If you need a reminder we’re in the darkest timeline look no further than the outline of the adaption of into the woods we could have had back in the 90s

If You Need A Reminder We’re In The Darkest Timeline Look No Further Than The Outline Of The Adaption

This version also would have had all the creatures in the movie played by puppets made by the Jim Henson company.

Currently making a list of male actors (specifically how they looked in the 90s) that I both want to dominate and also view as transition goals and the list is EMBARRASSING so obv I’m going to share it:

1) James Spader but specifically him in the movie Crash (this is a VERY new development)

2) Robert Sean Leonard (I swear this is NOT connected to my House MD hyperfixation trust me bro)

3) Thomas Gibson :)

4) Robin Williams in The Birdcage (his wardrobe and mustache are everything to me)

5) Richard Belzer (rip)

Pls rb with suggestions and ridicule

Sometimes I forget that I’m perceived in a certain way by others

Was watching The Birdcage w my parents (who perceive me as either a straight cis woman or possibly a cis lesbian) and so I forget that saying shit like “goddamn I wish I looked like Robin Williams in this movie” or “lmao so me” whenever Nathan Lane does something faggy is going to get an unpleasant reaction

But also Armand is so fine and I wish I had that much queer swagger but god nerfed me by making me afab and also an incel

Robin Williams Died Today.

robin williams died today.

here is a list of things that robin williams was:

funny

sharp

kind

clever

and sad.

that’s important, the “and sad,” because sometimes sadness can feel like the only thing we are. it can feel all-encompassing. it can feel like the only thing anyone could possibly see, when they look at you: sad. that person is so, so, sad.

but there is always an “and.” we are never just sad. we are never only. we are always and.

we have all known people who were sad, who are sad; some of us are ourselves sad. being sad does not remove the other parts of us, though it can make them harder for us to see. when you are sad, you don’t necessarily feel like you are also funny, and sharp, and clever, and kind.

but you still are. you don’t have to feel like something to be it.

those things are written on your bones, they are woven into the fabric of your skin. sadness can feel so big, so big and overwhelming and complete, even when it is not a directed sadness. maybe especially when it is not a directed sadness, when it’s a depression that has no direct cause and nothing we can name.

sometimes the sadness is too big. people try to cut it out, or starve it out, or drink it down, or drug it silent. if this is you: i’m sorry. if this is you: you are not alone. if this is you: remember that the solution is never to give up, because you do not live in a vacuum. there are people waiting for you. there are films and songs and books and not-sadness waiting for you. i know that you don’t feel like waiting, but wait anyway.

if you need help, ask for it. here’s a link to crisis centers across the globe. if you live in the U.S., this is the national suicide prevention hotline: 1-800-273-8255.

robin williams died today, but the genie didn’t, and mrs. doubtfire didn’t, and peter pan didn’t. sean maquite didn’t, and professor philip brainard didn’t, and alan parrish didn’t. batty koda didn’t. john keating didn’t. you didn’t.

don’t.

random thought

I always LOVE when comedians or actors in general playing serious roles when they normally don’t.

For example, take Robin Williams in Mrs Doubtfire, that was a banger-ass movie. I mainly watched him in movies like Aladdin and Robots. Seeing him in an emotional and serious role was SO cool, still one of my favorite Robin Williams movies.

Dana Snyder as Scratch in TGAMM was pretty good, and the final episode hit me like a truck. I mainly know Dana Snyder as playing in comedy roles, so this was cool to see. John Mulaney in ITSV as Spider Ham. Still one of my favorite characters (was a bit disappointed he wasn’t in the sequel). That one scene where the gang’s talkin’ bout how all Spider people can’t save everyone, that was deep, like holy shit. Also when he left and said “That’s all, folks.” Honestly, real.

my point is, I like actors/ comedians in serious roles.

Original Character- Robyn

Original Character- Robyn

I came up with the idea for this character a while back. It was until very recently that I finally came up with him. His name is Robyn, he is a court jester and his voice claim is Robin Williams (I just had to). He is smooth talking, flamboyant, a bit extroverted, and sarcastic Honduran white bat and Australian ghost bat mix with a bit of fruit bat in there.

He is one of my only oc’s that doesn’t have a (very tragic) backstory. He was experimented on in a biology lab and is poor. The few friends that Robyn had nickname him Batty. He has always wanted to be a jester, and one day he got the job to be the court jester under the royal family. He has a brother named Jamal. I made Robyn a bat cause (you get a veteran’s pass if you already knew this) Robin Williams voiced a bat (specifically a fruit bat) named Batty who was also experimented on in a lab.

For his outfit, I really tried to do research for once and wanted the outfit to be a mix of traditional jester outfits and modern jester outfits. Idk if I nailed it, but ok. Overall, I like him and I think he’s neat.

Hey, are you having a bad day? Did you know that the actor of Neil Perry, Robert Sean Leonard (Bobby) loves theatre more than acting in front of a camera? Bobby's love for theatre is just like Neil's love for theatre. <3

Hey, Are You Having A Bad Day? Did You Know That The Actor Of Neil Perry, Robert Sean Leonard (Bobby)

He also once played a teacher who cares for his struggling 17-year-old student.

Sounds familiar? Let me show you something...

So don't worry. Neil is alive, and Bobby made his dream come true. ❤️

What attracted Robin Williams to the role of John Keating more than anything else was that he was the type of teacher he, in his school days, always wished he had. (x)

Photographed by Martin Schoeller for The New Yorker in 2002:

"I was hired by the New Yorker in 2002 to photograph Robin Williams, and after doing my research what stood out most for me was that he was a very physical comedian. I came up with this idea to photograph him swinging from a chandelier in a grand hotel room. Most publicists shoot down these kinds of wild ideas, so I didn’t tell anyone what I was up to, but rigged up a chandelier at the Waldorf Astoria hotel for him to swing from. When Robin got there and saw what was happening, he lifted up his shirt and showed me this enormous scar on his shoulder. He’d just had surgery and couldn’t so much as lift his arm. He was so disappointed! He really felt bad about not being able to do it, because he loved the idea and really wanted to help me accomplish my vision.

Unlike most Hollywood stars, he was unfazed by his success and position. He talked to everyone from stylists to the crew, to the hotel staff. We ended up asking a maid at the hotel to swing from the chandelier instead, and I asked him to just sit there and read a newspaper, which I think in the end was an even funnier, more unexpected picture.

“We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.”

"So if I asked you about art you’d probably give me the skinny on every art book ever written. Michelangelo? You know a lot about him. Life’s work, political aspirations, him and the pope, sexual orientation, the whole works, right? But I bet you can’t tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel. You’ve never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling. Seen that. If I asked you about women you’d probably give me a syllabus of your personal favorites. You may have even been laid a few times. But you can’t tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman and feel truly happy. You’re a tough kid. I ask you about war, and you’d probably, uh, throw Shakespeare at me, right? “Once more into the breach, dear friends.” But you’ve never been near one. You’ve never held your best friend’s head in your lap and watched him gasp his last breath, looking to you for help. And if I asked you about love you probably quote me a sonnet. But you’ve never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone could level you with her eyes. Feeling like! God put an angel on earth just for you…who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn’t know what it’s like to be her angel and to have that love for her to be there forever. Through anything. Through cancer. You wouldn’t know about sleeping sitting’ up in a hospital room for two months holding her hand because the doctors could see in your eyes that the term visiting hours don’t apply to you. You don’t know about real loss, because that only occurs when you love something more than you love yourself. I doubt you’ve ever dared to love anybody that much. I look at you; I don’t see an intelligent, confident man; I see a cocky, scared shitless kid. But you’re a genius, Will. No one denies that. No one could possibly understand the depths of you. But you presume to know everything about me because you saw a painting of mine and you ripped my fuckin’ life apart. You’re an orphan right? Do you think I’d know the first thing about how hard ! your life has been, how you feel, who you are because I read Oliver Twist? Does that encapsulate you? Personally, I don’t give a shit about all that, because you know what? I can’t learn anything from you I can’t read in some fuckin’ book. Unless you wanna talk about you, who you are. And I’m fascinated. I’m in. But you don’t wanna do that, do you, sport? You’re terrified of what you might say. Your move, chief."
