hey, uh... you havent been updating your lils hearmit-a-day-may fic? Just letting you know incase you forgot about it or something of the sort.

We've not forgotten, it's just not a high priority right now! Enkay and I are both pretty busy, so we are just prioritizing the tumblr side of things (mainly because it gets by far the most traffic), and we'll update all of the ao3 when we can :)

It's not annoying, that's a fair question! I do plan to continue both of them, it's just a combination of things that have been stopping me :( A big reason I haven't been working on those is that I've been focused on my lils au with Enkay for Hermit a Day May, and we've been working on that for well over a month. The other thing is that I'm just generally struggling to find consistent motivation and time to actually work on it, but that doesn't mean I've abandoned the projects entirely!! I'm about halfway through the next chapter of TSotS, but it's slow going. Idk how long it'll take, just know I'm working on it :P

do you think you'd ever release the galactic font for download? I actually really love it, enkay did a great job making a handwriting version of galactic. it's been really fun reading the extra notes, I've finally managed to get to the point where I don't need to have the key on hand anymore! 🥳

I'm not against it, but I have no idea how that would work, and Enkay says he doesn't want to host something on his Google drive, so if anyone has other ideas, let me know! Also, good job learning to translate!! And thank you for taking the time to translate and read the notes :) I'm glad people are getting invested :D

hmmm. I was torn on whether that "IX" at the beginning of impulse's galactic notes was a typo of "is" or if it was deliberate, and now seeing that grian's and tango's both start with "V" I'm certain it's deliberate. roman numerals perhaps? but why would grian and tango have an earlier number than impulse when skizz met impulse first? and the same number to boot...

my initial theory (probably should wait for more of these to drop first, but I'm prepared to be wrong lol) is that skizz is assigning each hermit a threat level, since impulse had a lot of notes about him being a good fighter with a number of possible weapons, while grian's and tango's notes both imply lower offensive capabilities (at least from what information it seems skizz has been able to gather at the point he wrote them).

it may just be for people on the android app? it's not showing it marked as mature for me and I'm on browser, and apparently the automated moderation for the app has been flagging lots of things that don't actually need it recently. the post itself may have a notice saying it's had a content label applied which should have an "appeal" button on it, but if you aren't seeing that then I believe you may be able to send in a support ticket about it saying that the flagged post isn't mature. but it may or not not take a while; I think they're getting a lot of those.

I'm not seeing an appeal button and have gotten no notice, so I'll follow your advice and send in a support ticket. We'll see how it goes, I've had someone tell me it wasn't flagged on their end, so maybe it was just a glitch? Idk, hopefully everything can be resolved because people NEED to see The Skizz. BAND AUUUUUUUU

I have LOTS of thoughts on their first meeting--but you don't get to see that yet ;) I have a bunch of art drawn (ft. the most adorable Impulse ever) and all that's left is to write a little blorb of how it went down, which I'll probably do sometime tomorrow :D (I'm very very excited for this lol)

They do have mutual friends, since Skizz tends to know EVERYBODY, but Impulse is a bit of a recluse apart from when Gem and Scott make him get out of the house, so he hasn't met Skizz yet. Skizz happens to have never interacted directly with Gem or Scott either, but they've all heard of each other. As for mutual connections, Impulse does know Tango (who is part of Heart Foundation, obviously), and probably some others, but that's it for important connections I can come up with off the top of my head!

As for stupid levels, these guys are certified idiots, rest assured. However, this one isn't exactly a slow burn! I'd say more, but you'll see soon enough... >:)

Bdubs, I don't have any particular plans for. I'm still brainstorming a lot of the hermits n such. Etho knows everyone, tho (add him to mutual friends list ig), and in particular, the Roomies exist in this AU like they did in secret life, because I love them dearly <3 Other than that, he's a college student, studying tech of some sort, and lives with Cleo and Grian :) (and potentially Bdubs, if I get around to giving him a backstory. Honestly if you have ideas, feel free to share) He occasionally helps out with the sound tech for the Heart Foundation, but it's rare.

And thank you so much! I'm thrilled everyone's liking my silly lil band au thus far, I've kinda hyperfixated on it these past few days lmao. My wrist actually hurts from drawing so much rip, I need to get a proper stand for my tablet so I'm not hunched over the desk like a shrimp. But yeah! I have lots more art and quite a bit of writing I wanna do :D idk how far this'll go, since it's not meant to be serious or anything, but it's a fun experiment

out of curiosity: so in the au skizz is a singer and bass player for his band, right? does he still know how to play the drums as well? (like maybe more as a hobby?) I ask because I pictured impulse finding out and getting SO excited lol.

Skizz does know how to play drums! But the other members of the band are BigB and Tango (and a secret fourth person shhh), and neither of them are gonna want to be front and center, singing and leading the band :P

So, Skizz has to sing, and you can't exactly sing *and* play drums, so he plays bass! That, and he doesn't need a drum player, because the secret fourth person plays drums :D

But Impulse doesn't know he plays drums yet.. I'm thinking I'm going to put out a post soon about how they meet, and that'll be the start of the current timeline :) But he's certainly going to be excited to learn

Also thank youuuu! I'm so pleased with how the art's been turning out; the colors are definitely outside my comfort zone, but Enkay's been helping me pick things out <3 And btw I have more art coming soon that I think puts all the stuff thus far to shame >:))))

YIPPEE I ACTUALLY GOT AN ASK :D I spent all day drawing this lol

Scott is (obviously) part of Gem and the Scotts!

He plays bass and sings accompanying vocals :) He also does most of the makeup, outfits, hair dye, and paint for the group, especially for Impulse, who is absolutely clueless about those things lol.

He's a blizz hybrid, which is a cold version of the blaze, so he gets little blizz rods around his head and ice powers. When using his powers, the ends of his hair and tail freeze, giving him frosted tips (hehe get it? frosted tips-), and his eyes glow icy blue. He's also dating Jimmy in this au! They were roommates in college, started going out their junior year, and have been together since <3 He even has a feather sticker on his bass to remember his bf when on stage for encouragement. Scott likes to steal his shirts, and doesn't care that they have holes in the back for Jimmy's wings

That's what I've come up with for Scott thus far!! I'm still figuring out timelines and how the band actually got together. Feel free to send in more asks if you're curious about anyone or anything!

Just realized I didn't even touch on the fact that skizz ACTUALLY sent a picture of himself and that could kind of be a BIG THING. like, trying to keep this short and simple not only does impulse now have some physical descriptions to work with he may now also (if we're lucky and give him at least five chapters to sort himself out) decide (read: feel pressured by himself and himself only) to send a picture back. Which at that point I might just explode ngl

Okay WOO I'm back. Hasn't quite been 8 hours of sleep, but like, who cares about the specifics??

Okay first, I just want to say amazing chapter as always. First and foremost. It will never cease to amaze me how Impulse and Skizz are completely different characters. You do such a good job of creating individual voices for them, but yet in a way that doesn't feel like a dramatic change? I don't know if that really makes sense? Reading from each pov feels different, it feels like it's genuinely a different person we're viewing, but it also feels like they're one in the same. Like they're the same person in a different font, like they genuinely are made for each other. I'm getting way off track and over analyzing something as simple as an author writing multiple pov's. Okay then. Back on track. This chapter was a delight to read, and knowing most of it probably wasn't even planned and just. Spiraled into existence is very funny to me. Never been this excited to see Skizz's chapter because the things you have the potential to do. My god.

Okay now talking about the ACTUAL CHAPTER!! I'm assuming this takes place the same day as the apology pastries, but I could be wrong. Having Tango as the TA is genius and genuinely threw me for a loop because I forgot Impulse didn't personally know him at first. My first thoughts were something like "wow another blazeborn thats cool. To bad its not tango, or impulse would have thought about him directly by now". And then it. Was Tango. SHAKSJK. This could majority effect the plot or just be a silly thing to add onto the miscommunication pile and I love it. (Also impulse calling him Tongo?? Fucking amazing.) I don't really have much to say about Tango right now, but I'm very excited to hopefully see more of him in the future

Impulse physically counting down the minutes before he gets to leave class, and more importantly, look at the messages skizzley sent? He is incredibly real for that, but also, that man is down BAD. Impulse thinking about and then proceeding to RESEARCH angle culture. The WINGS. His CLAWS. I hate him. I hate him so much. An angles ability to sense others emotions? Walleye the things you've done and set up in a relatively short chapter. Insane.

Now the main thing i wanted to talk about. Certainly not last, and potentially the furthest thing from least, Impulse can see enchantments. First, that is SO insanely cool. Only certain species can see enchantments?? That's such a cool thing?? Not only as a plot device (i see what you're doing. I will be talking about it in a second.) But also just, a super cool thing? I know I'm repeating myself but, I love that?

I'm not really going to try and sort out my thoughts about how this will effect impulse as the classmate because I will be here for a while, and instead just focus on how GENIUS of a miscommunication plot point this is. The moment I read the line "this time noting the white feathers" I knew it was all over. Of course impulse would specifically say white feathers, he wouldn't be able to see enchantments through a picture. Of course he wouldn't have any reason to think Skizzley is an angle, much less his classmate (yes he does. He DOES. he has EVERY REASON TO THINK THAT-) and this is just touching the surface of everything you've set up within this single conversation.

Impulse is now way more attracted to his online friend, he knows he has wings, he doesn't, even for a SECOND, consider the possibility of skizz being skizz, and on top of that. You made Impulse indirectly insult Skizz's wings.

Now, this might not be important, it might not effect anything, I might be reading too far into it. But from skizz's perspective? He shares a personal picture for the first time, it includes a snippet of his wings, and his online friend whom he's grown so very attached to, says some other guy, who ALSO has the name skizz, has prettier wings? Keeping in mind skizz can't sense or feel any emotions online, he has no way of knowing Impulses true intentions. He has no real way to tell if impulse is playing it up for the bit, or if he genuinely thinks this other guy, in every sense of the word, is more attractive. Again could mean nothing.

While I'm here I might as well scream about the emotion thing a bit more. Stepping away from the chapter and plot points, not being able to tell what Dipple Dop is feeling must be so refreshing and so fucking terrifying at the same time. Anyway, back to the story. We know skizz doesn't know what exactly impulse his classmate is feeling towards him. (Something something everybody loves skizz and skizz loves everybody, he doesn't know the different between platonic love and romantic love because nobody has ever cared about him as a person that much vs a really good friend etc etc) he can't know what dipple dop is feeling. For the first time in probably a long time he is almost completely in the dark. We're assuming skizz hasn't put the pieces together what so ever about another skizz with wings, hey! I'm a skizz! I have wings! Because, well there probably wouldn't be over 20 more chapters if he did SKSKAJ

Also SCREAMING AT YOU. SCREAMING AT YOU SO HARD BECAUSE RAAHAHHAHJ if the knowledge that angels can sense emotions gets to impulses head, there is a very high likelihood he will start to avoid his classmate, also maybe gaslight himself into trying to feel anything other than attraction to this man, which would make skizz think he did something wrong, etc etc. Impulse now firmly believes skizzley is somebody else and it's just an insane coincidence. Skizz is one devious author away from spiraling into a mess. There are so many other directions this could go I just DONT KNOW HOW TO PUT THEM INTO WORDSS. There are so many other THOUGHTS that i dont know how to explain. There are so many different paths i can see this taking. you make me so mad. In a good way. I'm angry that you're writing a story that is basically specifically tailored to drive me insane/pos. There are so many more things i could probably talk about from this chapter alone but ive forgotten them because the only clear thing right now is just "they should kiss. For fun. As a reward. Let them kiss".

At this point I've been here over an hour trying to make sure this is somewhat readable because to be honest I haven't fully woken up and it's way to early for me to try and use my brain for sophisticated thoughts! but! We persist! Because you have completely taken over every thought of mine with half baked concepts and ideas on how insanely stupid these idiots are. And if I don't get them out I won't be able to do anything today. I hope you're happy, I hope you're proud of what you've made me (don't stop. I'll gladly embrace insanity if skizzpulse miscommunication college au is the result/silly)

That said, you need to SLEEP. It is critical for your mental and physical health, and you need to be in peak physical condition to handle what the next chapter holds ;)

That last chapter did happen on the same day as the pastries, you're correct (though, I'm not gonna lie, I haven't payed attention to the timeline at ALL until recently, things just kinda vaguely happen at some point in the week. That said, I did make schedules for each of them that I might release soon). Also YES ta Tango is one of my favorite things, because Impulse needs more friends 👍 (ngl Gem and Pearl were added in the spur of the moment for the same reason because I decided he was going to be in a group project now lmao. That had NOT been the intent when I started the chapter, I can tell you that much). Impulse calling him Tongo made me laugh so much tho, it's just so stupid and I giggled every single time I read it xD

He is down bad, and it's far too late for him to recover >:) I just thought, "what would a stupid idiot do if he had a massive crush on someone?" and the answer was, of course, do extensive research on every aspect about the man that he can think of. Totally normal and not at all obsessive behavior, not at all.

Hehehehehe I love adding little things like demons being able to see enchantments (they can see something else, too, but you'll find out what that is soon enough...). I love adding niche worldbuilding things just because I can :D And demons being able to see enchantments just so happens to be majorly relevant to the plot >:)

honestly, I wasn't expecting everyone to get it immediately, but ig my readers aren't as dumb as Impulse is (/lh). I also love how angry everyone is over this little thing, because he has absolutely no reason to be comparing the two in his mind, now that he has what he believes is solid evidence that they're not the same person--not that he would have ever thought that in the first place. It's simply a coincidence that they have the same name :)

(also, side note for this lil moment: it was directly inspired by the post that started this whole thing from Chipper, which said that Impulse knew they both had wings, but thought that online Skizz was a dove hybrid or something)

I'm not going to confirm or deny any of your theories on how Impulse may or may not behave given that Skizz can sense emotions, but that said, I love your theories and eat them up for breakfast, please please keep them coming. That post has been in my drafts for weeks now, and let me just say, I have words upon words I could say about it. Enkay is a cruel and stingy tyrant of secrets who would never spare a morsel for us poor innocent readers 😔 It's a harsh world out there for pizza enjoyers, I don't know how we survive, but we must soldier on regardless of the terrible and inhumane conditions.

That said, while I reserve the right to complain as much as I want about how terrible, horrible, and mean Enkay is, I am above all of you because I GET TO HAVE SOME SECRETS AHAHAHAHAHHAHAH I KNOW THINGS THAT YOU DON'T, FOOOLLSSSSS >:))))

I am Very privileged in that I bother Enkay as often as I want (translation: every day, multiple times a day), and even if there's only a 0.001% chance of getting a secret, I can simply ask a thousand times :) Sounds tough for you though, good luck out there smile

I've been thinking about TSotS a lot lately, and I can't stop thinking about how I didn't realize BOTH of them didn't know eachothers hybrid status.

I've already talked a bit about how this effects Skizz and his perception of what's going on, but I've been thinking about Impulse a lot more.

At first, in one of the first chapters, 3, I think, when we first see impulses not-a-crush-crush on his angel classmate, and I thought it was fueled by his.. let's say growing fondness of his angel bestfriend (id specify "online" but... he doesnt seem like a very social creature)

But now that I know he doesn't know Skizz is an angel (which tbf i probably should have picked up on lol, i feel like if he knew it would have been a much more major plot point by now) it makes his crush feel a lot more real and present and important. Because at the end of the day, it is. His crush wasn't influenced by Skizz, making it (unknowingly) more important to him because this is his first crush, ever. He truly did just become enamored with an angel for seemingly no reason. And it's scary.

This makes for a couple interesting directions this story can take when he does eventually learn skizz is an angel (assuming that happens before he meets Skizz in person and they live happily ever after with no problems at all. Definitely.).

A) he becomes even more enamored with his classmate

B) full on falls head over heels for skizz

C) unintentionally ghosts Skizz (and avoids his classmate at all costs) because he's having multiple gay panic attacks ("skizz is an angel? Like that guy in my class? Are his wings as pretty? Is the guy just as nice as skizz?")

D) begins to put the dots together and starts to freak out... or alternatively does the opposite and sees no connection what so ever. Silly guy.

Or E) some secret 5th thing that only an author could come up with because being a writer is actually just playing 3D chess with the characters (and readers)

Also I'm so. So. normal about the apology pastries. I will not survive that interaction. (And for the sake of this ramble, we're not thinking about the outcome possibilities. Because i will be here for hours if i so much as think about how that will go down + the aftermath)

Insane rambles that make little to no sense, probably missing some stuff I wanted to mention, and also very rushed because. Well I need my thoughts on some kind of paper or I will explode/pos. They take up an insane amount of my thoughts. Send help. (And to think, i was somewhat normal about skizzpulse before this fic... i regret nothing)

Anyways! THEORIES AND STUFF my beloved >:))))

I don't think it's been mentioned explicitly, mainly because I don't like to do straight exposition and prefer to work information into the plot naturally, but they know next to nothing about one another's personal information. They've both been very strict about protecting their privacy for a variety of reasons, so yeah. Skizz didn't know Impulse was a demon, and while Skizz has certainly hinted that he's an angel, he hasn't explicitly told Impulse.

And that's one thing I really like about how their relationship is going to develop; it said in the tags, but it's simultaneously friends to lovers and strangers to lovers, because at least at the beginning, the online and in-person personalities have no direct association with one another. So yeah, Impulse just likes this random angel for no reason other than SMOKING HOT, and it has nothing to do with Skizz (yet ;))

ughh I love all your theories, there are SO many things that could happen from here. And of course, nothing is going to be directly confirmed or denied, but I will say at least part of several of your theories are going to happen >:)) With angst, naturally. ughhh you don't even KNOW. lots of 3D chess with multiverse time travel going on.

And, like always, I don't mind rambles!! Ramble as much as you want!! Ramble more!!!!! I just don't always get to them in a timely manner rip, but don't take that as me being annoyed or uninterested because I want to knowwwww your thoughts, please and thank you :))) And don't say you've achieved nothing! It all adds to my motivation :D These asks and the comments I get really help to get me out of slumps in motivation and such, so I really really appreciate it <3

I love the glow on Skizz's wings and halo and his lil concerned expression. He just cares about his buddy! Those eyes are absolutely SPARKLING btw. The tiny :( bubble is adorable, but also so so sad. The guy needs some comfort!

Also poor Impyyyyy D: the tears and the wobbly lip UGH he's oh so sad :((( At least he seems kinda cozy in his bed. He needs a Skizz to come give him some cuddles and love, you know?
