As if Rico hadn’t already drawn her in enough.

Just the anticipation of him getting closer when talking to her made her feel all kinds of giddy. But she found herself looking up, letting out a sigh.

“I get it, sweetheart. I completely understand but I can imagine you would have been relentless. So how do you suppose you’re going to spend your downtime, Rico?”

-≡[ ☄ ]≡- "Well," he reached out with his free hand and gently glided it down her arm. "I was thinking about sticking around town for a bit; maybe we could get to know each other more." A tentative hand took hold of hers. His hesitation was not for a lack of confidence, but of caution. They liked it each other, it was clear, but he liked her too much to come on too strong. -≡[ ☄ ]≡-

Pari looked up, having a quiet moment alone outside of the dive bar. It was a voice that she never thought she’d hear again, but if course Rico was made of stronger stuff.

And of course, Pari was just as drawn to them as ever.

“Holy shit.. you’re back! I mean.. I always hoped you would have been. Shit.. I missed you, Rico.”

There was a very soft smile on her face, although her green eyes were alight with happiness.

“I wouldn’t mind if you wanted to stay with me.. no pressure though.”

-≡[ ☄ ]≡- Truth be told, he hadn't expected to make his way back to this town. His was a free spirit, not prone to staying in one place or making deliberate returns. But there was something captivating about the young woman next to him. It beckoned him back after a rather long job spent in the hot jungle. He couldn't quite let Pari go like he had with others before her.

He rested his shoulder on the wall beside her. He could feel her giddiness and couldn't help but smile. "I missed you too," there was a light chuckle, surprise at his own admittance. "How have things been?" He leaned in a little bit closer to her. -≡[ ☄ ]≡-

Everybody stop and look at the blurry beast that is my roommates' dog

You know, all this running around, surviving by the skin of our teeth… I don’t think we’ve actually taken a moment to step back and appreceate just how far we’ve come.

“Extremely boring without you around. Haven’t had anyone calling by and having you try and work your magic.”

Pari replied, still with as genuinely warm of a smile as ever. She wasn’t expecting him to return, nor would she have blamed him for not doing so. But there was also something she had found immensely captivating about the adventurer in turn.

Hell even hearing him say he’d missed her too was more than enough to make her blush.

“What about you? I bet you’ve been up to all sorts..”

She moved a little closer, but not too much.. yet.

-≡[ ☄ ]≡- Just that rosy tint to her cheeks was enough to rile him up. A charming smile on his face quickly turned to a mischievous grin. He leaned in even closer, voice hushed to draw her in. "You know how it is when work gets away from you. I hit so many dead ends, the pay barely even seemed worth it when I was done. I'm just glad to finally have some time to enjoy myself a while." His arm against the wall on moved to arch over her as he leaned. -≡[ ☄ ]≡-

And yet she had a hunch that Rico would be a lot more careful in that respect.

Although the way her face burned as he kissed her and came closer was clearly very obvious.

“Patience is a virtue, Rico. I know I’m having trouble having to hold on too.. but it won’t take long.”

And just like that, she went to close whatever distance was left and kissed Rico on the lips.

-≡[ ☄ ]≡- The moment her lips connected with his felt like a breath of fresh air. His heart was aflutter. This was a new sensation. Desire and lust were close friends of his, but this time there was something more: a panging in his chest. Perhaps he might like to explore these feelings more, but there were more pressing matters at hand.

His hands gravitated to her face, cupping her cheeks gently. "I am not a virtuous man," he uttered, voice low, before pulling her back in for another kiss. -≡[ ☄ ]≡-
