Just finished Wings of Starlight and FJSMXKSMDKSNDMNDNDKXMDMDMSKDKEJDKLAKWNDNWKEMFJSMRNFJWNRNFX
such a good read and so pretty and literally everything I’ve wanted since the age of 8 (9?) it had the right amount of romance and conflict and j LOVED IT
I’m convinced that Odysseus (Epic version, though OG version would probably have the same results) would adore Percy if they ever were to meet. It would take a minute (since Percy’s dad screwed Ody over) but Odysseus would be like: “I love this sassy child.” and he would like Annabeth even MORE because smarts.
Penelope would bake them cookies or something because if Odysseus is immortal (or something) of course his wifey is immortal too
Trollhunters Jim: I will willingly sacrifice my entire way of life by becoming half-troll because that’s what’s needed to save the world from Gunmar. Me remaining physically human isn’t worth the world being destroyed.
Wizards Jim: We have to go back to the future even though it’ll resume the corruption. What kind of hero would I be if I sacrificed everyone else for my own sake?
RotT Jim: HOOHOO HEEHEE LET’S RESET THE WHOLE TIMELINE CUZ I’M SAD
in 0.1 seconds i get the reference (probably because im a raggedy ann and andy fan)
What if, when everything is less fresh, a statue is built at the academy. The statue is of two young men, both facing slightly different directions, but with their heads turned to look up and forward, onto the future. One of the men looks forward in unconcealed hope, hope for the future and what is to come. The other is more revered, but the hunger for knowing the unknown is said to be more intense than the other’s.
Despite everything that had happened, the academy argued that these were the finest students that they ever had the pleasure of teaching. They were both undeniably the Men of Progress, looking to help build a better life, despite what it turned into, in the end. Because in all worlds and all realities, only they could build something up and destroy it together.
If you hear someone ugly sobbing that’s me
Do you ever watch a show or a movie or any piece of media meant for kids and just think about how the story or character or that one scene or whatever just spoke to your heart and soul, or just how profound it made you happy or break your heart. And just sit their thinking that this is for literal children, who probably still couldn't 100% understand the gravity of what they are consuming or probably couldn't articulate how they felt about it other than say they liked it or they dont, or it made them happy or sad, and you, a grown ass person is just thinking about how this thing meant for kids is just so simple yet complex with so many layers of emotions and plot and etc. That explores themes and subject better than media meant for your age, in a way that is simple yet incredible done.
How old do you guys think Odysseus is? I’m thinking at the beginning he’s 20 something because people did a lot of things younger (marriage, going to war, working) and when he goes back to Ithaca he’s like 40 or so or possibly 50
I just laughed as if I was crying [redraw]
If one of your family members brings a new friend/significant other, tell them your interests. Mention “I love this” and 90% percent of the time they’ll get it for you to get in your good graces and if they like you. ESPECIALLY if they’re planning on sticking around for a while. I did this and I have 1-9 of Spy X Family with a few extras so
(I got two from bro-in-law who got them from his friend, two from sister’s now ex, and the rest I got from the aforementioned friend cause he didn’t want them??? It’s freaking Spy X Family my dude)
