i think i commented on it before, but ive had two major theories as to why its kai specifically: first) that kai was a reincarnation of the beast, second) that kai was a reincarnation of whoever sealed/was-sacrificed-to-seal the beast before. now with the latest chapter im leaning pretty heavily on kai-as-a-reincarnation of the second variety.

ALSO the implications? that the beast was loved and in love but fucked it all up and irrevocably destroyed the system-as-it-was? epic. the bitter remains of something pure, and the only being left who can remember (but who would refuse to admit its part in favor of terrorizing the only other one stuck with it)? delicious.

and—this may just be bc its what id pull—but i suspect a chain or other tether is hidden inside of kai himself. super excited regardless, just know ive got about half a tragic scene im playing with already lol

Imagine seeing your supposedly dead brother walk in with a dragon and a sentient mech while just being oddly violent out of nowhere, looking completely different—scars, darker outfit, flinchy—and Nya’s first reaction is pure shock before she goes into full panic mode. Lloyd’s trying to stay calm but he’s internally freaking out because Kai was his first sensei and now he’s like this?? looking like a very dirty feral cat??? It feels like the start of a bad pun.

How many generations removed do you think the centipede fire master was from Kai? Where the fire master line (???) originally from this dying/dead world and eventually escaped or did he enter the world for a reason many questions I doubt will be answered but delight me anyway.

Im thinking like 1-2 generations before Ray, maybe some years after the fsm made ninjago and the other realms? Also, very much vining with the whole "Masters of fire originally came from the realm of monsters" theory, cause it makes sense.

Like, imagine the og master of fire chucking his only remaining kid to ninjago before he was eaten by the centipede monster, then the element of fire being past on to them after, then they get a partner and have Ray? I think it's a pretty solid theory. Also gives another reason why Kai struggled with unlocking his element and true potential.

I used ibis paint x! Just go to filters and find the adjust color tab, then click adjust saturation and hue. Move all the slides to 0° then up the saturation slide all the way. Sorry if it's a lite confusing, but you really need to be on the app for a while to know all it's features 😭
