just a reminder yall that buying the tlou 2 remaster is supporting neil, which is supporting israel and its genocide against palestinians!
i love the tlou world as much as anyone else, but financially diverting away from anyone/thing/company supporting israel is one of the simplest and easiest ways palestinians have asked us to help. i hope we all consider boycotting the remaster and pirating s2

Your eyes flicker from the page you were reading to the doorframe at the entrance of the room. You see Abby and smile brightly, feeling more comforted already by her presence.Â
âHiya.â You say, putting the page down and returning to the ground from the bench you had been sitting on. Abbyâs eyes darken, her eyes moving down your body real slow and not returning to meet your eyes. She doesnât say anything and the silence is filled only by the click of the lock at the door.
âWhat are-â Youâre interrupted by Abby stalking up to you and kissing you deeply, moaning into it. You pull away, shocked.Â
âNeed you babyâŠâ The words come out muffled as she practically speaks into your neck, sucking it and making you let out an unexpected gasp.Â
âDidnât you tell Manny youâd meet him in- mmmâ You moan into yet another, breath stealing kiss. Wide eyed, you watch as she gets on her knees in front of you.
âNeed to eat you outâŠ.need to make you feel good please.â Face flushed, you nervously spread your legs and she smiles brightly.Â
âCan I?â Abby questions. You nod. âYes.â There was no other way to describe Abbyâs actions other than her diving head first into your cunt, tongue going 100 kms an hour over your clit. You gasp, gripping her hair and instinctively bucking your hips into her mouth.
She tastes you so eagerly, holding your thighs and digging her nails in a little. It was both pleasant and a little amusing when she got like this. At first Abby was highly against being rough in any way. âYour skins so softâŠyouâre so much smaller than me I-â she used to babble, but now that sheâs learnt how an eager grab or a few too many merciless thrusts turned you on more than anything, she doesnât hold back hardly as much as she used to.
âCl-close Abby.â You moan out, still a little confused at how fast this situation came about. She moans into you, as if urging you to finish all over her. Your body didnât need much convincing though, as you could feel your stomach tighten in knots, your legs clamping around her and thighs shaking as you cum hard. She eases up her licking but doesnât move, allowing you to ride out your high (and her face) as much as you needed.
She eases away from you, putting you in a comfortable position on the bench.Â
âThat wasâŠunexpected.â You say, still noticeably lightheaded. She tilts her head, eyes lingering across various parts of your body hungrily.Â
âTake the rest off.â She commands, her voice low. You comply, beginning to remove your top. Abby shakes her head.
âNot like that. Slow.â She says, walking over to where she had carelessly chucked her bag and pulling out a familiarâŠaccessory. You had wondered where she even had the time to get that, or whether she had brought the strap with her all the way to and from patrol just to save her the walk to her dorm and back. You didnât want to ask her about it though. She wasnât in a talking mood, if the simple worded sentences were any indication.Â
You take off your bra and Abby tilts her head back, eyes shut tight as she tries to contain her excitement and arousal.Â
âFuck.â Is all Abby manages once she finally opens her eyes again. âGorgeous.âÂ
You step towards her and her large hands are immediately all over you as she leverages your body effortlessly, holding you up against the wall by your thighs. You laugh at the action.
âGood thing you never skip arm day, huh Abigail?â You tease. She canât help but smile back this time.Â
ââArm dayâ huh?â She mocks. You shrug.Â
âI donât know what itâs calledâŠâ You try to defend, but at this point she isnât really listening as her fingers are moving through your folds.
âMmmâŠyâfeel wet enough to me my loveâŠcan I fuck you or yâneed something else first?â She asks. You shake your head.Â
âJust put it in meâŠpleaseâŠâ You sigh out, and the relief on her face is precious. You can tellâŠor moreâŠfeel how bad Abby wanted this. And so, in the gentlest way known to man, Abby softly guides the strap into you, shoving more and more when she sees how good you take it.
âMâ not gonna move yetâŠIâll let you adjust to the feeling of my cock inside you before IâŠ.â She hesitates, knowing the rest of the sentence should be âfuck you till your screaming.â âYou know.â She decides to say instead. You nod, moving your hips around it slightly for comfort. You nod again, allowing her to continue.Â
âAlright, you remember the safe word?â You laugh at the question, but her face remains quite serious.Â
âYes Abby, I remember the safe word from the past 100 times weâve had sex this week-â
âIâm being serious.â
âAs am I.â You say, and she just sighs. âIâm gonna be rough.â She explains. You smile reassuringly at her.Â
âGood.â
And with that, she starts slamming up into you, enjoying watching your body get pushed up the wall with each thrust. Still holding you quite well with one hand, Abby pins the other above your head, gripping it tightly.Â
âMine.â She says, and you almost donât hear it.Â
âWhâŠat?â You question, your voice straining with all the movement. She sighs, embarrassed.Â
âAbbâŠmmpphâŠâÂ
âSome. guy.â Abby starts to explain, still fucking you so perfectly. âTalked about you in a way I wonât dignify with words. Wanted to fuckâŠmmph..â Abbyâs still holding you tight. You smile at her. âMâ yours AbsâŠIâm allâŠ.fucking yoursâŠ.ohfuckâŠ.â
Abbyâs moving so hard and fast, pushing up into you in all the right fucking ways.
âYouâre my fucking plaything. Can do anything I want to this pretty pussy whenever I want right?â
âYes Abby.â You tell her, and she digs her nails into your thighs harder, making you moan.Â
âI fucking love you. Love fucking you too.â Abby continues to say. The sounds of your bodies connecting is so loud, youâre worried other people nearby can hear, but Abby hasnât cared before and certainly wonât begin to care now.Â
âGonna give you my kidâŠmake sure youâre nice and fucking bred by the time Iâm done with you.âAnd there it was. The breeding thing Abby liked to never fucking talk about. Always in denial she was into this kind of thing until she had you like this. Quite literally in a position where you were unable to ask questions.Â
âTake itâŠfucking take- mmmâŠâ Abby moans, her voice sounding more high pitched and desperate as she got closer. You werenât far off either, a few more praises or degradations would have sent you off the edge, you were certain of that.
âSuch a good. fucking. girl.â And with that, your eyes shut tightly as you claw into the skin of Abbyâs back under her shirt. She leans down to kiss you and youâre moaning into each other for what feels like eons.
She finally lets you down, removing the soaked strap.Â
âWeâre umâŠprobably gonna have to clean that.â Abby remarks, causing you both to laugh.Â
âYou donât think anyone heard us do you?â You ask her, and she puts her large palms on either side of your face.
âMy pretty girlâŠ.probably.â She confesses, and you hit her playfully.Â
âYou suck at comforting people you know that?â She tilts her head, leaning into your ear.
âOh you donât really believe that, do you?â

Chapter II - Grief; The Latest Trend
SUMMARY: Angelica is trying to grieve her late girlfriend but is interrupted by yet another patrol. After a bit she considers the interruption to have been a good thing, it gave her time to bond with Ellie while partaking in some âextra-curricularsâ. Before they can partake in anymore Jesse and Dina show up in a slight panic. Joel and Tommy werenât at the look out? Once they split up it doesnât take long for them to figure out why.
Angelica's POV
Iâd done decently well adjusting to life in Jackson. The only thing that really stressed me out was the infected we encountered on patrols. Youâd think Iâd be used to seeing them by now but it seemed like everytime they irked me more. Aside from the few infected, patrols were peaceful. I did a lot of them with Ellie, I liked her company. Ellie was easy to talk to after I realized sheâs a total nerd. Sheâs simple, she likes dinosaurs and those savage starlight comics. She also shared her weed with me whenever we took breaks so that was a plus.
Speaking of Ellie and weed itâd be kinda nice right now. Instead Iâve been sitting on my bathroom floor for the past..two hours? I think. I really needed to get up. I needed to stop thinking about Julia, get ready for patrol and all that. Right, patrol. Patrol with Ellie just what I was hoping for.
I pulled myself up and quickly washed my face. Thankfully my eyes werenât red and puffy like they had been yesterday. I changed quickly, checked my ammo, and grabbed my pack before heading out the door. Jesse was the only one at the gates when I got there, he seemed tired.
âLong night?â I asked as Cassie(the horse) came to a stop.
He nods âLooong night, you missed a lot last nightâ
âYou and Dina get back together early?â I joke.
âNah weâre done for good this timeâ He confirms, it was bound to happen soon.
Before I can speak again Dina and Ellie trot up behind us. Jesse explains that Ellie and I will be taking the creek trail while he takes the new one with Dina (something like that I forget how this went in game). Once heâs done we head off on our separate ways.
The first few minutes are quiet as we make our way to the first checkpoint. Itâs a comfortable silence, nothing felt wrong. Eventually Ellie broke the silence, she can never stay quiet for long.
âWanna tell me whatâs going on?â She asks, slowing to ride beside me.
âHuh?â I ask, looking over at her.
âYouâre uh..I donât know you just seem offâ She mumbles.
I blink at her for a moment âUh, itâs nothing El, Iâm alrightâ
âAngel if you were alright you wouldâve been at the Tipsy Bison last nightâ
She was right, it was unlike me to miss events. She knew me just well enough for it to be frustrating.
âItâs nothing bigâ I mutter âCâmon weâre almost thereâ
I hear Ellie sigh beside me but she doesnât press. We check in a move onto the next point, not wanting to waste time. We donât make much progress before the snow gets worse. We head into an old library and stock up on anything we can find. Ellie ends up finding a closed off area and holy shit there was a lot of weed there.
We find some pre-rolled joints and some matches then decide to get comfortable. I sit on the couch and she leans against me. Thereâs nothing but small talk as we pass the joint back and forth. After it burns down to a bud Ellie puts it out. We relax against each other, basking in the euphoric feeling. Until Ellie opens her mouth again.
âSo..ready to talkâ she asks, looking up at me.
âHm..this week has just got me a little fucked upâ I mutter. I can feel her looking at me expectantly so I continue. âFew days ago was Juliaâs birthday, yesterday wouldâve been our two yearsâ
âJulia?â she murmurs as if sheâs trying to remember.
âMy girlfriend..well she was, till the fuckin infected got herâ I murmur the last bit.
âOh shitâ she mutters.
Ellieâs quiet for a moment, Iâd assume she doesnât know what to say.
âIâm uh..Iâm sorry about that Angelâ she says quietly, adjusting against me.
âsâalright, Iâve been better today, yesterday was uh..not my best dayâ
âYeah, guess it wasnât a good day for anybody huhâ she jokes but I can tell she had a rough time too.
âOh? Is this what Jesse meant when he said I âmissed a lotâ last night?â I ask, finally opening my eyes to look at her.
âMhmm, it was..â she trails off and sighs âI kissed Dina, then got in a fight with Joelâ she sighs.
âAre those two things related?â I ask.
She nods âAfter I kissed Dina, Seth opened his big mouth and Joel pushed himâ
âSo..Seth was being a bigot and Joel defended you and you got in a fight with himâ I summarize the situation and she nods. âWhyâd you get in a fight with Joel for defending youâ
She huffs âI donât know I just..I was angryâ I could see her getting frustrated, sheâd probably already gotten a lecture from Maria or somebody else about this.
âHey..Iâm not gonna lecture you, I just wanted to try and understand betterâ I speak gently.
She nods and relaxes into me, it was nice seeing her so calm. We didnât get to relax much longer because Jesse and Dina came hurdling downstairs.
âWhat are the two of y- is that weed?!â Jesse asks as we both try to hurry off the couch.
âThere was a snow storm outside, we thought weâd kill some timeâ Ellie explains, âand why arenât you at the look outâ she asks, grabbing her pack.â
âCause Tommy and Joel never showed upâ Jesse snaps.
The room goes quiet for a moment.
âWe need to split up and look for themâ Dina announces.
We all head back upstairs and head off on our horses. I end up finding Jesse after a short while and we stick together. He said itâd be best to find the others while weâre at it.
âJesse, their horses are over hereâ I call out to him.
He ties up our horses next to theirs and we head towards the nearby house. We hurried inside and heard Dina yelling from downstairs. Jesse insisted on going in front of me as we made our way to her. He stopped art the bottom of the stairs and I could just see Dina holding Ellie who had * on her face. Jesse slowly made his way over to them. When I step fully into the room I see Joel, or what used to be Joel. His face was..mutilated..* was everywhere.
Ellie was crying into Dinaâs arms, Jesse was trying to check on Tommy. I stood frozen, my gaze went from Joel to Ellie to Tommy again and again. After a moment I heard Jesse calling my name. I helped him tend to Joelâs corpse and tried to block out Ellieâs cries. I couldnât bear listening to her, not when she was like this.
By the time weâd wrapped his body Tommy had woken up. Once he was fully coherent he helped Jesse with Joelâs body. I watched them carry him up the stairs before turning back to Ellie and Dina. Sheâd stopped sobbing but I could still see the tears dripping down to her chin. I could tell Dina was trying to keep from crying, she wanted to be there for Ellie but she also needed to grieve. Grief seemed to be the latest trend this week.
âCan youn um..can you help her while I go ask Tommy about somethingâ Dina asked quietly. I nodded and took her place beside Ellie.
Ellie leaned against me, trying to steady out her breathing. âHey..â I get her attention, âLook at me El..breathe with me..â I whispered to her. I can hear the shakiness in her breath as she tries.
âHere..â I place her hand on my sternum. âFeel it..â I ask, eyes darting between our hand and her eyes.
She nods âYeah..yeah I feel itâ she murmurs, closing her eyes. I hear her breathing steady out and let go of her wrist.
She leaves her hand there for a moment, like sheâs not sure if sheâll be okay without it. I watch her as she opens her eyes and looks around the room.
âThey already took care of him..theyâre probably waiting for us.â I explain to her.
She nods and pulls herself up, holding her hand out to me. I smile slightly and accept her help. We walk upstairs and see theyâve brought our horses down too.
âEllie youâre gonna ride with Angelicaâ Tommy says, making sure Joel is secured to the back of his horse.
Before we can say anything about it Ellie catches sight of Joel. I see how she almost breaks again. âCâmonâ I nudge her, and motion to Cassie. I pull myself up onto her and pull Ellie up behind me. On the ride back to Jackson I can feel her leaning against my back, I can tell her head is turned so she can see Joel. God I feel horrible. If we hadn't of been smoking maybe we would've been able to stop this.

Chapter IV - The Aquarium
~ April 4th 2038
Abby didnât return back to Junoâs room last night, nor did she return to her own. Manny claimed that he hadnât seen her since they left the FOB but Juno didnât exactly believe that. Owen also happened to be missing. At least if they were together they were safe. Juno hoped they were safe. She decided she needed to ask Manny again. Maybe he didnât tell yesterday because of all the people around. Now she could knock two birds with one stone or something like that. She could see if Abby was there and if she wasnât sheâd ask Manny where sheâd run off too.
When Juno arrives she knocks gently on their door. When Manny opens the door he looks a little surprised.Â
âHey Manny, I uh, I just came to see if Abby was backâ she explains. Manny sighs softly and motions for her to come in. When she realizes Abby is in fact not here she frowns and turns back to Manny. âLook Iâll tell you where she is but you canât go blabbing okay?âÂ
She nods âI wonât say a wordâÂ
âShe went off to the aquarium, by the ferris wheelâ He tells her quietly.
âIs that where Owen is too?â she asks tentatively.
Manny nods âYou canât tell anybody though, theyâll go after him for shooting Dannyâ he warns.
âOkay..I wonât say anything, cover for me?âÂ
Manny huffs softly but agrees. He knew even he said no that Juno would leave to find Abby and Owen. She thanks him before leaving to pack her things. After around an hour she leaves the same way Manny said to.Â
She assumes sheâs going the way Abby went because of the lack of infected. On her way to the aquarium she has to sneak past a few scars. Theyâre talking about some apostate, at least thatâs what she thinks she heard. She manages to get past them and closer to the aquarium. Juno makes her way through the last of the shrubbery and to the aquarium doors. She boosts herself up through the small window and makes her way inside.Â
âOwen..?â She calls out, following up with, âAbby?â
When sheâs met with silence she progresses further inside until she finds Owen and Mel arguing in hushed tones. She sits and listens for a moment but it seems sheâs too late.
âGod arguing with you is always so pointless Owenâ Mel snaps.
âThatâs because we donât sit down and talk anymoreâ Owen snaps back.
âCause you always lie to meâ She yells at him and the room goes quiet.Â
After a moment Mel turns to leave and sees Juno in the doorway. She almost feels bad that the younger girl had been standing there. Juno looks between the two of them, sheâs starting to feel awkward. After Mel walks past her she goes up to Owen.
âWhat was that about..?â She asks hesitantly.
âNothingâ He says firmly.
Juno nods slowly before speaking again, âAny clue where Abby is?â
âShe just left, no clue if sheâll be back anytime soon, or at allâ Owen murmurs the last bit.
âYou get into a fight with her too?â Her tone has a bit more bite to it than she intended.Â
âSeriously Juno?â He frowns at her.
âSorry sorry, It just sounded like something was wrong between you guys tooâ She explains.
Owen sighs and sits down. He eases his sister's nerves telling her that everything will be fine soon. They go on to talk about what happened with Danny, how the scars are getting closer. They also talk about normal things though, how theyâve been and other normal sibling stuff. It's been years since they sat down and talked like this. Hell Itâs been so long the fireflies were still up and running. After a little while longer Owen got up to make some food for the both of them and Mel. In his absence Juno went to talk with Mel. Maybe it was a little invasive but she wanted to know what had happened.
âHey Melâ Juno softly calls out from the doorway.
Mel looks over her shoulder at her, tensing a bit.Â
Juno speaks up again âJust wanted to check in, and um..I also wanted to ask what that was aboutâ
âOwen didnât tell you?â Mel asks, looking back at the water.
âNah..he said it was nothing, but obviously it was somethingâ
âThatâs typical for him I guessâ Mel sighs before continuing âWell..to be blunt he slept with Abby last nightâ Juno freezes up behind her, unable to speak up. âI didnât even really accuse him, he accidentally ratted himself out.â she explains.
âThey..slept together?â Juno asks, praying she somehow heard wrong.
Mel nods âYeah, I can barely believe it eitherâ she turns to look at the blonde.
Mel looks like sheâs barely holding herself together. Juno is trying to comprehend it all. She knows she shouldnât really be mad at Abby but she is.
âSheâll probably be back soonâ Mel says.
Juno nods âAlright, Owen um..made food by the way, itâll probably be done soonâ
A few hours later Alice started barking at something while Mel and Juno were still eating. They both got up and headed towards Alice. As they got closer they could hear Owen and Abbyâs panicking voices.Â
âAlice!â Mel called out, silencing the dog.
âLev put your bow downâ Abby spoke warily, âItâs okayâ
âWho are those kidsâ Juno asked, peeking over Owenâs shoulder
âLook, they saved my lifeâ Abby explains.
âTheyâre scars Abbyâ Owen snaps.
Juno swats at his shoulder âThat doesnât matterâ
They bicker for a moment before Mel interrupts them. Abby introduces the kids as Lev and Yara. Thereâs another short silence and then Mel motions for Abby to follow her. They lay Yara down and talk about what they need to amputate her arm. Since they had practically nothing at the aquarium Abby said sheâd head out with Lev. Juno was about to offer to come but decided against it. She knew that now wasnât a good time to talk to Abby about last night.Â
When Abby returns with the supplies Mel is quick to start the procedure. Owen was..somewhere..which left Juno, Abby, and Lev. Lev wasnât up for long, falling asleep against the wall while he waited for Yara. This left Abby and Juno.
âHey..â Juno murmurs, walking up behind Abby.
âHey Junâ Abby turns to look at the shorter blonde.
Theyâre both quiet for a moment. Surprisingly, Abby breaks the silence this time. âYou seem angryâ she points out.
âI..I am..Iâm also a little hurtâ She nearly whispers, sheâs never been this vulnerable with Abby.
âDid..um..something happen while I was goneâ Abby asks.
âSort of, I found out something while you were goneâ Juno pauses, âIâd bet you know what I mean alreadyâ
Abby sighs, Juno canât tell if itâs regret, frustration, or both.
âLook..it was a shitty thing to do..It wasnât supposed to happenâ Abby starts off, âI know Mel is angry at us a-
âIâm not worried about Mel right nowâ Juno interrupts.
They both pause, Abby isnât sure what this is about now.
âI..dammit..itâs stupid..but I thought..we..youâ Juno stops and takes a breath. She wasnât sure how she was supposed to do this.Â
âYou thought whatâ Abby asks tentatively.
Juno takes another breath, sheâs started to tremble. âI think I just got the wrong idea over the past monthâÂ
âJun..â Abby trails off, not sure what to say.
âI just thought that..yknow..the feelings were mutualâ her voice cracks.
Abby feels her heart drop as she hears Junoâs breath catch. She looks down at her, not sure how to comfort her.Â
âOwen and I arenât like thatâ she says after a moment.
âBut..you-
Abby stops her âIt was a weak moment, I regretted it the second it was overâÂ
Juno finally looks up at her, her own eyes wet with unshed tears. Without a second thought Abby pulls her in, holding her close. They both relax a bit in each other's arms. Juno was still unsure about how Abby felt.Â
Abby pulls back just enough to wipe Junoâs tears. âWeâll figure all of this out soon okayâ she speaks softly. Juno nods in response, relaxing further into Abbyâs arms. She was more hopeful now than she had been a few hours ago.
Chapter I - Not Quite Seattle
SUMMARY: Angelica and Juliettaâs plan was to get to the WLF, a group of (according to Juliettaâs father) old fireflies. With less than a month of travel time left Juliette gets infected. Angelica travels on her own until she tires herself out. She blacks out and next thing she knows sheâs in a room with and dark haired man and an auburn haired, freckled girl who are offering to bring her to âJacksonâ
AUGUST 30 2037 - PIERRE SD
Angelicaâs pov
Thereâs too much open space in this damn city. Too many infected and too much sun. I looked over at Jules who was laying on the couch opposite of me. She looked so peaceful but so uncomfortable at the same time. She almost looked like a shrimp because of her sunburn.
âHey babe..â I called out to her. Julia opens her eyes and looks over at me. I stifle a laugh before speaking again. âYou look like a shrimpâ
She feigns offense before snapping back âYeah? Well you look like a lobsterâ
âI do not- do I seriously?â I ask in a quieter tone, now concerned for my appearance.
She nods with a chuckle as she pulls herself up from the couch. I watch her start to gather her things, admiring the smoothness in her motions. I pull myself up and grab my own stuff.
âCâmon, we arenât gonna get across the country just sitting here.â Julia smiles, stepping up onto the ledge, holding her hand out to me.
I grab her hand and pull myself up, carefully dropping down from the window. We make it to one of those âWelcome to the cityâ signs before we hit another group of infected. Itâs a rough fight, far too many clickers for my liking. We manage it though. After the last one drops Julia takes a minute to lean back against a light pole.Â
âIâm clean, you?â I pant, looking over at her.
âI..Iâm cleanâ Julia breathes, pushing herself upright.
âGood..câmon letâs make the most of the sunlightâ I push, holding her hand out to her.
We continue down the quieter streets as we get through half of the next city. Making it to Washington was not going to be easy. Juliaâs dad better have been right about this âWLFâ.Â
After just a few more hours we both start to slow down. We needed a break. Julia points out what looks like a convenience shop. We pry the boards off the door but before I can try opening it Julia stops me.Â
Thereâs this look in her eyes. Guilt? Regret? Well, those are nearly the same arenât they.
Her next words are probably the worst thing Iâve ever heard.
âAngel..I got bitâ she utters, her eyes downcast.
My breath hitches, for a moment I canât bring myself to speak. I feel my cheeks become wet with tears. âNo..â I finally choke out. âNo, no youâre lyingâ She couldnât be bit.
She brings me into her arms, guiding my head to the crook of her neck. I sob against her skin, balling my fists in her shirt. âThis isnât how it was supposed to go..â I whisper through tears âWeâre supposed to do this together Jules..We have to make it to Seattle..â
âYouâll make it..â She murmurs.
âWe were supposed to make it! Not just me..It was supposed to be us. Itâs always been us!!â I yell at her. I want to keep yelling. Tell her sheâs stupid for getting bit, tell her that she shouldâve told me sooner. We couldâve amputated it. We couldâve made it.Â
âAngel..promise youâll make it to the WLF..actually, fuck that.. just make it to a civilization, somewhere safe. I just want you to make it. I want you to live for meâ She whispers to me.Â
She runs her fingers through my hair, trying but failing to soothe me. Occasionally she whispers a âsorryâ and an âi love youâ. I canât do anything but sob and tell her I love her too while I hold her.
âGet insideâ she pleads.
âNo..no Iâm not going without youâ I cling onto her harder, I canât let go.
I feel her shifting in my arms and next thing I know thereâs a loud crack. Something warm has splattered on the side of my face. I donât have to look to know itâs Juliaâs blood. Suddenly my arms drop and along with them Julia crumbles to the ground. Blood spills out around her head, staining the road. I sink to my knees beside her still warm body. I watch the blood pour out, not crying or moving.Â
I donât know how long I sat there before I finally moved. The first thing I do is take her firefly pendantÂ
I spend the next week or so traveling nearly nonstop. Pushing myself to the brink of passing out before I take a break. Fighting against infected in this state was certainly not ideal. Iâve ended up writing letters to Julia, telling her things I hadnât gotten the chance to tell her, asking questions I never had the guts to ask. I did all this even though I knew Iâd get no answer. No new information. The only new thing I had now was August 30th. A day that no matter how hard I want to, I will never be able to forget.
By now Iâve been walking for nearly 10 hours. Iâm starting to get dizzy, my exhaustion is weighing heavier on me. I canât stop. I push myself for another hour or so before my body gives up and I pass out. The next thing I know is Iâm waking up in a dimly lit room on a mildly uncomfortable couch. Thereâs two other people in the room. A man with dark hair and a girl with auburn hair. I jerk up into a sitting position, reaching for my gun only to find it isnât there.Â
âHey woah woahâ The dark haired guy slowly stood up, his hand raised slightly.
My breaths were heavy as I pressed further back into the couch. I look between both of them. Both of them seem cautious but also concerned.
âWeâre not going to hurt youâ The guy speaks up again.
âWho the hell are youâ I snap.
âIâm Jesse, this is Ellieâ he pauses like heâs waiting for me to speak. When I stay quiet he continues. âWe found you passed out in the woods just a couple miles awayâÂ
I studied them both before relaxing slightly. If they wanted to kill me they wouldâve already. Right..?
âYou can come back to Jackson with us, unless youâve got family somewhere elseâ Jesse spoke again.
âJackson..?â I ask tentatively.
âItâs where weâre from, itâs just a small town over the hillâ Ellie explains.
I consider it for a moment, before nodding slightly. âOkay..They wonât mind you bringing back a um a stranger?â
Ellie shakes her head âMaria will question you a bit but sheâll be happy to see a new faceâÂ
âSheâd be even happier to put a name to that faceâ Jesse chirps up, reminding me that I havenât given them my name.
âItâs Angelicaâ I speak up a bit more, feeling a bit more safe with these strangers.
They lead me out to their horses and Jesse helps me onto his. The ride back to their town is short but feels like forever. When we arrive at the gates they let us in and this blonde woman meets us at the stables. I assume this is Maria, she seems to be in charge around here.Â
âWhoâs thisâ she asks in a firm tone.
âThis is Angelica, Ellie and I found her passed out not too far from hereâ Jesse explains.
Maria gives me a once over âWell you donât seem like much troubleâ
Iâm not sure if I should be relieved or offended by her statement.
She motions for me to follow and I do so. She asks me more questions as she shows me around. I answer all of them truthfully and by the time weâre finished we arrive at an empty looking home.Â
âThis is where youâll be staying, itâs furnished and thereâs a few coats inside but not much elseâ she says, pulling a small notepad from her pocket and a pencil. She hands it to me before speaking again âMake me a list of your sizes and any allergies you may have and Iâll bring by somethings for youâÂ
I quickly right down the list before handing it back to her.Â
âPerfect, now you remember where the medical center is?â She asks.
âYes maâamâ I nod.Â
âJust call me Mariaâ she smiles, âI want you to head down there and get checked out, you seem a little underweightâ
Now that she mentioned it, I probably am underweight. I nod and we part ways. When I make it to the medical center thereâs only two people there who arenât workers. A tallish, old, blond man and a dark haired girl with some faint freckles. I didnât pay much mind to them, following the doctor who had appeared in front of me.
The doctor sat me down and took my vitals before asking if I had any pre-existing issues. I told her about my scoliosis and my chicken allergy. She jotted something down and told me I was free to go. I head back to the house Maria had shown me earlier. There were two boxes on the front porch with a note; âcome see me at the tipsy bison tomorrow morning if you need anything -Mariaâ. I smiled slightly, picking up the boxes and bringing them in. I spent the rest of my evening unpacking new clothes and other necessities that Maria had brought to me. I headed upstairs to the bedroom and saw that auburn haired girl walking into what looked like a garage. Her name is..um..El..Elaina? Elliot? Wait, Ellie! Her name was Ellie. She must be my neighbor for the time being.

âWeâll talk about it laterâÂ
The words rang in Abbyâs mind. They had been for the past two weeks. Juno had also been avoiding her for the past two weeks. She even went as far as changing the patrol partners behind Abbyâs back. Why would she do all of this? Why wouldnât she just tell Abby what the problem was? Why didnât she just say she didnât wanna talk about it? These were the questions Abby had been asking herself again and again. They grew close quickly once they learned to trust each other. Now they seemed to be growing apart. All because Juno was too scared of ruining it all.
Junoâs days of avoiding Abby come to their inevitable end when they both get called to the FOB. Abby arrives first, not knowing that Juno will also be arriving soon. When Juno does get there the two of them look at each other for just a moment and sheâs filled with regret. She knows Abbyâs been trying to contact her and she knows now thereâs no other choice. Isaac clears his throat and Juno takes a seat. Isaac wants them back on patrol together, to take out a Scar camp thatâs in WLF territory. Itâs clearly not optional.
After the meeting with Isaac they left the FOB and âcoincidentallyâ both headed for the mess hall. The walk there is unsurprisingly awkward. Theyâre quiet but not because they want to be.Â
âAbby..we should talk about this..â Juno murmured.Â
âLetâs get some food, then weâll go somewhere less crowdedâ Abby suggests.
Juno nods and follows after Abby. Once they get their food they head to the stadium and up to Junoâs room. They sit on the floor opposite of each other.Â
âSo..wanna tell me why youâve been avoiding me like the plague?â Abby questions in a casual tone.
Juno winces internally âLook..I..Iâve wanted to talk to you about it all. I canât though..âÂ
âWhy not? Is there somebody else involved or something?â Abby asks.
âYes, well..kinda?âShe questions her own words.
Abby doesnât say anything, looking at Juno with a hint of concern. Sheâs heard plenty from Owen about how hard it is for Juno to share her feelings with other people.
Juno takes a breath âI canât tell youâ she murmurs.
Abby sighs in frustration, debating whether or not to push the topic.Â
âIâm..Iâm sorry..This wasnât how I thought this would go..â she looked up at Abby, âbut you didnât do anything wrong, yâknowâ she murmurs, looking away again.
âRight..â Abby nods, not sure how to continue their conversation from this point. Sheâs not even sure if Juno wants to keep talking. âI..Iâll see you laterâ she sighs.
Juno watches as Abby gets up from her seat, watching her leave the mess hall.
~ April 3rd 2038
âThe scar camp shouldnât be that far from hereâ Abby utters, looking at the map Isaac provided.
âWeâre sure theyâre Scars and not some strangers.â Juno asks, keeping an eye out for any infected.
âWhy are you questioning it?â Abby snaps slightly.
âWell the guy who said something about it is blind in one eyeâ she starts off, âplus he said he saw it from a distanceâ
âWell if they arenât Scars weâll..I donât knowâ Abby huffs in frustration.
They continued making their way to the camp, remaining cautious of their surroundings. When they finally arrived at the camp they could see brown coats hanging from the tree limbs. They were likely being aired out from the recent rain.Â
âDefinitely Scars..â Juno mutters.Â
âThereâs only three coats..but there might be more of themâ Abby whispers, pulling her rifle off of her shoulder.
The two girls stalk closer to the camp, weapons at the ready. From their spot in the bushes they see two Scars emerge from one of the tents. Theyâre completely oblivious to the two wolves. Abby motions for Juno to ready her rifle as she does the same. They take their shots, both hitting the Scars square in the head. Two more emerge from the other tents, handguns at the ready. One of them manages to shoot Abby in the shoulder before both blondes take them out. Once theyâre sure nobody else is around, Juno speaks up.
âHey..sit down and let me patch you upâ Juno speaks softly, motioning to the tree stump behind Abby.
Abby nods, sitting down carefully. She moves her clothing to the side so Juno can help her. Juno sits in front of her and pulls out the small med pack she had in her bag. Once she finished she notices Abbyâs shins are pretty cut up from the thorns on the bushes theyâd been hiding in. Juno moves back and moves Abbyâs pant leg up.
âShit- I didnât even notice thatâ Abby murmured, looking down at her own legs and the other blondeâs hands.
Juno just hums in acknowledgment. She wipes off the blood before disinfecting the cuts and bandages them. Once sheâs finished she glances back up at Abby. They lock eyes but donât speak. The silence between them is thick with the weight of unspoken words. Neither girl can bring herself to speak. Juno gathers her things before standing. For a moment Abby watches her before getting up herself.Â
With their job completed they start to head back to the stadium. Just before they arrive Abby tentatively grabs Junoâs shoulder. âWait..â she whispers. Juno stops in her tracks, turning to face her. They lock eyes and Abby is almost at a loss for words.Â
âJuno..I need you to tell me why you were avoiding meâ she speaks louder than she had before.
Junoâs breath hitches âLetâs get inside..then I promise Iâll tell you..everythingâÂ
The two blondes sit on opposite ends of Junoâs bed. Juno keeps her eyes averted as she starts to speak. âSo..so basically um..â She stutters, starting to pick at her fingers.
Abby gently grabs Junoâs hands in her own, pulling them apart.
âRelax Jun.. you act like Iâm gonna bite your head offâ Abby jokes, trying to lighten the mood.Â
Juno takes a breath and looks up at Abby âIâm..We..um..I love youâ she says it like more of a question.
Abby looks at her for a moment before the realization hits her. âYouâre- oh- oh my godâ Before she can speak again thereâs a knock at the door.Â
âCome inâ Juno calls out before muttering something unintelligible.
Manny walks in and looks at Abby âThere you are, Iâve been looking for youâ he pauses and looks between them both âI didnât mean to interrupt but Isaac wants us at the FOB remember.âÂ
âRight, give us just a sec yeah?â Abby urges
Manny nods and walks back out. The blondes face each other again. âI promise, we can get into this again when I get backâÂ
Juno nods and watches Abby leave. She feels rejected even though she knows that isnât the case, at least not yet. At this point there was really no telling what Abby would say. Maybe she was disgusted, maybe she was happy, maybe sheâs confused.
Chapter II Reunion & Reflections
~ February 24th 2038
The âSalt Lake Crewâ has finally returned to the base. After about 4 months theyâre back and their goal has been accomplished.
For the past week or two Juno has been spending her free time close to the gate so that she could observe the people coming in. Well today was her lucky day. Just as she was getting comfortable the gate opened up and she saw Owen and Abby walk through with the others. She watched them walk to the medical center, deciding to let them settle back in before she went pestering them.
After a few hours Juno went looking for Owen but ended up finding Manny and Jordan instead.
âHey Juno,â Manny called out, seeing the lost look on her face âWhoâre you looking for?â He asks once he has her attention.
âOwen, any idea where he is?â She asks, looking between them both.
âHavenât seen him since we got backâ Jordan chimed in then looked at Manny for his answer. âMe either, your best best would be Mel or Abbyâ Manny pats her shoulder, âHope you find himâ
âThank you bothâ She smiles at the two men before heading off to the medical center.
She finds Mel at the medical center and asks her if sheâs seen Owen. Mel shakes her head and tells her he ran off before she could ask where he was going. Juno huffs and thanks her before running off. After a couple minutes of searching for both Owen and Abby she huffs and decides sheâll quit looking for now. Heâll come find her before night comes.
He did not come to find her before sunset. Abby did though. Well not exactly. Abby came to find her around 9pm.
A soft knock on the door pulled Junoâs focus away from her book. She got up from her chair and padded over to the door. She pulled it open expecting to see her brother but was pleasantly surprised by Abby instead.
âHey..Owen uh wanted me to check up on you, yâknow since we were goneâ Abby says, leaning against the door frame.
Juno smiles at the taller woman âIâm alright, how is he? I havenât actually talked to him since you guys got backâ
âHeâs alright, the trip shook all of us a bit so he just needs some time away from..everythingâ She explains.
Juno nods, âright, well Iâm glad heâs doing okayâ thereâs an awkward silence for a moment âHow are you doing?â she asks tentatively.
Abby doesnât answer immediately, âIâm okay, just a little sleep deprivedâ
âI bet, you should get to bed, get back on your sleep scheduleâ Juno suggests.
âYeah, youâre rightâ thereâs a pause in the blondeâs words, âIâll see you in the morning?â she asks.
Juno nods âYeah- yeah absolutelyâ she grins wider âgoodnight Abbyâ
âNight Junoâ Abby waves, walking off to her own room.
Juno watches the other woman walk off for a moment before turning back into her own bedroom. She takes a moment, thinking about the interaction. Sheâs only spent a month in total with Abby but something felt a little off. Maybe it was just because of the trip to Jackson. She said that everyone had been a little shaken up so maybe that was it.
~ March 2nd 2038
Juno thought she was losing it, she had to be losing it actually. There was no way she was starting to fall for Abby. Her brotherâs ex. There was no way. Except there was because she was absolutely falling for her. Day by day she became more infatuated with the older woman. Speaking of Abby, Juno had patrol with her in a few hours.
âJesus, again?â Juno murmurs to herself as she braids her hair, âIâm always on patrol with herâ
She complained as if she hated the older woman.
The next few hours went by quickly, so did the first half of patrol until Abby started asking questions.
âHey, Jun are you doing alrightâ Abby asks, holding up a garage door for Juno to duck under.
âHuh- yeah umâ Juno stops herself before she starts unnecessarily stuttering.
Abby gives her a once over âYouâre quietâ she states simply.
âI uh..Iâm just a little tiredâ It wasnât a lie but that wasnât why sheâd been so quiet.
â..Alright thenâ
The silence that follows is awkward but neither girl can dwell on it for long. Both of their thoughts are interrupted by the scream of an infected. They maneuver through the dimly lit building quietly, listening for any more screams or rustling. Along the way Abby used a shiv to take out a few unsuspecting Runners and Juno did the same with her bow. They were doing good until they came across a dim open room. The room was filled with an unsettling sound coming from the five Clickers inside. Two stood idly, in unnatural curled stances while the other three seemed to be searching. Abby took one in the corner while Juno shot the idle two with her bow. She aimed for the fourth one while Abby made her way to the fifth. Before Juno could steady her shot she was sent flying to the floor with the wind knocked out of her. A Stalker laid on top of her, trying to get a bite.
âShit-!â She gasped, trying to pry the creature off of her. âCome on, get off!â
The last two Clickers in the room started to make their way towards Juno. Abby took them out with her rifle before rushing to help Juno with the Stalker. She kicked it off before shooting it in the head. Juno took a moment to gather herself before taking Abbyâs hand and standing.
âAre you bit?â Abby asks a bit impatiently.
âI'm cleanâ Juno confirms, grabbing her own rifle and scanning the room.
It was quiet. Eerily quiet.
âKeep an eye outâ Abby murmurs.
They move forward, cautious of any dark corners or doorways. The building is still and silent as they progress. It seems empty but something is screaming at Juno telling her it isnât. Her grip in her rifle is tight. The next room they enter is a mess, thereâs clutter and furniture scattered throughout the room. Abby starts to take her next step but Juno grabs her shoulder, her other hand motioning to the rusted filing cabinet. Or rather whatâs beside it. Thereâs a figure hunched beside it. It wasnât a Clicker from what they could see. It likely wasnât a Runner either. Was it a person? Or was it just a Stalker in plain sight?
The figure's head shot up as Juno took a step forward. The room became still and they realized it was indeed another person. They both relaxed slightly but didnât lower their weapons. Before either girl could speak, the stranger sprung towards them. Without hesitation Abby raised her rifle and took the shot. The crack of the gun was followed by the thud of the body then again, silence.
âCome on..we gotta finish clearing the building..â Abby mutters, clearly a bit shaken up.
Juno follows after her. The building seems still again as they venture upstairs. The silence between them is full of stolen glances, some of concern, others of desire. The silence is broken by the cracking of floor boards beneath them.
Before either of them can get to a more solid spot the flooring caves in. Right through the previous floor as well. They end up in what they can only assume is a basement.
âUgh..this seems to be a trend around here..falling through floorsâ Abby grunts, trying to pull her bag out from under the debris.
âYeah seems like i-â Juno cuts herself off as she hears the familiar clicking. âAbby..â she whispers.
Abby moves quickly but quietly, pulling Juno into the far corner. Both of their bags are still stuck in the debris but there wasnât time to grab either of them yet. The girls are flush against each other back-to-front. Juno reaches for the gun in her thigh holster but realizes she lost it in the fall.
âShit..â she murmurs, opting for the switchblade tucked into her waistband instead.
She peels her body away from Abbyâs with hesitance, lurking towards the Clicker. She takes it out from behind and lays it down. After listening for more infected they stand up and grab their bags. After a few minutes they get back to the floor they arrived on.
âAlright, time to get the fuck outta hereâ Juno murmurs.
âYou couldnât be more rightâ Abby huffs, leading the way to the door.
Once theyâre out they decide to take a breather. They sit down against a tree in the more open area, leaning against each other.
Juno finally breaks the silence âThank youâ she nearly whispers. Her eyes are closed and her head is leaned back against the stump. Abby looks down at her before responding with a soft âfor what?â. Juno huffs in slight amusement at the other girlâs question âFor saving my lifeâ
âOh..anytime Junâ Abby smiles slightly.
Juno opens her eyes to look at the other blonde and her face flushes slightly. They were too close. She sits up, turning to face Abby while also backing up. More silence falls over the two of them.
âYouâre too quietâ Abby points out.
âThought you liked the quiet?â Juno asks.
âNot with youâ Her face says that she doesnât realize what sheâs saying until after sheâs said it.
They look at each other for a moment before Juno clears her throat and speaks up again. âWe should head back..â
âJuno-â Abby starts but gets cut off by the smaller woman âLater..we..weâll talk about it later.â
Abby nods, showing that she respects her decision. The walk back to the base is quiet, they donât run into any more infected. Thankfully they donât run into any Scars either. They part ways after arriving back, Juno going off to find Owen and Abby going to her shared room.
Juno ends up finding Owen in the mess hall, he looks like heâs waiting for somebody.
âHey, Owen, can we talk?â She slides into the seat across from him.
âYeah- you look a little stressedâ He comments, studying his sisterâs face.
âA little more than a littleâ she murmurs, she takes a breath before continuing âI kinda donât wanna say it now..jesusâ
âCâmon it canât be horribleâ he reassures.
âWould you consider me..being in love with your ex as horrible?â she asks hesitantly.
Owenâs jaw drops âare you serious?â There's no anger behind his words, just pure shock.
âYeah..â she puts her face in her hands.
Owen takes a breath before continuing. He assures Juno that he isnât upset with her before anything else. He tells her that if thatâs the way she wants to go then go for it. She almost canât believe her ears. When Mel shows up she takes it as her sign to leave but not before saying bye to the both of them. She heads back to her own room with things to reflect on and things to prepare for.
Chapter I 'Finding the Light'
~ September 12th 2037
Juno struggled against the arms that held her down, kicking and screaming. She refused to let this happen. She couldnât let them die when they were so close to that base.
Just a few feet away she was watching their nearly limp bodies get beat into the floor by these traders. Traders that claimed her parents âsold them shortâ.
âLeave them aloneâ she pleaded, nearly choking on her own sobs âplease..hic..donât kill themâ she couldnât even scream anymore because of how long sheâd been screaming for them to stop.
The man blocking the door pulled his gun on Juno but was stopped by the one holding her down. He claimed there was no need to kill the kid. Juno could tell they were arguing but couldnât tell what they were saying. Her eyes were locked on the sight before her, her head was pounding. Before she knew it the men were fleeing, the only sounds left were her own cries, shuffling down the hall, and whistling. She quickly moved to where her parents' bodies laid, carelessly thrown beside each other.
âMaâŠ.Ma..Dad..?â Her voice trembled as did her body âNo..dammit no..please..please I still need you..â she sobbed harder, hiccuping and coughing. She leaned back against the wall, pulling her knees to her chest. âNoâŠno..no please, please come back..pleaseâ She pleads, rocking herself until she inevitably falls asleep.
~ September 20th 2037
Juno approaches the gates of the WLF base. Limping due to a sprained ankle that hasnât been treated properly yet. Sheâs stopped by soldiers before she can get too close to it.
âPlease..Iâm..Iâm just looking for my brother, Owenâ She explains to them.
Two of the soldiers share a glance before nodding. âOpen the gate, sheâs just one girl, plus sheâs injuredâ One of them speaks up.
Junoâs eyes light up with hope. Heâs here. They open up the gate and one of them leads her to the medical center. âMel, can you fix up her ankle and these cuts, I gotta go find Owenâ
The dark haired woman, supposedly named Mel, looked between the soldier and Juno. She nods before motioning for Juno to follow after. The two of them head back to an empty space for Mel to work. Juno sits down and Mel starts to work on her ankle. After a while the soldier comes back with Owen and a woman.
âJuno..?â He asks hesitantly, studying the frail looking girl in front of him. The blond to his right also studied her.
Juno hesitates as well before speaking, âOwen?â
Owen surges forward, pulling Juno into his arms. Mel and the blonde woman share a glance of confusion before looking back at the pair. They hold each other before Owen steps back to get a look at her.
âHowâd all this happen?â He eyes a particular set of stitches on her bicep.
âSome traders to us on the way hereâ Juno explains, her voice quiet.
âUs?â Owen asks, his eyes darting around the room for a moment. âMom and dad are with you?â Juno shakes her head at her brotherâs second question. She couldnât bring herself to speak, to tell him what happened. She didn't have to though. He could tell by the pained look on her face. âOh Jun..â

Rain poured in sheets over Seattle, swallowing the city's broken skyline in a haze of grey. You and Dina had been on the move for hours, darting through ruins in search of supplies. Ellie had gone ahead to scout, but you and Dina had been tasked with clearing the east wing of an old hotelâthe one that creaked like it could collapse any second.
Dina's flashlight flickered across the hallway as she glanced back at you. âYou good?â
âPeachy,â you replied, offering her a crooked smile. You tried to play it off, but your heart was thudding. Not from fear of infectedâbut from her.
She was beautiful, even in the worst of it. Eyes sharp and warm, always alert. Lips youâd stared at too long. And though the two of you had never said it, not in words, it was always there between you. In the glances. The lingering touches. The way her hand would sometimes brush yours, and neither of you would pull away.
The hotelâs moan interrupted your thoughts.
âI hear something,â Dina said. Her voice dropped to a whisper. âBasement. You go left, Iâll loop right?â
You nodded, heart sinking.
Five minutes later, you were pinned between a pair of infected and a failing security door. Dina shouted through the radioâshe was on the other side, but the horde was between you now. You ran, feet slamming into wet tile, until you hit the emergency lockdown switch on instinct.
The door began to close.
â(Y/N)!â Dinaâs voice crackled. She was closeâtoo close.
You looked back. She was sprinting, eyes wild, arm outstretched. Behind you, the infected closed in.
âNo!â she screamed. âDonât close it! Iâm right here!â
Your hand hovered over the override.
âI love you,â you whisperedâtoo quiet for her to hear. âThatâs why.â
Then you hit the button. The door slammed shut, cutting off her scream.
Her fists pounded the metal as you stumbled back, already pulling your knife. The infected rounded the corner and you screamed her name once before the fight swallowed you whole.
Thenâblack.
You woke up in a truck bed outside the city, barely breathing, ribs broken, blood caking your clothes. A patrol had found youâbut you didnât ask where Dina was. You were too ashamed.
She thought you were dead.
Good.
Let her hate you. Let her move on. Because at least she was alive.
You spent weeks healing. Every day felt like penanceâuntil one morning, unable to carry the weight of her absence, you did what you swore you wouldnât.
You went back to Jackson.
You looked nothing like yourself. Thinner. Bruised. Limps where there werenât any before. You didnât expect to be recognized.
But she was thereâDinaâon the watchtower.
When she saw you, she froze. Her rifle slipped from her shoulder, clattering to the floor. Then she was running.
You barely had time to open your arms before she crashed into you.
And then her fist slammed into your jaw.
You hit the ground, dazed. Her scream pierced the air.
âYou selfish piece of shit!â
You didnât get up.
âYou left me! I begged youâbeggedâand you shut that door anyway!â
âI had to,â you croaked. âThey wereââ
âI donât care!â she shouted, sobbing now. âYou let me think you were dead. Every day, I thoughtâI thoughtââ
She collapsed beside you, fists clenched.
âI couldn't lose you,â you whispered.
âYou lost me anyway.â
Silence stretched. Only your broken breathing and her sobs remained.
Then, quietly, she asked, âDid you mean it?â
âWhat?â
She looked at you, her eyes wet and furious. âWhen you said you loved me.â
You didnât answer with words.
You sat up, ignoring the pain, and kissed her.
Not soft. Not sweet.
It was angry. Raw. Desperate.
And when you broke apart, gasping for air, she grabbed your jacket and pulled you into her arms like she couldnât let go.
âI hate you,â she whispered.
âI know.â
âI love you more.â
Dina let you stay with her. Said it was temporary. Said you were still on thin ice. But every night, she made room for you in her bed.
Every morning, her arm stayed wrapped around your waist long after the alarm went off.
She never said she forgave you. But she stopped flinching when you touched her. She stopped looking away when you said her name.
You learned to talk again. About what happened. About why. And one night, when the wind howled outside and the fire crackled low, she reached across the gap between you and saidâ
âYou donât get to leave again.â
You swallowed hard. âI wonât.â
âYou promise?â
âI swear.â
She pressed her forehead to yours. âThen Iâll stay too.â
Seattle had taken so much from you both. But what it couldnât takeâwhat it never couldâwas this.
The choice to love.
To stay.
To come back, no matter how broken.
Because in the end, love wasnât in the sacrifice. It was in the fight.
And youâd fight for her. Every single time.
Hiiii my love!! So glad youâre backkkk this will be second request omg lover girl Dina with we couldâve been by h.e.r xoxo

It starts the way most heartbreaks do â quietly.
Thereâs no dramatic fight. No slammed doors or bitter screams echoing off the cabin walls. Just silence, like snow falling in the dead of night.
You remember the way Dina used to look at you â like you hung the stars just for her. Soft, melting glances when you made her laugh, when your fingers brushed hers during patrol. She was warmth in a world that had gone cold long before you met her. And for a while, you both made each other forget the world was still burning.
But that was before Jackson fell apart. Before Ellie left and took pieces of you both with her
- Two Years Earlier
Youâd been partners on patrol. Dina cracked too many jokes, and you were too good at pretending not to laugh.
You werenât supposed to fall in love with her. She was with Jesse, and you werenât the kind of person who stole hearts from people who trusted you. But then Jesse died. And suddenly, Dina was untethered, adrift. And so were you.
She kissed you the first night after the memorial. Her eyes were glassy from crying, but she smiled like she meant it. And when her lips pressed against yours, you knew it wasnât grief she was feeling â it was need. And you gave in, because you needed her too.
That winter was everything. You shared a room, a bed, whispered secrets in the dark while the wind howled outside. She called you "baby" like it was a promise, like thereâd always be a next morning.
âWe could go somewhere,â you whispered once. âLeave Jackson. Start over.â
She looked at you with soft eyes. âYou think weâd make it?â
âI think weâd try.â
But the truth was, you were both cowards. You never left. And Ellie came back broken, bloodied, full of ghosts. That changed everything.
- Now
Dinaâs standing in your doorway.
Her hairâs pulled back in a loose braid. Snow clings to the hem of her jacket. Her eyes flicker around your cabin like sheâs trying to remember what it used to feel like to live here. To belong here.
âI heard you were back,â you say, voice low.
She nods. Doesnât smile.
âDidnât think youâd want to see me,â you add.
âI didnât,â she says, then flinches at her own words. âI meanâ I didnât think youâd want to see me.â
The silence swells between you. Thick with everything left unsaid.
She walks in anyway.
Her fingers trail over the table where you used to eat together. The cracked mug she once used for morning coffee still sits on the windowsill. She picks it up like it might still be warm.
âI thought about you,â she says finally.
You donât answer.
âI tried not to,â she admits, and her voice breaks just slightly. âBut I did.â
You want to ask why she left. Why she never came back, never wrote. But instead, you say, âYou look tired.â
Dina laughs, a short, sad sound. âMotherhoodâll do that to you.â
Your throat tightens. You knew, of course. Word gets around. Ellie left, and Dina raised JJ alone for a while before leaving Jackson altogether. No one knew where she went â until now.
âHowâs JJ?â you ask softly.
âHeâs good. Getting big. Looks like Jesse.â She smiles faintly. âActs like me.â
You nod, but your heart is somewhere else. Somewhere between past and present, between her lips on yours and the feel of her empty space in your bed.
âWhyâd you come back?â
She exhales. âI donât know. Closure? Guilt?â
âDo you feel guilty?â
Dina walks closer, eyes fixed on you like sheâs trying to read your mind. âEvery day.â
You swallow hard. âWhy me?â
âI donât know.â Her voice cracks. âBecause I loved you.â
The air leaves your lungs like a punch.
âLoved,â you repeat.
She closes her eyes. âLove. I love you. I never stopped.â
Itâs too much.
You turn away, but she follows, steps echoing behind you until sheâs right there â close enough to touch.
âI thought if I stayed, Iâd hurt you more,â she says. âAfter Jesse, after Ellie⊠I didnât think I had anything left to give. I was scared.â
You look at her, eyes stinging. âSo you disappeared instead?â
âI thought I was doing the right thing.â
âAnd was it?â you whisper.
Her silence is answer enough.
Later, youâre both sitting on the couch. Neither of you dares to bridge the inches between you.
âYou ever think about it?â she asks. âWhat we couldâve been?â
You nod once. âAll the time.â
âI still remember your voice in the morning,â she says, tears in her eyes. âIâd wake up andâ for a secondâ pretend we were safe. That the world wasnât fucked.â
You reach out, finally, brushing your fingers over hers. âMaybe we were, for a while.â
Dina lets out a soft sob and leans in, resting her forehead against yours. âIâm sorry I didnât choose you.â
âI wouldâve chosen you,â you whisper.
âI know.â
You sit like that for a long time, breathing the same air, but feeling like miles apart.
When she leaves that night, you donât stop her.
And she doesnât ask you to come.
- One Month Later
A letter arrives in your cabin. Dinaâs handwriting. Careful, uneven.
âIf things had been different, we couldâve had everything. I hope one day, in some better world, we find our way back to each other.
D.â
You hold the letter for a long time, then fold it gently.
Put it with the others.
And dream of all the ways you almost loved her forever.

masterlist
"Earth to Dina"
"huh?"
"Dina are you ok?" Ellie asked concerned at her friends spaced out expression.
"I'm fine"
no she wasn't.
Dina was not fine.
She was fucking fuming. Why? Because you were giving someone else attention.
Dina had always wanted to be a cheerleader. Ever since she was a little girl, she watched countless videos on YouTube for cheer routines, and she memorized them all.
As soon as she became a freshman in high-school she immediately auditioned, and as if god was on her side she became the caption and she stayed the caption up until her senior year.
She fucking loved to cheer.
The makeup, the routines, the crowd screaming for them.
For her.
God she loved it all the attention. She loved all the people around her, people praising her, and telling her that she did a good job.
Dina was the classic popular girl and as cliché as it was, this was who she was and she loved every fucking second of it.
It was like no other day.
She stood at the entrance of the field, watching the football teams run out.
She observed the other cheer teams standing next to hers, they were pretty, but surely they weren't as talented.
The whistle blew and a grin spread on to Dina's face, as she jogged out the massive doors, her squad running behind her.
The crowd cheered as the girls came out, and Dina proudly raised her pompoms, shaking them slightly.
Her gaze fell onto the crowd, as she tried spotting people wearing the schools colors but her eyes fell on you.
woah.
She's never seen you before.
Holy fucking shit.
For the rest of the night, Dina's eyes lingered on you.
Every time they had to perform, she always kept and eye on you, hoping you'd make eye contact.
You never looked her way.
You wanted to but you were scared.
You'd only join the school a month ago and you remembered on your first day of school, you saw her.
The pretty girl with the dark hair.
That's what you called her until you were told her name was Dina.
Dina. Dina. Dina. Dina Dina.
She was all you could think about.
Everywhere you went there was a reminder of Dina.
You saw a bow? Dina wears bows.
You saw someone wearing blue? Dina always wears blue converse.
You wanted to talk to her so fucking bad, but you couldn't. Every time you got close to her it felt like you were going to piss yourself.
You made her a paper flower one day, hoping you'd be able to give it to her. You'd hype up yourself in the mirror but as soon as you saw her, the confidence you once felt fell away.
"C'mon lets go" your friend Abby begged. She'd been asking you to the football game all week but you weren't in the mood for the loud crowds and all the screaming.
"let me stay home dude" you replied
"Dina will be there"
That's all you needed to hear. You raced to get ready, and you put on a orange jumper hoping the bright color might catch Dina's attention.
You sat on the field with hundreds of other people, you anxiously waited for her, you realized that her seeing you would be unlikely due to the amount of people that filled the seats.
All you remember was the crowd cheering and Dina jogging out, wearing her blue converse. There was a grin on her face as her team followed her and she looked fucking perfect.
As hard as you tried not to look at her you couldn't help it.
She stood in front so obviously you were gonna look at her.
She performed with so much confidence, with so much grace. You could truly look at her forever.
When the game came to an end her squad asked if she wanted to go out with them, but Dina kindly declined because she had other plans.
She had to talk to this pretty girl that distracted her throughout the whole game.
Dina walked through the crowd, trying to avoid all the people who were trying to talk to her.
She was growing frustrated. Where the fuck were you?
Just as she was about to lose hope, she spotted your orange jumper. You stood on the side of the road talking on your phone. Dina slowly walked towards you and she didn't mean to listen to your conversation but she did.
"Abby i swear to god if you don't come pick me up in 5 minutes I'm going to kill you"
Dina softly giggled at how overdramatic you were. You put your phone into your pocket on you sighed.
Dina could walk away right now, she could turn away and you would never have to know about this.
Fuck it. Dina wasn't a pussy.
She tapped you on shoulder, and you turned around. Your eyes met with the girl you've been silently in love with for the last month.
Fuck.
"Hi" Dina started, giving you her charming smile.
Your mouth went dry and you felt so fucking nervous. She could probably see how you were shaking.
"Hi" you replied meeting her gaze shyly.
"Well I'm Dina and i just wanted to say you're really pretty and i was wondering if i could have your number?"
You wanted to pinch yourself. Is this even real? Was this a prank?
"yeah" was all you said without looking at her. You watched Dina reach into her bag to pull out her phone, and she silently watched as you put in your number.
"You don't talk much do you?" She laughed awkwardly as she took her phone from your hand.
"Yeah" was all you said.
Dina didn't text you. Its been 2 weeks.
Its not that she didn't want to, but she was terrified.
You barely spoke to her that night, who says you'll even text her back?
You on the other hand saw the situation differently. You thought she was taking you for a fool. Someone like Dina would never just ask for your number.
As the weeks went by you and Dina make eye contact, she would give you a small smile and you would just walk away with a nod. You'd make no effort to talk to her because she made you so fucking nervous.
Dina hated this. She hated that she wanted someone that can barley look at her. But here she was getting mad at you for talking to someone else.
Some blonde bitch sat with you and you acted so differently. You laughed, you fucking smiled and showed emotion, but when Dina was around you barely uttered a word to her.
You drove her insane.
"Dude why are you fucking lying?"
"what?" Dina asked.
She actually forgot Ellie was sitting here.
"You keep looking at her and Abby"
so that's what her name was.
"What's your deal with them?" Ellie persisted.
She might as well admit it.
"She isn't the problem, Abby is"
Ellies gaze fell to you and Abby for a while before it all clicked.
"Dude are you jealous? do you have a fucking crush on her or something?"
"Yeah" Dina admitted "but I don't know anything about her, i tried talking to her, but she doesn't say much"
Dina quickly glazed to you before she groaned in frustration
"she doesn't" Ellie confirmed.
"She only talks to Abby, she's quite shy in my opinion"
shy is an understatement.
Dina was losing her mind. Every time she sees you and Abby together she feels sick. But at the same time she's too pussy to talk to you or to even text you.
Dina could perform in front of thousands of people without batting an eye but she could barley say hi to you.
You were fucking breaking her.
Dina went to an empty classroom to let off some steam and to her surprise you sat there.
"Hi" Dina said in amazement.
"Hi" you responded looking everywhere in the room but her.
'just fucking look at me' Dina thought to herself.
"What are you doing here?" She asked you.
"Abby isn't here today, i didn't feel like sitting alone"
Dina's fist clenched tightly at the mention of Abby.
"Can i ask you something?" Dina randomly asked, after staring at you for a while.
"yeah"
"why don't you want me?"
"What?"
Dina dropped her backpack and she made her way towards you: "like you- fuck- why don't you look at me? I always look at you"
You wanted to run out the room, this was all happening too fast. "Dina-"
"no listen, i know nothing about you but you seem like a really sweet girl, please just one chance" she begged.
You would give her a million chances.
"Yeah..." you started, you looked around the room one last time before you finally made eye contact with Dina.
"so are you gonna take me on a date?" You smiled at her shyly.
Dina chucked and she responded with one word: "yeah"
Of all the terrible shit Ellie does in the Last of Us Part II, calling Alice "stupid dog," after killing her, is the worst. Can't forgive u on that one, girl.
Taking a female character who belongs to a non-majority group of bigger, muscular women in a video game and making her a very skinny person in the TV show adaptation of said video game is problematic and worthy of (respectful) criticism and Iâm tired of pretending itâs not. Because the creators of the TV show said they specifically offered the actor who plays this character the part. She even said she didnât even have to audition in an interview, she was offered the role with no audition for it. No hate to this actor, sheâs amazing, sheâs out here working, I donât blame her at all. But they also did not have other actors (or if they did, very few) read for the part.
But I am so sick of people acting like the characterâs original physique doesnât matter. It DOES MATTER. Media has power, and purposefully erasing a part of a characterâs physical identity that aligns her with a group of women who are either grossly misrepresented in traditional media or just cut out of it completely IS harmful. And the fact that they used her physicality to market the second game so heavily and then abandon it when the reception wasnât good for the TV show is SO problematic. Bigger women are not there to simply be movement devices for your plot and aesthetic choices. People who are bigger matter, and having representation of bigger women fucking matters.
