Millennial - Blog Posts

late millennials are similar to gen z, but act like baby boomers, lol. Like they are already old and depressed.

Problems as Gen Z

Millennial: It’s really a shame that you’ll never get to see [insert early 2000’s show]

Gen Z: Oh, but we di-

Millennial: It was such a good show. We should watch it.

Gen Z: Yeah… but I saw it when it came out

Millennial:

Gen Z:

I just feel like when we talk to millennials they don’t even acknowledge that we were around when shows or toys or even trends came out. Or when we bring up a show they act like we don’t know what we’re talking about, by bring up another show and being like, “well I bet you don’t remember this.” We do remember. We might have been younger, but we were there.

I think the main difference between millennials and gen z is that we both went through the same awful things, all the same bullshit, but where as it left us depressed and disillusioned, it left them depressed, disillusioned and PISSED OFF.

Millenials: College is more expensive than it’s ever been but I still have to go and put myself in debt for the tiniest chance that it might make someone consider hiring me, I will never be able to afford a house, there’s a goddamn shootout every other day, the world is a nightmare and I wanna die.

Gen Z(Pointing directly at the old rich white fucks who made all this happen): College is incredibly fucking expensive but we still have to put ourselves in debt and do it, I’ll never be able to afford a house, there’s a GODDAMN SHOOTOUT EVERY OTHER DAY, the world is a nightmare and I wanna die and YOU MOTHERFUCKERS ARE GOING DOWN WITH ME.

Millenials: A lot of articles about how the environment’s a mess like to start with how we’re ‘destroying the world’ and framing it as personal responsibility. Like, ‘You! The environment’s in shambles and it’s YOUR FAULT! Yes you! You reading this! You did this! You did this by not biking enough!’ which is horseshit because we do not all have an equal environmental impact. We all have SOME impact, and you can take steps to try and minimize your own, but pretending that one single person’s impact is the same as a company’s or a billionaire who spent decades making his money off oil and fought the introduction of clean energy every step of the way is bullshit. Yes, the world is in shambles, but that’s not solely on us and we alone can’t stop it if they don’t change too. And they won’t.

Gen Z(Putting on their Ass Kicking Boots): Fortunately for us, those billionaires and company execs have names and addresses. :)

I’m Diseased

I’m diseased of adults

Assuming the worst from me

When it is just me

Then they give me a hard time

For nothing

I’m diseased of being a millennial

And adults assuming

That I’m lazy

And addicted to my phone

When it’s just me who just so happens to be different

I’m tired of feeling

Like I’m worthless

And no one will ever

Truly

Fall in love with just me and I them

I’m diseased

Of teachers

Thinking they are better

Because of a degree

At the moment I’m just 1,000 degrees of rage

I don’t want to go to school

I don’t want this factory process

Of being separated

Embarrassed

And torn apart

I’m diseased of being a product

And not a person

The only thing I’ve learned from school

Is that if you don’t want to be bent around

Then keep your mouth shut

I’m diseased with adults

Smoldering my fire

My passion

My,

Will to live and carry on…

Mistreated Millennials

What’s the point of living if I can’t be myself?

I'll be homeless and unhappy

And destructive

You'll continue to be sappy

You'll continue living your life complaining about everything

While I’ll keep my mouth shut because according to you, my problems don’t matter

Baby boomers being controlling yet again

Thinking I owe you when you made me into this bitter, broke, batter

I'm a millennial who lost hope

I'm seen as spoiled and lazy because I see that there’s no use

All I ask is that you don’t take the last thing I have to my ugly name

You get away with it and I'm so tired of the emotional abuse

I need to get old quick

So that I can take control of my life, my world, my planet, my states

I want to take care of this planet and make life better for future generations

You only cared about you; you’re going to go through Hell’s gates

I'm not going to have kids

Well at least not when you’re alive

You are more offensive than a confederate flag or a swastika

If you set eyes upon your gorgeous grandchildren they could break out in hives

I don’t want my offspring to have to see this society you’ve created

A world of tests and pressure

Setting us up against our own generation, giving us trust issues

I can’t wait for you to become extinct for a refresher

You won’t be able to barge in

Testing us to see just how much we can endure before we break at the bones

And when we break, you leave us alone to suffer with the deformities

When you hear our groans,

You convince yourself that we don’t have any problems that are worse,

Than yours

The millennial generation work themselves into insanity

While you insult us, pampered, careless, narcissistic, your words contaminate our pours

We are forced to wear those insults

We wear them like expensive designer clothes,

Because we don’t have any money

Baby boomers look for special millennials to overexpose

Ailments.

You're so close, yet so far apart;

That bridge is the horizon of where ends meet and freedom starts,

Evenings eclipse in paper prints and coffee stains,

Rummaged bones and tiredness, crumbs of hardwork remain.

Headphones on, travelling long,

Rattling compartments - their church sermons.

Curated photos and thumb talks;

What could possibly go wrong?

Love materialises for fifteen minutes,

With renaissance sighs, for swollen lips.

Tokens of promises billed under "Laters, darling",

Lingering aftertaste of rubber burning.

Neon lights and clichéd fantasies -

Honestly, they're just trying to get on with it.

Youthful thought, is this what marks the young heart?

You're so close, yet so far apart.
