CHRISTOPHER BRINEY, CIS MALE, HE/HIM | who’s that? oh it’s ADAM RICHARDS. i hear they’re 22 and are known as THE GOLDEN BOY around THE FOOTBALL FIELD. they’re known to be COMPASSIONATE AND SELFLESS and CLOSED OFF AND GULLIBLE. some people say they remind them of THE SMELL OF FRESHLY CUT GRASS MIXED WITH DRYING PAINT, THE ROAR OF A CROWD AT THE FINAL WHISTLE, SNEAKING KISSES AT A RED LIGHT AT THREE IN THE MORNING, A SHEEP IN WOLF’S CLOTHING, EVERYONE IN TOWN KNOWING YOUR NAME. they DO NOT believe they died.

THE BASICS

FULL NAME: adam jacob richards

NICKNAME(S): richards, quarterback

AGE: twenty-two

DATE OF BIRTH: october 3rd

HOMETOWN: hawkins, indiana

CURRENT LOCATION: tree commune hawkins, indiana

GENDER: cis male

PRONOUNS: he / him

ORIENTATION: homosexual ( only known by cole and maybe a small amount of other people he trusted ? )

OCCUPATION: former lifeguard at the hawkins pool

THE FACTS

Adam has the most apple pie backstory you can imagine. The eldest of three, he’s always been the dependable golden child. His father is a dentist, a steady job that keeps them on the well-off side of town. His mother was originally his receptionist, but gave that up when she had Adam. For as long as Adam can remember, his mom had been around to take care of him and his little sisters. She was always there to pick him up when he fell, or hold him after a nightmare. He was closer to her than his father, although they had a fine relationship too. His memories of home are happy, filled with family dinners around the kitchen table, singing along to the radio as they drove to church on Sundays, and his family cheering him on every Friday night. Adam loved his family so much.

There’s only one thing that could make him want to leave them behind, and that’s the knowledge that he could never fully be himself in Hawkins. Adam didn’t realize that he was gay until he was in high school - he just thought that maybe the attraction guys described feeling for girls was overexaggerated. Once he met Cole Montgomery, though, everything changed. He pestered Cole to help him with English, relishing their weekly study sessions until things shifted and they began seeing one another romantically. Being with Cole made Adam feel more like himself than anything else in the world did. And while Adam adored his family, he needed to get out of Hawkins in order to be truly happy.

Cole wasn’t the only thing that made Adam want to leave, though. Hawkins itself came with a sort of pressure. Here, he was the Boy Next Door. The Hometown Hero. Every Friday night, Adam was expected to put on his jersey and play his part as the star quarterback, beloved by all who attended their games. And at times, Adam felt suffocated by that. There were so many rules and expectations he had to follow in order to just exist in Hawkins. In order to play sports and be accepted - which Adam wanted - he had to behave and act a certain way. Which is why Adam knew that once Cole graduated, he had to leave with him and go somewhere where no one expected anything from him.

And that was the plan, until the summer of 1985. Things were good, stable, until suddenly Adam was being controlled by the Mind Flayer and was killed at the Starcourt Mall. Adam doesn’t really remember this time; he doesn’t know that he died. It’s all really hazy, honestly. But now that he’s back and people are claiming that he joined a commune in the woods for three years…well, Adam doesn’t know what to think.

THE HEADCANONS

Adam’s always fully embraced his role as a big brother to his younger sisters. He loves them both dearly. While he’s closer to the middle sister just due to their ages (she’s around 18-20), he also loves Cindy, who’s 16 now. He feels bad that he missed out on their lives for the last three years for sure.

He loves football and sports in general. The comradery of a team, the thrill of people depending on you - that’s so special to Adam. The only part of it he hated was the pressure and expectation to be someone that he wasn’t. He hated the toxicity that could exist in that world, especially the casual misogyny and homophobia. That’s why he always tried to rise above it while still working the system? Like, he couldn’t step too far out of line or call too many things out, but he always tried to stand up against bullying in his own way.

Adam is just... a very genuine person. He’s absolutely a himbo who takes a lot at face value. He’s never understood why people can’t just mean what they say, or have good intentions. Like this man is a Lawful Good through and through.

School wasn’t easy for this man. He did okay in some classes, but really struggled in others. In order to keep him on the football team, though, I imagine he had tutors in several of his classes.

Literally he did not know he was gay until he was like 15-16 years old, he just thought that his friends were exaggerating when they talked about girls. Like, he was like “They’re nice. Fine, even. Pretty, I guess.” and then he met Cole and was like “Ohhhh I get it now.”

He had a girlfriend when he met Cole, and once he realized he liked Cole and wanted to date him, he felt intense guilt at the thoughts of cheating on her. So, either 1) he broke up with her or 2) he kept dating her but told her everything, and she was willing to be his beard. If someone wants that connection, PLEASE lmk because I would love to see either option.

Truly he always tries to see the best in people. Even those who don’t deserve it.

He fully had plans with Cole to run away after Cole graduated and Adam 100% was going to follow through. He didn’t love the idea of leaving his family behind, but he needed to be himself and not the town’s Golden Boy. Unfortunately, Adam got flayed by Billy, who he used to work with.

He wasn’t himself the few days before he died. He was a lot meaner and angrier than anyone had seen him before, so that might have raised some red flags for people. Adam was eventually killed at the mall.

While Adam doesn’t think that he died, he does find the commune idea suspicious. After all, he did want to run away, but with Cole. He’s so confused by the idea that he would have left him behind, so part of him is worried that maybe he was brainwashed or kidnapped? He has no clue what to believe when it comes to that, honestly.

melancolialunar:

As expected – perhaps by no one else but himself –, the full moon night had been an absolute nightmare. Remus followed all the steps, he took the wolfsbane potion obediently, then locked himself up in a cage that was a tad too small for the fully grown wolf by now, and then he ignored his father’s nervous footsteps on the room next door. And then he waited. And he turned. The eclipse was a funny thing; it was almost as if the shadow was reaching down, curling a hand around his very spine and shaking him around violently. The wolfsbane potion almost felt like a joke.

Waking up wasn’t any easier, though at least he managed to crawl into a bath, hoping the warm water would soothe the bruises lighting up every spot that his body had thrashed against the metal bars. It didn’t, but at least it helped wash away the blood. Lyall had disappeared, as he often did the morning afters, avoiding his son’s eyes at any cost. Remus preferred it that way, too.

He peered through the peephole first, and opened the door with a pair of furrowed brows. He was positive he looked like a truck just ran him over, but hey, if Severus wanted to study their subject, then they might as well see him at his second-worst. “You brought food.” He echoed, accent thick in his tiredness, eyes focused on the mentioned pot for a lingering moment of silence. “I should ask you something to make sure it’s really you, but that smells good enough that I’m willing to die for it.” He sighed, walking back into the house and letting Severus follow him in.

image
Melancolialunar:

As someone who dealt in secrets and information, Severus was less than reassured by how easily he was let in, but he walked into the house and let the door fall shut behind him wordlessly. He would lecture about security and stranger-danger when the werewolf didn’t look dead on his feet. Which made Severus wonder about the state of the wards on this house, if they were up to standard — somehow, he doubted Lupin bothered to install a three-tiered blood-bound protective ward around the property, but resolved to ask anyway. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to at least run a diagnostic later too.

Severus set the pot and the plate of warm bread down on the coffee table, and soon enough he was settled on the couch, notes spread out, and a steaming bowl of chicken soup in his left hand extended out towards Lupin. When Mum was sick, those long and dragging years before she passed, the neighbors filed in with pots and plates of food, and pity, which the proud witch did not care for, and one by one she drove them all away with mean-spirited and bitter lashings, and Severus would sit on her bedside with a bowl of soup and a table spoon until she calmed down. She wanted to see him and only him on her last days, and he knew his Mum then in a way he couldn’t for all seventeen years prior.

Lupin was always sick on the day after a full moon. Severus didn’t think it through when he made and packed the soup and bread this morning, but now, making the offer, it suddenly felt uncomfortable. ‘ I need you focused, ’ he said. ‘ You look like death. ’

He picked up his notes and quill, flipped through a few pages, and settled back against the couch. A hand went up to tuck a strand behind his ear. ‘ What happened yesterday? Walk me through it. ’

Ever the optimist, Didyme's innate positivity had fought back against the call for darkness. Perhaps just as sorrow was a condition of humanity, self-preservation was a condition of the eternity her brother had gifted her with. Trying to burn herself in the sun and join her siblings had resulted in only a temporarily charred wrist. Though on the other side of her temptation she saw a clearer truth; she had lost herself. She remembered how precious life had been in humanity. How one more hug, one more meal, one more sunrise was a blessing and none of them were promised. And there she was with an endless abundance. Who was she to shun such things?

Still, when death seemed as much a promise as the joys of life she knows it harder to resist the temptation to meet it earlier. A small, thoughtful smile crosses the vampires delicate features. "You're right, I do not know you." But she knew humans. She had seen a plethora of them, countless lifetimes, of the way they could be. Some prettier than others. The yellow jewel of her necklace catches the light of the moon, illuminating her face as she moves closer. "But I am willing to bet you did not start this way. No one does." Not even her cold and controlling brother, even he had once been a child full of light and hope. As she moves, so does her power, invisible tendrils attempting to take hold of the woman's heart and fill it with a warmth she surely had not felt in some time. Reaching for the human's arm, Didyme's own heart aches as the others pain hits her even harder. In her tear stained gaze she sees but a broken child. When was the last time someone held her?

Overwhelmed, the ancient pulls the woman into her embrace, trying to envelop her with a certain protection from the harsh fate that awaited on the other side of the cliff. "It's going to be okay. Not every day will feel like this." It was only the two of them under the evening sky, but her words are still whispered. A gentle offering of comfort from whoever she needed it to be from. From wherever she had never felt it.

Ever The Optimist, Didyme's Innate Positivity Had Fought Back Against The Call For Darkness. Perhaps

Sorrow wasn't apt enough a word for the depth of Esme's grief— her pain. Every breath felt like needles in her lungs, pricking tears from eyes just for her to then choke on them. They had to pull her fingers from around her son's body, pry her arms from around him so they could take him to the morgue. All while she screamed and begged for another hour.

The silence afterwards was incomparable to anything she'd experienced before. They had threatened restraints on her, but one of the nurses managed to convince the doctor otherwise; she was just a grieving mother, not a danger to anyone's safety—

Well, perhaps her own.

Her lungs burned as they did bringing her boy into this world. Over the past few days she had become accustomed to heaving lungs; labour of different kinds, one now to reward her the end of this tortuous existence.

Through her tears, Esme thinks that perhaps the figure and the words to be her mother. The innate kindness of them make her yearn for the familiarity of a mother's embrace, but as she blinks the tears away, Esme focuses instead on a stranger.

The breeze is non-existent on this humid, August night. The stars glisten like silver above and Esme can't help the way she finds peace in this landscape being her end.

"How could a stranger know if I'm myself or not?" Her words are spat. She is so close now. If her son can't be with her, she'll be with him. "They couldn't, so don't pretend you're any different."

ANSWERED ASK - DIDYME

@wastheheart asked: “i appreciate your concern, but let me take care of myself. okay?" (for whoever you think vibes!)

Humans were full of sorrow. It was a condition of their very existence - something they must experience so they could appreciate joy. Didyme had grown accustomed to sensing it whenever she chose to move among them, choosing the right occasions to use her gift on them unsuspectingly. Though they must experience it, they did not always have to. Some sorrow was able to be dispersed to be felt another day, to stop the weight from crushing them. Some sorrow was particularly potent - as potent as blood from an open wound - and she had learnt to sniff it out just as easily.

She had followed the woman to the outskirts of town, toward a steep incline. Her sorrow seeped from her, covered head to toe in an invisible loss that Didyme felt reach for something deep within her own memories. Her youngest siblings cut down by war. You could have prevented it, you bastard! Fingers twitch, still feeling as though they were pounding against Aro's chest as she wept. Why me? Why me?! I should have died with them! A deep, deep, sorrow even her usual optimistic outlook could not fight. It had wanted to pull her in to itself, drown the life from her. That was what this woman felt now, she knew it. The cliff was calling her like a siren song, making whatever lay at its depths seem more appealing than what she had experienced in this life. She had stayed carefully behind her until they reached an opening, taking the opportunity to ask if she required assistance.

ANSWERED ASK - DIDYME

"Forgive me, my child, but I do not think you are entirely yourself right now." She knows the words must seem odd leaving her mouth. The woman looked at least 4 years her senior despite Didyme having more than three millennia on her. But something tells Didyme the woman needed a guiding presence more than anything right then.

Her father had acquired this place years ago, the perfect hunting ground for his experiments. Full of unsuspecting participants already willing to offer themselves up to a vampire without a fight. Though those who became a part of his studies certainly became less willing once they realised what was growing inside them. When they eyed the hybrid as she moved through the club few of them understood they were looking at a version of the demigod her father intended to replace humanity with.

The lawyer now sniffing around the club had been getting too close for Joham's liking, too close to uncovering the missing woman who had frequented the place. Her body lay in the incinerator at his lab, another failed experiment. Another woman who had looked at Serena in fear and confusion as her body gave out just as her mother's had over a century ago. This one had called Serena a "cold little bitch", which the hybrid supposed was partly true. Her responses to this kind of thing had become cold, methodical almost. She could no longer afford to grow attached to humans, she had learnt that long ago. Especially not ones who met their fate at the hands of her father. The disappointment if he saw her show any emotion toward them was enough to paralyse any emotion out of her.

Though perhaps not enough. She clutches the pendant she'd slipped off the woman's body before her father had gotten to her, turning it over in her fingers inside the pocket of her jacket. It wasn't unusual for her to keep a token, something to remind herself. Of what exactly....she wasn't sure. A fleeting impulse has her wanting to hand it over to the lawyer perched uncomfortably in his booth as she approaches. Evidence for his case. But she resists, keeping it firmly pocketed. Perhaps it was a test, her father did like to do that. Even though he had no way of knowing what she held, he was always testing her anyway. She had to remain strong, loyal. His dutiful eldest.

Slipping into the booth opposite him, Serena eyes the vampire with a curiousity. The ones still play pretending human fascinated her, a reminder of a distant time when she'd also been fool enough to try such things. Crimson lips turn into a small smirk at his reaction to the drink. Such an odd thing, so out of place with his nature. "Jacob, wasn't it?" The hybrid leans in closer, browns intently locked on his. "I heard you've been asking questions about my family's club. I'm sure you understand that the privacy of our patrons is something we take very seriously. So I trust you have a good reason for asking them?"

Open To: M/f/anyone Plot: Jacob Is A Lawyer Working A Case For Someone & Is Meeting Someone In A Club

Jacob didn’t make it a habit of coming to places like this, blood clubs, places where his kind could feed freely from willing participants. The scent of blood was thick in the air, at least, to him, but he never had quite gotten over the humanity in him, even after all these centuries. It was dim lit and gothic, a stereotype if anyone asked him but it wasn’t like he had much to go on. He wasn’t exactly a social vampire, least of all with his own kind. Music pulsed to drown out the noises of talk, laughter, and pleasure. Over on the dance floor, a good distance from Jacob was, masses of bodies writhed together in dance and sensuality. It flowed through the place, clung just as heavy in the air as the scent of blood and sex. This was a dark place intended for dark pleasures. Certainly somewhere Jacob would never frequent but he was no stranger to such places, he had indulged in his carnal desires before.

Jake shifted in his seat at a booth tucked in a corner as far away from everyone else as possible. He’d been holding his breath, not that he needed to fill his lungs with oxygen anymore anyway, it helped with the overwhelming scents if he didn’t inhale them. There was a glass in front of him, watered down from the melting ice, and he rotated the glass in place absently as his dark eyes slowly scanned every dark crevice and face he could see. Searching impatiently. He didn’t want to be here. It was clear in the rigid way he sat, decades of etiquette training from a mother that always felt appearances were everything. Jacob was uncomfortable but he was there for a reason and if the tip was correct, this was important information he needed to progress in his case. Not only in court but in helping the family as well.

His senses flared with the warning of someone approaching and Jacob snapped his gaze over to whomever it was, his face was void of anything other than mild tension. Clearing his throat Jake took a gulp of his drink, the watered down substance doing little to hide the strength of the liquor and blood inside. He almost grimaced but swallowed quickly, setting the drink back down and stirring it with the tiny straw. There was a sharpness to his gaze as he watched the other, a shine to them not quite natural but nothing like the glowing eyes scattered among the other bodies around the club. Jacob was watchful, wary, intrigued but certainly just wanted to get what he was there for and get the hell out.

something about falling snow is unsettling

peaceful to the eye

silencing the havoc throughout homes with a foot of soundproof encasing

sure the purity of the winter is breathtaking

but my lawn has been walked over time and time again

and the chaos is seeping out through the gaps of my snow boots

my screams echo with snow flakes hitting the ground

this chill in my bones is not serene

XZero Week 2024 - Promise

XZero Week 2024 - Promise

(This requires a great deal of context from our RP blogs involving time loops and multiversal chaos and you're welcome to ask me and my wife more about it, but here's the long and short of it:

Think of this as X getting a sort of premonition pre-X1. Z hasn't died (yet), so why did he have a nightmare about something that hasn't happened...? 🫠 )

Not knowing what to say, Quinn shook his head. There were so many emotions running through his head but no real words were forming. It was all just angerbetrayalfear mixing together into something dangerous. “How could you think it wouldn’t fuck things up Ben? It was me for god’s sake. The Archibald golden boy.” Quinn let out an angry sigh, resisting the urge to stomp his foot in frustration. “So you left. You ran away and let me face my parents, the media, the courts, and rehab all on my own. How kind of you.”

image

Ben furrowed his brows, the anger inside of him building up. He was only mad at himself. He only had a right to be mad at himself. He felt like there wouldn’t have been as many consequences if Quinn took the fall. They’d both escape unscathed. He was extremely wrong, however. “I don’t know, I wasn’t thinking straight,” He admitted. Quinn had a squeaky clean reputation compared to him. Had was the keyword. “I didn’t want to leave you to do all that shit on your own. I just didn’t know what else to do,” The guilt that Ben had after watching a man OD in front of him, unable to help, was something that was incomparable. He watched a human life leave a body. “I know it sounds bad, but...” His voice faded, realizing he shouldn’t turn this onto himself. “I should’ve just had your back,” Why couldn’t he just tell Quinn he was sorry? Why was this so hard? “I don’t know what happened.”

Listening to her, he wasn’t surprised by the respond that she was having. it was similar to the response that they all were having when they first went back to Derry. None of them remembered anything, and when they did, they all freaked out. Hearing her statement, he shook his head. “I’m sorry Bev, I wish it was. But it isn’t. This is what’s really happening.” If Bill knew of a way to get them all back to their homes, their lives, he would, but he had yet to figure anything out. “A couple of them died. Stan and Eddie. Well, Stan never made it back to Derry, and Eddie didn’t make it out of the fight.” He explained, keeping his voice low. “So far I only know of Mike not having them, but I haven’t talk to the others yet.”

🎈❤️🔥

bill’s words only made her finish off the drink that much sooner. dead. in the bathtub — a thought she couldn’t place but was repeating over && over again. she could hardly imagine it. the group always felt like it was supposed to be seven. five would be incomplete. while she couldn’t remember it, already it felt like parts of her were missing. “— so what you’re saying is whatever is happening here is at least sort of like what happened at home, even the second time ??” focusing on missing memories would only cause stress at the given moment, bev instead tried to focus on something she maybe could somewhat handle. “if that’s the case then we gotta get out.” though hearing of the closed border wouldn’t help the cause. “you reckon whatever thing is blocking the ways out goes underneath the street level ?? that it’d—” she paused, hating to even say it. “— block passageways in the sewers too ??”

And now, in my slumber, I listened to his spirit's last wish,

To let our bones lay in the same golden urn.

i accidentally napped and had a dream (nightmare?) where a new update for stardew valley released where everything was the same except on a random day in year 3 Evelyn would just straight up die. There was a whole cutscene that started in her house where she collapsed, and then transitioned over to the hospital where Harvey gave George and Alex the worst news of their lives. However, they got to speak to her where she said something along the lines of "Yoba will protect me, and I am sure he will let me watch over you."

Alex and George would not talk to the player for more than a few words for a full season after this event. George would spend most of his time in the bedroom, so if you had less than 2 hearts with him, you could barely ever speak to him.

And Alex... oh my god, poor Alex. If you were married to him during this event, he just stayed in bed all day. Otherwise, if single, he would just stand on the beach most of the time, staring off into the ocean. If you tried to interact with him, it would just say "Alex is grieving... Better leave him be."

There was also other NPC dialogue like mayor Lewis saying "I haven't seen the community in this state of mourning since your grandfather passed..."

there was also a glitch where you could make Evelyn live forever and there were entire guides for the "immortal Evelyn glitch" that got patched out in the next update. If you tried to perform the glitch after the patch, mr. Qi would tell you that "hey, it happens to all of us. We can't prevent it, and neither can you, no matter how hard you try."

Pater Meus (Part 1)

Fandom: Twisted Wonderland

Characters: Lilia, Malleus, (Y/n) (gender neutral) & miscellaneous characters

Word count: 1,039 words

Warnings: Death of parents, mention of blood, mention of stab wounds, mention of robbery, police officers (no police brutality) bodies/corpses

Author’s Note: Pater Meus is Latin for “My Father.” Also, (M/m/n) means "Mother's maiden name.”

“Now wait just a moment, little one” said Lilia to (Y/n). “I’ll have your milk warmed up for you.”

Despite not understanding what Lilia had just said, hearing the word “milk” was enough to make (Y/n) happy.

The only person in the kitchen who wasn’t happy was Malleus. It wasn’t that he disliked children. On the contrary, he thought they were the most precious beings in existence. What was upsetting him was not knowing how & why Lilia came into possession of (Y/n). As far as he’s aware, Lilia doesn’t have any partner, so the chances of them being related are slim to none. As much as it pained Malleus to interrupt this blissful moment, he had to know the truth. “Lilia. I must inquire about how you came into possession of this adorable infant” asked Malleus.

No response came from Lilia as he was too busy humming a tune while warming a small cauldron of milk.

“Lilia. I know you can hear me. Answer my question” said Malleus with a hint of frustration in his tone.

Lilia, heading over to the food storage, chirped to himself “You know. I wonder if they’ll like mashed peas. They appear to be old enough to have some.”

“Lilia.”

“Oh, I can’t wait to see what foods (Y/n) will love!”

“Lilia!”

“Maybe I can also give them some-”

“LILIA!”

Annoyed, Lilia turned around & looked at Malleus. “What do you want?”

Satisfied that Lilia’s finally paying attention to him, Malleus calmed down. “What I want to know is why all of a sudden, you’re taking care of that child.”

“What’s wrong with taking care of a child” asked Lilia, furrowing his eyebrows.

“Nothing, Lilia. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with providing love & care for a child” said Malleus as Lilia walked past him with some peas & carrots.

“Then there’s nothing more to discuss about little (Y/n).”

Being completely dumbfounded by Lilia’s behavior, Malleus asked himself what happened to (Y/n)’s biological parents. As the two faes returned to the kitchen, Malleus wondered if they'd willingly given up their child to Lilia. That seemed unlikely as he was being defensive when being asked about (Y/n)’s origin. An extremely unfortunate event must have befallen their parents in order for Lilia to be their new guardian. As much as it pained Malleus to accuse Lilia of anything, he had no other choice. “Lilia? Did you… murder (Y/n)’s parents?”

.

.

.

“They were already dead when I met (Y/n).”

“… What” Malleus tried his best to speak, but he was too stunned to do so. “How?”

“Here’s how I remembered the events that transpired several months ago” Lilia stated before telling his story on how he met (Y/n)

Several months ago…

The cry of an infant. A sound Lilia had least expected when traversing a forest, yet that is exactly what he heard. Before entering the clearing where the cry was coming from, Lilia detected the scent of blood.

Upon entering the clearing, Lilia saw a pair of humans brutally stabbed with several torn bags around their bodies. “Whatever they’ve had, it must’ve been valuable enough for someone to murder them for it” Lilia thought to himself before noticing a medallion that the presumed mother wore. “The House of (M/m/n). I remembered one of their ancestors fighting valiantly in the last war the Valley of Thorns has had.” Before he could speculate as to how this gruesome crime scene could’ve happened, Lilia decided to call a few police officers from the closest town to investigate it.

After a few days, they were able to identify (Y/n)’s parents as well as the identities of the perpetrators thanks to their advanced magic. It was only a matter of catching them.

“Officer. What exactly shall happen to the child?” asked Lilia.

“We’ll have to see if their parents have left a will stating who shall take in the child upon their passing. If not, we’ll have to contact their closest relatives about the situation. If by this point we still can’t find anyone willing to take them in, they’ll end up in the foster care system” replied the officer.

Putting a hand to his chest, Lilia declared himself as (Y/n)’s guardian should there be no one willing to raise them.

“You are aware of the lengthy process in order to adopt a child, correct?” asked the officer. “Not only that, there’s also the chance that several of this child’s family members will want to be their guardian.”

“That doesn’t matter to me. This poor child had their parents taken away from them & I wish to provide them with as much love & care as possible” stated Lilia with passion like no other.

“Right. Let’s see what the Family Court has to say” the officer murmured.

End of flashback…

Upon hearing the entire story, Malleus was left speechless. How could he respond to all of this? He simply couldn’t.

“Unfortunately for (Y/n), none of their relatives seemed interested in adopting them” Lilia told Malleus.

“That’s stupid” Malleus slammed his fist on the table, causing (Y/n) to cry. “(Y/n) is a delightful, sweet infant! I swear when I find the ones who killed (Y/n)’s parents, there’ll be hell to pay!”

“Malleus! That’s enough” yelled Lilia as he scooped (Y/n) into his arms. “The officers got this under control. They’ll find the criminals soon enough.” Before bottle feeding (Y/n) their milk, Lilia soothed their nerves by talking sweetly to them.

Malleus clenched his fists at the thought of these scumbags roaming the world freely. “But what if they don’t find them, Lilia? What if these filthy beasts get away with this? They should experience the same pain (Y/n)’s parents felt in their final moments.”

“While I agree with your sentiments, we shouldn’t get involved in this situation. We would both face consequences far greater than we could ever handle” Lilia warned Malleus.

In response, Malleus sighed & slumped in his chair. How it pained him greatly to know that he couldn’t avenge (Y/n)’s parents.

Lilia, seeing his prince in a foul mood, handed (Y/n) to him after they were done drinking their milk.

Seeing (Y/n) brought a small smile to Malleus’s lips. “Worry not, little one. You’re in good hands.”

In Biology we were talking about euthanasia and our thoughts on it. Literally everyone in my class was saying they couldnt imagine wanting to die. That they didnt even have the guts to even hurt themselves in any way. I kept getting flashbacks to last night, and all the fresh scars on my arms and legs and it made me die a little bit more inside, knowing how truly alone i was.

I shared this idea on the Discord but thought I’d put it here, too (preemptive angst warning, sorry): Lost In Your Eyes Tarquin time loop fic where he goes back to the start of his journey over and over again any time anyone dies (I imagine the first day he doesn’t believe it. He has dreams like this all the time. But then he gets through one day. And then another. And then realizes that maybe this is real? And after the first loop and first successful save he realizes that maybe there is a chance. Maybe this is his second chance) and finally gets a chance to save everyone…!

…Only to wake up from some kind of coma or something and figure out it’s all fake. He never managed to save anyone. They’ve been dead for years.

I imagine him finally getting onto land and seeing Amanda again. He saves her life by protecting her and falls unconscious - he wakes up in a hospital. He’s drowsy and confused but he asks the first employee he sees about Amanda - only to get a response that they don’t know any Amanda… He is in denial about this the entire time.

Eventually they let him out and he searches for her (and the rest of his crew). She has to be out there somewhere - there has to be some reason no one came to visit him. Maybe they were waiting for him. He saved them, after all.

I imagine he runs into Amanda’s mother, who is not happy to see him, and she tells him that Amanda’s been dead for years and it’s his fault, angry that he would even suggest that she could be alive after all this time and give her false hope, and Tarquin is just devastated.

TTYD is a wild ride

The recent remake got me to reminisce about this game. There's just something so wonderfully out of place this game is in regards to the Mario franchise as a whole. In summary: Prologue: Welcome to this absolute hellhole of a city! Experience assault, gang violence, and robbery within mere minutes! Interludes: "...TTYD Peac, who gets naked 10,000 times per scene, is a statistical outlier adn should not have been counted." Chapter 1: Local dragon amasses absurdly high kill count via appeals to greed and foot fetishism Chapter 2: "Were... were they intending for this to be a metaphor for...?" (See: WoolieVS playthrough) (insights that make you go "oh no" 😬) Chapter 3: Mario is on the wrong side of the class divide, and needs mafia connections to proceed. Also, surprise! There's murders happening! Chapter 4: Mario's adventure suddenly becomes an allegory for gender dysphoria! ...You don't remember that? That's because the Gamecube-era localizers were COWARDS! (Remake-era, not so much 👍) Chapter 5: Don't worry about the fact that you released a murderous pillaging ghost-pirate out into the world for your own benefit. It's fine. Probably. Ch. 5 Bonus: ...What do you mean you also gave an endangered species brain damage???? Chapter 6: A nice, low-impact story arc to unwind and- OH GOD THEY'RE EVERYWHERE AAAAAGGGH Chapter 7: Mario reactivates an old Cold War-era Soviet weapons system. By now this sort of thing feels par for the course. Chapter 8: funny bing bing wahoo man fights the harbinger of the End Times

Blursed anomaly of a Mario game that shaped my youth, 10/10

ok this addition is fucking me up because of parts of the dream I didn't elaborate on. Namely: 1: Claw Lady and Deer Lady were a couple 2: Claw Lady accidentally killed Deer Lady 😬

There was a show about a group of superheroes who, at the time, seemed like they had compelling powers, but now that I’m awake I realize how lame they were. It included characters such as:

A woman with “deadly claws” (They were just long fingernails)

A man who couldn’t be seen as long as light wasn’t touching him (Literally just how darkness works???)

A surgeon (His power was being a surgeon)

Some kind of deer lady (No powers outside of being a deer lady, but it’s still something at least)

At some point there was this shocking episode where, on an infiltration mission, most of them died in brutally gory and tragic ways. There must have been backlash somewhere, because the next episode was a goofy comical retelling of the infiltration mission where nobody died. I woke up before learning which version was canon.
