Hey, I am so sorry that my post for The Ones Who Hurt is taking so long! I'm working on another project right now, and I'm really trying to balance the two, but idk how well of a job I'm doing 😂

Ok, so I have feelings and I need to express.
Ok, so, Kitty Pryde, AKA Katherine Anne Pryde, started in the Claremont era of X-Men. When I first saw her, I was immediately obsessed. I've always liked the X-Men because of what they represent, but haven't gone too far in because X-Men is usually pretty dark and depressing. But I, a little ten year old Jewish girl, came across Kitty right when I was starting to get unsure of who I was. And then here was this hero, aroundy age, who acted like me, looked like me, and believed in the same God I did. When I read the holiday issue I was so excited because they had included Kitty in her traditions. They had a chanukiah (the holiday menorah) and they explained the traditions and it wasn't just a chanukiah thrown in the corner of a panel. I felt so seen. Then they started to go dark. I don't know when, because like I said, I am woefully confused with the current X-Men timelines, but they started to turn her into this assassin. They gave her tattoos(which, btw, the Torah has always been against tattoos and Kitty has mentioned before her distaste for them...) They have her killing, which is so far from the kitty I found, the kitty I idolized. She never killed, she was snarky and smart and strong and she was friends with killers and accepted them but SHE NEVER KILLED. Because she was 13! And she grew up around Logan and they got so close and it was always that she knew what he did, so she let him do the killing and she got the info. Just because you say she was upset about it doesn't erase both the actual act and the complete and utter character assassination. This, to me, is about the same as giving Batman(Bruce Wayne's Batman specifically) a gun. It's wrong. Also, they gave her a cool ass look, made me have hope she was gonna have a dope ass pirate look (which totally fits the Jewish theme, the amount of Jewish pirates is kind of astounding. If anyone wants a separate post on that let me know please:]) and then I read some panels and they gave her the sick coat... And a fucking unitard. A corset belt. With a unitard. She went from this:

It's like. Bruh. The hell is that?! Talk about a downgrade! Also, that quote, in the panel? I *know* that Logan would be so upset at this because of how the two of them interact. They either have a older-younger sibling relationship, or it's parentally mentor-mentee. Either way, Logan never wanted Kitty to kill, and it sickens me to see this. That's all, sorry for the rant

As someone who was/is born a mutate. Those people raised me and help me feel not alone. If anyone thinks any of these things about X-men, then you’ve definitely missed the point of X-men.
You know when someone is severely missing the point of xmen when:
·They call toad disgusting
·they say that kurt,mystique,beast, or any other appearance based mutation are ugly
·they are racist, homophobic, transphobic, or any other form of bigotry.
Sometimes i just see people watching it and not even thinking about it. Like if you are calling toad gross (for one no toads adorable) youre just as bad as the bigots in xmen.
When you speak of trans people and that they are gross or that they shouldnt be allowed in bathroom or even in schools you are just as bad as senator kelly.
If you sit and watch Bobby's parents ask "have you ever considered just... Not being a mutant?" And think theyre in the wrong but then go say practically the same thing to youre LGBTQIA+ kid, you missed the point.
If you think people avoiding physical appearance based mutations and hold their children closer to them and think thats wrong but then do the same with a POC at the grocery store YOU MISSED THE POINT
I dont know im probably rambling but like bigots who like xmen are just like so stupid lol

once upon a time, in an interview long ago, Stan Lee said, (i repeat in not so accurate words) ".... the secret to writing the x men was not to treat it like an action story but like a soap opera .... "
as far as i can see in my okayish memory, all the x-men intros show their powers in a brief action sequence with there code name showing up before/after said sequence. In my imagination, the intros proceed to show the main/side characters in their element or with their buddies, there by showing their relationships/goofier sides/ bits of personality. Less focus on cool power moves.
Ex: scott with his cereal/soup, professor x (charles xavier) playing chess, talking philosophy with magneto , logan and kurt doing mischief and pranking others with kitty pryde ( in her late teens or as a young adult) , hank and jean doing science shit and list goes on .
all the scenes shift around and about the x-mansion (maybe with a different cooler sounding name) with the character pairs in different rooms, giving the audience the layout with plenty of clues here and there for what could be happening in future episodes.
there will be plenty of kids as main/side characters also. i imagine that as we seen them, their names (real ones not code names) in a font they like with some jazz just beside/behind them
bits and pieces of the intro slightly change with progression in episodes showing the changes in their relationships
( **just personal preference, i don't imagine a jean-logan-scott poly ship or love triangle in this narrative, only scott-jean ship. )
the format of the show will be a hybrid of drama, action, love, friendship, a balance between high stakes and and feels
premises(sort of ?) - older members being teachers (ex: storm) [we actually get to see them teach their subjects], some being in IT support/ security (ex: forge) and youngest (ex: jubilee even magik or quentin quire maybe) being students
A plot- revolves around the various students and teachers: life/origin story, family, inter-personal relations
B plot- anti-mutant, time travel, religious bigot shit, simultaneously advancing the A plot
(as i type this out i do realize that what i just described does take inspo form x men evolution :-p )
