ok yeah I am actually very concerned about the mandalorian.
because if everything I’m hearing/seeing is true….they are taking the whole series/story away from the central character in a way that feels, in my opinion, like it’s happening far too abruptly and far too soon.
for many people, maybe most people, din’s story was the one that mattered. For that to be wrapped up so shortly without a truly satisfying ending to his character in pursuit of covering other characters that the casual viewer hasn’t been given enough back story for yet….it just feels incredibly disappointing and like such a gravity shattering let down for literally the SW universe’s most popular show. And if Pedro is actually going to leave and leading to the character leaving focus…I don’t think people will ever care as much as they once did.
I did not expect this for this show and it feels like such a blaster wound to the chest. I’m so sad and I do not for the life of me understand how or why this is the direction they are choosing to take to end this character’s incredible potential.
I hope it’s rumors. But the more we find out the more I’m like ….wow they’re really crushing it just like that.
I feel like what happened with Lost is happening with The Mandalorian now.
The writers worked really hard on enough plot for a couple of seasons and really hooked people, but then they realized “holy 💩 people want more! quick, let’s throw together a bunch of random things and characters and completely undermine all the good stuff we had going in the previous seasons”.
Like, it sucked for fans of Lost and it’s sucks now. What has even been the literal point of this season? To put your two bread winner characters on the back burner? To make Din seem like an incompetent bozo who plays Bo’s lapdog and always needs rescuing?
The point definitely hasn’t been more character development for Din. On expanding Din and Grogu’s relationship. On Din learning to wield the dark saber. On Din learning (and loving) to be a leader. On Grogu getting to hone in on his Jedi skills.
It’s not like I’ve completely hated it this season, there has been good points and it’s still an interesting show. But everything from the first two seasons is missing it seems. And so much potential in what could have been great character development has been put on the sidelines.
Hopefully they can still save it. I have hopes, but I’m skeptical.
The symbolism of the Mythosaur sleeping beneath the Living Waters on Mandalore just as the leader within Din is still sleeping, ready to be freed and to lead their people to freedom
I literally just need to edit the fic I've been promising for weeks now like this post to give me the power to finally fucking finish and post it. Transfer your power to me, you insomniac heathens.
Mad this. It literally says he got jailed for ignoring a court order telling him to stay away from the school - yet the headline says it's for not calling a kid they. He broke the court order cos he was being a self righteous stalkery Christian weirdo. I know the sort, they did the same to us at school cos we were scruffy poor unfortunates / desperate people that apparently needed god to save us. Loads of Christians are like this, proper weirdos.

Based on both decent and not so decent replies, I have made some changes to my original post below.
It would seem a whole new kind of AO3 reader/writer is emerging and it is becoming clear not everyone quite understands how the website community works. Here is some basic guidance on how most people expect you to go about using AO3 to keep this a fun community archive that funtions correctly:
Kudos is for when the story was interesting enough to make you finish reading. If it sucked or was badly written, you probably left. If you finished it, you liked it - so kudos.
If you really liked it, you should comment. It can be long and detailed or a literal keysmash. Writers don't care, we just love comments.
No critisism unless the author has specifically asked or agreed to hear it. Even constructive critisism is a no-no unless an author note tells you it's okay. No, posting it online is not an open invitation for that. Many people write as a fun hobby or a way to cope with, among other things, insecurity and just want to share. Don't ruin that for them.
Do not comment to ask the author to write/update something else. It's tacky and off-putting and will probably have the opposite effect than the one you want.
There is no algorithm, it's an archive. Use the search and filter function to add/remove the pairings/characters/tropes etc. you want to read about and it will find you the fics that fit the bill.
For this to work, writers must tag and rate stories. This avoids readers finding the wrong things and missing the stuff they want. I don't care how cringy that trope is in your eyes - it gets tagged.
Character A/Character B means a ROMANTIC or SEXUAL relationship of some kind. Character A&Character B is PLANTONIC, like friendship or family.
Nothing is banned. This is an implicit rule because banning one thing is a slipperly slope to banning another and another, until nothing is allowed anymore. Do not expect anyone to censor for you. Because of the tags system, you are responsible for your own reading experience.
People can create new chapters and sequels/fic series any time after they "complete" a story. So it's considered perfectly normal to subscribe, even to a finished story. You can even subscribe to the author instead just to cover your bases.
Do not repost stories or change the publishing date without an extremely good reason (like a complete top to bottom rewrite). It's an archive, not social media. No one cares what's the most recent, only what fits their tag needs.
Try to avoid deleting a story you wrote if you hate it - make it anonymous or orphan it so others can still enjoy it, without it being connected to your name anymore.
It's come to my attention that metaworks ARE allowed on AO3, which is something I wasn't aware of. So if you do post an essay or theory, please tag it as such so others can choose to search for it or exclude it.
The only reason this archive works is because NON ONE PROFITS. Do not link to your ko-fi or patreon or mention monetary gain in any way or you violate the terms and risk having your account removed.
I KNOW there's plenty more I missed but I'm trying to cover most of the basics that people seem to be struggling with.
I invite anyone to add to this, but please explain, don't berate.
This is money cat. He only appears every 1,383,986,917,198,001 posts. If you repost this in 30 seconds he will bring u good wealth and fortune.
SLICE HIS THROAT WITH A RUSTY CLEAVER
EARLYE IN THE MORNIN.
Got tagged by my babygirl @yourcoolauntie a month or so ago but I'm finally getting to this.
1. Are you named after anyone?
My dead name was a reference to my mom's favorite celebrity's niece or godkid, but my legal name is based on a legend in my culture. Billie just gives me gender euphoria while also protecting my identity as a teacher since I have no idea where my students lurk on this hellsite.
2. When was the last time you cried?
I'm not a huge crier, even if something is really touching or makes me sad. So I had to really think about this but I'd say the last time I really cried was in November after deciding to go No Contact with half of my family.
3. Do you have kids?
Do 6 younger brothers and a dog count? If not, no. But I am the proud honorary parental figure of my students and former students so I have at least a few hundred kids right now. Father's and Mother's Day are fun.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Who, me? Never. Who told you that. Are you a cop?
5. What's the first thing you notice about people?
Their presence. Not even from body language, like just their energy. I had a coworker say they know when I enter a room without me having to say or do anything cause I have a big presence. So that's what I'm alluding to, how someone's presence comes off based on the energy they bring into the room/group and what they leave behind/take away when they're gone.
6. What's your eye color?
Everyone in my family has these pretty reddish brown eyes but I inherited my Elisi's deep green eyes. She once said that any animal that has bright colors and patterns is one that uses its colors as a way to advertise the fact that they would make a horrible snack and our eyes say the same and I didn't know how to tell her that she just implied we would be spicy disasters in modern slang. For the record, I'm a whole fucking meal with how fine I am.
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy movies with scary endings.
8. Any special talents?
I once watched a documentary about a dude who got his hands cut off in the racist parts of the south where my family is from and it scared me so badly I learned to write with my feet so I have that going for me.
9. Where were you born?
My mom was really bad at planning so I was born on the side of a road in the middle of butt fuck nowhere.
10. What are your hobbies?
I like to tinker with cars, write fanfiction that I pray my students don't find, restore antiques, hike, cook, and scream into the void. I also like to collect rare books and ironic novelty items.
11. Have you any pets?
6 little brothers and a dog.
12. What sports do you play/have you played?
Soccer, baseball, I once competed in dodgeball, every rez/NDN kid had at least one year of fighting lessons from that One Uncle so I got to do some boxing... archery. I've done almost everything you can think of but I suck at Basketball and I'm salty about it.
13. How tall are you?
5'1
14. Favorite subject in school?
When I was in school I loved history and lit classes. We had one teacher who dressed up for the unit and another let us protest in front of the school. We had to choose a historic organization to be a part of and that was fun. Until my brother and his group pretended to blow up the school as part of The Weather Underground. He's still on the No Fly list.
15. Dream Job?
I work as a teacher but I wanted to be a coroner when I was a kid. Is there such a thing as a traveling mortician?
15. Sunsets or Sunrises?
Sunrises.
I have no idea who to tag for this so go nuts.
@artificial-usagi I got you, boo.
I don't know if anyone's done this yet cause I'm not in the PP fandom, I haven't seen it, but since watching SNL I can't unsee this whenever I get the ad for it so suffer with me.

I completely forgot I made this and panicked when I saw I had nearly 100 notifications. I'm glad you people are enjoying the suffering I inflicted 😂
Anyway, hi! Welcome to my shit show! Make yourself comfortable! I have snacks.

I'm so sorry everyone for being late on posting The Middle Part 1, between a doctor's appointment, having to go to the local courthouse to explain YET AGAIN why I can't participate in jury duty as a disabled person on welfare due to a low paying career, and my oven breaking on top of some of my students needing a tutoring session on Saturday, I've been exhausted but I plan on posting The Middle Part 1 by tonight and here's a sneak preview of another fic coming out this upcoming Friday as an apology and to give you something to look forward to!
You had many problems, and delayed responses were definitely a few of them.
You weren’t sure if too much time had passed, but the moment you decided to reciprocate Din’s touches and stares, the man pulled back. He stopped touching you and started to actively avoid any room you were in. It was as if that month of pining never happened, and the sudden isolation left your head and heart empty wondering if maybe you had done something wrong. It was so bad, some days when you came back from work you were genuinely surprised that The Mandalorian and Grogu hadn’t packed their things and left. But regardless, the rejection stung with a touch of humiliation that you’d never admit out loud but held close to your heart.
That isolation is what guided you to punch in the coordinates for the nearest planet with the lie on your lips of having a job there that would require your time for a few hours. You noticed that had made Din’s shoulders slump a little in relief, and that only added salt to the rejection and hurt. But the warrior's touches and stares had also left you horny and your fingers and the vibrator you had on your nightstand just weren't doing the trick. That’s how you found yourself at the only brothel on the planet, taken aback by the fact that it was run by droids with the only prostitutes available being the robotic kind, and embarrassingly staring at the droid before you that had the most realistic pussy you had ever seen on something that hadn’t been assigned female at birth.
After turning down another droid with a similar physique but with a, quite frankly, impressive erection instead of a vagina; the female droid led you to a section of the brothel where a private room was waiting for you. You couldn't help the heat that crept to your cheeks and ears at the sounds of sentient species coupling with droids or whatever they paid to be with as you passed rooms by. You also couldn't help the way it made your pussy pulse with need and grow wetter with each step, or how the clench of your thighs did very little to relieve the feeling growing within your groin.
To be released on Friday, February 17th.

The Before and After (E)
The Middle - Part 1 (E) - Coming Soon
The Middle - Part 2 (E) - Coming Soon
A non-canon blurb from The Before and After universe.
Din is not a smart man. Never claimed to be, and would reluctantly accept any compliments that would argue against the fact. Yes, he was intelligent in the ways that mattered within his job. But outside of being multi-lingual, a weapon expert, tracking master, and skilled fighter; Din was not a smart man.
If he were a smart man, he would have noticed the way you had been acting odd all week leading up to him going off for a week on a job. If he were a smart man, he would have noticed the way you looked at him more intently with that mischievous look in your eyes when you had something planned. If he were a smart man, he would have picked up on the tone in your voice when you had commed him the moment he returned to Jakku. And if he were a smart man, he would have noticed the flower petals on the floor the moment he walked into your shared home or even picked up on the sound of moaning when he had entered the bedroom looking for you and hell-bent on having a long, hot shower.
But Din is not a smart man.

The Death Toll of the Earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria may have reached 20,000 people, and that’s outside of all those who are injured and lost.
If you could donate PLEASE do!!!
Here’s a post full of charities you could donate to, but I’ll add my own trustworthy ones here:

Fuck yeah, I'm down.
curious about what's in store for you for 2023? :D
(this is a random generator that will give you four (4) ao3 tags, so you know, warnings for what that usually entails)
Hey, everyone! I want to apologize for the lack of writing and interactions. In short, life has kicked my ass since October. Between falling out with one of my best friends over the dumbest thing, deciding to go No Contact with half my family after a revelation during Thanksgiving dinner, spraining my knee, and dealing with Strep A... to say I've been running on low steam is an understatement. I'm just now sending out my end-of-the-year cards cause if I wasn't sick, I was too tired to finish them and drop them off at the post office. But I refuse to be embarrassed by it.
But I'm happy to say that I'll be posting two Mandalorian fics soon. I'll be posting a sneak peek of both tonight to get my ass motivated to polish the fics and actually post them on here and AO3. Thanks for sticking around, everyone! I'm getting my shit together.
Also special shout-out to @yourcoolauntie for the messages I still need to respond to and for including me in your posts. I can't begin to express how much I appreciate you.
I could use some 💪 luck

This was fun <3 @yourcoolauntie you would be my go-to tag for this but you beat me and everyone else I'm not as familiar with enough to tag them so this is free for all! Good luck with my weird taste in music!

Sorry it took so long to come play! @dreamymyrrh @miss-mandalorian @heythere-mel I love everyone's eclectic taste and Mel, I only just got into Odesza last year, they are my writing music!

I decided to put my opinions about both with a score beneath the break in case anyone hasn't seen either yet.
Pedro looked great, but boy Fallon fumbled the ball a bit with his interview questions. I was texting one of my BFFs about it while we watched together and I was shocked that it was over so quickly. The questions were weak and I felt like didn't give the man much to work on, so aside from looking good it was just hard to watch as a SW/TLOU fan.
Honestly, the Mario/TLOU mashup had me in tears. But aside from that, I wasn't that impressed with this episode. Pedro felt like he was just... there. Involved but not as a host, which was a weird feeling as a long-time SNL fan. I also felt like they lost out on a LOT of opportunities for TLOU, Mando, and even GOT skits they easily could have made fun of the fact that his characters keep dying horrible deaths and being reluctant father figures. The skits felt like anyone would have been in them and not tailored to him and it was a little disappointing. Especially with Mando coming back in a month.
The other hot take that I'll probably get backlash for but it's whatever is that I thought the hospital and Italian restaurant scenes were really poor taste. As a disabled person who's had nerve and brain damage from injuries as a kid that left me with a speech impediment, I was horrified that they'd make fun of something like that regardless of how funny the accent he used was. I constantly deal/dealt with people making fun of the way I talk because I slur certain words and if I didn't have the self-esteem of a god I probably would have stopped talking altogether. There are ways to make funny skits around that that don't make fun of disabled people. Same with the Italian restaurant scene, it was really uncomfortable watching a woman get ganged up like that. I just couldn't find the humor in either skit.
But the others I did enjoy, especially Mami Pedro. As a Spanish speaker, the skit had me in tears. And even the steak scene, it happened with a former black college roommate of mine who only ever ordered steak extra well and with catsup so I had a lot of great flashbacks to that. But other than those and the TLOU sketch, I felt like this episode just lacked a lot. There was so much potential that I felt like was thrown away and I wish Pedro had been more involved, but it wasn't horrible. I hope SNL and even Pedro do better regarding jokes at the expense of historically underrepresented people moving forward.
I've honestly been toying with the fact that I may be autistic for the last year or so but I refuse to get a diagnosis because of how ableist jobs can be regarding things like this. Unless you need medication or financial support, I agree with all of this. A few of my other health issues have backtracked my career and education when I was in my late teens/early 20s and that should never have happened. I needed the help and medications but it still was frustrating to have to decide when and if I was going to lie about them to employers when interviewing for jobs.
By the way. Before you rush to get a professional diagnosis for a Brain Thing you should really weigh your options. Like do you just want to "prove it" or will this actually give you access to treatment you can't have otherwise? Are the treatment options available worth having the government know you're neurodivergent? Because sometimes it's better to keep things off the record because unfortunately we still live in a very deeply ableist society and you might not want to have more real material oppression stacked against you than you have to
Is your dad Ron Swanson? (via blooper2112)
I've had a lot of invasive/traumatic experiences with a certain medical practice and despite it being just a regular check-up, one of my best friends/neighbors went with me and got lunch with me after. Friends will never care about the weight of the ask if it means being able to spend time with you/help you (as long as the ask isn't at the expense of anyone's well being of course). That incident is what helped me get over my trauma along with finding a new practice with caring doctors and nurses who stressed how important consent is to them.
For this, I absolutely will bury a body for this friend with no questions asked. Ride or die. I will fist fight god in a Waffle House parking lot for them.
