I'm still taking a break from most work on Llyfr Enfys for the remainder of the month due to health issues - but I've teamed up with The GNC Network to publish another chapter from my dissertation on their carrd (link in their Instagram bio @transgnc_network_official). Fabric painting tests

I'm publishing my first poetry chapbook, Poems for Justice!

I've been writing poetry in the English langauge since I was in high school. As of late, I have begun writing my first Welsh langauge poetry as well. This bilingual chapbook is the result!

Welsh Gender Neutral Terms Tournament #4 - Grandparent(s)

Following on from this post I made yesterday, in which I listed some possible gender neutral Welsh terms for family brainstormed in the discord, I'm going to make a series of polls to find out which terms people prefer for each concept. (Neutral) Niece/Nephew:

(There is no gender neutral equivalent in English, though some use Nibling for this. Nibling was apparently coined in 1951!)

Naith f. - Niece/Nephew - “Bydd eich naith yn gwisgo'r siwt las” (Your nibling will wear the blue suit)

[‘nith’ (niece) + ‘nai’ (nephew) ]

Naib f. - Niece/Nephew - "Pryd mae eich naib yn cyrraedd?" (When is your nibling arriving?)

Ŵyr(ion) m. - "Oes gennych chi unrhyw wyrion?" (Do you have any grandchildren?)

[‘ŵyr’ (grandson) normally, but may be used irrespective of gender in a similar fashion to the modern usage of terms like ‘ysgrifennwr’ (writer) over older terms like ‘ysgrifenyddes’ (female writer) ]

Other (I did not feel that wyrion could be improved upon, hence no alternate version here)

Today's book is 'GENDERqUEER' edited by Joan Nestle, Clare Howell and Riki Wilchins, published in 2002.

This book is a collection of genderqueer essays. Genderqueer was used in the 1990s and 2000s to mean anyone crossing gender norms - cisgender or transgender, butch or femme, male or female, binary or nonbinary - both, or neither. Lately, the term has come to mean just nonbinary, but the term is actually a huge umbrella. The essays describe female-to-male transition, lesbian sex, butch women, first gay sex, gender dysphoria and so on

. This book is very important to me - I'm a trans man and genderqueer myself!

Sumae! It's finally April at long last

I'm recovering well from my leg injury and I was able to send off a few outstanding orders today. If you're still waiting for an order to be shipped, I will be shipping them asap after I've gotten some new stamps (the ones on these orders were my last ones left over from Christmas!)

I also have my new print designs based on my work for the Tir Cwiar exhibition to upload to my shop - so keep an eye out for those when I finally get them up 😅 ('tis a process indeed! But they will be up soon I promise).
