I made this a long time ago and was very nervous about posting it to Tumblr. I can’t really think of a good caption~ everything I wanted to say is in the little blurb at the beginning.

@jaydickweek day 1: De-Aging/Age Reversal // Time Travel
Jason ends up in Gotham when he’s dead – post-funeral, pre-triumphant return – where no one knows who he is. Everything looks different from this perspective: Dick’s a fucking mess and not as experienced as Jason remembered. He fights with Bruce more than Jason does. And then there’s infant-Robin-Tim, who is very bad at pretending not to be connected to Dick Grayson, socialite, when Jason threatens to get a little rough.
(Also, holy shit, does Dick reflexively flirt with any authoritative morally ambiguous older man who gives him a real challenge? Did Jason know that? Does Dick know that?)
Well, his family still drives him nuts. That’s the same.
This is a one-shot. Sorry, I kind of forgot Adrien.
One week. Just one week. Marinette took one week off a year. One week where she didn’t work herself to death as Marinette. Or nearly get herself killed as Ladybug. One week where she didn’t do any favors, any designs, didn’t work in the bakery, didn’t save anyone. A week to relax. A week to meditate. A week to destress and just take care of herself. Just one week every year. To prepare for it she sent reminders to all her friends and family. She posted a flyer on the class bulletin board. Marinette finished all her commission and school work in advance.
She made Fu aware that Ladybug wouldn’t be active, told Chat Noir that Queen Bee would be his partner while she was gone. Marinette always made sure everyone was prepared for her absence. And made it clear that she would be unavailable. No matter what. She didn’t care if the world was ending.

Reckless Rescuer
I literally just came up with this idea at midnight last night when I was just starting to go into fever dream mode so... This will be interesting. You asked to be tagged so here you go @justconfusedperiod!
Imagine that Marinette never became Ladybug.
Master Fu chose actual adults to go save Paris while Sabine and Tom gave Marinette combat training.
Despite not being a hero Marinette was still caught up in a lot of akuma attacks (Because Hawkmoth is a bitter ass) so she learned how to use everything and anything to her advantage.
Even though she's crafty Marinette still dies in akuma attacks and gets revived by the Miraculous Cure at the end of the day.
As sad as it is, she becomes used to dying.
That doesn't mean that she TRIES to get hurt during attacks, it just means that she expects her life to end one day because of an akuma or something and for her to not come back, so dying isn't a fear for her anymore.
She also builds a tolerance for pain during attacks where she doesn't die, but still gets very injured.
It's amazing how trauma can practically destroy someone's life while others are just so desensitized that it doesn't affect them anymore.
One day the Dupain-Chengs move to Gotham to both expand their business, and to get away from a certain magic fueled fashion disaster.
I mean, seriously.
You're supposed to be a designer but here you are walking around looking like a cardboard candy cane beige toothpick of a man.
Don't get me started on what the heck happened with Hawkmoth's costume.
What is that?
Are you wearing a silver condom on your head or what??
Anyways, Marinette attends Damian's school and they bond over being the only one's not overly worried about danger in certain situations.
At one point Damian thought that she might have been a hero or something but threw that thought away when he witnessed her somehow fall UP a staircase. (I've actually done this before. Surprisingly it's pretty fun.)
All was fine and dandy until one afternoon when they were walking to Neti's place after school to work on a project.
They were walking through a less populated part of the city and were passing a shoe store when two thugs held them at a gunpoint demanding for their cash.
The youngest Wayne was fully prepared to attack the men when Marinette started scolding them for being rude?
Marinette: Hey! You can't just do that! Do you know how rude it is to interrupt someone's conversation?! Apologize right and leave us alone right now OR ELSE.
The two men just looked at her for a moment before doubling over and bursting out in laughter.
After all, what can this tiny school girl do to hurt them?
The first guy calmed down and was about to threaten them again when all of a sudden a pink flat was thrown at his face.
Because of he was unprepared and because of the force behind the flying shoe, he was knocked over and fell to the floor with a thud.
The second guys turned to look at the girl who just threw her shoe at his partner when he was suddenly wacked in the face as well.
So there they were.
Two teenagers, one with no shoes on, in front of a show store with two thugs at their feet.
Truly a sight to behold.
Marinette turns to Damian and asks him for his shoes.
When he doesn't respond (he's in shock) Marinette just shrugs, turns around, and SMASHES HER ARM THROUGH THE GLASS WINDOW OF THE SHOE STORE TO GRAB A CROC AND CHUCK IT AT THE FIRST GUY AGAIN BECAUSE HE WAS GETTING UP.
She then turns to the second dude who was on his knees and says in a dark tone, "You better go and leave us alone before I get my hands on a pair of iceskates. Got it?"
He nods his head and scrambles to run away from the short girl with pigtails that just single handedly smashed her arm through glass and was somehow not wincing in pain from her many bleeding cuts and she threw shoes at them.
His partner frantically got to his feet and followed him.
After making sure that the two would-be-muggers are far away Mari turns to Damian and waves her still bleeding hand in front of his face.
"Heelllooooo? Anybody home?"
She then shakes his shoulders a bit.
Damian, now no longer in shock, starts freaking out about her injuries.
"oh...my...gosh....oh my gosh... oH MY GOSH YOU'RE BLEEDING EVERYWHERE!! OHMYGOSH THAT WAS SO RECKLESS OF YOU, YOU COULD HAVE DIED AND OH NO YOU JUST STRAIGHT UP BROKE A GLASS WINDOW WITH YOUR BARE HANDS!! YOU FUCKING IDIOT YOU'RE HURT! WE NEED TO GETYOUFIRSTAIDOHMYGOSH!!!"
She tries to get him to calm down but that honestly makes him freak out even more.
"HOW ARE YOU NOT REACTING TO THE PAIN OF CUTTING YOUR ARM WITH MULTIPLE PIECES OF GLASS?!? YOU FREAKING THREW SHOES AT THEM! SHOES! WHAT IF YOU FREAKING DIED FROM THAT?!?"
"Well that would make it the 2615th time."
"...."
"....."
"Excuse me but wHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT WOULD'VE BEEN THE 2615TH TIME YOU DIED?!??!??"
Marinette was trying to get him to breathe since he was almost on the verge of a panic attack when the owner of the shoe store came out with a first aid kit.
The elderly woman proceeded to patch up Marinette's arm while thanking her for scaring away the muggers.
"Those two just keep scaring the customers away so I cannot thank you dearie enough!"
"Oh, it was no problem ma'am. They really needed to learn some manners anyways!"
"They really are so rude aren't they. And there we go! Your arm is all bandaged up. I would be careful with it if I were you."
She old lady then turns to Damian who has calmed down a bit now that Marinette's arm is bandaged.
"You've got quite a wild girlfriend here. Be sure to watch out for her safety or else you're gonna lose her."
That causes the two teens faces to burn red.
"Oh no you've got it wrong. She's not my girlfriend although I do agree that I should start looking out far her health more." He turns to Marinette as he says the last bit.
She just replies with a sheepish smile and a shrug.
"She's definitely going to give me gray hairs early."
The store owner gave Marinette and Damian a knowing look before sending the two on their way.
On the walk to Marinette's house Damian kept scolding her for her brash decisions and worrying over her arm at the same time.
At one point Damian asked her if she could actually feel the pain from her cuts or not and she just replied with "I got injured a lot when I lived in Paris so I have a high pain tolerance. This isn't even the worst wound I've ever gotten."
Needless to say, that did not reassure Damian at all.
When they did reach their destination they ended up deciding to finish the project on another day to let Marinette's arm heal a bit.
He calls Alfred to pick him up and when faced with the butler's questioning stare he just replies with "Too much excitement for today."
Before the limo drove off Marinette ran outside to the car and handed Damian a bag full of pastries.
"Consider this an apology for making you freak out so much."
He nodded and took the bag but still told her "You're an idiot you know right?"
"Haha. Or so I've been told." She shrugs. "See you tomorrow in class if you're not too traumatized!"
"Tt. We live in Gotham. It's gonna take more than that to truly scar me. Although I have to say, that's the closest someone's gotten in a long time. Don't do it again."
"No promises!" Marinette yells as the limo drives off.
That night Damian got a nightmare filled with shoes.
Marinette is now known and feared throughout the more amateur criminal community.
True to her word, Marinette tried to reduce the amount of risky choices that she took.
I mean, there was that incident with the llamas, trumpets, and skateboards but we don't talk about that.
Her safety streak ended when Damian was kidnapped.
And by the Joker no less.
Ya, no.
She's not just gonna stand by while her friend litteraly gets kidnapped by a clown man thing when she could do something about it.
The Joker called the Waynes through a video chat and threatens the dump Damian into a pool filled with unidentified and possibly contaminated water until they give him half a million dollars.
And because it's a two way video chat and all of the Waynes (except Damian) are there they can't 'call the batfam' to save him.
Because they were all so busy panicking and Joker was busy laughing, no one but Damian noticed a dark silhouette sneaking around in the shadows.
The moment he saw them he immediately knew who it was.
'Oh no. ThaT'S MY IDIOT!!'
Marinette noticed Damian's panicked stare on her and just, gave him a thumbs up? Before going back into the darkness.
'Oh no oh no ohnoohnononono what's she doing?!' He thought to himself as he heard quiet shuffling in the shadows.
Going back to the screen, Bruce was about to send the money when all of a sudden a bright light was turned on from behind the Joker to the left.
And they weren't expecting what they saw.
There under the light was someone in a Barney the Dinosaur costume sitting in a rainbow bumper car with a radio and a bag filled with something strapped in the passenger side.
TrULy RaDiAnT.
The purple dino turned on the radio, (which was playing the Barney theme song) made eye contact with the clown, and promptly said "Beep beep bitch." in a robotic voice (there was a voice changer in the costume) before driving full speed at him.
At first the Joker tried to run away from the vehicle but for some reason the bumper car was extremely fast and RAN HIM OVER before turning around,
AND FUCKING DOING IT AGAIN!!
Double oof.
They did this around 12 times before the Joker managed to push up from under the bumper car at the perfect time.
Marinette did a backflip (dramatics are guaranteed) as she jumped out of the rainbow ride while simultaneously throwing the radio at the Joker at full force.
The Joker, not expecting that, was thrown against the base of a wall.
He got up just in time to see his attacker pull out a shoe from the bag and chuck it at his nuts.
*cue everyone either laughing at his pain or wincing in sympathy*
The Barney pulls out a sandal from the bag and throws it at his face and uses a black stiletto to pin the clown's arm tO THE FRIGGING WALL when he reaches to touch where the flip flop hit him.
(Is there a difference between sandals and flip flops?)
She then uses another stiletto (a red one this time) to pin his other arm and pulls out YET ANOTHER SHOE (a rainboot) to hit his face.
...again....
This time he gets knocked out though so there's that.
...
....
.....
The power of FOOTWEAR!!
The purple and green dinosaur goes to untie Damian while his family just watch through the screen with their jaws on the floor, still processing what the actual heck just happened.
They get snapped out of their shock when the youngest Wayne launches himself into the Barney's arms and starts rambling about how worried he was and did the store owner give you all those shoes and why the heck did you follow me here.
They don't know what they were expecting the person under the Barney costume to look like but they definitely weren't expecting a young girl with pigtails wearing stilts to come out.
Apparently she needed them to fit into the suit.
Damian: How did you even know I was in trouble?
Marinette: I sorta have a six sense for this kind of stuff. It's disappointing that I didn't get to use all of my amo though :(
Damian: Wait. You brought MORE shoes?
Marinette: Yep! And a couple other things as well. Like this trumpet case, and this bowling ball, and this duck themed alarm clock (I have one lol), and oh! Wait a moment would ya?
*walks over to the pool and dumps around 30 bath bombs in*
Marinette: There! Now this place will smell super nice!
Damian: Did you just dump a ton of bath bombs into a pool of unidentified liquid?
Marinette: Yep!
Damian: Let me rephrase that. Did you just dump a ton of bath bombs into a pool of possibly chemically contaminated water which could possibly have a bad reaction to the bath bombs which could possibly explode or just generally be the death of us?
Marinette: ........
Damian: ........
Marinette: ......
Damian: ........
Marinette: ....well it wouldn't be the FIRST time I-
Damian close to tears: yEs I KnOw PLeaSe StOp ReMinDiNg mE.
Ya so this was just a random idea I had and that I will probably not be adding to but y'all reading this are more than welcome to! If you do continue or make your own little spins on this please tag me! I would love to read them :D

Mayor Bourgeoisie orders all the schools in the city to reopen.
Chloe, of course, will be staying home.
(Sabrina? Not so lucky.)
Adrien? Will also be staying home.
So will, it should be noted, every child of every rich family or
government official. (and let’s be honest–all the government officials are rich, and let’s be honest, every one of them is corrupt)
The rest of the children?
Expendable.
Ladybug stands up and calls for the Mayor to rescind his decision, to look at the facts, to face the facts. If the schools reopen now, in the middle of the pandemic, children will die. Their teachers will die. Their families will die.
The poor will die.
The Mayor refuses, and condemns Ladybug for her speech.
She’s expecting to have an ally in Chat Noir, but to her shock and dismay–
He’s on the mayor’s side.
He wants the schools to reopen. He insists that keeping kids at home is cruel and unfair. That kids should be in school with their friends.
Ladybug tries to make him see sense–
But he doesn’t believe her. He doesn’t believe that Covid19 is as dangerous as people say. No one in his family has been affected, no one that he knows has been affected.
Ladybug tells him, in tears, that her grandmother got it, and died just a week ago.
And Chat Noir, isntead of showing sympathy, just scoffs.
“She didn’t die of Covid19,” he says scathingly, “She probably had an underlying problem? Right? That’s what killed her, not the coronavirus. No one has died from the corona virus. Hospitals are lying about how many people are dying from it so they can get more money. It’s not lethal, more people die of the flu than this. More people die from car accidents than this. The schools need to reopen. It’s important for kids to be in real schools with their friends. Kids don’t get the virus, they’ll be fine.”
And all Marinette can do is just stare at her partner, the person she thought she knew, the person she thought she could trust.
Chat Noir publicly stands against her, stands with the mayor, stands with all the people who don’t care about anyone but themselves. With all the people who would like to see the poor children sick and dying if it means the parents are free to go back to work.
Chat Noir would rather see Marinette and all her friends forced into classrooms too small to social distance in, into hallways cramped and crowded and not well enough ventilated, he would rather they die and watch their friends die and their teachers die and their family members die, all because it’s ‘good for them’ to be with their friends, it’s ‘better than being stuck at home with no human interaction’.
Being dead is better than being home-schooled, as far as Chat Noir is concerned. And he’s pushing this ideology onto everyone. Forcing everyone to face the possibility of death, because as far as he is concerned, the corona virus isn’t fake, exactly, but it’s being blown out of proportion. It’s harmless. No one has died from the corona virus.
It doesn’t matter that Marinette tried to argue with him, tried to explain that if she pushed someone off a building, yes, it would be hitting the ground that killed them, but that doesn’t change the fact that if she hadn’t pushed them they wouldn’t have died.
Chat Noir doesn’t care that her grandmother died in the hospital, doesn’t care that she and her family haven’t even been able to hold a funeral for her, he doesn’t care.
He doesn’t care about anyone but himself.
But Marinette does. She care about her friends. She cares about her teachers. She cares about everyone that would be at risk if the schools are allowed to reopen.
So she does everything in her power to stop it from happening.
As Ladybug, she gives speeches, she goes on the Ladyblog, she goes on every news station that will take her, she goes on the radio, she tells everyone not to listen to the Mayor. She tells everyone to keep their kids home, where they are safe, she tells the teachers and principals and janitors and secretaries and every single person involved in the running of schools to shut the schools down before they can open.
As Marinette, she talks to her friends, she shares the videos and recordings of her speeches as Ladybug, she and her parents hang banners from every inch of their house, and they get a giant flag to fly on Marinette’s balcony, and Marinette creates face masks that she gives away for free with slogans like “don’t stay in school” and “reopen the government before schools” and “if it’s safe for me, why isn’t it safe for Mayor Bourgeoisie?”
With the combined charisma and leadership skills of her civilian identity and her hero identity, she manages to get almost everyone in her school organized through social media, and as a protest, they all refuse to sign in to any of their online courses for a week straight.
Including many of the teachers.
This is just a preview of what will happen if the schools are reopened.
This is just a preview of the strike that is to come if they are forced by their government that doesn’t care whether they live or die only if they can be exploited for profit to return to cramped, underfunded buildings that will guarantee a tragedy.
If the schools reopen, none of them will go.
If the schools reopen, it will just be an empty building.
If the schools reopen, none of them will return.
Some of the students and teachers refuse to be a part of the protest. Adrien is one of them, and he’s sent Marientte several private messages trying to convince her to stop, to change her mind, to realize how irrational she’s being.
She tells him about her grandmother, and outlines what is going to happen if all of the children in the city are forced into tiny buildings and tinier classrooms together.
And his response is almost identical to the response Chat Noir gave her. The same science-denying, compassionless refrain of ‘no one has died from the coronavirus, hospitals are lying so they can weasel extra money, she had underlying causes, she would have died anyways’.
She sends screenshots of the conversation to first Alya and Nino, and then to the rest of the class.
She blocks Adrien from all of her social media, and whatever feelings she had for him are smothered by the pit of black rage that boils in her blood whenever she remembers what he said, whenever she remembers what Chat Noir said, whenever she remembers what the Mayor said, whenever she remembers what anyone who is downplaying and laughing about the pandemic has said.
They only care about themselves.
They only care about money.
The Mayor presses forwards. Threatens the schools with retaliation if they don’t open. Mr. Damocles makes an announcement that the school will be reopening on shedule, and that masks will be provided to students.
Marinette’s parents receive in the mail, a waiver, declaring that, with their signature, they will place no blame on the school or the city of Marinette contracts Covid19 and gets sick or died.
Her father wants to tear it to pieces, but her mother stops him. And she calls up every news station that Ladybug has appears on. And she sends them pictures of the waiver, she tells them exactly what the schools are doing. Her father calls the parents of all of Marinette’s friends and tells them not to sign the waiver, he tells them not to give in to the threats from the school or the government.
The protest, which was supposed to lask a week, extends to two.
Marinette gets her hands on the waiver, and brings it up to her room so she and Tikki can read it together.
And the pit of rage deepens with every word she reads.
Marinette lives right across the street from her school.
Tikki is the one to say the words, “Let’s go, Marinette.”
And Marinette replies, “Tikki, spots on!”
And they go out.
As Ladybug.
First to Marinette’s school.
They make sure no one is inside.
They use her Lucky Charm, and get a vacuum. She turns it on.
And then they destroy the school.
Use the yoyo the slice through the concrete like it’s butter, like the yoyo is a lightsaber. They use her supernatural strength to turn that concrete into dust.
Every square inch of the building is reduced, very quickly, into dust. Dust which gets sucked up the instant it’s small enough into the Lucky Charm vacuum, so that it can’t get blown around by the wind and pose a danger to anyone or anything.
By the time she is done, there is nothing except different colored patches of tiled flooring to show that a building ever stood where her school used to be.
She turns the vacuum off.
She goes back to her house to detransform and retransform beore her timer counts down, and now that she is retransformed and Tikki re-fueled, they have no timer, though the Lucky Charm remains.
Then she moves onto the next school, a few blocks away.
Chat Noir shows up to stop her, enraged far beyond anything she would think reasonable or deserved, and it doesn’t take any effort at all to subdue him. She’s fought him too many times to ever lose to him. And without her there to stop him from making mistakes, he’s brash and bullheaded and wouldn’t know strategy if it hit him over the head. She tied him up with her yoyo and snaps his baton in half within thirty seconds flat.
And after thinking about it for a second, she reaches for his Miraculous.
Because Chat Noir is not the sort of person she can trust to help her, and this latest stunt is the straw the breaks the camel’s back. She could handle it when it was just her being affected, but now he’s putting the lives of everyone at risk, more blatantly than ever before, and that, that she cannot take.
For once in his life, Chat Noir does something intelligent.
Before she can grab his Miraculous to take it from him, he casts Cataclysm.
But unlike him, she isn’t on a timer. And he has no way of escaping.
It takes exactly five minutes for him to be forcibly transformed back, and yes, she’s surprised to see Adrien, but not as surprised or distress as she would have been if he hadn’t already shown his true colors. If all her friendly feelings towards him hadn’t already turned to burning hatred.
She takes the ring with ease, though he puts up a struggle, and the exhausted Plagg disappears into wherever Kwami go when their Miraculous isn’t being powered by a human soul.
She puts the ring in her yoyo rather than equipping it. Plagg deserves a chance to rest.
She leaves Adrien, crying, shouting, raging, there, in the ruins of a school whose name she doesn’t know, the sort of deathtrap he would sentence her and all of her friends and millions more kids they will never meet to, while he and his only friend, Chloe, had the privileged of staying home safe.
And she moves on to the next school.
And she doesn’t stop until every school in Paris is destroyed. And the only reason she stops when she gets to the invisible boundaries separating Paris from other nearby cities is that the sun is rising, and she’s tired, and she’s hungry.
She has time to go back home and sleep and eat.
The schools aren’t set to reopen for another three months.
The next day, there’s nothing to stop her from going out of Paris and destroying every school building she comes across, still with that first Lucky Charm, still with the ability to reset everything back to the way it was. But not yet.
And she finds, when she reaches the next city, that people have watched her, and taken her example to heart.
The civilians are already destroying the schools, so that they cannot be reopened. So that their children cannot be sacrificed and their blood used to oil the machine that is capitalism.
And it doesn’t take long before other cities, other countries, start doing the same.
Do not let the schools reopen in the middle of this fucking pandemic. If you are a teacher, principle, secretary, nurse, JANITOR, strike. If you are a student, protest. If you are a parent, keep your kids home.
Do what is right. Even if it’s scary. Even if you’ll get in trouble.
Guys I don’t normally post petitions, but if you can please sign. This is cruel. They are people to and deserve to be able to get the help they need.
The US has come up with a guideline that would deny people with learning disabilities and severe cognitive delays the right to critical care if they get the coronavirus.
This is a nightmare because this is how Hitler once began euthanizing the mentally ill in hospitals. This is how eugenics started. Please, please do one of the following to stop this guideline from continuing:
- Start a petition to the appropriate officials
- Talk with your local officials & share your concerns
- Share this post everywhere & make your friends & family aware of the issue. This is important.
Science fiction is full of first contact stories, but is there a such thing as LAST contact? Decide exactly what that means, and write about it.
I know the popular take is Batman's rogues getting their butts handed to them by Bruce Wayne, and I'm not belittling that, because that's really funny for all stated reasons?
But how about a new take: most of Batman's rogues call him off limits, because they find out he is their benefactor, when/if they try to reform?
Mr Freeze won't touch him because when he's in Arkham, Bruce is the one who finances the research to help Nora Fries.
Poison Ivy won't touch him because he had been the one supplying her with plants, while in prison.
Harley won't touch him because he's just a great guy an' gotham needs guys like that.
Riddler won't touch him because he was the secret backer that time Eddie tried to open a detective agency.
Croc won't touch him because he's one of the few people who ever talks to him like a person.
Deadshot refuses any hits on him because he found out Wayne does a lot of secret work for people down on their luck who made bad mistakes.
Pay them ppl man.
