Draco X Harry - Blog Posts

A quick note to fellow Enemies to Lovers shippers,

(Especially younger ones)

I hate to break it to you, but you have to stop arguing with people who disagree with your ship online. (For more reasons than that it causes a toxic fanbase.) You aren't going to convince the people actively against your ship.

I know it's hard, especially because it's not just that people don't like it, but because people likely actively hate and work against your ship. Unfortunately, that's because by nature, you're shipping ENEMIES to lovers. When two characters start off opposing each other, especially with one character blatantly in the wrong, people have a hard time accepting the two could ever see eye to eye let alone fall in love.

Basically, it comes down to this:

A lot of people don't believe that others have the capacity to change. Afterall, the whole dynamic of enemies to lovers relies heavily on there being some huge change in both of their mindsets.

In shipping dynamics, I find that the people who fall into this trap of stagnant mindsets are young highschool and midderschoolers. They're probably very focused on the there and now and don't think things will change much outside of their very small worldview. They're in an awkward place where they have been heavily influenced by the few strong opinions they've experienced since birth. They haven't seen how different the world outside their bubble is. Most importantly, they're not going to suddenly change their mind on your ship. (But don't worry, they will grow.)

The truth is, people in real life marry their bullies. They switch sides in wartime for reasons other than self-interest, they reflect on their actions and with help realize what they were doing was wrong. Apologies exist for a reason. What happens in middle or high school is not the end.

Tldr, People CAN and DO change as they grow and as an enemies to lover shipper you see that. It's hard for a lot of people to accept this and your arguments aren't going to change that, only time can. So step out of shipping wars and enjoy your ship with everyone else that ships it.

It's better if you ignore it. Trust me, I ship Drarry.

HBP is truly the beginnings of a Drarry fanfic. Harry starts obsessing over Draco, realizes he isn’t all evil and instead complex, breaks up with Ginny...

JK Rowling was so close to greatness. Just a litttlllleeee more Draco character development and Drarry fans could have had it all.

(Maybe then Ginny and Luna could’ve gotten together)

I will only ship two character if

A) They absolutely hate each other in canon. Like, a full on “on sight” rivalry

Or

B) They have undeniable chemistry the writers inadvertently put in but will never actually be a couple in canon

Conclusion: I hate myself

Draco: *Confidently holding a flip phone upside down*

Harry: ...What are you doing?

Draco: Making a call.

Harry: I don't think you're doing that ri-

Draco: I think I know how to use a cellphone thank you very much.

Harry:

Harry: *Whispering* You don't have to pretend to know how these things work for me to like you.

Draco: *Putting down the dead cellphone* OHTHANKGOD.

VI. Floral

Draco was not distracted, and certainly not whilst brewing his potions. Draco wasn’t many things but if there was one, it would be his dedication. But that day his mind was lingering. On a soaked shirt sleeve and lips on a ceramic mug. On green eyes swirling inside verdant liquid.

So instead of adding a teaspoon of bog moss, he ended up using a tablespoon. He had to scrap the whole thing but the potion was easy enough to make if one was paying attention. It was a simple error to fix without much trouble. Except for the smell.

Draco, in the immediate range of the cauldron, was hit with a facefull of green fog. Eyes watering as he coughed deliriously, he didn’t notice Potter had walked into his temporary potion’s lab. 

There was a strained inhale of air before he spoke a bit muffled, “What happened?”

Draco looked up from where he was dying on the floor. 

“Nothing to worry, just a little mistake.” 

Potter raised an eyebrow but, smartly, chose not to comment. Then he waved his wand and the thick fog vanished from the enclosed space. However, the stink still lingered. As if it had absorbed onto every surface, Draco could feel it seeped into his skin. He urgently wanted to go upstairs and shower, to scrub at his skin until it peeled off and took the horrible stench with it. Then Potter waved his wand again and the air in the room shifted. 

The atrocious smell was gone. In its place was now a curiously floral tone. It took a moment for Draco to place the smell: honey and citrus. Potter’s refreshening spell smelled like honeysuckle.

this was my first ever drarry fic and i was BUH-LOWN!!!!!

it so happened that i woke up last tuesday morning and well decided to ship drarry (without any context or literally any idea where to start)
