Yang: *Walking into the hall* Waaait for it...

Jaune: Ahhhh, ow that hurts...fuuuck...this was my last clean shirt...

Taiyang:...what?

*Both Xiao Longs look through the doorway. Just in time to see Ruby pulling what was left of Jaune’s t-shirt off, revealing a massive bruise on the boy’s chest, but no other visible injury*

Taiyang: What?

Yang: Yeah, didn’t work when I tried that either, Loverboy is...sturdy...

Taiyang: That should have at least knocked him- *Gets tackled by Prof. Port*

Yang: *Sitting down by her quickly hogtied father* At least I did mine when he had armor on, did even less...

Taiyang: This could not get worse...

Yang: Well, Ruby did have fun playing nurse last time, I don’t know if they ended up at second base or third by the end, Ruby wouldn’t say, you might wanna send some condoms along with your apology note, Wingman-in-law.

Taiyang: *Groans against the floor*

Tai: really?

Gngrbrd/Rosegarden they are so SOFT and so good for each other. helping the other up. disagreeing healthily but still being allies & here for each other. sharing what hurts, what's ugly and not perfectly optimistic. they just;; are here for each other and i love them for that

Ruby & Qrow they are so cute, Ruby was never cuter than when she interacted with Qrow in Vol1-3 she looked up to him so damn much; and he loves & cares so much for her in return. AND NOW HE THINKS SHE'S DEAD don't touch me i'm sad. I want a reunion hug

Freezerburn i'm sorry, there are few RWBY conversations I have loved more than Weiss & Yang's in V5, i loved them so much in this volume and they still have a chokehold on me. i love them so much also they would absolutely not divorce come on i know "weiss ice queen" jokes have not died out but Weiss has gotten so much softer, also her & Yang have never had a strong disagreement and she'll defend her with her life.

Blake Belladonna

Blake & Sun/Blacksun i wasn't particularly invested in the ship for V1-V3 but Blake really needed help & a steadfast presence in V4-V5 as well as some sunny optimism and Sun was there for her so yeah i'm sorry i still love them so goddamn much. also, he just had so much impact on Blake in general by finally geting her to accept her friends' help and stop making choices for them. he might lacks tact but come on he cares for her it's dishonest to argue the countrary. BLAKE HAS TWO HANDS IF THAT'S WHY YOU DISLIKE SUN. JUST SAYING.

Blake & Yang (V1-V5) i really like their relationship, i loved Burning the Candle & i don't have any problems with Bumbleby fundamentally. however i would have liked more for the resolution of their V5 conflict (like a soft & deep convo similar to what Yang & Weiss had, or Lumity in last week's ep if you watch it too). Just my preference. All that Matters is a song I absolutely love, but for me it's not a love song but a very sad one and I would have wanted another resolution than the one we got.

Ren & Nora > Renora no problem with Renora at all, i love these two together but i also don't feel strongly about the ship, platonic would have been by me. plus i didn't really like the kiss scene we've got, i don't think it was a very good one given that neither of them were in the right headspace. i love most of their relationship otherwise

Penny & Winter i have no words for how much I loved Penny & Winter. they made me cry. they care so much for each other. they were trying so hard. never judged the others for their decisions & still looked out for each other. we don't deserve them.

Penny & Ruby (V1-V3) absolutely loved Ruby's acceptance of Penny in the earlier volume. set such an important tone for our redhead sweetheart. last volume soured the relationship for me because of the whole "now you have a flesh body" plot, and taking decisions for Penny (even if well-meaning) in a volume where she struggled with agency. i'm sorry.

Jaune & Marrow/Guard Dogs they were so cute & fun. Marrow just can't get Jaune name right but he worried so much for him. and they're just fun you know

Caduceus i blame iwantofall again. but the art is,, too cute. it's just very hard for me to ship jaune. i can't vibe with white knight & lancaster at all; but these two ships pass the test. guard dogs more because there is canon content. and they are wholesome.

Whitley & Qrow qrow is so opposite to everything he was raised in but that's what makes it appealing. i saw fanfics of this, i love the idea of Whitley admiring Qrow and starting to emulate him a bit even though it's so out of place for a schnee kid. but it would be the point wouldn't it : he can finally stop fawning.

Okay, this has probably already been done but A tagging game for fun while waiting for V9, and to celebrate all our different tastes in characters & relationships !

For each character in RWBY : share your favorite platonic and/or romantic relationships for that character !

I took full advantage of the lack of precision each RWBY character has regarding their orientations or gender; and I made use of that fun template I found.

Other than that I feel strongly about asexual Ren, bisexual Qrow & Pyrrha, gay Clover and bi/pan Sun ! I put the Aro/Demiromantic spots late into the making, but I'm pretty satisfied with the three I put there honestly. Weiss & Mercury here stand as Demiromantic, and Harriet as aromantic !

➸ Yang suffers from Raven's abandonment, knowing that her mother left and didn't consider her daughter important enough to *stay* for. For YEARS she knew nothing of her. And saying that Raven didn't want to want Yang seems pretty accurate.

➸ It's thanks to her father & uncle that Yang is so very aware of what love (actual love) is. It's why Yang is so different from Raven, why she cares so much and isn't impressed by Raven's attempts at "kindness". She wanted to know her mother & why she left. But after years and years wondering... the time to "come back" is long lost. Yang is far from impressed by Raven's philosophy.

➸ All in all, it's clear that if Yang is so well-adjusted most of the time it's because she had her own family, without Raven, that she could always count on. Her father who, having given up on the Hunter life, took care of his daughters & loved them as best as he could. Her uncle who, unlike his twin, chose to STAY as much as he was allowed. A credit to how fiercely Qrow loves as well, that shows how different the twins are.

➸ Raven might have abandonned Yang, but Yang isn't planning on doing the same. She'll be there for Ruby as much as possible, and she can feel safe in the knowledge that Tai & Qrow will always be there for the both of them as well.

Throwback to last inktboer when I drew this and promised I’d do a coloured version. It’s only been a year! I wound up redoing the line art, but it was fun to see where this went.
