She said in between scorching yet tender kisses. After all, there was still that utterly sizzling tension as well as the hint of something more.

Whatever would happen, she’d take it in her stride but there was something more than just a little obvious.

She hadn’t felt that little skip in her heartbeat for a long time. And it was all down to Rico.

-≡[ ☄ ]≡- "Then why don't you stay with me, hm?" His words were spoken against her lips; he couldn't bring himself to pull away from her. Although her shift was just about over, even those last thirty minutes were too long to bear. This moment was too precious to be over so soon.

Their lips were locked once more. With hands slowly traveling down her body to rest at her waist, he found himself taking a step forward, pinning her against the wall. -≡[ ☄ ]≡-

Pari looked up, having a quiet moment alone outside of the dive bar. It was a voice that she never thought she’d hear again, but if course Rico was made of stronger stuff.

And of course, Pari was just as drawn to them as ever.

“Holy shit.. you’re back! I mean.. I always hoped you would have been. Shit.. I missed you, Rico.”

There was a very soft smile on her face, although her green eyes were alight with happiness.

“I wouldn’t mind if you wanted to stay with me.. no pressure though.”

-≡[ ☄ ]≡- Truth be told, he hadn't expected to make his way back to this town. His was a free spirit, not prone to staying in one place or making deliberate returns. But there was something captivating about the young woman next to him. It beckoned him back after a rather long job spent in the hot jungle. He couldn't quite let Pari go like he had with others before her.

He rested his shoulder on the wall beside her. He could feel her giddiness and couldn't help but smile. "I missed you too," there was a light chuckle, surprise at his own admittance. "How have things been?" He leaned in a little bit closer to her. -≡[ ☄ ]≡-

-≡[ ☄ ]≡- The day had been far too long. Nothing but dead ends at every turn. Surely there was some small detail he was missing, but whatever it was, was damned elusive. Pouring over research he'd been examining for days already for any longer wasn't going to get him anywhere tonight. And that meant it was time to hit up one of the local bars to grab a drink and let his mind relax.

He walked into the establishment and approached the bar. It was fairly busy, but that's to be expected on a weekend. While he waited for his drink, he noticed a comely stranger beside him and gave a wink with a charming smile. -≡[ ☄ ]≡-
