https://www.redbubble.com/i/t-shirt/Minthara-Baldurs-Gate-3-love-by-GregoryMendoza/152934914.FB110.XYZ I've been reported that this person out there is selling T-shirt with my artwork (WHICH WAS COMISSIONED), I know I'm not a popular artist at all, but there are a bunch of other products with some arts on them. So if you're an author of those you should strike him as well. (Examples below)
I found three of them in toastingpencils37's second post! (Sorry for tagging)
The first one belongs to @gentleroy (Bumblebee)
Three belongs to @emberfriday
Four and six belong to @xpurplepiex
Stilling finding out who the rest are, but I'll work on updating this soon
Normally I'm pretty chill, but I found someone trying to claim others art as their own, please help me find the og artists so they can get this person permanently banned or smth!
Really disappointed honestly
YOUR ART AND IMAGES ON TUMBLR ARE BEING USED TO TRAIN AI MODELS.
The opt-in is automatic, but you can turn it off in settings.
Go to "Blog Settings" -> "Visibility" -> "Third-Party Sharing" and turn on "Prevent third-party sharing for [blog]". (This post shows how to do it on browser and on mobile.) You need to do this with every sideblog. (Note: The option in settings might not appear if your app hasn't updated yet. You can still opt out via browser.)
I’ll put out a plea…
I would like to ask any artist who sees this: Please, if you don’t already put your username on your artwork, PLEASE, start putting your username on your artwork. It’s not ugly, it’s not a distraction from your beautiful work. You deserve credit.
Write it next to the character, get creative and put it in the background as part of the visual, throw it on the left side of the image, avoid the bottoms and tops of the image though as those are easily cut off.
MAKE IT ANNOYING TO EDIT IT OUT.
PLEASE.
MAKE IT BIG.
MAKE IT FLASHY.
MAKE IT PART OF YOUR ART.
And please block any art thieves. Report them if they steal your stuff, tell people whose stuff has been stolen. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT. Don’t let people trick you into thinking you have no right just because it’s fanart. YOU DO. IT’S YOUR ART.
hey please don't trace & credit the actual artist thank you
Day 6 of drawing for 30 days
Day Six: Lady Nagant (My Hero Academia)
Hey Disco fanartists
I found a few shops on redbubble selling stolen disco elysium fanart
If you want to find out if your art has been stolen too (and maybe report it), these are the shops I'm talking about:
LivedIn
smashtransitco
smashtransi
I was on YouTube short, where this add came up. This add took your tiktok and is claiming your shimeji is in it apps @bambitek . I wanted to inform you and other to not download this app.
update: I’ve received an email from Redbubble stating that the product has been removed for now, though apparently they can submit a “counterclaim”. But since they’re blatantly stealing, hopefully they won’t want to drag this mess even further.
So i just found my work being stolen and sold on Redbubble by this user called Neko Noelle.
Oh, the thief is also selling works by other artists but I don’t recognize a lot of them….plus a deathnote journal where they literally ripped off the death note logo….=_=;;.
Also, Please note that I do NOT sell my work anywhere at all (except maybe really old ones on my deviantart. but nothing new in the last 2 years).
PSA A BRAND CALLED WILDBERRIES IS STEALING MY ART PLEASE DO NOT BUY THOSE PINNS
In did not consent nor give permission
They stole my art and are proffering off of it
And the worst thing as a small artist I can’t do anything about it.
I've avoided publicly addressing this but I've been having my work traced and redistributed for months. Even after trying to resolve this in private, I was told that the user would stop only to find more instances of the same behavior persisting. I feel like the only thing I can do at this point is to ask others to not support this individual in the future.
Please avoid commissioning/buying designs from/working on projects with the user melkquette/melkquett3/melkqtt.
Below are examples of my work overlaid the art that they uploaded. Please note that these aren't all of the examples but a select few where it's clearer to see.
In November I found their commissions page advertising their artwork using traced pieces of mine. Many of these were uploaded throughout their social media accounts with captions stating that they were created for other users. I also found traced art as part of larger collaborative projects like games or being sold as adopts. I don't allow people to trace and upload my personal artwork, so I emailed Melkquette about this matter hoping to solve this in private.
Melkquette stated that they stopped using my art months ago and weren't able to update their pages since they were offline, but intended to take responsibility.
In that same email, Melkquette wrote this would stop, though they also denied directly using my artwork for projects/commissions and stated they only referenced.
When I pointed out that this was untrue based on the examples provided in our emails, I didn't receive a reply.
For additional context, the assets below were intended for a visual novel project as character visuals, traced over my art. The screenshot was provided from a project development Discord and directly contradicts the idea that unoriginal assets wouldn't be produced/were never produced. This same example was also shown in my initial email where I requested they stop.
Despite responding untruthfully, I was willing to accept Melkquette removing the uploads and no longer using my art as the solution. Most of the posts were taken down with a few exceptions, and they deleted their commission information page that held many of the stolen artwork as samples.
However, I later found this piece was uploaded in January this year, around two months after I privately requested for the misuse of my work to cease. This was created for another user who was not told that this artwork was traced.
Since then I've found additional pieces that were traced from different sources. Upon identifying the originals, any artists I found were privately contacted about this matter. But it also shows that if not using my work, Melkquette continued using the art of others and didn't care to remedy the core issue at hand.
Recently, Melkquette remade their commissions page with a new set of examples that still includes traced work. Note that this user previously stated that they haven't had the opportunity to update their pages due to being inactive after being caught in November, but this is a newly created webpage that's still advertising their work using mine.
I've been told by different users that even though they recognized my style within these uploads, the use of my older personal art to Frankenstein these pieces made it harder to identify that it was traced at all. As a result, there's been a demand for their commissions based on the idea that their art simply resembles mine when that isn't true. I've had to send tickets to take down uploads of this kind of work, and it's unfortunate that others have been spending their hard-earned money on commissions of their characters/ideas only for the art they get to be unauthorized.
I produce much of my art for clients and friends. By allowing this to continue, it disrespects the third parties who own the characters in the original work. Having to tell strangers to take down unauthorized tracing also brings additional people into a problem they didn't ask to be part of in the first place.
I don't want anyone to harass this user, which is why I'm electing to only post this on the smallest platform I have.
If I can't be respected and they won't hold themself to using original work, I'm hoping that this is substantial enough evidence to dissuade anyone from working with them. I only want people to be aware and to lower the demand so that this happens less - that's all.
Please if you can help these two lovely people and report these pieces of art or ask kindly of they could take it down. Please do not send any hate messages or anything that goes along that category…
Stealing someone else hard work is not acceptable and nither is posting ones art on a another site without any premission and is highly disrespectful to do so and sometimes its the main reason why some artists watermark on their art so that someone else does not take and claim the art is theirs and even sometimes few people try to get rid of the watermark and are either successful or not successful but if they are successful they usually get caught in the end…
I know quite a few people that I do follow have had their art stolen, trased, etc and even one of my favourite people had their webcomic put entirely on another site in which someone notified them and they were not pleased…
All I ask is do not steal others art work and either claim it as yours or put it on another site without premission and to respect the artist decisions and requests…
… So uh, someone wanna help me to take this down?
These are commissions/request done from @jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear’s character, and knowing someone taking away someone’s hard work and paid work just for their fun isn’t okay.
Please reblog, or try to report these if you can.
hey guys! a little PSA:
someone reposted my art to deviantart without asking for permission or crediting me :(
if you see this post there, it wasn’t me!! i don’t currently have any posts on deviantart and i only made an account to report this one.
the account that reposted my art is @/ironymfah and they’ve also reposted other people’s art from lots of fandoms including undertale, deltarune, FNAF, and dark souls. clearly they’re all stolen since every piece is in a wildly different style.
i’m not sure what to do except report them and hope for the best. and i’m not really sure how often this happens on platforms i’m not active on, like deviantart, but lots of thanks to @7kaat7 for pointing this out to me.
This isn’t hard. Don’t steal people’s art. If you wouldn’t delete someone else’s video game save files, why would you take credit for someone else’s hard work and care??
@beetlecrest made a gorgeous piece of art of Crosshair and Mayday (artwork) except someone by the name @the-legend-of-mr-rager on here has modified it slightly (Crosshair's hair has been smoothed out for example) and shared it with absolutely no credit to the actual creator.
So go and give Beetle's artwork some love because stealing people's work is a shitty thing to do and they don't deserve it. 🩵
if ur a pixel artist or u use instagram please be wary of this account @pixel___art__._
they’ve not only stolen pixel art from a LOT of artist (including myself and @waneella) but they’re claiming to be the artist behind the artwork. it’s just so wildly cringe lmfaooo but please block them so you don’t accidentally interact with this account, thank you!! 🖤
All art is derivative. Yes, there should be protections of the rights of artists that their work can't be used in databases of AI art without consent. And yes AI does not consciously create art. In that sense, it is a tool for creating art. I don't see why these things make AI art inherently wrong or anyone using them wrong. By the way, I have only ever shared AI art with a small number of friends and only from programs I trust to be using public domain datasets You shouldn't paint everyone using AI for art with the same brush.
Why am I opposed to Stable Diffusion and AI Art in its current incarnation:
Some people seem to believe AI can “learn” art. Like it learns the concepts of perspective, value, anatomy, colour etc. through images and then recreates art based on this knowledge.
This is a misconception.
An AI doesn’t “know” things. It has no concept for artistic fundamentals. It just learns associations based on the data it’s given in a way that’s completely , vastly different to the way a human brain does. An AI can only recreate based on known image data. Those recreations can be blended in a very complex way, but they will ALWAYS be derived directly from image data it’s trained on.
A human can take a paint-bucket, and throw it at a canvas, and then mush paint around with their fingers. An AI can’t do that; it can only blend image data that best fits “canvas with messy splashed paint”. It will pull from all the image data it’s categorized with “canvas”, “splash”, “paint”, etc. and then blend them by placing datapoints next to other datapoints that it has “learned” will most suitably go next to each other.
Human learning creates complex conceptual structures. Our concept of an “apple” may contain many elements such as the colour red, how heavy it is, its overall form, how you hold it, and what it tastes like. An AI’s concept of an “apple” is whatever images it associates with the word “apple” based on text cues in its training.
When you tell it to paint “a hand holding an apple”, it will recreate and blend many images of hands with many images of apples in a way that best fit each other depending on weights defined by the data its analyzed.
Any presumption that AI can “learn” art theory and then make art through its knowledge of this is incorrect, and would require a level of general AI intelligence we are nowhere near capable of building yet, and we won’t with our current models because they are not creating actual epistemology, merely datapoint-based imitation without actual integration or understanding.
But the bottom line? All AI art is derivative and, unless it was trained exclusively on works in the public domain, there is definitely a case to argue that the companies creating these algorithms are violating the copyright of the artists whose works they are using without there first being a contract, agreement, or royalties (which is the thing these companies are trying to weasel out of by creating these AIs in the first place.) There is a reason why Clip Studio Paint, the latest of money-chasers jumping aboard the Stable Diffusion pony, issued out a warning that states, verbatim, “we cannot guarantee that images generated by the current model will not infringe on the rights of others.“
They know. They just don’t care- and everyone who ‘creates’ AI art is a willing participant in the infringing of copyright of millions of artists who never gave consent to have their works used in this fashion.
DISNEY HAVE STOLEN MY ARTWORK
I don’t know what to do. I am so upset. Can anyone help me?
My painting was created back in 2010, (see it HERE) and since then so many people have expressed their love for it, not just on tumblr, but in many places. At least 9 people had it tattooed on their bodies. It’s one of my favourite images I created at University and I was proud of it in many ways.
Disney have used it on a cosmetics bag HERE (look at the back) and they have produced a Tshirt HERE with a really similar design clearly modeled from my painting
I’m so mad because I have no chance at getting Disney to do anything about it. I had so much respect for the company and now I am just SO upset and disappointed.
Any help, advice or signal boosting would be amazing. And thank you so much to the kind person who messaged me about this.
making a big post abt this actually
ive gone out of my way to notify a few of the people who's art has been stolen, but im only one person and can only do so much.
i will reblog this post with a link to the profile as well as a link on where to find takedown reports.
this is not a fnaf specific issue, there are numerous other medias that have had fanart stolen and uploaded to this account.
Art theft has always been bad, but I feel like the way tiktok promotes remixing other people’s content into “your own” has ESPECIALLY proliferated the idea that, if something is on the internet, it’s anyone’s to take.
like. My friend just found these comments on a tiktok someone made of their comic:
This is why I don’t allow reposts. Because even if I give one person permission, even if they credit me and do everything I ask, you never know who is going to steal it from them.
So here’s your reminder:
If you see fanart or a fancomic you like, you ABSOLUTELY MAY NOT share it without checking if it’s ok first.
IF YOU RUN A FAN ACCOUNT. I’M LOOKING AT YOU. YOU’RE NOT HELPING ‘EXPOSE’ ARTISTS BY POSTING STOLEN ART YOU’RE JUST BEING SELFISH AND DISRESPECTFUL. @‘ING ME ON INSTAGRAM ISN’T GOING TO FIX THE FACT THAT YOU DIDN’T ASK PERMISSION
THIS GOES FOR TRANSLATIONS. I UNDERSTAND WANTING TO MAKE A COMIC MORE ACCESSIBLE TO YOUR LANGUAGE, BUT IT’S STILL A CONCERN THAT IT WILL GET STOLEN FROM YOU (and I KNOW some people don’t ACTUALLY care about it being more accessible, because I’ve asked people to reblog my original post with a translated transcription and they threw a fit because they obviously just wanted the views for their own page)
Comic dubbers are also not exempt from needing to ask for permission. I know there’s a lot of editing and you are technically producing new content, but jfc you still need to ASK TO USE SOMEONE’S ART. ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE MONETIZING YOUR PAGE.
I also DO NOT CARE if your pinterest page is “just for your personal reference” STOP UPLOADING ARTWORK AS ORIGINAL POSTS. IF YOU MUST PIN ART, JUST POST THE LINK!!!! I die a little inside every time someone says they saw one of my comics on pinterest and had a hard time finding my actual post.
Why is it important that artists stay credited? Well, I for one, am about to start my junior year of my BFA, and I won’t be able to work my part-time job anymore. My art is going to be only source of income. Every time someone reposts my art without credit, that’s more people that won’t find the link to my store. That’s potential job recruiters that won’t find my portfolio. That’s work that I’ve done that someone else is getting activity for, potentially even making money off of.
Please, PLEASE be aware of art theft. Point it out when you see it. Please understand most artists see it as offensive and disrespectful and are not flattered by it.
There is a tumblr by the name of sahaweattsteh that has reposted several TMNT artists' art with zero credit to the original artists. They even copied the tags and text of the post, cutting it off with a link to a random website. I already warned a few of these artists, @indieyuugure @dysfunctional-doodle @sweeneydino and @tangledinink, so if anyone recognizes the other art, please inform the artists. In the meantime, report and block the reposter so your art doesn't get stolen too.
Aparently some of my stuff is on here too? I urge anyone who does art to check this site, this is some grade A bullshit right here
Saw this post by rosebloom-arts and decided to check it out. Turns out she is not the only person suffering from art theft by this website, making profit from printing posters of peoples artwork without any premission whatsoever.
I saw i lot of artworks including my own and from a lot of other people!
This is the website. If you search you name you will find some of your artworks they are using. And here is the petition to end this website.
This is affecting a lot of people, not just myself and if you are an artist either by photography or drawing they are most likely stealing from you too.
So check it out and sign the petition, please.
@r1leythev4mp-deactivated2024061 has been stealing my art and claiming it as their own. i have the speedpaints. they forced me to put their watermark on my own drawings so that they could post it on their own account. they have been doing this ever since we first met, and i left them off the hook because they were one of my best friends, but it still made me uncomfortable… whenever i refused, they would threaten to spread rumors so that i had no choice— i would submit screenshots, but riley has already blocked me & unfriended me(???) on tumblr and messenger (the only apps we had contact on)
(this is only one of the speedpaints, i have more but i cannot upload them due to the limit feature)
i will upload all of the artworks that they “drew,”
