth.

“Je t’aime,” Logan sighed. Leo wrapped an arm around his waist to feel his skin. “Mm, you’re cold.”

Leo smiled. “I always am.”

“Ici.” Logan wiggled himself further in between them to more squarely press himself into Leo’s chest.

Finn scoffed. “Um, excuse me,” he said, leaning down to bite Logan’s shoulder. “This is group cuddle time, not ‘hog Leo’ time.”

“But he’s cold.”

Leo smiled sheepishly over Logan’s head, and Finn narrowed his eyes. “Fine.” He bent to put his mouth by Logan’s ear. “But I’m gonna get you for this Tremblay.”

Leo felt Logan’s grin against his skin. “Yes, please.”

Finn let out a slightly frustrated breath. “We cannot lose track of ourselves here, okay?”

“I didn’t say anything.”

“Uh, yes you did, ten, and it is not helping the situation.”

Leo raised his eyebrows playfully. “What situation?”

Finn looked at him as if it was obvious. “The situation I always find myself in when I see you two naked.”

“Oo,” Leo teased. “Sounds fun.”

“Yes, normally, when I have hours to act on it.” He slapped Logan’s ass. “But we’ve got a party to get to, so chop chop. Unfortunately, clothes must go on.” He took a step back to look them over and let out a heavy breath. “Goddamn. Look at my sexy husbands.”

Leo grinned into Logan’s hair and kissed his head quickly. “Okay. Clothes.”

Logan nodded. “Clothes.”

“Wait!” Finn, for a final time, jumped on the bed with a happy sound. When he was settled again, he kicked his feet excitedly. “Okay, go.”

Leo and Logan just grinned at each other, then pulled on their pants.

Have some Finn having fun tossing around his boys! All credits to @lumosinlove !!

“Let’s go, Lo baby,” Finn said. He grabbed Logan’s body from the bed and picked him up bridal style. Logan let out a wheezing noise.

“Fish.”

“Nope, we gotta go.” Finn was grinning down at him and placed a smacking kiss on his forehead. “It’s Christmas!”

“Non, it’s not,” Logan sighed. He burrowed his face into Finn’s neck. “That’s tomorrow.”

Finn nodded enthusiastically as he carried Logan out into the living room. “Right, but Leo’s doing food prep today for dinner tomorrow. Loads of people are coming over, baby, we gotta help.”

Logan groaned. “Café.”

“Right here, honey,” Leo’s voice came. He was stood in the kitchen dressed in the cute reindeer apron Finn had bought him for this exact day, smiling with a mug in his hand. “Put some cinnamon in it, too. And some homemade whipped cream.”

Logan smiled at him. “Thank you.” He jostled Finn’s shoulders. “Down.”

“Nope, not yet.” He boosted Logan up. “Here we go.” And with that, he ran around the counter, making a zoom sound, and stopped right in front of Leo. “Here, Le, Santa brought you a present.”

Leo raised his eyebrows amusedly. “Santa, huh?”

“Yup.” Finn’s grin was sly. “Sexy Santa, too. He forgot his suit and hat, though.”

Leo held out his arms. “It’s okay. I prefer him without it.” He transitioned Logan from Finn’s arms to his own and kissed his forehead. Logan preened under the attention. “My favorite gift ever.”

Finn waggled his eyebrows. “Want me to wrap him up for you? Give me five minutes.”

Leo snorted. “We don’t have time.” Logan reached up to play with his curls and drew him down into a kiss. Leo smiled into it. “Although, you do make a very convincing argument.” With a last kiss, he placed Logan back in Finn’s arms. “Go get dressed, sweethearts. I’ve got coffee ready, some oatmeal, and then it’s show time.”

“On it, butter.” Finn spun a one-eighty, making Logan laugh, and ran back into their bedroom. “Don’t worry, Le!” he called. “Santa will be back with your present in a jiffy!” There was a small silence. “Hey, Le! If I get a sexy Santa costume, can I get you a sexy Mrs. Claus outfit, and then we can unwrap our gift together?”

Leo shook his head fondly. “Whatever you want sweetheart!” He bit his lip. “Tell you what, honey, if we can get the meat marinating and the desserts in the oven by lunch, I’ll give you a present.”

There were two sharp intakes of breath. “On it!”

***

“Finn!”

Logan opened his eyes from where he was laying beneath the shade of a tree. He squinted against the sun filtering through the leaves and turned his head, breaking out into a smile. He didn’t know how or why, but Finn had Leo over his shoulder, Leo still with the football they were throwing in his hands. Leo was laughing, curls dangling towards the ground. Finn was running towards Logan a little lopsidely with that gorgeous crooked smile. Logan pushed himself up on his elbows to greet them, grinning up at them as Finn stopped beside their picnic blanket.

“Hi, gorgeous.”

“Rouge.” He peered around Finn’s legs to meet Leo’s red face. “Why is soleil upside down?”

Finn gave Leo’s butt a loving smack. “I wanted to demonstrate my football tackle.”

“Finn,” Leo laughed. “This is not a football tackle.”

Finn shrugged. “It’s like… if a football tackle was combined with a touchdown. The goal is to carry you into the endzone, Le.”

“Harz, that is not how football-”

But Finn interrupted him by spinning around a few times before crouching down to put Leo on his feet. He pressed a burst of kisses to Leo’s cheek. “Howdy, baby. You okay?”

Leo pinched his hips. “That was a lot of spinning.”

Finn waggled his eyebrows. “Fun, right?”

Leo giggled in the twinkly way he did. It lit Logan up, and he reached up to grab at Leo’s hand. “Assieds-toi, mon amour.”

Leo sat down with an oof and flopped down on Logan’s chest. “How’s your nap, sweetheart?”

“Good,” Logan sighed. “Rouge, ici.”

Finn laid himself down on Logan’s other shoulder. He looked contemplative. “Hey, Lo, do you think I could use you as a football?” He grinned sharply. “Leo and I could toss you in between us.”

Logan slapped his chest, but blushed anyways. Leo’s laugh was light in his ear and he leaned into their bodies as he closed his eyes, allowing the summer heat to work its way into his body. He was warm all over as he drifted off to sleep.

***

“Fish, this is not going to-”

“No, no, hold on, I can do it-”

“Rouge, you’re going to drop me-!”

“Oof.”

Leo stabilized himself on the ground to keep from falling on Logan and Finn, who were pressed into the couch at an awkward angle. Finn was attempting to lift them both up, a feat he assured them he could accomplish. So far, it had proven less than easy.

“Finn,” Leo sighed. “Combined Logan and I are almost four hundred pounds. You’re going to hurt yourself.”

“Nuh-uh,” Finn protested, righting himself with a kiss to Logan’s cheek. “I can squat four twenty-five for reps, peanut butter. I can totally carry you.”

“Hm, so strong,” Logan said appreciatively as he ran his hands up and down Finn’s biceps.

Finn winked at him. “Just for you, baby.” He jumped a couple times them squatted down with a look behind his shoulder at Leo. “C’mon, Le, up.”

Leo sighed again. “Okay,” he conceded. He jumped on Finn’s back and gripped him with his limbs. “Just be careful, sweetheart. We’ve gotta go back after the All-Star break, and coach would kill us if you got injured. And Lo’s gotta make it back to New York in one piece.”

“It’ll be fine, trust me, baby.” He patted Leo’s thighs. “You secure, nutter butter?”

“So secure.”

“All righty.” He guided Logan into standing on the coach and reached out for him. “C’mere, Lolo.”

“That’s not my name.”

“Lo, baby. Let’s go, I wanna do it.”

“D’accord. D’accord, here we go.”

Logan gingerly wrapped his legs around Finn and Leo’s bodies, hooking his ankles into Leo’s lower back. His hands gripped around Finn’s neck.

“Rouge, am I choking you?”

“Not now, but you can later.”

“Harz, non-”

“What do you mean, ‘non’? I’ll have you know, I’m totally game for-”

“Guys,” Leo interrupted with a laugh. “Guys, we’re doing it.”

“Oh,” Finn gasped. “Oh, oh, hey! Yes, look at that!” Finn let out a whoop and jostled Logan around his butt. “Let’s fucking go! Gonna carry both my boys around everywhere.”

Logan raised his eyebrows. “I dare you to take two steps.”

“You just watch.” Finn took two shaky steps backward, then spun and attempted to walk around the couch. Each stride was easier and easier, and Logan and Leo watched a pleased grin take over his face. “Would ya look at that?” He reached one arm around to pat at Leo blindly. “Hey, wanna walk down the aisle like this?”

“No,” Leo laughed. “That’d be ridiculous.”

“Not really. I don’t think it’d surprise anybody.”

Logan laughed and kissed him. “Only you, rouge.”

“No,” Finn retorted with a smile. He was just wandering around the apartment now, aimlessly meandering. “You two seem to be enjoying this.”

Leo got a full view of Logan’s twinkling eyes. “Ouais. Ouais, you know, I am.”

Leo tucked his chin over Finn’s shoulder. “Me, too. Maybe we do walk down the aisle like this.”

“That’s what I’m talking about.” Finn did a little shimmy and headed towards their bedroom. “Okay, now let’s go to the park and see how far I can run with you.”

“Non,” Logan said. He was smirking. “I think I want you to toss me around a little more.”

“Oh yeah? Get ready baby.”

And all Logan and Leo could do was laugh as Logan was launched onto their bed.

Enjoy Leo being the town-favorite NOLA sweetheart that he is, Logan falling in love with butterscotch cookies, Finn being, once again, obsessed with his boys, and Eloise Knut being Mom of the Year.

All credits to @lumosinlove !!

Leo ushered Finn and Logan through the front door, all sweaty from their evening, post-dinner run. They were bickering over who won the sprint back to the house, a little out of breath, and Leo pinched each of their hips to remind them to take off their shoes before walking through towards the kitchen. A familiar, sweet smell hung in the air and he followed his nose to find his mother standing near the oven.

“Hi boys,” Eloise said, smiling. “How was your run?”

“Good, mama,” Leo replied. He kissed her cheek. “You baking?”

But before she could reply, there was a thump and Logan stumbled in from taking his sneakers off, nose tilted up. “What smells so good?”

Finn snorted from behind him. “Nice manners, Tremblay.”

Logan rolled his eyes playfully. “Salut, Eloise. It smells good in here.”

Eloise just waved him off with a laugh. “Thanks, Logan, honey. Just making some butterscotch cookies. Not an approved post-run meal, but you’re on vacation time, so I figured an exception could be made for one night.”

“Definitely,” Finn said. “Thanks for feeding Logan’s sweet tooth this week- those bulk sour strips are getting expensive.”

Logan just shoved him gently. “Mais, non. Leo makes me sweet stuff now.”

Leo would never get tired of the way they looked in his home’s kitchen, laughing and joking with his parents. Eloise eyes were bright as she turned to smile at Leo; she saw right through him always. “Well,” she said. “I taught him well then.” She went over to the fridge. “I must’ve done an exceptional job, too, because he’s not only got one but two lovely boyfriends.”

“Don’t pretend you weren’t already a fan, especially of Tremblay,” Wyatt said as he entered the kitchen and kissed her cheek. “He was always your favorite.”

“Ouch, Eloise,” Finn said, a hand over his heart in a wounded gesture.

“Oh, hush,” Eloise said. She wasn’t even embarrassed, just amused. “Leo, sweetheart, grab the pitcher from the fridge and some glasses? I made some decaf cold-brew. Wyatt, there’s milk in the fridge and I just restocked the sugar bowl.”

“We can help,” Logan said.

Eloise just shooed them away with her hands. “No, you boys go sit out back. Leo and Wyatt have got it.”

Leo and Wyatt both sent her an exasperated, but fond, look, and set about gathering the pitcher and glasses. Leo loved when his mother did this- she was a good hostess always, but he especially loved it in the summer when she would make homemade iced tea and coffee for the ever-rotating guests that would be over in their backyard. Leo and his father always set up and cleaned up so she could just enjoy the company of their friends, and had been for as long as Leo could remember. Sometimes, too, Wyatt would grill some sausages and they’d have late night sandwiches with their neighbours, or just the three of them. Leo didn’t realize how much he’d missed his hometown during his rookie year, especially after getting together with his boys. But this week had been spent going to all his old haunts after his Cup parade: his cove, his old gym, the nice sundae place he and his dad frequented, the market where the blues guitarist played. He had been bringing Mr. Jones baked goods at that market every week for as long as he could remember, and it had felt so good to do so again. Mr. Jones had seen him today, walking up with Finn and Logan and a container of zucchini bread, and had smiled so wide it had almost made Leo cry.

“My boy,” he had said, hugging Leo briefly over his guitar. “What’ll it be today? Any requests?”

Finn had actually answered, with his signature grin. “Any B.B. King?”

Leo had almost melted right through the ground.

Later, they’d stopped by briefly to visit his old hockey coach, who ran youth summer camps at Leo’s old rink. Mrs. Auclair had let out a loud shout, and then a small gasp at Finn and Logan beside her. “My sweet boy,” she’d said in French. Leo had missed her Cajun accent. “You gotta warn me next time so I don’t get starstruck!”

To Leo’s surprise, Logan had laughed and made a comeback in French, much to her amusement. When she’d asked Finn something in French, he’d hesitated, which in turn made her laugh and switch to English. They’d immediately started a conversation, mindful of the little eyes on the ice that were skating around, and Leo had felt so happy in that moment that the bittersweet feeling of being back home had started to fade and transform into sunshiney, bone-deep warmth.

Now, he and his dad brought out a plate of cookies and the iced coffee to their glass table outside. Logan and Finn were sitting close on two of the wooden chairs, old and well-loved, Finn running a hand through Logan’s sweaty hair. When they saw Leo, they both looked up and their smiles widened. Leo still didn’t really know what to do with that, only knew that it made him feel better than anything ever had.

“Hi, nutter-butter,” Finn said as Leo bent and set the tray down. “Need any help?”

Leo shook his head and accepted Finn’s kiss on his forehead. “No, thanks. You want some iced coffee?”

“Ouais,” Logan said. He shifted to sit up straighter. “Merci, mon coeur.”

Leo smiled and poured two glasses of the dark liquid, adding a dash of milk to Finn’s and lots of milk and sugar to Logan’s. He heard a whistle from behind him. “Damn,” Wyatt said. “Is there even any coffee in that?”

Logan flushed and Finn laughed. “I’ve been saying that for years. The sweet tooth is incurable.” Finn held his up. “Mine, however, is perfectly balanced. Not too strong, and not too weak, like Mr. Sugar Bomb’s over here.”

Logan grumbled under his breath and Wyatt winked at Leo with a smile. Leo blushed slightly, but poured some for himself and his parents and sat down as Wyatt placed the tray of cookies on the table. Eloise followed, her blonde curls bouncing on top of her head. “How are we, boys?”

“Good,” Finn said. “Thanks so much, Eloise. These look so good.”

She looked pleased. “Help yourselves, honeys.”

Logan immediately reached for a cookie and moaned when he took a bite. His eyes closed and he nodded repeatedly making Leo chuckle. “Ouais,” he said after swallowing. He looked at Eloise. “These are really good. Can we have the recipe?”

Leo snorted. “You mean can she give me the recipe? You can’t bake, sweetheart.”

Logan patted his thigh, already reaching for another cookie. “Ouais, that’s what I meant.”

Leo rolled his eyes but kissed the top of his head. “I’ll take a picture from mama’s recipe book.” He looked to Eloise. “If that’s okay?”

“Of course, sweetheart,” she said. She took a sip from her iced coffee. “You know, it’s been a while since I made these. I used to make them all the time for your team, remember, sweetheart? The iced coffee, too, and sweet tea. Lord, Wyatt and I used to bring those plastic baseball coolers, didn’t we? The ones with the spouts.”

“Iced tea? At a hockey game?” Finn asked, amused.

“Yeah,” Leo replied with a shrug. “People really loved it. Buses and stuff used to get hot.” He grimaced. “It was awful playing a full game of hockey and then stepping out into the humid air, too.”

“I’m just impressed you had that many kids wanting to play hockey here,” Finn said. He had an arm around Logan in between them and was stroking Leo’s shoulder with his hand. “It just doesn’t seem, like…”

“Like a hockey town?” Wyatt supplied. Finn nodded. “Not really, but in the city you can find everything.” He jerked his head to Leo. “We just got lucky Le had such a good coach and a talented group of kids the years he played.”

Logan turned to look at Leo, swallowing another bite of cookie. “Did any of your other teammates make it to the NHL, Le?”

Leo looked up abruptly from where he had been picking up a cookie. His mother’s eyes were already on him, careful and watching. She was frowning slightly, her lips pursed, but didn’t say anything. He flicked his eyes across to Finn, who had furrowed his brow, and finally landed his gaze on Logan, who looked like he was going to shy away a little. Leo put a hand on his thigh and squeezed before turning to pick up his coffee again.

“Yeah,” he said. “A couple. But I don’t- we don’t really keep in touch anymore.” He took a bite of cookie and straightened with a small smile. “That’s okay though. I like the Lions better anyway.”

Finn squeezed his shoulder gently, but when Leo turned to look at him he was smiling. “Well, I’d be offended if you didn’t.”

That made them all laugh and Leo listed into Logan’s side a little, feeling the texture of his ribs through his shirt. He felt a little lighter, but when he looked across the table he could see his mother’s eyes still watching him and swallowed.

***

Later, when he was finishing drying up the dishes, his mother walked in through the back door and gently closed it behind her. Wyatt and his boys were still outside and chatting, laughing. Leo had placed a kiss on Finn and Logan’s foreheads and had come inside to begin cleaning. He just needed a moment, and they seemed to recognize it, following him with their soft gazes as he’d carried the plates, cups, and pitcher inside.

His mother came up beside him and took a plate from his hands to put in a cabinet. “You alright, sweetheart?” she whispered gently in French. He’d missed the way her voice curved around the vowels, so different from Logan’s and Pascal’s and Sirius’.

“I’m okay,” he said, but his voice was soft.

She bit her lip. “Do they know about…?”

Leo shook his head. “No. No, I- I haven’t told them yet. Hasn’t come up.”

She grasped onto his biceps to turn him towards her. He was stronger than her, much taller, too, but she had always been good at making him feel held and surrounded. “I think you should, honey.”

Leo nodded and felt his eyes sting. “I know. I know, I should, mama, but- I don’t want to make them feel guilty-”

“Why would they feel guilty?” she asked, brows furrowed.

Leo breathed shakily. “Because… he wanted to hide, and I didn’t. And now, with them, we…”

“You feel like you’re hiding?” Eloise asked gently. When Leo nodded, she tisked her tongue and reached up to bring his down into a hug. He wrapped his arms around her waist. She was warm and strong, as always, and he hoped he always felt this safe in her arms. “Oh, honey.” She stroked his hair. “There is a difference between not coming out to the world because you’re not ready, and hiding from each other.” She pulled back to grab his face between her two palms. “You’re boys don’t hide from you, Leo. Not like him. They’re not like him. So don’t hide from them, honey. They love you so much.”

“Yeah,” Leo said. He was nervous, and a bit sad, but he still smiled when he thought of them. “Yeah, they do.”

“I love you, honey,” his mother said, pulling him into another hard hug. “I love you so much. All I want is for you to be happy, and they make you so happy. That’s all I could ask for my sweet boy. And I know I don’t know… everything about what happened, but they should.” She stroked a hand slowly through his hair and said her next words quietly. “They’ll listen, I know they will. They deserve you sweetheart.” She kissed his cheek. “And when you’re all ready, you can tell people. But it doesn’t mean that you’re hiding right now.”

As if on cue, the back door opened. Leo watched over his mother’s shoulder as Finn and Logan walked in, looking at him with careful eyes. With a last squeeze, his mother pulled away. “I’m going to go join Wyatt out back.” She smiled softly at Leo. “Good night, sweetheart. I love you.”

“Love you, mama,” Leo whispered and leaned down to kiss her cheek.

She winked at him and turned around, placing a hand on each of his boys and giving their arms a squeeze. “Night, boys.”

“Bonne nuit, Eloise,” Logan said softly.

They both watched her as she closed the back door behind her, then turned to Leo. Finn walked up and took his hand. “Le?”

Leo just squeezed his hand, then reached his other one out for Logan’s. He smiled at them both. “Shower?”

Logan leaned up to kiss him softly. “Ouais.”

Leo tried not to be quiet in the shower, he really did. Finn and Logan didn’t ask any questions, just washed his hair and body gently. Logan tucked himself under Leo’s chin when they wrapped themselves in towels, and Finn gently handed them each a pair of boxers with a kiss to each of their cheeks. Leo stayed in the bathroom a moment longer, combing through his curls with some cream and gathering his breath. To his own surprise, he looked calm on the outside. His mother was right, he supposed. His boys loved him, they listened to him, they never judged- what reason would he have to be nervous?

He took a deep breath and shook out his hair lightly, squeezing it gently with the microfiber towel his mother had given him a few years ago. He felt arms wrap gently around him, and he looked back to see Logan staring up at him with his devastating green eyes. He pressed a kiss to Leo’s spine. “Ça va?”

Leo nodded. “Yeah, let me finish with my hair. I’ll join you in a minute.”

But Logan didn’t move, still a warm weight against Leo’s back. Leo smiled at himself in the mirror. A barnacle, that one.

When he finished, he turned around to face Logan. “Tired, sweetheart?”

Logan nodded with his face squished into Leo’s chest. “Ouais. The heat makes me sleepy.”

Leo laughed. “Can’t make fun of me for not liking the cold in the winter anymore, can you?”

“Non, I still can,” Logan grumbled, but he was smiling softly.

He moved his arms to loop around Leo’s neck and looked up at him expectantly. Leo snorted, but grabbed him under his thighs to hoist him up and wrap his legs around his waist. Logan was heavier than he looked, all thick muscle, but Leo supported him easily and ran a hand up and down his back. He bit at Logan’s shoulder. “You’re so strong and sexy. Just want to eat you.”

Logan laughed in his ear. He pulled back slightly to bite at Leo’s shoulder as well. “You, too.”

Leo kissed his neck with a smile and walked into his bedroom. Finn was already sat up in bed with his glasses down his nose, book in his hand. He glanced up at them and smiled as they came to sit next to him. Leo tried to gently set Logan down on the bed, but Logan shook his head and held on tighter.

Finn snorted. “You’re such a little shit, Tremblay.”

“Non,” Logan said.

Leo sat down on the edge of the bed with a laugh, Logan now in his lap. “Ouais, you are. I love you, though.”

“You do,” Logan said. He leaned into for a kiss then leaned back with a sigh and a smile. “You know, I said that to you three months ago to the day.”

Finn leaned over to scuff the back of his head. “You mean we said that.”

“Ouais, but I said it first.”

“Because you jumped the gun, Logan.”

“How could I resist?” Logan asked. He kissed Leo’s cheeks hard, and Leo squinted one eye shut with a grin. “Look at him.”

“Look at both of you,” Finn replied. He patted the bed next to him. “C’mon, up here.”

Logan swung a leg over Leo’s lap and crawled next to Finn. He opened his arm for Leo to come and tuck himself into his side, but Leo just sat crisscrossed on the bed and stared at them for a minute. Logan furrowed his brow, but Leo just shook his head and smiled. Finn put his book down, and Leo took each of their hands.

“Thank you,” he said. “Thanks for coming home with me this week.”

Finn kissed his hand. “Of course, baby.”

“I just mean,” Leo started. “It’s been really nice to bring you home.” He tilted his head. “I’ve always wanted to take someone- or, someones now, I guess- home to meet my parents.”

Logan still looked slightly confused. “Soleil… did you ever-?”

Leo sat up straighter. “Date someone else?”

Logan nodded. “Ouais. I just- I thought about what I said at the table. And I just thought maybe you’d- with someone else on your-” He paused for a moment in that way he did when he was thinking of the English words. “D’accord, I’m sorry. I- did I say something wrong? Out in the garden?”

Leo shook his head. “No, you’re okay. You’re- you’re not wrong.”

Finn also sat up. “Someone on your team?”

Leo nodded and looked down. “Yeah. Yeah.”

Logan made a noise in his throat. He knelt his way over to Leo and straddled his lap, legs extending out towards the end of the bed. His hands began to mindlessly card their way through Leo’s still-damp hair. “What happened?”

Leo ran his hands up and down his waist. “What do you mean?”

“Something happened.”

Leo laughed slightly, but it was rough. “And how do you know?”

Finn answered for Logan. “Because whoever it was put that look on your face.” He also crawled over to sit beside them. Leo could feel his body heat from where he was pressed against his side. “I don’t like that look.”

“Me neither,” Logan said. He kissed Leo’s cheek. “Don’t like you sad.”

Leo rolled his eyes. “I’m not sad.”

“Then what are you?” Finn asked.

Leo shrugged. “I don’t- it’s not really-”

“No, it is important,” Finn pushed. He softened his tone and his eyes were gentle. He was always so gentle with them. “Really, Le, what are you?”

Leo closed his eyes and leaned into Logan’s hands. “Angry I think.”

“Quoi?” Logan asked. He gripped Leo’s hair a bit harder and Leo opened his eyes to look at him. “What did he do to you?” he repeated.

Leo took a deep breath. “His name was Jack. Jack Archer.”

Finn scoffed. “Basic name. Not a fan.”

Leo rolled his eyes bit, but smiled. “You don’t know anything about him yet.”

Finn shrugged. “Don’t need to, your face says it all. And besides, am I wrong?”

Leo shook his head. “Not- not really, no.”

“Allez,” Logan said. He settled his hips further down into Leo’s. “Tell us.”

“Okay,” Leo said. He breathed shakily. “Okay, yeah. He played hockey with me, and is now on Tampa’s farm team, but we also had classes together in high school. We- we were a… ‘thing’ I guess.” His boys looked concerned, but they let him continue. “But he never- he never wanted anyone to know. Which was fine. I didn’t want anyone to know about me, either, for a while. But he also-” Leo felt the tears start in his eyes. “He would- ignore me, I guess, sometimes. In public. Like, one second we’d be joking, and then I’d get too close, I guess, or accidentally touch him, and then he’d- he’d just jerk back. Or tell me to back off, but not in a nice way?”

Finn let out a frustrated huff. “Fucker.”

“No, Finn,” Leo said. “No, he really- I mean, in general he was nice. But he just- I think he was just really scared. I mean, we were in high school.” He kneaded his palms into Logan’s lower back. “And I was fine for a while, keeping it a secret. And I also…” Leo breathed, his cheeks turning a flushed red with shame. “I also just really liked having that attention from someone. Finally, you know? After spending so long hiding it, it felt good to not have to hide it, at least to one person.”

Logan kissed his cheek. “Ouais. Ouais, I understand.”

Leo leaned back to look at him and Finn. “But I also knew that that wasn’t how I deserved to be treated. And so I- when I wanted to tell my family, I broke up with him. I didn’t want to hide anymore. But then the NHL was looking, so I didn’t start anything new, and then I got on the Lions, and, well-” He shrugged with a smile. “You know the rest.”

“Yeah,” Finn whispered. “Yeah, we do.”

“Leo,” Logan said suddenly. He looked a bit scared, a bit sad. “Do we- are you still hiding? Do we make you feel like you’re hiding?”

Leo shook his head hard. “No. No, you don’t. It’s okay. You- you don’t ignore me in public. We still go on dates, we still hug on the ice.” He stroked Logan’s cheek. “It’s hard. I know it is. But we don’t hide from each other.” Finn cupped his cheek, and Leo kissed his palm. “And I’ll- I’ll wait for you. Whenever you want to, we’ll come out, but I’ll wait for you.”

Logan directed his gaze back to him. His words came out in a rush, so unlike his normal way of speaking. “Désolé. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I’m not-”

Leo interrupted him with a hard kiss. “Non, no, Logan. It’s my decision, too, and I’m deciding it’s okay to wait.”

“Me, too, baby,” Finn said. He leaned in and kissed Logan. “I’ll wait for you. I love you, I'll wait for you forever.”

Logan's face had a complicated expression. “You- I don't want you to wait forever. Just- just not right now.” He pushed his forehead against Leo's. “I’m still sorry.”

“Don’t be,” Leo said. “You two- you’re nothing like Jack. He didn’t-” Leo felt his eyes tearing up. “He didn’t- God, sometimes he didn’t even look at me, and I wanted him to look so bad, I don’t- sometimes I don’t even recognize who I was back then.”

“Well,” Finn said. “I love you who you are now.” He kissed Leo gently then moved to sit behind Logan. “We love you for who you are now and who you will be, baby.”

“Ouais,” Logan said. “No more hiding, soleil.” He tucked his head over Leo’s shoulder and Leo wrapped him up tight. “No more.”

Leo’s tears fell onto Logan’s bare shoulder, but he didn’t seem to mind. “I love you. I love you so much.” He laughed a little and hid his face in Logan’s neck. “You know, he hated my mother’s butterscotch cookies.”

“Quoi?” Logan said, loud in the quiet room. He pulled back with wide eyes. “What, why?”

Leo couldn’t help but laugh. “He said they were too sweet.”

“Non,” Logan retorted. He looked offended. “Pas question, je ne te crois pas.”

“Believe it, sweetheart,” Leo said. He looked up to Finn. “He also put three shots of espresso in his lattes.”

Finn scrunched his nose. “Ew. That is not perfectly balanced.”

Logan kissed Leo’s forehead firmly. “Sounds like he wasn’t good for you, anyways.”

Leo gazed at them both adoringly. “But you both are perfect for me.”

Both of their gazes softened. Finn leaned in to place his lips gently on Leo’s temple, then Logan’s. “I love you.” He shifted to go lie down. “Now, I believe it’s bed time. C’mon, I’ll read to you.”

“Ouais,” Logan said with a last kiss to Leo’s lips. He brushed their noses together. “Je t’aime.”

“Love you,” Leo whispered. He crawled into Finn’s open arms and Logan curled up on his chest, their legs tangled. “And I’ll- I can tell you more stuff about him, if you want.”

Finn put an arm around them. “Only if you want to.” He shrugged. “Don’t want to stroke my ego too much, you know?”

Leo laughed. “He wasn’t that bad.”

Finn grinned mischievously. “Right, but I’m perfect for you. Can’t really beat that.”

“No,” Leo sighed happily. “No you can’t.”

Logan grunted against his chest. “Allez, soleil, rouge.”

Finn reached down to smack his butt lightly. “I’m going, Tremblay, gotta appreciate our Leo thoroughly first.”

Logan peeked out through one eye with a smirk. “Oui?”

Finn kissed his hand and touched Logan’s forehead. “Focus, baby.” He settled back and opened the book. “Alright, where were we, Le? Chapter six?”

Leo nodded and leaned his head against Finn’s shoulder. Jack Archer seemed so far away in that moment, even though he was probably also visiting his parents just about fifteen minutes away. But he didn’t crowd Leo’s mind like he used to- not with Logan’s weight on him and Finn’s gentle voice in his ear. Leo closed his eyes, basking in the warm Louisiana air and the smell of his childhood bedroom, now mixing with Finn and Logan’s scents. This, he thought, was worth the waiting.
