Finally got around to seeing the little mermaid and holy shit was Halle Bailey perfectly cast. All of her emotions so easily can be understood through her facial expressions alone and her looks of wonder make her such an endearing character in the way the animated movie couldn’t.

Also her HAIR. I simply cannot get over it. It is so perfectly done with the mix of locs and looser straight hair. It makes the underwater scenes so perfect and dynamic just from the way her hair floats. I know the hair crew spent a TON of money on the hair and it was worth every cent.

The fact that the writers could have so easily made Hobie and Miles rivals in a love triangle with Gwen, but instead made them bros with Miles talking about how cool Hobie is and Hobie joining the Miles Defense Squad fills my heart with joy

Gonna be a bit of a hot take I think, but as excited as I am for Jensen Ackles to be in the new season of The Boys, the sexualization from the fan base is already worrying. I saw someone say that seeing his dick will be like “coming home” and then someone else made a long list of why it’s likely that Soldier Boy is going to be in a gay sex scene. Bro, I’m so down with a male superhero attracted to men, but it just feels like there are going to be certain members of the fan base who are going to fetishize it.

Maybe I’m just being prude or something, but I feel like maybe it’s a bit much(?) cause I know that if I was in a place like that it’d make me wildly uncomfortable and resentful to do a lot of that stuff. I mean, imagine if that’s how candidly people talked about women. It’s done so casually and it feels kinda gross to be honest.
