I've had a lot of invasive/traumatic experiences with a certain medical practice and despite it being just a regular check-up, one of my best friends/neighbors went with me and got lunch with me after. Friends will never care about the weight of the ask if it means being able to spend time with you/help you (as long as the ask isn't at the expense of anyone's well being of course). That incident is what helped me get over my trauma along with finding a new practice with caring doctors and nurses who stressed how important consent is to them.
For this, I absolutely will bury a body for this friend with no questions asked. Ride or die. I will fist fight god in a Waffle House parking lot for them.
i love you people who hold doors i love you people who let others pass on the driveway i love you people who make funny faces at babies i love you people who pick up litter i love you people who say please and thank you i love you people patient with service workers i love you people who share an umbrella i love you people who are casually kind
My new meds make my skin throw a fit. It’s not terribly bad, just a few things here and there, but it’s bumming me out because I’ve never really had too many run-ins with acne.
My four-year-old sister, however, is under the impression that it’s just “3D freckles”, and that they look very, very pretty. She wants all of my freckles to “pop out”, especially the ones across my nose; they’re her favourite.
And it puts me in this weird position where I can’t say, “No, this is acne, and it’s bad,” because I don’t want to teach her that it’s a bad to have unclear skin, you know?
Because the more I think about interactions I have with children, the more I realise that children will consistently compliment “flaws” until they’ve been taught not to.
Like, a kid at the library, whose sister has vitiligo, saw my scars once and suggested that his sister and I should be cats for Halloween, since I have “tabby skin” and she has “calico skin”. “I can be a black cat,” he immediately added. “It’s not AS cool, but they’re the spookiest.”
When I started losing weight, my little brother immediately demanded that I gain it back, because I wasn’t as comfortable to cuddle with anymore.
And my other little sister always wants to wear her paint-stained clothes to school so that “everyone can tell [she’s] an artist”.
I don’t know. I guess talking to little kids just reminds me that all of this superficial shit we worry about really is 100% made up.
Hey, ya'll! I absolutely LOVE hyping people up! Whether it's on here, AO3, in person, online... love it. SO I want to share that passion by letting people send me fics from friends, their favorite authors, or maybe someone who needs a little more love and I'll head over to their fic and leave them a detailed comment with all the love they deserve!
RULES:
No incest or graphic depictions of rape. Sex Pollen, roleplay, and similar tropes are fine; just nothing that is graphic in terms of sexual coercion where either party not consenting.
Currently only accepting Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) x Reader, general Grogu and Daddy Din fics, and Ezra (from Prospect) x Reader fics for now but will branch out once I'm less busy and get my fandom shit sorted!
I'm here for a good time and a good angsty cry, not needing to call my therapist. If you're unsure if the fic you have in mind goes against this just message me and we'll sort it out!
Din stans angry that he no longer has the Darksaber is so funny because do you not know the character at all? He never wanted it. The amount of times people project their own wants onto a character and then get mad when they don’t get what they wanted, completely disregarding the actual wants of the character or what would actually make sense. If any of you genuinely thought Din wanted to rule Mand’alor you’re kidding yourselves and you should reevaluate how well you understand his character.
This is the first character (and man) that has had me by the emotional balls for longer than three months. This year will mark the 2-year mark since I started pining for him. Happy anniversary, baby.
One of the things I really enjoy about Din Djarin as a character is the layers. And I mean that both literally (the victorian ankle kink is real) and figuratively.
This is a guy who can be implacable, even brutal, when he’s bounty hunting. But even at the beginning, he seems to have a preference to bring bounties in alive when possible. Initially, he was pretty inclined to murder the Jawa that ransacked his ship, but once Kuiil pushed him to make a deal instead, he started using that very currency as his primary method. Even at times when he really didn’t have to, like fighting a krayt dragon.
This is a guy who can be snarky and curt when he meets someone on the job, or in a combat-likely situation, but once pushed out of his comfort zone, turns awkward and even shy. The best example of this is on Sorgan, with Omera, when the scary mercenary turns skittish animal, and kind of blurts out his tragic backstory as soon as someone shows a hint of interest.
And then there’s the number of times that the poor guy gets stabbed in the back, manipulated into something he doesn’t really want to do, or has even friendly allies up and change the terms of their team up on him. And he still ends up going along with it. After complaining and protest, but still. I’ve joked that he can’t win an argument with a baby, but let’s be real here, the baby is pretty fucking persuasive. This is however a guy who gets bullied by his mechanic to carry a frog person that she doesn’t even know to a neighboring system. And then manages to get bullied by said frog person along the way. And the frog person doesn’t even speak Basic!
He’s a literal knight in shining armor who will blow up a krayt dragon from inside its stomach and he’s bullied by pretty much everyone he meets, and it’s hilarious every single time.
He sleeps in full armor, in a cupboard in the space opera equivalent of a 1982 Honda Civic. He cauterizes wounds by campfire. He spends a whole lot of time hanging out in a forge, apparently having traumatic flashbacks at the banging noise. This man might well be Greef Karga’s highest performing hunter, but he’s also a walking trainwreck and I love it.
He won’t remove his helmet to save his own life (though he will for his kid) but still keeps a reasonably well groomed mustache. Does he even own a mirror? Or does he shave by reflection in his own helmet? I love that Din is so weird that this is a legitimate question.
He’s a solitary man with no name and the uptight governess who protects her kid with a rifle, and each season ends with him basically raising an army of friends he met along the way. (My wishlist item is that next year, Grogu gets to raise the army to save him instead. That and a nude bathing scene in the living waters of Mandalore. But I feel like one is more likely than the other.)
I never would have thought that a Star Wars character could surpass Luke Skywalker in my heart, but Din Djarin might well have been created in a lab to deliberately push every one of my fannish buttons, and I love him for it.
Seeing some discussion of porn on your page which like, yes queens! I recommend everyone check out belessa, it’s basically just porn from the female gaze. Lots of stuff on there and it always makes me feel a little more ethical since I think the whole site is supposed to be more about empowerment and stuff lol
Oh yes! Like I never get butterflies from porn but got butterflies from vids on that site

”getting thicker skin” is great in theory but I think for some people “get better at handling your thin skin” is gonna be way more helpful advice. I have strong emotional reactions to criticism and they might never go away, but i can continue to try and handle each situation maturely and that’s the important part. Sometimes irrational feelings are chronic and living with them is better than trying to beat yourself up into not having them.
in light of recent events as well as a new rise in creating nazi ocs I think this post is an important one to have on your blog if you stand behind your jewish followers or are jewish yourself.
