Being in a fandom means so much more than just reading fanfic and being a little over obsessive, the struggle is real, ya know? You spend long nights looking for good fanfics, you get lost in day dreams about your otps being real, and you hide your screen when unexpected smut shows up, and these are just a few problems we face! We need more love.

Being a fangirl means you love fictional characters but you love them with someone else more.

Being a fangirl means you probably have incurable insomnia, hundreds if not thousands of fanfics you want to read but don’t know the name so they’re practically lost, and you’re often viewed as crazy (by yourself or others) because of the inhuman noises you make.

T'challa: What would your villain name be?

Natasha: The Red Death.

Steve: Captain Hydra.

Carol: Vers.

Tony: The Suspense.

All of them:

Tony: Because then my victims would be like, "Oh no! The Suspense is killing me!" and we'd laugh together.

Tony: Then I would kill them.

love those book series that are like

1st book: Hero goes on a big adventure, makes a bunch of friends, and saves the day!

Latest book: Hero copes with debilitating PTSD while growing increasingly disenchanted with the moral dubiety of the people and world around them, yet nevertheless still strives towards a heroic ideal.

Petition to give Mendigo a hug.

In the series Fablehaven, there is not one scene where the limberjack, Mendigo, is given a hug.

One like = one hug for Mendigo

One reblog = more likes = more hugs for Mendigo.

Please, Mendigo deserves the hugs. He is a good boy.

The Fablehaven series should be made into a movie series

Including Dragonwatch, that is. People are still looking for the next Harry Potter. Fablehaven has the potential. It still deals with magic and mythical creatures and, not to mention, family friendly (for the most part). The characters are interesting, relatable, and definitely not 2D. The books teach lessons while still having plenty of jokes to entertain. Of course, having the movie series turn out to be like The Percy Jackson series would just be insulting. This series deserves a chance.

Have you ever been apart of a small fandom and just wanted to scream about how amazing it is and everyone should read/watch it? No, just me.

WHY EVERY WRITER SHOULD READ FABLEHAVEN

It’s not because the writing is flawless because, let’s face it, Mull is wonderful at many things but he has no voice or style.

BUT

EVERY. WRITER. CAN. LEARN. FROM. HIS. VILLAINS.

Name one perfect villain. Voldemort? His weakness was arrogance and also breakable items. Galbatorix? Boring. The Ring of Sauron? Is that even a thing? Idk but it’s boring as well. Darth Vader?? Wasn’t he actually a good guy gone wrong? Idk guys I don’t watch these movies sorry.

BUT THE SPHINX

Fucking flawless villain.

He plotted and schemed for millenia. Literally. He was patient and cunning and always about fifty steps ahead of his enemies. He had no weaknesses.

Best of all, his ultimate plan was not to rule the world or achieve immortality or whatever. It was just to make the world a better place, and honestly, it might have worked. He had a whole system set up in advance, he had everything prepared to control the demons. The scariest part? He was so NOT power hungry that he was 100% willing to put his plan down and walk away if the demons were not willing to cooperate. After /thousands/ of years of preparation, he was totally fine with doing that. Because he wasn’t crazy. He was totally logical, totally reasonable. It’s almost terrifying how cunning and intelligent he was.

And he didn’t even hold anything against his enemies. He respected them, he never underestimated them. He played to their strengths and weaknesses perfectly so he could get exactly what he needed from them. They didn’t even realize that they had. (*cough*the dragon betrayal*cough*) and he promised amnesty to them should his plan ever come to fruition. He wanted them on his side and he totally understood that they never would be.

In fact, the only thing that caused his downfall was something he would not have had an iota of control over. I don’t want to give too many spoilers because ~read the books~ but if it weren’t for a betrayal that he never could have seen coming because it was literally in the makings for longer than he’d been alive, his plan would have totally succeeded. He had ALL the cards and he didn’t let his guard down even then. And once the betrayal happened, he joined forces with his enemies to bring down the demons.

The good guys NEVER would have succeeded without the Sphinx.

That’s. What. Makes. Him. A. Perfect. Villain.

Turkish Delight?

Turkish Delight  Is there a thing you like, that you only know through a book or movie?

One of my absolute favorite book series is called The Codex Alera, by Jim Butcher. I feel like NO ONE knows about this series, because The Dresden Files (also amazing) overshadows it so much.

BUT YALL IT’S INCREDIBLE?! Think Avatar the Last Airbender but the bending force comes from elemental creatures, rather than the caster themselves? Also it’s based on a mash of the lost roman legion and pokemon so there’s that. But that description doesn’t do it justice because it’s one of the most epic, heart-wrenching, passionate, AMAZING stories I have ever read and one of these days I really need to do art for it.

Check it out for reals. Also HBO needs to pick it up and make a series holy smack

if you ever order multiple installments of a series (doesn’t have to be books but I feel like it’s especially true for books) and they don’t all ship together in the same package, it’s an unwritten rule of the universe that book #1 will arrive last

I Would Just Like To Immortalize This Right Here

I would just like to immortalize this right here

So after spending most of this afternoon and evening having been sucked down the rabbit hole that is TV Tropes, I found this SUPERB description of Jim Butchers Codex Alera series of books:

“Magical Roman Legionnaires straight out of Avatar: The Last Airbender versus the Zerg, wolfmen with Blood Magic, telepathic yetis and white-haired elves. Riding ground sloths and terror birds. Sometimes, the Legionnaires fight each other, too.“

Yup, just as awesome as that sounds ;)

Seriously Double Standards

If a female character is ambitious, she’s a crazy bitch.

If she’s multi-talented, she’s unrealistic.

If she’s emotional, she’s a softy.

If she’s not, she’s a monster.

If she’s strong, she’s a stereotype.

If she’s even a bit problematic, she’s evil.

If she’s beautiful/hot, she’s fanservice.

And male characters can be all of these things and the fanbase would still defend them to death because “OMG they are perfect how dare you attempt to call out my favorite character for their actions”.

REBLOG IF YOU ARE PART OF THE INHERITANCE CYCLE FANDOM

I’m just curious to see how many people are part of the fandom for the absolutely fantastic Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini.

unpopular opinion: the eragon books are unique and creative

like sure, they’re a bit derivative of Tolkien and the first book reads like it was written by a 16 year old, but they also have some absolutely fantastic and unique concepts and scenes that have stuck with me to this day, despite me having read them when I was 14 (okay yeah I’m affected by nostalgia but who cares?!?!) Like hear me out: Angela and her grumpy talking cat??? The little girl who Eragon accidentally curses to feel the pain of others?? Nasuada in the trial of the knives?? Safira crashing through the giant stained glass window?? Murtagh’s lengthy redemption arc??? THE FACT THAT THE ORCS ARE A WELL-DEVELOPED SPECIES and Eragon allies with them eventually?? The Heart of Hearts?? That scene where Eragon forges his sword?? Eragon’s cousin becoming a war general?? The entirety of the dragonriders??? Have I mentioned Nasuada and Murtagh who are still some of my favorite characters from literature??? So. Fucking. Great. And Unique. The Inheritance Cycle doesn’t deserve the hate it gets and I will absolutely fight you over this.

Rise Dragon Riders

I need to know that the Inheritance Cycle fandom is not dead yet. Please reblog so I can know that there are still people out there who remember and cherish these books. I CANNOT BE THE ONLY ONE LEFT

I’ve been thinking about a Avatar The Last Airbender/Servamp AU for a very long time now!!! But I put it off for many reasons–

Mostly cause poses and outfits designs are hard lol But also because I couldn’t decide which element would suit each character… some I knew for sure what I wanted, but others I liked multiple ideas! So I drew both concepts.

I can’t decide if I like Earthbender Freya or Kiyoshi Warrior better, Airbender Licht?? or Water Tribe Licht…and then Sakuya??? There’s several ideas there too. 😅 It’s been YEARS since I’ve seen ATLA. I slowly remembered a lot of things! It was quite nostalgic~ I’ll have to draw some actual fan art for it later!

I really just wanted to get the overall concept out of my system, it was so fun to do this!!! I was actually going to draw more characters and ideas, but maybe later lol this post got really large before I even knew it. I was actually going to make that comic longer too but HNNNGGH WORk–

Here’s a bonus doodle too, cause I just imagine so many scenarios and ideas omg:

Got to become the master of all 4 elements!!
