It was the afternoon and also the day after… last night. You hadn’t talked to Isaac at all since last night and it wasn’t intentional on your part. If anything, he was the one avoiding you. It felt weird but you knew why. You always wanted to be closer to Isaac but the events of last night… You two were way more than ‘close’.

Isaac acted like nothing ever happened. All of the things you guys did and the things you said were kind of discarded. It hurt. Maybe he only said those things and did those things because in that moment, that one moment, he actually thought you looked good. 

These thoughts taunted you like crazy. You didn’t have Isaac there to tell you that you weren’t overthinking things. You were just left in your own thoughts. 

The two of you passed every few hours and he wouldn’t make eye contact. It was like he got scared of you or something. It was enough to make you finally do something about it. 

“Isaac.”

“Hm?”

“Don’t go back to your study yet.”

“Y/N? I have work.”

“I know but if we don’t talk now, I’m not talking later.”

He looked at your hand gripping onto his wrist. He knew you were stubborn but this was definitely new. 

You led him to sit down with you before getting comfortable. To your suspicion, he scooted away from you, sitting further than he normally does.

“Okay, what’s going on with you? Like, why are you so awkward today?”

He looked at you trying to put a confused look on his face but he’s not that good at playing dumb. 

“What are you saying? I’ve just been busy.”

“Being busy hasn’t stopped you before. So, tell me. What is it?”

He looked at you and sighed in defeat. He seemed… nervous. 

“I didn’t think I’d tell you but I should’ve known you wouldn’t let me ignore you the whole day. Listen, last night was a lot for me.”

“I’m sor-”

“Don’t apologize. I enjoyed it. A lot. You’re really important to me and being able to show you was great. The problem is, I could never bear the thought of losing you. No matter how or when. Before I fell asleep, I was thinking about it.”

“What are you saying?”

“What I’m about to say…I know it’s sudden but for me, it isn’t. I… love you. I love you, Y/N. I didn’t want to. Loving someone could be dangerous. No, it is dangerous. But, I could never stop myself from loving you.”

“You love me? I didn’t know. I always figured it was just me.

You give him a smile and inch closer to him. 

“I love you too. I didn’t think I’d be able to tell you.”

He moved closer to you and pulled you into a hug. You felt safe in his arms, the safest you’ve ever been.

“So…” You start, “What does this mean now? Like, what’re we gonna do?”

“What do you want to do?”

“Be with you.” You mumble out. 

“Hm? What’d you say? You wanna be with me?”

“Maybe.”

He leaned down and kissed your lips. It felt good to be like this with him again. Him being so physical with you. 

“Then it’s official. We’re together.”

“Does that mean you’ll take me out on dates now?”

“I wanna be your boyfriend, not your genie.”

You were lying in bed, almost closing your eyes. For context, you had a really hard day. You hd lost sleep from the night before so working was just too difficult when your mind wasn’t even working. Isaac had asked you a few times if you were alright and you would try to reassure him but he insisted that you relax for at least an hour. It seemed like he was going soft on you lately but you didn’t mind. 

The house was quiet. Like, suspiciously quiet. Normally, you could hear any little sound but you heard nothing. That was until you heard the front door open and then shut. However, it didn’t sound like someone was leaving, it sounded like someone just came in. Did Isaac seriously leave and you didn’t notice? Damn. You were really that tired. 

You could hear some rummaging and shuffling before it got closer. Next thing you knew, the sound was right outside your door. 

Two knocks.

“Can we come in?”

We? Well, that detail didn’t matter anyway because you were too tired to catch it. 

“Yeah, come in.” You reply, trying to project your voice and hide the tiredness in your tone. 

You hear the handle move around a bit before seeing the door open. 

“Okay, wait. Close your eyes.”

“Huh?? Uh… okay…”

You close your eyes and smile. These little shenanigans were so out-of-character for Isaac but at the same time, It was so… him.

“Hold out your arms”

“Like this?”

“Nononono,” He gently adjusted your arms, “Like this.”

He put something in your arms and you immediately held onto it tight enough to make sure it wouldn’t fall. 

“Alright, open!”

You open your eyes to see a beautiful grey and black cat (American Curl - they’re super cute) in your arms. 

“Isaac!” You look at him with your jaw practically to the floor, “It’s a cat!”

“Yeah, I was looking at her for a while and she reminds me of you so… See, she’s already looking at you like you’re her parent.”

“That’s because I am now. She’s my baby.”

You gently put the cat down on your bed and hug Isaac tight. He puts his head on top of yours and kisses your forehead. You lift your head up and kiss all over his face.

“Do you like my surprise?”

“Like?? I love her. She’s like our baby now.”

“Yeah, we’re her parents now. Ah, but, we need to give her a name.”

“I have so many ideas for that…” You say while going back over to the cat and petting her. 

You couldn’t see it but Isaac was looking at you with the most loving eyes ever.
