I stopped investing myself in the kpop scenery after Jonghyun's passing so I was pondering about writing about Sulli since the news came, and I still don't know if I should.

Jonghyun's passing was a great deal to me, I cried, I was triggered, and my mind was very unkind to me after it for a while. I was scared. And kpop became unbearable to me, I casually listen to some songs here and then but not as much or as frequently as I used to. I deleted all kpop from my music library and when I listen to it it's on YouTube cause I don't want spotify to start putting kpop everywhere on my tm.

I was never a big fan of f(x). I wasn't very aware of the group's story or its ups and downs but I enjoyed them. I always thought it was one of the best girl groups out there, so dynamic and talented. They were nice girls, very likeable. All of them. Luna was one of the best main vocals of the second generation, in my opinion. And they didn't go further because of SM's treatment and management... they could've been HUGE.

Im so sad to hear about Sulli. And I'm sorry for every fan out there that woke up to this news. Please take care of Korean idols, and mostly female ones, they get more hate than their male counterparts. They're hated for a bunch of reasons that male idols aren't, like being sexy, showing skin and being vocal.

That is what Sulli was, she was a quite vocal young woman in an extremely conservative, old fashioned and sexist country and industry. She was only 25.

Im tired of hearing of idols being mistreated and in poor health (both physically and mentally) because of the kpop industry. It doesn't matter what company they're from, all of them go through the same crap because this companies work towards commercialization and marketability according to the industry and the audience demands.

Groups from small companies are in far more precarious situations that the ones on the big three, don't get me wrong those three deserve every bit of criticism and accountability they get from us BUT "irrelevant" groups from small companies are treated WORSE. Most of them aren't paid at all and charged, instead, for their training, and they accumulate debts towards the company that they aren't capable of ever really paying because they keep taking dancing, singing and acting lessons that they're charged for and that they HAVE to take if they want to have a minimal chance at debuting, and if they have already debuted they don't get paid until they've settled their debt. And because the company is small and they have no resources or money, sometimes, sasaengs "sponsor" them in exchange of information and actual dates with the idols, that they can't refuse because of the company and their contracts (because of this contracts they can't leave, unless they pay the debt fully), exposing themselves to dangerous scenarios, and this sponsorship is added to the debt.

The reason I'm saying all of this is because I want you all to realize and acknowledge how f*cked up the kpop industry is and how much we, as international fans, need to care and take care of them and demand a change in how this gets down.

I want you to be conscious of how many idols are in this situation but we don't hear of it because they're irrelevant or simply because theyre not on the infamous big three. The big three are not trash, is the whole industry. Many young girls and boys feel like Sulli and have made radical decisions because of their situation.

If you're a kpop fan PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE care about what goes behind close doors. Care about your idols. START CARING AND DEMANDING BETTER TREATMENT OF THE ARTISTS YOU CLAIM TO SUPPORT AND LOVE.

P.S. Hara attempted suicide too not so long ago, so I can only imagine what she must be going through right now given that and the fact that she was close with Sulli, support Sulli's close friends in this time of need, please.

What I'm gonna write right now could be triggering for a lot of people so if you're sensible to gruesome stuff do not read - but if you read it I ask of you to help us by reblogging and sharing and supporting us on this fight against gender violence ♀️💚

Yesterday, a 25 year old girl named Ingrid Escamilla was murdered by Erick Francisco, her 45 year old boyfriend. He stabbed her on the throat with a kitchen knife, skinned her from the face to the knees, and removed her organs and discarded them by drainage - all of this while his 15 year old autistic son held witness of the atrocity. Erick confessed to Ingrid's murder and yet people on social media have been saying is her fault for dating a much older man, for being lazy and trying to get "a sugar daddy", for not taking care enough of herself. And if that wasn't enough, pictures of her corpse have been shared publically via social media, almost going viral 💔

What I'm Gonna Write Right Now Could Be Triggering For A Lot Of People So If You're Sensible To Gruesome

In the past few years mexico has had a feminist rise given that statistics show 10 women are killed every day in mexico city alone, 66 out of every 100 women suffer a form of gender violence in mexico, 1 in 5 complaints ends in conviction, 27.93% of pregnancies are from girls from 10 to 18, in 2019 there were 5350 feminicides and 7526 women were vanished from earth.

Women have marched, sang and danced, and vandalized monuments, and people got mad and said "we dont need feminism", "that's not how women should protest", "feminists are criminals", with a hashtag becoming really popular among women: "they dont represent me".

What I'm Gonna Write Right Now Could Be Triggering For A Lot Of People So If You're Sensible To Gruesome
What I'm Gonna Write Right Now Could Be Triggering For A Lot Of People So If You're Sensible To Gruesome

Ingrid was one of them, tweeting in March "feminism has to end if your best argument is that (we need it) because we are women, WE ARE PEOPLE and your life is not more important than a man's life stupid beast"

What I'm Gonna Write Right Now Could Be Triggering For A Lot Of People So If You're Sensible To Gruesome

Yet, the feminists are fighting for her killer to be convicted and for it to be classified as a feminicide - the reason I'm telling you this is because I hope you'll realize that feminists fight for you and are your best friends. The best support system you could have.

But HERE is the reason I call for your support - the president has proposed to eradicate the term feminicide while stating: "I dont want feminicides to overshadow the presidential raffle". 🎫

What I'm Gonna Write Right Now Could Be Triggering For A Lot Of People So If You're Sensible To Gruesome

If you're not from Mexico you wont know that the president promised during his campaign to sell and not use the presidential airplane. However he was "unable" to sell it and hes planning to raffle it amongst the mexican people, each ticket to enter the raffle costs $500 pesos - which is a lot. And it has been implied that people wont be given the plane but a prize in cash that's not even a 100th part of what the plane is worth. ✈

We cant allow our president to eradicate the term feminicide. We just can't. Itll make things worst for the victims and every single woman in mexico. This is a great act of violence towards women and it's coming from the most powerful person in our country, please spread the word about what he wants to do to us. 🤮🤢

Disabled Person: I can’t do this.

Ableist: Yes you can. Quit using your disability as an excuse. The only disability in life is a bad attitude.

Disabled Person: I can do this.

Ableist: Then you’re not really disabled. You’re just faking, which is offensive to actual disabled people.

Sorority and Feminism

Sorority, sisterhood and girl gang support are elements of feminism.

It is often said becoming a feminist is joining a sorority. Which is kinda true - but what is a sorority?

Sororities are values based social organizations that are founded to provide women a safe space to gather and share, this groups are often-times women exclusive and provide intellectual and social connections amongst women to form strong bonds, gain meaningful lifelong friendships, develop leadership and professional skills and be a part of something bigger than themselves.

So yes, feminism could be described as a type of sorority, if you will.

The problem is when radical new feminists think being part of the feminist movement and embracing sisterhood and the whole "dont tear each other down" is the same as "do not ever question anything a fellow female does or says".

It's important to call out ignorant, problematic, bad, bigot and poor in taste behaviour - it doesnt matter who it comes from. A woman, a man, or a nonbinary pal.

Being part of a sorority, specially in feminism, also means helping each other grow too, and more often than not that means calling out people. So please do, but be respectful and assertive, not hostile and aggressive.

Also, if you're a feminist, dont be afraid to be wrong. We're all unlearning a belief system. We all have internalized misogyny because we all grew up in a patriarchal society and feminism is about growing and healing, and none of those are a linear process. You are allowed to be wrong, and mess up, but fellow feminists may and will call you out on it (as long as they do so with respect and tolerance), take it as an opportunity for growth for you - it's okay to acknowledge your mistakes. It's a very healthy thing to do.

Girls support girls and empowered women empower women does not mean turning a blind eye to women in the wrong - or supporting women blindly. This things do not cancel critical thinking. This means to stop actively participating in the patriarchy's way of diminishing women and piting them against each other. Like, who wore it better or when it was heavily implied by every male critic that if wonder woman failed (was bad) it was proof of how women aren't meant to be superheroes in big franchises even though there have been male centered superhero franchises that have flopped and they get the chance to keep trying. It means to stop calling each other sluts, and bitches and stop falling for the patriarchy's trap of "not being like other girls", to stop judging your fellow sisters for doing or saying things you wouldn't judge a man for, to acknowledge that women should have agency over their lives and bodies to make their own decisions, even if those decisions are not ones you would not make yourself. It means to support other women in life and have each other backs in our fight against an oppressive system.

Feminism fights to destroy and change all the perceptions about women (and men) that are harmful - including that women dont rape, are abusers, or kill (they are rarely the perpetrators, but it happens). Seeing feminists defend Amber Heard or JK Rowling because "shes a woman and feminism is for women" are one of the worst portrayal of feminism today.

Feminism does not mean supporting every single woman just because they're a woman. Don't be toxic on your feminism.

Just saying but the negative aspects of capitalism is literally what is holding the world back from being sustainable. The only reason we don’t have safe drinking water, shelter, food, medicine, education, and clean energy for every person on this earth is because it wouldn’t be profitable for the 0.1% of the world’s population whose entire income is based solely around limiting those resources for lower class and impoverished people.

“When I meet others like me I recognise the longing, the missing, the memory of ash on their faces. No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark”

tw: self harm

Amber Heard and her legal team played an audiotape of Johnny Depp expressing his desire to harm himself in the courtroom today, which caused Johnny to break down and cry on the stand. And while that’s sickening, here are some of the things I noticed from this:

Instead of helping him get the help he needed, she chose to record him when he was at his lowest point.

Her team did not ask a single question about the audiotape after they played it. They literally only made Johnny relive that moment of his life, left him crying on the stand knowing he legally cannot talk about it to anybody for 3 whole days.

The audiotape was about Johnny wanting to harm himself. Not her.

There was NO other reason for them to play that audiotape except their wanting to break him down, knowing they’ve screwed up. That’s a very low move even for AH. She’s still publicly abusing and gaslighting him. And you want me to believe she’s the victim????
