“guys!” you were both snapped out of a trance as iwaizumi shouted. “i think it’s time to stop playing monopoly.”

Yes, everyone's dark knight in shining armor. Is known as "Master Diluc" and "Darknight_Hero" but his username is "Ragnvindr" because darknight hero sounds like a 12 year old roblox name.

Holding over 6 mil subs on both Youtube and Twitch — Diluc's got the heart of his subscribers and followers.

His channel mainly focuses on teaching his viewers mix drinks and gaming — which is everyone's favorite.

Even though he's a stoic and a calm man, he cares for everyone — forcing his viewers to sleep when he streamed too late or his streams is on a different time because ya know, time zones.

His gaming streams are really rare, sometimes playing games that his brother recommended to him but it's PRETTY RARE.

Get's really flustered when someone donated an edit of him — and his brother uses that against him.

One of his fan requested him to say the audio "Oh no! Our table, it's broken!" And he did that with no emotion.

Hmm Everyone's favorite menace — Childe! Also known as "Tartaglia" but people don't call him that cause it's "too long".

The rich, handsome, ultimate malewife that everyone wants.

His channel is mainly on PVP, games with murder, dark lore, and horror — also does a charity streams once in a while.

I kid you not — this man definitely plays Yandere Simulator, DDLC, Undertale and FNAF.

(also a whaler for genshin but that's for another story✋)

His streams are basically 'playing a random game while disturbing Diluc and Zhongli with Kaeya'

Charity streams are once in a year — often playing Minecraft while people spawn random mobs and things for him.

And yes! The horror games! Everyone likes his horror streams!

This man will take a good 1-20 seconds looking at the place and will instantly say "This place is in Inazuma!"

Has no face cam — this man is broke, and he uses his hot voice to gain more mora.

When he got enough mora for a face cam — he immediately did a YLYL challenge that is requested by his viewers.

His little laughs and snorts would make the chat go brrr

albedo.

ALBEDO wears a simple white shirt paired with a beige vest which compliments his hair and brings out the icy colour of his eyes, which fill with warmth upon seeing you in your stunning outfit. when you arrive at the venue, he's the date who gets you drinks and makes sure you're comfortable at all times. he takes you dancing, mentioning seriously that he's been looking forward to this and practicing ever since you became his lab partner in chemistry. his gaze meets yours, and suddenly confidence rushes through your veins and leads you to press a gentle kiss against his soft lips. the look of pleasant surprise on his expression makes your later embarrassment entirely worth it.

childe.

CHILDE wasn't even meant to be your date, yet here he is twirling you in the center of the room. as he pulls you into a grand dip, his breath caresses your ear when he murmurs, "they don't know what they're missing." rewind to an hour ago, when you saw your prom date kissing some other girl and almost burst into tears. thankfully, CHILDE, your childhood best friend who's stuck with you all the way into high school was there to comfort you, and he reassured you that your prom night will still be incredibly memorable. for the rest of the night, the two of you shared inside jokes, danced, chatted, and overall had the time of your lives. and if the night ended with you leaving a fleeting kiss on his cheek, maybe it just meant your prom night was a total success, with your formerly unnoticed feelings for CHILDE finally coming to light.

diluc.

DILUC is ready to go all-out for your prom night, he's spent weeks preparing himself to ask you, and when you agreed to be his date he was over the moon. with an endless supply of cash at his disposal, he had nothing to worry about - or so he thought. somehow, he seemed to have taken a leaf out of your junior bennett's book, as every possible thing that could have gone wrong, went wrong. the limousine he rented had a flat tire, wine stained his suit thanks to a clumsy drunk venti, the flowers in the bouquet he brought for you had wilted from the heat... the list went on and on. DILUC was about to give up and declare that the universe simply despised him when you burst into laughter. pulling him closer with his crimson tie that matched his hair, you nuzzle against his cheek, "having fun with you is more important than any of these gifts, silly."

eula.

EULA is dressed stunningly, and even that's the understatement of the century. with the lights flashing and the beat thumping through your blood, you can hardly form the words to invite her to dance after seeing her in an elegant midnight dress which hugs her figure perfectly. however, she seems to have let loose tonight after perhaps one too many drinks, as she smiles and accepts your invitation with only one proclamation of vengeance. but when you intertwine your fingers with her, leading her around the room in a peculiar fusion between a classic waltz and a modern dance, you swear you see pink dusting EULA's cheeks, a fact you're sure is mirrored on yours.

kazuha.

prom night with KAZUHA is barely spent in the large hall the school rented for your grade. after a few minutes wasted dawdling around the drinks table together, he grabs your hand and leads you out into a city with an enigmatic smile. with his hand in yours, you're sure you can conquer anything, and you'd follow him to the ends of the earth, even if it's just for tonight. this ends up with the wildest night you'll possibly ever have, from screaming offkey in karaoke rooms, jumping in puddles with neon lights reflected in their surfaces, reels of photos with silly faces from the two of you, KAZUHA almost getting into a bar fight at 2a.m. to 'defend your honour', lipstick stains on his neck and bruises from harsh kisses on yours. no matter what, at least you know tonight is unforgettable.

kaeya.

KAEYA spends at least a quarter of the time whispering compliments in a sultry tone, his hands roaming down your torso and clasping around your waist in a tight embrace. he can barely wrap his head around how someone as amazing as you agreed to be his prom date, and he'll be damned if he doesn't make the most of it. dressed in matching outfits, the two of you are unquestionably the hottest couple in the room as you sway on the dance floor. KAEYA's eyes never leave yours, though they occasionally dart down to your lips as if he's tempted to be reckless and close the gap between you both. surprisingly, you're the one who grows tired of this little tête-à-tête first, and you smash your lips against his, hands tugging on his cobalt hair. when he pulls apart, he's breathless, but he leans his forehead against yours with an overjoyed smile before stealing your breath once more.

xiao.

XIAO is incredibly awkward in the crowded room, and it's after two minutes of total silence, that he gains the confidence to pull you outside into the corridor. here, the surroundings are peaceful and quiet, not to mention secluded, as no one else deigns to exit the room. the privacy of the room prompts you to start a game of truth or dare, which starts wholesome in a slow dance around the area, but somehow ends up with XIAO shirtless, his white dress shirt discarded to the floor. no longer able to focus on the game, your eyes rove over the green tattoo snaking around his arms, and the tensed muscles of his toned chest. thankfully, the two of you lean forward at the same time, meeting in a wonderfully heated kiss that leaves sparks flying between both of you, your hands gripping onto his shoulders tightly as if you're scared he'll disappear. maybe XIAO fears the same of you, for he keeps one arm securely around your waist and the other tangled in your hair as he tastes your lips once more, and he swears there's nothing sweeter in the world.

yoimiya.

YOIMIYA asked you out to prom in a marvellous display of fireworks which illuminated the night sky outside your home, though nothing could compare to the brightness of her smile as she awaited your reply. after a showcase like that, who could say no? and right now, as you gaze at your date, you think to yourself that she actually looks like a firework herself, as her dress is decorated in blazing pops of vibrant colours - it suits her to a t. when YOIMIYA turns to you with an enthusiastic beam, querying what you'd like to do first, you find yourself mimicking her expression as a smile curves your lips too, "whatever you like, darling."

Alternatives to Self Harm

Alternatives for when you’re feeling angry or restless:

Scribble on photos of people in magazines

Viciously stab an orange

Throw an apple/pair of socks against the wall

Have a pillow fight with the wall

Scream very loudly

Tear apart newspapers, photos, or magazines

Go to the gym, dance, exercise

Listen to music and sing along loudly

Draw a picture of what is making you angry

Beat up a stuffed bear

Pop bubble wrap

Pop balloons

Splatter paint

Scribble on a piece of paper until the whole page is black

Filling a piece of paper with drawing cross hatches

Throw darts at a dartboard

Go for a run

Write your feelings on paper then rip it up

Use stress relievers

Build a fort of pillows and then destroy it

Throw ice cubes at the bathtub wall, at a tree, etc

Get out a fine tooth comb and vigorously brush the fur of a stuffed animal (but use gentle vigor)

Slash an empty plastic soda bottle or a piece of heavy cardboard or an old shirt or sock

Make a soft cloth doll to represent the things you are angry at; cut and tear it instead of yourself

Flatten aluminium cans for recycling, seeing how fast you can go

On a sketch or photo of yourself, mark in red ink what you want to do. Cut and tear the picture

Make yourself as comfortable as possible

Stomp around in heavy shoes

Hold ice in your hands, against your arm, or in your mouth

Run your hands under freezing cold water

Snap a rubber band or hair band against your wrist

Clap your hands until it stings

Wax your legs

Drink freezing cold water

Splash your face with cold water

Put PVA/Elmer’s glue on your hands then peel it off

Massage where you want to hurt yourself

Take a hot shower/bath

Jump up and down to get some sensation in your feet

Write or paint on yourself

Arm wrestle with a member of your family

Take a cold bath

Bite into a hot pepper or chew a piece of ginger root

Rub liniment under your nose

Put tiger balm on the places you want to cut. (Tiger balm is a muscle relaxant cream that induces a tingly sensation. You can find it in most health food stores and vitamin stores.)

Alternatives that will distract you or take up time:

Say “I’ll self harm in fifteen minutes if I still want to” and keep going for periods of fifteen minutes until the urge fades

Go for a walk if it’s safe to do so

Feel your pulse to prove you’re alive

Go outside and attempt to catch butterflies or lizards

Put your feet firmly on the floor

Accept where you are in the process. Beating yourself up, only makes it worse

Touch something familiar/safeLeave the room

Lay on your back in bed comfortably (eyes closed), and breathe in for 4, hold for 2, out for 4, hold for 2. Make sure to fill your belly up with air, not your chest. If your shoulders are going up, keep working on it. When you’re comfortable breathing, put your hand on your belly and rub up and down in time with your breathing. If your mind wanders to other things, move it back to focusing ONLY on the synchronized movement of your hand and breathing.

Give yourself permission to…. (Keep it safe)

Create a safe place for yourself and take yourself there

Lay on the grass and watch the clouds. You can try to make pictures with them too.

Light a candle and watch the flame

Alternatives that will hopefully make you think twice about harming yourself:

Think about how you don’t want scars

Treat yourself nicely

Remember that you don’t have to hurt yourself just because you’re thinking about self harm

Create a safe place to go

Acknowledge that self harm is harmful behavior: say “I want to hurt myself” rather than “I want to cut”

Repeat to yourself “I don’t deserve to be hurt” even if you don’t believe it

Choose your way of thinking, try to resist following old thinking patterns

The Butterfly project- draw a butterfly on the place(s) that you would self harm and if the butterfly fades without self-harming, it means it has lived and flown away, giving a sense of achievement. Whereas if you do self-harm with the butterfly there; you will have to wash it off. If that does happen, you can start again by drawing a new one on. You can name the butterfly after someone you love.

Write the name of a loved one [a friend, family member, or anyone else who cares about you] and write their name where you want to self harm. When you go to self harm remember how much they care and wouldn’t want you to harm yourself.

think about what you would say to a friend who was struggling with the same things you are and try to be a good friend to yourself.

Make a bracelet out duct tape, and put a line on it every day (Or any period of time) you go without self harm. When it’s full of lines, take it off and make a chain out of all the bracelets and hang it up somewhere where you can be reminded of your great progress.

Alternatives that give the illusion of seeing something similar to blood:

Draw on yourself with a red pen or body paint, or go to a site such as this, where you ‘cut’ the screen (be aware that some users may find this triggering, so view with caution)

Cover yourself with plasters where you want to cut

Give yourself a henna or fake tattoo

Make “wounds” with makeup, like lipstick

Take a small bottle of liquid red food coloring and warm it slightly by dropping it into a cup of hot water for a few minutes. Uncap the bottle and press its tip against the place you want to cut. Draw the bottle in a cutting motion while squeezing it slightly to let the food color trickle out.

Draw on the areas you want to cut using ice that you’ve made by dropping six or seven drops of red food color into each of the ice-cube tray wells.

Paint yourself with red tempera paint.

‘Cut’ your skin with nail polish (it feels cold, but it’s hard to get off)

Use red food colouring on your skin

Alternatives to help you sort through your feelings:

Phone a friend and talk to them

Make a collage of how you feel

Negotiate with yourself

Identify what is hurting so bad that you need to express it in this way

Write your feelings in a diary

Free write (Write down whatever you’re thinking at that moment, even if it doesn’t make sense)

Make lists of everything such as blessings in your life

Make a notebook of song lyrics that you relate to

Write a letter to someone telling them how you feel (but you don’t have to send it if you decide not to)

Start a grateful journal where everyday you write down three: good things that happened/ things that you accomplished/ are grateful for/ made you smile. Make sure the journal is strictly for positive things. Then when you feel down you can go back and look at it.

Xiao

He keeps telling himself that as an adeptus, he shouldn't show any type of weakness towards you, since he wants to be reliable and dependable in your eyes. He doesn't want you treating his wounds like he's as brittle as pristine glass. But seeing the genuine care in your eyes as you slowly lift his chin, shuts him up completely. "Just leave this to me, okay?" He nods obediently, closing his eyes as his pain gets drowned out by his loud, thudding heart.

Gorou

You might view that petting his head is a light-hearted action, but each time you ruffle his hair heartily with that smile of yours, he can't think of anything else besides what he's seeing. Seeing you laugh at the way his ears twitch and slowly burn red gets him back into reality. He gently pushes your hand away, coughing into his other palm with rosy cheeks. "Please stop it." He leaves the scene quickly, but his wagging tail tells you that he didn't mean what he said at all.

Albedo

The cool, calm and collected air that surrounds him tends to make people around him quite shy, so when his lover gets quite assertive, by either initiating kisses on his hand/neck, or pinning him onto a wall jokingly causes his brain to temporarily short circuit. He doesn't know to react properly, but he's quite intrigued on why you suddenly seem way more attractive than normal. And why is his heart beating faster?

Eula

"Quit staring." She scoffs, making her way to you in quick strides, but you laugh at her words. "Is it so wrong to admire such a beautiful being?" As soon as her ears received your response, she nearly tripped on her heels, but she quickly catches herself gracefully by taking your shoulders. When you ask her what's wrong, she glares right into your eyes, her orbs glimming with determination. "I will exact vengeance upon you by staring harder!"

Ganyu

Simply reassurance. The happiness she feels is no joke when you tell her that it's alright to eat qingxins when you're on dates, not wanting for her to feel uncomfortable about the food you bought. She clutches the basket of qingxins you got near her chest. "...thank you." Her head hangs low, hiding her redness from your sight as you laughed in response. "To be honest, I'd like to see you get a bit chubby." Her heads shoots up in response. "Eh??"

Ei

The raiden shogun is very aware of the fact that you don't enjoy being in her plane of euthemia, but the surprise in her face is evident when she gets a message from her puppet, saying that you insisted on wanting to visit her despite not liking the gloom atmosphere in her consciousness. The moment you enter, the skies in the dimension light up to a beautiful shade of blue and purple instead of a dark red, signaling you that she's indeed happy to see her lover again.

The battle between Jade Moon and Sapphire Gale has been going on for decades without end, stemming from when the Champion of Jade Moon has found out that the Sapphires had been stealing the Jade Mages.

Sapphire Gale is on the verge of defeat. With unyielding fortitude, obstinate in his mission, the Champion of Sapphire Gale sent the kingdom's Crown Prince to the neighboring kingdom of Eternal Iris to seek help.

Aether

The Crown Prince, Heir of the Sapphire Gale Champion, Diluc

Aether has been a close friend for as long as you can remember. He's an orphan taken in by Diluc when he was found in the middle of the war. You met him when you were both eight years old, and he's literally the first person you saw when you awakened from a comatose. Despite not remembering much other than the fact that you were rescued by the Sapphire Knights, you found out that you had a knack for magic, something that Aether had been in awe of. Despite having his own studies, he walks you to the Academia and visits whenever he can and is beyond stoked when Diluc eventually assigned you to be Aether's personal guardian. Since Aether's magical affinity is still far from unlocking its true potential, he's almost always asking you to showcase your magic. It's a friendship that has blossomed for years. Sometimes, he tells you about his other half, his twin, Lumine, who he had lost in the tides of war against Jade Moon. Because of this, he's more than vigorous to learn so by the time he takes over the spot of Sapphire's Champion, he is prepared to give justice for his sibling. Your closest confidant and vice versa. There are instances when you catch him staring a little too long and when you ask him why, he'd get pink and refuse to answer. Is incredibly, incredibly worried when the carriage en route to Eternal Iris has been ambushed by the Adepti. He has yet to unlock his magic so he's forced to stay on edge, back to back with you, with only a sword as his means of defense. Is at your side at all times when you're injured because of him and promises that there will be a time when he's going to be the one to do the protecting. All this promise and yet—when things go south and truths were revealed, you didn't expect the future strain that all but cut your bond with him.

Albedo

The Abstruse Mage in the Royal Court of Sapphire

This Mage seems to be timeless. He is an enigma through and through—and perhaps that is why you gravitate to him a lot. He knows for a fact that he's a mystery and doesn't shy away when people try to crack him like an undeciphered code. Despite being in the Royal Court, he studies at the Academia and has his classes specialized in healing and innovation. For some reason, he acts like an old spirit. Many other students say that befriending this particular Mage is difficult, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all because... he's personally approaching you? Oh wow. Albedo is one to be straightforward, so imagine your stupefy when he says that you are just as fascinating as he is and he can't wait to unravel more about you. The atmosphere felt a little eerie when he mentioned that. Almost like... he's aware of something that you aren't and he's implying that. He doesn't give you an answer when he's queried about this. When you're both studying, he seems to always eye the winged* mark on the back of your hand. Sometimes he will brush his hand over it as if he's testing something. How strange. Regardless of everything and despite his odd personality, Albedo is someone you are close to in the Academia. There are times when he covers for you when you're summoned in the Palace and is more than ready for you to copy his notes. Oh, and he's somehow always equipped with a potion from whenever your magic is acting up. *(The marks in this fic are literally the symbols in Genshin, dearies, so for Sapphire, it's the Anemo mark! For Jade, Geo, and so on and so forth ~)

Venti

The Whimsical Bard with Olden Ballads

This guy... is everywhere! Also quite the oddball. He looks young, but he isn't a Mage nor is he a student in any of the Academies be it for magic or the general public. He's not part of the Royal Court, but he's sometimes seen walking around the Palace. You hear that Sapphire's Champion, Diluc, is sometimes conversing with this person in his private study. But he's far from being an advisor. Weird. You met him at the plaza during an event, hosting one of Sapphire's music festivals. His interlude is one of the old songs, speaking out a story in the legends or one about the Archons. You dare not approach him, though, since he's rather busy entertaining the citizens. He is the one to approach you one night when you're running back to the Academia after getting word from Albedo about a potion he has messed up. The bard's stare whenever he sees you seems to be whimsical like he knew you from long ago, or perhaps he's likening you to someone? He tells you that you are who you are now, and the present defines you, nothing else. It's sudden, so you don't know what to respond. Venti appears to be there, always, whenever it feels like danger is right around the corner. He'll whisk you through alleys and even the underground. One time, you were falsely accused of harming a citizen with the use of magic and was being chased when he appeared to help you run away until the Royal Court gets wind of the situation. It is only one of the many times he has come to your aid. He's always there. Is he guarding you... ?

Chongyun

The Deviant Mage of Yang Descent

Chongyun is a Mage who specializes in purgation and charm casting, personally filed under the Royal Court of Sapphire. It's rather odd that he's in the Court but not in the Academia like Albedo. You're not particularly close to this Mage due to his behavior that's prone to change if there's a sudden shift in his magic, but he means well. You do not meet him until you faced a terrible problem with regard to your power. This problem has escalated to the point that you can't get out of it without punishment, and Mages' punishments are always stricter and harsher compared to the general public. If not for Aether's interference, you feared you would've lost your life. Chongyun becomes your mentor, surprisingly, since you expected Albedo. You find out that it's because this person's magical affinity is closer to yours than Albedo's, who has healing. This Mage is careful around you like he's afraid that he'll mess up something in your presence. It's almost cute. He tries his best to help you understand the anomaly in your magic and his room is literally open for you to come whenever you think you need his help. You may have overestimated him and decided to give friendship a shot. Chongyun's always blank-faced around others but lightens up—visibly might I add—when you're nearby. He looks a little queasy around Sapphire Knights. Oh, and you do not know why, but he treats you like you're royalty.

The King Regent of Jade Moon

Oh, you've heard all about the tyrannical King Regent across the border. It makes you wonder why the Sapphire Champion decided to steal his Mages when their relationship is already so strained. Aether says that he doesn't know the reason himself, but thinks that it has something to do with an unforgotten issue way back in time. Surely, the Mages weren't stolen just so that they'd be forced to prosper Sapphire, right.. ? You heard from him as well that Jade has lost its Champion in the middle of the war and its Archon is yet to choose the successor, so a Regent has stepped in to lead the forces. Unlike other Regents who opt to sit at the throne and command from their place, however, it's told by many that this Regent dives straight into the war himself. Many have fallen to death under his command and the Jade's famed Adepti working under him is no hearsay. You do not even want to meet this man in fear that he'll have your head. It is a miracle that he hasn't stormed past the Kingdom walls yet, but he is currently lacking in magic... still, the tides of war are tipping in his favor. Something about him is a little familiar, though. Lately, before you joined Aether in his travel to Eternal Iris, it's heard that the Jade Regent himself is leading the nth wave. Venti has told you one thing before you left with the Crown Prince. 'If you see him, you must run. He will stop at nothing to win this war.' But that has nothing to do with you.. ? He looked like he was about to say something else but held back. You wonder what it's about.

Xiao

The Vigilant Knight of the Jade Adepti

The Adepti is listed as one of the most threatening divisions to come across in the War. Since you are a Mage, you're drafted out in the frontlines before being granted the position of the Crown Prince's guardian. And dare you say, you're quite lucky during your drafting period because not once have you encountered the elite group. Under the command of the First Wind, Jean, you were always fighting at the right flank, far from the center of the war. It helps that you're quickly brought back upon orders of the Sapphire Champion, so even if you have experience out in the field—you haven't met the deadly group. That streak of luck isn't there forever, though. When the carriage has been ambushed and you're out in the open to fend off the enemies, you are beyond overwhelmed when the attackers are none other than the Adepti. Sent by the King Regent of Jade. Your magic at that time has been flicking in and out like a blasted candle flame, so that situation being hazardous is way understating things. You are strong enough to protect Aether, but enough to fend off the entire group. Fortunately, however, when this particular Knight came to strike you down, he paused. His jaded polearm is inches away from your throat but you can only look at how his gold eyes are flashing with multiple emotions at once. His hand is trembling and he's trying to say something, but you aren't sticking around to die. It's the opportunity you need to force the tidbits of your magic to kick into overdrive, grabbing Aether who had been gaping at another blonde before conjuring a swift spell to warp you both away from a good distance. A wandering Magnate has aided the two of you before the Adepti can get a kill count. The hiding lasted for days until Iris's borders are at long last reached. It is neutral territory, so the Adepti are forced to retreat. The Knight's masked face is looking at you before he, along with the rest, are gone.

Scaramouche

The Royal Advisor in the Eternal Court

You want to talk to the person who assigned this person as the royal advisor. First of all, why is the advisor always absent, leaving the Champion alone? You understand that Iris is in a state of neutrality, meaning there are fewer things to worry about, but the Kingdom is up and running! Second, he has zero respect! He's late when he wants to be late, thus preventing meetings from starting. When he does appear after you and Aether are welcomed in the Palace, he straight-up denies the plea for help without letting the Crown Prince finish—as if he has the final decision! This man is such a piece of work. He strolls around the Great Hall as if he owned the place and bickers back with venom when reprimanded. You don't understand how this Kingdom's Champion is actually friends with him, but you suppose there are oddities in Teyvat. You have never been so crossed with anyone your whole life. After the Iris Champion told you that their decision will be set in a few days' time—weighing out the pros and cons of disabling their neutrality—this man is all but pushing you and Aether out of the Kingdom's borders. He gets a talk with the Champion for a while following this and when he returns, he suddenly cannot look you in the eye. He is all over the place, grumbling, yelping, shouting- and it's such a comical sight if only your buttons aren't being pressed. What they talked about remains a mystery to you, but it did change how he acts. Because before you and Aether could leave, he's personally stopping the two of you, saying that the Adepti are seen camping past Iris's borders so it's only 'natural' to extend his Champion's good aid and let you both stay for the time being. 'Just so you two won't die and the rest of Eternal Iris won't have to answer to the damned Sapphire Champion, of course.'

Kazuha

The Prudent Champion of Eternal Iris

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear me this fine man. If there is eternity, you'll spend it with him- /kidding. Or are you? This Champion is by far, the kindest one you've met. No wonder Eternal Iris is a neutral Kingdom, who would dare want to infiltrate a peaceful place governed by a peaceful man? He is benevolent and sometimes a little too patient, but all that falls in the positivities of his character. A rather soft-spoken one, too, with flowery words around each and every sentence. Kazuha is one of prudence, always thinking of matters ahead and preparing contingency plans. It makes you think that he's well-suited to be a Champion, and even Aether looks up to him. First impressions have gone splendidly if not for his friend, the royal advisor who is always late in attending meetings. Whenever you'll tell the silverette to come and just start the meeting, he'll smile and say that it's better to wait. You and Aether don't understand his patience for the advisor but they're friends, after all, so you relent. You do not miss the way Kazuha stares at you like he's seen a ghost when you first entered the Iris Palace. Again, you do not know why. He's a chivalrous person and not once did he use his title as 'Champion' to his benefit. In fact, he sees you as an equal, although Aether whispers that he's treating you more like royalty—like how Chongyun does. Strange. After telling you and the Crown Prince to stay in the neutral Kingdom for a while lest the Adepti comes to ambush you again, Kazuha takes every opportunity to be a gentleman—and doesn't stop even if his advisor is screaming for him to cut it out. He's beaming silently whenever he gets to make you laugh. But why does he sometimes look guilty?

Itto

The General of the Infernal Assembly

You do not necessarily meet the man until you decided to survey the Iris's army since the decision to aid Sapphire is still under thought. The Infernal Assembly consists of a group with empowerments directly supplied from the Kingdom's Mages. Due to this, they are stronger than regular magic-less Knights. He's drilling exercise and exercise onto his men, screaming rather jubilantly about how doing it will strengthen and liken them enough to his level. He looks like someone who can go against the King Regent of Jade Moon. Unsurprisingly, he is a Mage who decides to imbue his magic into familiars, empowering his claymore and using brute force to pummel his way through. He meets you through clumsy sparring when his ginormous weapon is flung into the air—he's showing off—and almost knocked your head out if not for Kazuha's swift move to pull you away. Not only did the horned man—a side effect from being empowered by Mages—get a harsh scolding from the advisor (yes the advisor), but he's put on probation. Probation. Like a child. As if he's not the General. His men are laughing, an indication of his good bond with them, but he whips them back in shape. It turns out that this Mage, Itto, is stronger than he looks and is secretly Eternal Iris's trump card. Kazuha says that his power isn't something to underestimate since his bloodline is one filled with successful Mages. Also, during the course of your stay, you are the one meant to supervise him in his probation. Your guest privilege seems to have expired but you don't complain since Itto is honestly one of the best people you can be around with. On a few occasions, he somehow manages to drag you into pulling outlandish pranks on his men—and getting caught. He makes you forget that there is literally a war out there that can destroy your home. Ah, that's bad, isn't it.

Childe

The Magnate from the Palace of White Frost

Childe... why is he so far from home? He's a good conversationist, though sometimes you feel that he's eerie. You know that he's at Sapphire for business purposes but he's there as if the Kingdom isn't in the middle of a war. Granted, he doesn't stay there for too long. He's come to check on the Kingdom's magic reserves, apparently, and is there to offer some 'innovations' that will greatly cause an influx of magic. Just the right amount to make a stand against Jade Moon and win. You do not know how the business went since he's only speaking about it in detail with Sapphire's Champion, but he does come and visit you whenever he can. He tells you all about the Kingdom of White Frost and how it's a neverending winter there, but despite the eternal snow, the people are warm and loving. Childe gets nostalgic when he sees children in the orphanage and you find out that he has siblings. He says that he wants to help Sapphire win the war, both because it's a task and also from his personal sentiments. He's akin to a wanderer and has connections in almost every single Kingdom—truly, he's not someone to mess around with and get on his bad side. Childe is also the one who has stumbled on you and the Crown Prince mid-ambush from the Adepti, and whisked you two to safety. His skill in hiding is impeccable and you suppose it came from having to dart around and about the ongoing war. You get to know him more in those days of hiding before departing as soon as he gets you and Aether by the border, promising that he'll meet you again as soon as you're standing against Jade Moon.

𝔾𝕝𝕠𝕤𝕤𝕒𝕣𝕪:

ADEPTI ✤ An elite group of Knights, they personally act on orders of Jade Moon's Champion.

ARCHONS ✤ The Celestial Beings that look over their Kingdoms, they do not engage in wars themselves unless they deem it necessary, and are the ones who choose the Champions.

CHAMPIONS ✤ The Sovereign of a Kingdom. Rulers are always the Mages with the highest magical properties. More often than not, they go to war. They can be replaced whenever the Archons want. If they are alive whilst being replaced, the preceding Champion moves into the Royal Court where they can file into any division they want.

ETERNAL IRIS ✤ 'Inazuma'. A neutral Kingdom allied with the faraway Kingdom of White Frost.

FOUR WINDS ✤ Sapphire's division of the army. Each is led by one of the strongest Mages or Knights.

HEIRS ✤ 'Crown Prince' / 'Crown Princess'. Commonly, being an Heir means that they are the successors of the Champions, once again chosen by the Archon. There are instances when Archons do not choose Heirs, however, since it's not a necessity. Champions can choose their own heirs. But if this were to be the case, being an heir doesn't mean that they are next in line to be the Champion—because crowning and recognizing one is only the duty of an Archon. So instead, Heirs chosen by Champions are instead guaranteed a spot in the Royal Court. In terms of ranking, Heirs are the third most powerful, starting from Archons - Champions - Heirs. These can step in as Regents when a sovereign has faced an untimely death and the Archon is yet to choose the successor. INFERNAL ASSEMBLY ✤ A fighting division in Eternal Iris's Royal Court that oversees their Kingdom's elite Knights.

JADE MOON ✤ 'Liyue'. The most prosperous Kingdom due to its abundance of Mages. Also the land that waged an ongoing war.

KNIGHTS ✤ Cavalrymen. They lack magic but are not insufficient in the ways of their kingdom's blade.

MAGES ✤ Humans blessed by magic. Their abilities can range from cultivating the land to unleashing chaos.

MAGIC ✤ A rarity. Anyone can study about it but that doesn't guarantee that they will be blessed by magic. Despite learning about it, it is all for naught if one isn't blessed—the percentage of being given such power is a low 10%, hence the rarity of Mages.

MARKS ✤ The insignias of each Kingdom. Every citizen is born with one. These marks are classified into two, saturated and nonsaturated. Mages have colored marks, a sign of unlocked magic, and citizens' range from black and grey.

ROYAL COURT ✤ Includes the Kingdom's National Commanders, Judges, Advisors, and those that oversee the government. Mages and non-Mages make up the Court.

𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐔𝐂, despite his stoic and grumpy disposition, is quite affected by your lack of attention to him. He knows it's immature, but he wants you to smother him with your love. Diluc's been touch-starved for so long, and he's practically gotten addicted to your affection at this point.

So he'll do what he does bestーstare holes into your soul until you look at him. By the time you do, you nearly jump out of your skin. Diluc looks ready to commit homicide at a moment's notice.

When you finally give him a nice kiss on the cheek and hug him close, it's hard to tell the difference, but you can see the happy sparkles in his eyes. There's no visible smile on his face, but the way his eyes light up is enough to give away how happy he feels.

𝐙𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐈 may seem like he's not affected by your sudden lack of affection, but it later clicks in his head that you haven't given him your daily torrent of kisses. In fact, you haven't given him that much of your attention at all.

He surprises you when he suddenly just hugs you from behind, his arms practically swallowing your frame. The thing is, he refuses to let go, breathing in your scent, and let out content sighs, his deep voice slipping out on occasion with each breath. It's his way of being clingy and mopey.

You finally sit on his lap while you pepper his face with kisses, and tell him how handsome he is and how smart he is, and endless praises fall from your mouth, lovingly baby-talking him, and Zhongli eagerly eats it up with a content smile.

𝐃𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐈𝐅 has been touch starved for so long, and once he got a taste of your affection, he became addicted, wanting more of your kisses, but being too shy to ask for even a simple cheek kiss. So it quite obviously affects him if you haven't paid him any attention.

He'll stare at you, not breaking his gaze for anything, and won't stop until you turn to him. When you're walking about, he'll come from behind you and embrace you, tightly. He'll stay quiet for several moments, basking in your presence to fill up his attention gauge. When he does eventually speak, he softly asks you if he hurt you in any way, and you have to reassure him that he didn't anything wrong.

His stoic face, similar to Diluc, doesn't give away his feelings, however, there is a small smile upon his lips as you pepper his face with kisses while playing with his hair and letting out the occasional praise of how cute he is, of how handsome your Dainy is, and so on. He'll refuse to let you go for some time after that.

𝐀𝐁𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐄 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐀 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐄𝐍, 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐄𝐆𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃

𝐊𝐀𝐄𝐘𝐀 is a stinky and cunning bastard, he'll often talk, with you right there, about how mean and neglecting his s/o is, not giving him kisses or hugs, leaving him all alone and brokenhearted. You're so close to smacking him for being such a stinky smooth-talker.

He can and will blow hot air onto your ear, and pull away with a smug smirk as if he didn't just fluster the hell out of you. He'll continue this behavior, along with poking and prodding at you like it's nothing. Hell, Kaeya will even do the ' I'm not touching you ' just to see your reactions.

When you crack and eventually hold him close, Kaeya will have a very smug smirk as he hugs you back while ruffling your head. Don't try him, he'll just turn the tables on you. He knows damn well what he's doing after all.

𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐃𝐄 is quite the touchy and handsy young man, always having his hands on you, not caring who is watching. He loves having his hands all over you and is constantly giving you kisses as well. So he doesn't take it too well when you stop paying attention to him.

He can and he will drape himself on you, whining about how cruel and heartless you are, and clings onto you. He rubs his cheek against the top of your head as he squishes you close to him. Childe is acting likeーwell, a child.

When you get tired of his whiny ass, he will refuse to let you go, demanding payment for making him go through that hell. You deadpan at his demands, but go along with it as you ruffle his hair and press a kiss on his nose, while he eagerly smiles and soaks up the attention.

𝐓𝐎𝐇𝐌𝐀, similar to Childe, is also quite the touchy and physically affectionate man, loving the feeling of your skin against his hands. He loves holding your hand as well, as it lets him keep you close to him. Tohma also loves giving and receiving kisses as well, so you know that he's going to act offended should you not pay attention to him.

Tohma will act like a damn widow, fake sobbing and whining about how his s/o isn't giving him the love he deserves, and how they've neglected him so much. If you don't want the entirety of Inazuma to hear his whines, then you'd better drag his ass back inside. Even then good luck, since he'll continue to be a drama queen about not getting your attention.

You finally had enough of his whiny ass and kissed him, hard. Tohma was frozen for a very long time, even after you've pulled away. Then it slowly clicks in his head, and he starts getting redder and redder and hides his face in his hands. He refuses to look in your eyes and ends up being the flustered one instead.

𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐔𝐂𝐇𝐄 is such a brat about your affections; he'll hiss at you to quit it and swat you away, but later attempt to cling to you as you're busy doing your business. He may act like a brat but he's your brat, and he's the only one who gets your kisses. So he's pissed when you stop paying attention to him.

He'll give you the death stare the entire time you're not paying attention to him, and you're just deadpanning while he burns holes into your very soul. Archons forbid you to pay attention to anyone elseーhe's practically seething. Scara will march right over, and yank your hand and slap it onto his head.

You're pretty irritated because of how moody Scara is, but you just go along with it and begin to rub his head. His once irritated face has now turned into one of soft happinessーit's almost unnerving. But he's like a cute kitty, so you'll let him get away with itーthis time.

𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐒 𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐒𝐄𝐓

𝐀𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 is such a sweetheart that melts under your touch and kisses, and he lives for it. He also loves returning these affections as well, wanting you to know how much he loves you as well. But you really must not know how much he craves your affection because if you stop your affections, he gets antsy.

Aether is understanding if you're not in an affectionate moodーwork does take a toll on people so it's not far-fetched that you haven't kissed him in a while. But he starts to overthink, concerned if he did something wrong that upset you, and it starts to echo around his mind. So he begins to become more and more worried and has the saddest face everーlike a sad puppy.

You feel so bad that your lack of attention and affection hurt Aether in this way, so you spend a nice majority of time reassuring him and pressing comforting kisses all over his face. He's such a kind baby.

𝐀𝐋𝐁𝐄𝐃𝐎 isn't as physically affectionate or just affectionate in general as some would like, but you don't mind. You like giving him a kiss before he's off to his lab, and another to his cheek when you come to visit. He hums whenever you do so, as it feels nice and he appreciates the gesture.

At first, Albedo isn't all too bothered without the presence of your attention and affections. He does have the habit of staying up in his lab for extended periods of time after all. But if it continues, even with him being physically present, then he gets a bit salty. Not in a rude way, but more so that he just wants your attention after all that harsh lab work, and you're not sparing him a glance.

He's pretty blunt about it too, but even you don't fail to notice to subtle hurt look in his eyes. He's satisfied with your frantic answer that you didn't mean anything by it, but he won't leave until he gets your attention. You award him with a sweet kiss that lasts a few good seconds then pull away and smile.

𝐗𝐈𝐀𝐎 isn't all that familiar with affection, especially that of the physical kind. Particularly the hugs and kisses that you've introduced him to. Of course, you make sure that you're not pushing the yaksha beyond his limits and gauging how comfortable he is. He doesn't say it often, but he enjoys the gentle brush of your fingers against his cheek as you kiss the tip of his nose.

At first, Xiao just thinks that your lack of attention is just due to you being a troublesome human and seems to brush it off. But the longer he goes without your affection or attention, the more his thoughts begin to blame him. Xiao begins to wonder if he said something particularly harsh that hurt your feelings and begins to think that it's all his fault that this happened.

When you noticeーno, see how down Xiao has become, you worry that his karmic debt has become too unbearable today, so you begin to worry and fuss over him. When he finally tells you that it isn't his karmic debt, but rather, he thinks that he's pushed you away because you haven't paid him any mind. You blinkーonce, twice, before hurriedly reassuring him that it isn't his fault before you hug him close and kiss his forehead.

Xiao's pretty cute when he pouts like thatーcomplete with his blushing too.

𝐊𝐀𝐙𝐔𝐇𝐀 is such a sweet and kindhearted man, quietly accepting your physical affections with a soft blush adorning his cheeks. If you didn't know any better, you'd think that he'd almost purr, like a content cat. He rests his head on your chest as you play with his hair and whenever he wants to be embraced.

The ronin isn't visibly upset by the lack of your attention, as he keeps his usually emotionless expression on. But to those who know him best, they can see that after some time that he starts to look a bit dejected and sad without your usual kisses. He just looks like a dejected puppy at this point.

But he won't idle around, so he'll stride up to you, and softly ask if he did anything wrong, or if he hurt you in some way. You blink before you apologize for accidentally neglecting him, and offer to make it up to him. He perks up excitedly at the thought of getting lots of kisses and head rubs.

you got into a fight with aether that morning.

in hindsight, you feel terrible knowing that you just added more weight to his shoulders. he was working himself to the bone day in and day out, even if it was reluctant on his part. you could only watch as aether tightened his fists behind his back each time he was given a new task. even when you tried to lighten the load for him, he would brush you off with a half-hearted smile, mumbling his apologies into your skin whenever he got the chance.

something was wrong and it was only getting worse.

the morning it happened, you tried to stop aether from doing anything. you begged him to just sleep in for once -- to allow himself a moment to just breathe, even if it was for a second. when he refused, you became desperate.

"aether, i don't want you to hurt yourself out there!" you cried, frustrated tears forming on your lashes. "please just listen to me for once, i just--"

the traveler yanked his hand out of yours. he was fully glaring at you now, not a single ounce of mirth or kindness swimming in his golden eyes. it terrified you. "if you try to stop me from making progress one more time," he hissed, "then we're going to have to end this."

and that was the end of that. you gaped at his back as he left and couldn't muster up the courage to find him in fear of losing what little happiness you had left. you stewed in your indignation for the rest of the day until the sky began to crackle.

it was as if the air itself was laced with pure electricity. in the land of electro, that should have been a good omen, but to you, it only made your stomach drop lower than you have ever felt it. perhaps it was because you hadn't seen aether all day, but whenever supernatural things occurred, he was usually at the center of it all. you dropped what you were doing and let your feet carry you as fast as they could.

only the archons would know why you ended up at tenshukaku. when you saw the backs of the resistance as they waited on the steps, you sprinted over to general gorou, who grabbed your shoulders with thinly veiled panic in his eyes. "what are you doing here?" he asked, gently pushing you backwards. "if aether finds out that you're here--"

"he won't do a thing," you said, holding your ground. "something felt off, and now i'm here. you know i can fight, so at least let me help."

you were half-lying. while you possessed a hydro vision and could most definitely fight -- kazuha could attest to your skills -- that's not what you were there to do; you were there to collect aether and get him to safety. gorou eyed you warily. you could tell he was trying to figure out whether or not he should let you stay.

it was no secret that you were the legendary traveler's most important person; unfortunately that title preceeded you. you hated that people thought aether was your knight in shining armor. you were just as good a fighter as he was, and the only reason he'd made it this far was because you had his back. you didn't flinch as gorou scanned you closely before he sighed.

"fine," he let go of you and pointed to the entrance to tenshukaku. "we're on standby. stand at the front by kazuha and be ready. clear?"

"crystal."

after taking your position beside kazuha, you didn't have to wait much longer. you were right to be on edge; the sky became impossibly dark over the shogun's residence, and the thunder threatened to deafen you. you saw kazuha flinch and cover one of his ears with a hand beside you. before you could check on him, gorou suddenly gave the order to advance. you're confused, but you obey.

you see him at the top of the stairs. he's staggering as he makes his way out, but he looks relatively unharmed. you release a breath you didn't know you were holding and open your mouth to call his name, but as soon as you do, the hairs at the back of your neck stand at attention.

you will never be able to explain what you saw that day.

you'd heard of the musou no hitotachi in stories, but never in your life had you ever thought you would see it before you like this. reality itself seemed to tear apart before your very eyes, revealing nothing but an ominous violet eye. it's quickly replaced by the raiden shogun, who lunges out of it at breakneck speed. the soldiers around you are stunned into silence as they watch who the shogun is aiming for.

no. no, no, no, no.

she's aiming for aether.

she's going to kill aether.

things go blank after that. maybe your body moved purely on instinct and mind-numbing adrenaline, because really, everything is a blur.

you hear kazuha's choked gasping until suddenly it's not there anymore. you're not there anymore. you don't exactly know when and how you got here, but you've shoved yourself between aether and the shogun's blade, taking the full force of her attack.

there's so much to feel in this moment. part of you recognizes the feeling of raw power and determination; the very same sensation you felt the day you received your vision. you dimly, very, very dimly feel aether's mortified stare burning holes through your skin. if you had the chance, you'd laugh at how stupid he must look.

but the most obvious thing you feel is pure agony.

you were quick to activate your vision to somehow soften the blow of the shogun's blade, but as everyone with common sense knows, hydro and electro don't mix. and as expected of the electro archon, her strikes are powerful -- your arms rightfully feel as though they're going to fall off.

they can't. you know that that's no longer your decision to make, but if you fall here -- if you lose this stand-off -- who will protect aether? who will love him in your stead? with a sharp cry, you pour all your strength into pushing the shogun's blade up and away from your body, ignoring the way you can feel blood starting to soak your hands. perhaps the hydro archon took pity on you, because you successfully parry the raiden shogun's blade.

there's no time to celebrate. immediately, the shogun's shocked expression smooths itself out and she lunges again -- for you, this time. she'd clearly done it with intent to kill, because you barely managed to block the strike, and the strength of it sent you flying back down the stairs, where the resistance soldiers barely managed to catch you.

after that... well, you don't know what happened after that. when you come to, you're laying in an unfamiliar futon bed. you blink rapidly, groaning when the sunlight nearly blinds you. to say that you're in pain would be a vicious understatement. your arms are stiff and numb, your ears are ringing, and every breath you take feels like someone is cutting at your insides with each inhale.

you cough, wincing at the metallic taste in your mouth. the events in front of tenshukaku plays out once more in your head, and you groan again, louder this time. intervening and basically stopping the musou no hitotachi would be a fun story to tell people once you've recovered, but as of right now, you feel nothing but regret.

the regret is quickly replaced by relief, though. because at the end of the day, you managed to save aether's life. surely, you tell yourself, he retreated with the resistance after that incident. you smile bitterly as you remember the argument you had before. maybe he hates you for getting in his way like that, but you could make peace with that; so long as he's alive then--

"you're awake! traveler, they're awake!" a high-pitched voice cuts through the persistent ringing. you can't move your neck too much, but you manage to turn enough to see who yelled. it's paimon. she's frantically looking between you and the sliding door. "paimon's so glad you finally woke up!"

"finally?" you croak. "what are you--?"

a pair of footsteps stops near paimon before there's a soft thud and a sudden weight on your torso. you crane your neck up a little to get a better look at your visitor. as soon as you spot golden hair, your lungs close, forcing you to cough.

"oh, paimon will go get water! paimon'll be right back!" the little fairy disappears into her cloud of stars. she returns quickly and helps you sit upright to drink the water, but makes the sudden decision to leave you alone with aether.

the silence is so loud.

you have no idea what to say to him. the last time you'd spoken, he was threatening to break up with you. you were already prepping yourself for the post-break up healing process, so why..?

"it's been three weeks." aether finally speaks. he looks up at you, his eyes red-rimmed and watery. was he... crying just now? "you were asleep for three weeks."

wow. there's a lot to unpack. you say the first thing that comes to mind.

"why are you," you pause for a second to cough, "here? i figured you'd break up with me."

aether grimaces. you wonder what's going through his head. you continue: "if you still want to break up, then..." you suddenly feel a new pain blossoming in your chest. it brings you to tears faster than any cut ever could. "i won't stop you, i--"

"you wake up from a three week long coma after saving my life and you think i'm just going to dump you?" aether looks horrified by your words. stray tears drip from his eyes. "i visited every single day after--" he chokes up. "after what happened. i'm sorry; i shouldn't have been so mad at you, i know you were just looking out for me, and i-- archons, this is all my fault--"

you cut him off then. "aether, i saved your life because i wanted to." you rasp. breaking up or not, the fact remains that you are wholeheartedly in love with the traveler from beyond the stars. you would do it again in a heartbeat -- suffer the same wounds over and over and over if it meant that he got to live another day. "i did what i did because i love you; no other reason."

aether sniffs and avoids eye contact. you can tell him it's not his fault all you want, but that probably won't change a thing for him. you can't convince him otherwise either -- not in this state. you're bruised, battered, and numb; you're not in any position to tell him to stop worrying. but that won't stop you from trying. "c'mere." you beckon him over.

he does as you say.

"a little closer."

he's a few feet away now.

"just a liiiiittle closer, c'mon."

aether hesitantly obeys. he's close enough that you can feel his shaky breathing. you rest your forehead on his, suppressing a hiss of pain from the movement.

"i love you." you whisper. you can sort of see him flinch. "i'm glad you're okay."

there's a long pause before aether chuckles shakily. "that's my line," he whispers back. "i'm sorry. i'm so, so sorry. i don't know what i can do to make it up to you, i--"

"don't do anything," you interrupt. "i don't want anything from you. just stay alive; that's all."

aether sighs. "...that's all?"

"that's all."

despite being one of the most level-headed people you have ever met, kazuha somehow also manages to be one of the most reckless.

granted, he almost always had a reason, but that didn't change the fact that you developed a fear that his recklessness would get him killed someday.

it didn't help that kazuha used his anemo vision to his advantage each time, channeling the element to boost his speed whenever he needed it. you sometimes wished you could hide it from him, but it was obvious why that was a terrible idea.

as a compromise, you decided to aid him in his ventures. you figured that so long as you were present, you could, at the very least, pull him out of danger at the last second; your own electro vision granted you enough speed to match him at times. you relied on your own battle prowess to keep up with your boyfriend -- something he greatly appreciated.

because the last thing you would ever do is clip the wings of someone like kazuha. you may as well be the updraft that keeps him in the air.

the fact remains, however, that you will lag behind him at times. kazuha is trained to be quick -- to avoid the eyes of others. his quick thinking is what usually leads him to victory most of the time, even in a pinch. so sometimes, you don't even get the chance to help before he's finished the job.

"you're too fast, kazuha," you panted one day after training with him. "what if you get hurt?"

kazuha hummed, tapping the hilt of his katana. "what guides me through battle is not the possibility that i may fail, but that i will succeed without a scratch."

you frowned at him. "and what if i can't be there to help you when you need it the most?"

bandaged fingers hooked themselves under your chin gently, tilting your head up. kazuha leaned in and kissed you with all the gentleness of a passing breeze. "you are always with me," he said. "and if i may be completely honest, i would much rather be hurt than watch you injure yourself on my behalf."

you couldn't say anything to that.

all you could do was hone your skills.

if you were faster, stronger, more agile, maybe you could keep up with him -- surpass him, even. kazuha thought your desire to be better than him was endearing, but he accepted the challenge. he trained alongside you as often as he could, and you found that you started to make progress.

you were quicker during hilichurl ambushes and fatui run-ins, but if neither of you broke a sweat, you felt it didn't count. you somewhat longed for the day you could completely protect kazuha with your new skills and brag about how much better you were.

when you got your chance, however, your self-imposed competition was the last thing on your mind.

to bear witness to the musou no hitotachi was an honor, especially as a citizen of inazuma. especially as an electro vision holder, you felt as though you could someday produce something of your own -- something as legendary as the raiden shogun's musou no hitotachi.

it was a childish dream, but vision holders are, after all, known for their ambition.

your heart all but stops as you watch the raiden shogun target the blonde traveler. you'd grown close to him during his time here, and whenever you weren't training or helping the resistance on the front lines, you were asking him how you could help him find his lost sister. he opened up to you and you to him, and you thought it safe to say that you'd found a truly close friend in him. but as he -- and the rest of the resistance -- looked death straight in the face, you found yourself paralyzed.

this wasn't what you trained for. this wasn't what you dedicated all your time to. you were supposed to be like the very lightning that you commanded and yet here you were, as stagnant as the air you breathed.

move. move!

a sudden gust of wind from your left nearly knocks you to your feet. you finally get your body to move, hoping to see what just happened. you don't see what produced that wind, but you immediately know who.

you whirl around to see kazuha resisting the shogun, his own blade suddenly looking flimsy as he tries his hardest to push it back. your stomach threatens to rid itself of it's contents when you notice the electro vision glowing beneath his own. somehow, kazuha managed to reactivate tomo's vision and is using both to save the traveler.

it's enough to startle everyone, even the shogun, but it's not enough.

while he does successfully manage to push the shogun back, he also succeeded in making himself a target. again, the shogun strikes, this time he sword aimed right for kazuha's chest.

you're actually not sure how you managed to get there in time. kazuha did it with the help of two visions, but you? you only had the one. perhaps it was all the electricity in the air that came to your aid when you needed it the most. you felt as though you became a stray bolt of lightning for a split second, rushing in front of kazuha in the nick of time.

as for the plan? there was no plan. you just knew you needed to keep kazuha safe. that's been your main goal for months: to keep kazuha alive. you force yourself between kazuha and the raiden shogun's blade just in time, but you don't bring your blade up in time to send it away. you barely hear kazuha's shattered cry of your name before your world begins to warp itself. after that... you don't remember what happened very well.

you're suddenly forced back down the stairs with kazuha, but you don't exactly know how you got there. there's screams and battle cries coming from every which direction and you can just barely make out the figures of the resistance soldiers advancing on tenshukaku, but only one voice stands out.

"...no, no, not again, not again!"

it's kazuha, you realize. even as your consciousness fades, you hear him yelling your name.

when you come to, the first person you see is gorou.

he's leaning on the wall with his arms crossed and eyes closed, his ears flicking every so often as he listens for any signs of trouble. the haze of your mind doesn't clear itself completely, but you squint at him, wondering why he's keeping watch over you. gorou's ears suddenly go completely still and his eyes fly open, fixing themselves on you. "you--"

"uh, good morning?" you wince at the sound of your voice.

gorou blinks a few times. you can't see it from here -- there's too many painkillers in your system for you to make sense of anything -- but his tail begins to wag upon seeing your face. "don't strain yourself," he calls as he exits, "let me go get the healers."

after an extensive check-up and another strong dose of painkillers (since apparently, hydro healing wasn't enough), you think yourself ready enough to ask questions -- ones that gorou hesitates to answer.

he reluctantly informs you that the raiden shogun's blade went straight through you. she was visibly shaken by your sudden presence -- apparently, it must have been because she had intended to kill someone, but it certainly wasn't you. the traveler took advantage of her distraction and rushed her as soon as you went down while kazuha sought medical attention for you as quickly as he could. the doctors said you were lucky that the shogun's blade was fashioned out of pure electro energy. the wound seemed to cauterize itself after being formed; at the time you were impaled, you mostly fainted out of shock. you were severely -- almost fatally-- injured, but you survived.

gorou had a strained smile when he told you everything, his eyes dropping to your bandaged torso.

"in all the time that i've known kazuha," he said, "i've never seen him so shaken before."

you don't ask what that means. instead, you find out firsthand.

after teasing gorou for a few minutes about his constantly wagging tail, he leaves again, presumably to go back to work. he and kokomi must have their hands full after the incident. you lean your head back on the wall and shut your eyes to pass the time, but your peace doesn't last long. your nose suddenly twitches and you open your eyes.

it's kazuha. he's okay.

rather than focus on how he looks, you're preoccupied with the fact that he's standing before you at all. tears of relief spill over almost immediately. "hey," you greet him breathlessly. "how are--"

"are you an idiot?"

what?

"i-i'm sorry?" you barely manage to get the words out. kazuha's voice doesn't sound like it belongs to him. it's rough and abrasive; it's everything he's not. you try to convince yourself that maybe he just needed water or something. that has to be it, right? "what did you say?"

kazuha finally looks you in the eyes but you feel like you're looking at a stranger. his crimson stare is frigid and unforgiving. it's a look that's reserved for people who cross his path -- not you. you jaw shuts with a soft click as he speaks again. "i asked if you were an idiot." his fists tremble at his sides. "you must be, if you were willing to throw yourself in harm's way like that."

is he... is kazuha upset with you? this wasn't the first time you've taken the brunt of his frustration, but your stomsch drops as you suddenly wonder if this would be the last. "i put myself in danger every day, kazuha; what made yesterday any different?"

"yesterday?" kazuha treats the word as though it's offended him personally. "you think that that happened yesterday?"

"yes..? kazuha, where are you going with this--?"

"it's been two weeks." his voice wavers. you see vulnerability creep up on him, nearly bringing him to knees. the knowledge that you've been unconscious for two weeks doesn't shock you (no pun intended) as much as you thought it would considering the severity of your injuries, but it seems that saying it out loud was enough to crack kazuha's entire being. he's lost his usual manner of speech, switching it out for something more straightforward.

"well," you gingerly slide your hand over your abdomen, wincing when you touch the bandaged area, "i'm fine now, so--"

kazuha's beside you in an instant, his fingers locking around your wrist. he's still as swift as the wind he commands. you don't have the strength to pull your hand back, but you whimper quietly when his grip tightens. he lets go immediately. "fine? you call this," he gestures at your body, "fine? you almost died, and you--" kazuha fixes his eyes on your lap. "you think everything is fine?"

clearly, you've misspoken. you don't get to apologize.

kazuha continues, pushing a hand through his hair. "do you have any idea what it's like watching the one you love die before your eyes?"

you don't answer. guilt wires your jaw shut. kazuha's fingers twitch in place. by now, he would've grabbed your hand as means of grounding himself, but he looks almost repulsed by the ides of touching you. almost as though he's afraid of you.

"if you came to my aid because of that foolish challenge, then you're the biggest idiot i have ever known." he grumbles. "if you saw me handle the shogun once, you should have trusted that i would have made it out of there unharmed."

"it's not you i didn't trust, kazuha." you finally find your voice. you don't feel as combative as you sound, but admittedly, you're frustrated by the way kazuha seems to have twisted your motive for doing what you did. "if you were in my position, would you honestly believe that the shogun wouldn't have killed me on the first strike? do you think i help you because i want to be better than you?"

your hackles rise as soon as you finish your sentence. does he really think that little of you? were you alone in your feelings this entire time?

"why else have you been so eager to improve?"

"because i love you, kazuha." your confession is heartfelt, but it lacks the feeling behind it. your body heats up as indignation begins to boil over. "you're not just some rival, you're my lover." you lower your voice. "or at least i thought you were. perhaps i was mkstaken."

that gets kazuha's attention. his eyes are on you in an instant, his expression crumbling. "no, that's not what i--"

"to my knowledge," you hold up a hand, cutting him off, "lovers do what they can to protect each other, even if it meant puttting themselves in grave danger in the way i had. so forgive me for using my new strength to keep you safe -- i didn't realize it would upset you so much."

kazuha grabs your hand and reaches out, cupping your face gently with his free hand, his thumb stroking your cheek. "dove, please, that-- i was just-- i thought i was going to lose you."

you lean into his touch despite yourself. you've never been able to resist him, even when you're furious with him like this. "i thought the same, kazuha," you whisper.

there's a tense silence. the two of you were well-aware that your biggest issue was your overwhelming concern for one another. you knew how deep your love ran for him, but perhaps kazuha underestimated just how far you would go because of it. it's reassuring, knowing that he's not genuinely mad at you, but you can't deny how much he's hurt you just now.

as if he can read your thoughts, kazuha sighs, breaking the silence. "forgive me, my star." he leans forward, pressing his lips to your forehead. he sounds like the kazuha you fell in love with all over again, his words coated with the sweetest honey. "i was out of line. i was just--"

"worried?" you finish his sentence. kazuha nods when he pulls back, his eyes downcast. you think he looks a little like a scolded child. the corners of your lips twitch. "i know all too well how that feels, kazu'. i understand."

"i thought... that you weren't going to wake up."

"i know."

"i thought i was going to be alone again."

there it is. the root of the problem. you hold your other hand out and kazuha takes it, pressing your knuckles to his forehead with a shaky breath. you give a moment to himself. it seems like he's committing your skin to his memory; solidifying the fact that you're really here -- that you didn't leave him behind. the very thought of doing so scared you almost as much as it did him.

"i'm not going anywhere, kazuha." you say. you feel him squeeze your hands tightly. "i'm right here. i always will be."

kazuha doesn't respond for a second. he doesn't move, but you notice his shoulders are shaking. "kazuha--"

"you know," he chuckles, his voice shaking, "i actually can't think of any poetic ways to express my love for you. can you believe that?"

you blink a few times before snorting. "it's a welcome change."

"you wound me, angel." kazuha looks up at you then. his eyes are teary, but none fall. "i love you. thank you for staying alive."

it's spoken like a prayer, soft and reverent. you smile. "i love you too, kazuha. more than you'll ever know." you pat his cheek and he holds your hand in place, pressing fleeting kisses to your palm. "'till death do us part, kazu'."

kazuha hums in agreement. "'till death do us part."

You couldn’t get over how amazing this traveling hero was and how cute he was as well, you didn’t even know his name but you still felt like you could go up and help him out with whatever's going on. Currently gushing about him to your friends in Liyue, hanging next to some stairs all scattered about and laughing at your blushy face, teasing you for being so in love. “You don’t even know his name! What if he’s just putting up an act?! What then?!” Shaking your head and starring out into the harbor, “I don’t care that I don’t know his name. He’s not acting, I can tell. From what I’ve seen he just wants his sister back, he would never hurt someone. He’s kind and caring, and more selfless than he should be.”

They all looked at you trying to lighten the mood by asking you what would happen if you met him and what your ideal date would be, all you wanted was to talk to him and help him find his sister. Yes, part of you wanted him for yourself but if it meant him being happy then so be it. You brushed off their comments and stood up, brushing off your clothes and waving them off before teasing them and having them chase after you. “Oh yeah? Come on! After all that teasing it’s more than fair!” Smiling brightly with no care in the world and ran down the steps, carefully to not slip while full of adrenaline.

What you didn’t know what that Aether was coming down from a meeting with Zhongli about Inazuma and its archon, he’d seen you around and you had helped him with the missing posters and with the service. He didn’t expect to hear you singing his praises and defending him so plainly, respecting his goal and what he did. You were beautiful and so kind, when he first met you Paimon teased him for zoning out for a second. Aether heard Paimon laugh at his red cheeks and he leaned against the railing as he processed your confession, replaying your laugh and smile in his mind. Guess his secret crush liked him back.

The fear in him is real. It seems endless, all this looking around for his sister. Adding you going missing into the mix, it was like torture. Like an endless spiral down into an endless hole.

“Aether? It’s just a hypothetical question, you don’t have to think about it too mu–” you were really just blurting out thoughts and nonsense.

He pulls you in for a hug, one arm tight around your waist and the other behind your head. “Please don’t” he whispers. “I don’t have anything else,”

He’ll become a shell of himself if you disappear. He’d look for you, but he’ll shed tears every night.

ZHONGLI is steadfast as a rock and would be rather difficult to fluster despite great efforts. He’d crack a smile or two, admiring the beauty of your actions, but you’ll never win from the toughness of his shell.

“You’d like to brush my hair?” his voice was laced with confusion before he chuckled, “Well, who am I to deny such a gracious request from my beloved?”

Silence filled the room yet both of you relished on the tranquility of each other’s presence, the scent of the tea you two had still in the air, and the crickets of the night sang to further fill in the harmony of the evening.

The brush skims through his thin, long strands that didn’t seem to have that much need. Yet despite it, you made sure that nothing was left uncovered, leaving no regrets behind. By the time you finished, his eyes flutter open as he turns to you, a soft smile on his lips. He then reaches towards your cheek before he says, “I did not know such a simple thing could put my mind to ease, thank you, beloved.”

XIAO is wary, slow to open up, could stretch his wings and fly away when he feels threatened. It was night when the dark enveloped the depths and crevices of the yaksha’s heart, creeping in and soiling his already lost core. His karma—you were no strangers, you knew.

“Xiao, I’m here,” you whisper as his words pushes you away, his body stiff under your embrace, fingers on the strands of his hair. His system was shutting down, almost getting sucked in by darkness when he felt it. The way you caressed his hair still, his scalp and dark locks locks soothed by the tips of your fingers, as if pulling him from the gloom of his debt.

He breathes in as if he hadn’t all his life, panting hard as if vision clears, sight regained as he realizes he was in your room, your house. Not in Wangshu, but with you.

“Are you back?” you looked at him for a minute, and he saw the tears that were in the corner of your eyes, now falling down when you were able to confirm that he was coming to, a smile—the most beautiful smile he had ever seen—forming on your lips before you pulled him in another embrace.

“You’re back. You’re back, Xiao. I thought I lost you,” you say. He was breathing normally by the time he raised his own arms to wrap them on your waist, letting himself return your affection.

“You saved me. I am in your debt, Y/n.”

VENTI’s body is not his own. His face, his hands, his eyes, his hair and everything else is not one that was fated to him—for him. He didn’t particularly paid much attention to his desires. He was no one before you came into his life.

His giggles echoed in the room as you untangled the braids of his hair, the bluegreens coming into life at the softness of your touch.

“So brave of you to ask, my windblume,” he muses, to which you lightly slapped the back of his shoulder while chuckling.

“What? Don’t be shy now,” he teases grinning in fromr of the mirror with his hair now untied and let down.

Despite tt all, he’d be silent throughout the process, a soft smile playing on his face, yet still silent. You could tell he was savoring the moment of being taken care of, his muscles and body at ease.

His body was not his own, but with you here, every moment makes him feel like it was his all along.

THOMA had always thought of others before himself. He does not also have the time to do so, anyway. Thus when you came and changed his entire routine, it was then that he realized how much effort he puts onto others before, and with you by his side, he was slowly starting to appreciate and be selfish of the attention he had neglected from himself.

“That feels good,” he says as he lets you rub your fingertips on his scalp, your digits on his strands, “You’re so good to me, you know.”

He cracks one eye open and he reaches for your hand, placing a kiss on it for a little while before closing his eyes once again. Such a sweet man, he is, he doesn’t even know how much your heart skipped a beat and your breath halted at such a simple action.

SCARAMOUCHE would kill with the daggers of his gaze—or literally—before anyone could even touch him. Yet, like many other time, you remain his one and only weakness.

And he doesn’t know if he despised it or loved it.

“What are you-” he halts, his mouth pursing shut as you continued to brush his hair with your palm, smiling as you compliment him on how smooth it was. You chose to ignore the blush that appears on his cheeks as he continues to stare at you, forcing himself to narrow his eyes at your form; his hat on your head, a pleased look on your face. It was a good thing no one was there around both of you or else he might have dug his own grave by letting you pet his head and hair delightfully.

“I’m not a pet, Y/n,” he frowns—pouts, actually. But despite this, you could tell how much he liked it with how he doesn’t push you or your hand away.

Soft as a feather. It was natural of KAZUHA to always compliment your beauty beyond his—you’re the priority, When you offered to do his hair one particular time, he was ready to say no. Yet he knows those sparkles and glitters in your orbs, begging him to say yes, thus he did, chuckling with a “Of course, whatever you wish, my dove.”

He remains silent as you carefully brush his hair first, asking him every now and then if it hurts every time you straighten up the knotted strands of his light hair with a whisper. It warms his heart, how much you care, how much you love. By the time you finished combing snd tying his hair on his usual style, he suddenly turns around and grabs your hand, placing a kiss on each of your knuckles before standing to his feet and pressing his lips on yours.

“Thank you,” he whispers next to your skin, “you never fail to amuse me, dove.”

KAEYA has too many secrets to hide. The gravity of his sins couldn’t even compare with those that seemed visible to the eye.

When you touch his hair, you were touching his heart, his core, his soul. He wants to pull away, to never let anyone see his vulnerabilities and fragilities. Yet you, you have something in you that makes him feel… free.

Freedom’s such a heavy word, even from him who supposedly hails from Mondstadt. With your lips, he love; with your hands, he care; with your touch, he submits. You broke him out of the frozen confines of his heart, made him breathe through the air of this so-called love.

“Kaeya? Does it feel good, hun?” you asked him, and he looks into your eyes and tells the truth.

“Of course, sweetheart,” he smiles at you, “Everything you do for me is good.”

Due to his natural instincts, GOROU feels your touches with an intensity. Just merely having your fingers caress and run through his hair makes his muscles instantly ease to the touch. He accidentally lets out a few hums or moans especially since his guard was down, only to let it back up as he consciously looks around, cautious of having anyone else around.

You giggled as you gently pat on the back of his head, halting the soft attack on his hair and ears for a little while, letting the poor boy rest and take a breather, “Don’t worry, no one but me will hear you.”

“This is embarrassing,” he hides his face on the crook of your neck, but remained having his arms around you and legs propped on either side of yours—seated on your lap, actually.

“Don’t be, baby,” you purr, “I’m just pampering you for a little while. So just relax, hm?”

DILUC shielded himself from anything else, anybody else. Deflected any other care towards him and as a result, he wasn’t used to such kind of affections.

“You don’t have to,” he says as you prompt him to sit down in front of the mirror, eyes telling how much it’s not something he does not do often—ever, probably.

He remains quiet for a long while, you won’t even know if he liked if or not until you two were about to slip on the bed, suddenly feeling him hug you from behind and kissing one of your temples as he held you there for a little while.

“Would you like this to be a recurring habit every night?” he whispers, quite hesitatingly but still letting it out, “It appears you took pleasure on it, I don’t mind if you’d want to keep it that way starting from now.”

CHILDE is a wildfire, despite his wave-like strength. Yet there are times when he’s magntized by the force of your peace, and this is was one of those times.

You were taking off his mask, helping him out of pure routine when he comes home. By the time you successfully do so and had the item placed somewhere else, he takes a hold of your hand before pulling them up to his hair once again.

“Why?”

“Can you do that again?” he inquires with a shy smile.

You could only furrow your brows as you then realized what he was referring to, a smirk forming on your lips, “Want me to caress your hair?”

He pouts and he seemed to want to say no but he sooner nods, pulling you from where you both were until he plops on the couch, while letting you sit on his lap.

“Please? I’m so tired from work,” he whines, snaking his arms on your waist and settling his head on your shoulder, not before pressing a gentle kiss on it first.

AYATO‘s hair is like silk, woven by the greatest seamstresses of Inazuma, He lets you brush them since you seemed to have been wanting to—you confessed it to him, actually, by the time you two had gotten together.

He lets you do whatever you want with them; through braids, ponytails, or maybe even a bun. You let him take care of you, thus he lets you do the same to him. Actually, he’d let you play with his hair while he’s doing his work. “It calms me down,” he says, referring to the way your fingers run over his hair, your fingertips teasing his back or his shoulders or the back of his neck, brushing onto them accidentally.

ALBEDO couldn’t understand the pleasure of having their hair touched by someone—being taken care of, actually. Such a confusing topic that he can never relate to until it happened to him—you happened.

He felt it; how his shoulders eased, a sigh falling out of his lips, his back leaning to where you were behind him, and it was as if the world had gone and you and him were the only ones left. When you proposed to take a bath together, he didn’t expect for someone such as himself to feel like this. Comforting, almost like a sanctuary and an escape from the world.

ALBEDO is actually unfairly handsome while he’s reading books, somehow especially so whenever they’re recommended by you, he thinks you may like it, or is reminded of you while reading. sometimes you’re just chilling after he’s finished reading for the day, and it’s such a pleasant surprise when he seems to smile more and is more affectionate? he’s a lot softer than usual then for some reason, hmm…

on one day when the two of you are just relaxing together, ALBEDO lends you his sketchbook! you were expecting to see lovely drawings of the beauties of nature and all… but still, it’s a pleasant and rather flustering surprise to see as well many drawings of you. you, his muse who has shown him many of the wonders of life. and so he kisses your cheek, smiling and merely commenting that you are the most beautiful nature has to offer.

you’re not sure whether to be in a surprised or i-definitely-saw-this-coming mood when you see that CHILDE bought that one a-little-bit-too-pricey top you were eyeing… but you daren’t chastise him for it, especially seeing the genuine love in his eyes. shopping with him is always lovely, as he somehow knows what clothes will look great on you (he says all of them will, though. and he’s right btw <3).

on some really early mornings, CHILDE grins at you cheekily as you both discreetly play music in the dead of night even though you both should be sleeping. he grabs your hand, twirls you around though the song doesn’t even match his actions, and pulls you close. and, he stares in your eyes softly, with genuine love—only to smooch you quickly before twirling away and turning up the music to a louder song he prefers… it’s fun jamming to songs of both of your music tastes, dancing like no one’s watching.
