anarchists are, I think, my least favourite type of political extremist because they’re just so annoyingly convinced of their own utopianness.
like, there have been a lot of absolutely vile ideologies and states through history. empires. monarchies. dictatorships both red and brown. theocracies. but at least they all have like. a coherent idea of how the world works and the realities of power and real political theory and actual successful (in some form) societies that they can look back on. and for the most part they recognize that those societies were not perfect utopias, but are able to argue that their actions had some purpose beyond simple malice. to put it another way all these ideologies have some idea of the social contract and the greater good and realpolitik. some liberties have to be given up. some people have to be hurt or killed. some morally repugnant things have to be done so that most people can go on living a relatively good life.
whereas anarchists are just like “everyone will be nice to each other 🥰🥰🥰 and we’ll all share everything and everyone will be happy 😊🥰😌 and all the problems in the world will just be fixed ❤️🥰🤗🤗 no law or justice? that’s ok! no one will commit crimes 😇😊☺️ no international trade? that’s ok! we’ll return to an agrarian society, those are always good 🥰😌😁 no central authority to stop anti-anarchists from seizing power and reverting the whole thing? that’s ok! they just won’t 🤗🫠🤭”
Anarchists of all types ( except SOME ), would you please tell me the easiest way to be acquainted with your specific ideology.
no matter the outcome of this election: organize, build local community, build strength in masses. elections aren't the only time politics happen, it also happens on the streets, in the community and by mutually supporting each other.
the way forward is together. we build power from the ground up. in the US and everywhere else in the world.
a better world is possible and we can start building it now, by ourselves. anarchism starts in the now.
hack the planet
also, i know we all started as baby pirates yadda yadda but i think we should all stop to hammer in the fact that maybe openly sharing piracy resources on an app that is widely known to be under heavy surveillance is not the best idea if we want our resources to survive. i can only imagine how hyped the kiddies on tiktok were to share this brilliant new resource with the community and it's entirely due to the fact that companies and the government succeed in making us forget the fact that EVERYTHING we post on major social media is under surveillance. first and foremost, before you share piracy resources with a new crowd, hammer in the fact that sharing these resources openly and publicly is absolutely not a good idea in the capitalist age of surveillance.
someone in the UK threw eggs at Charles and was arrested and has been banned from openly carrying eggs in public and has since been sent death threats but their statement on the matter was so fucking good

I was walking home today, and I walked by a bulletin board, it had all sorts of presidential election posters, some torn some not, and a big anarchy symbol spray painted on top. Probs the most dope thing I saw for a while
