She refused with an overwhelming urge to shout yes at the top of her lungs, but they weren’t talking.
When her daughter was born, she considered the name Emily, but even so, they still weren’t talking.
When she learned she had conceived the baby, all her desire to continue the tour disappeared, and an abrupt urge to cross the Pacific arose, but even then, they still weren’t talking.
And they never really spoke again. Not like old days. Ever.
