if theres a group thats all one gender we should just call the group by that gender. that would be funny, i think
what will happen if you put hotdog water in holy water
Hey guys?
actuall feminists have fought for tens of years to prove that women arent just their genitalia, but whoops! here comes tippity-top white woman and says "actually i prefer this", and tumbles the whole tower down significantly.
ok, for those of you who don't know, jk rowljng donated £70k to an organisation of Scottish women who wanted the legal definition of a woman to be based on biological sex alone in the uk. today they had this ruled for in court.
the legal definition of a woman in the uk is now based purely on biological sex, which will likely fuel the deconstruction of laws made to protect trans people and fuel new transphobic laws. we are still apparently protected from discrimination though.
the worst part of this is that news reports have been treating this as a good thing. jk rowling is painted as an amazing person in school assemblies. after doing not only what she does on twitter, but actively funding the discrimination of trans people.
i dont even know if theyre saying that as a buzzword, or just as an admittence to not seeing humans as humans, but as some product you need to transport
Just an extremely Normal thing to say
Reminder they want to increase the budget for ICE from 3.5 to 45 billion dollars.
Reminder the majority of that will be for building new detention centers.
Reminder ICE are *currently* detaining tourists who can pay for a plane ticket home and people with visa issues that were already resolved, because they have to make quota so Trump can brag about the numbers going up.
Reminder most of these people were already in the immigration system - that's why they were easy to detain.
Reminder this is all at taxpayer expense.
Reminder these are people.
adoption maybe? like im 90% sure my mom is some kind of aro/ace (she hasnt had a partner in like 10 years and isnt trying to) and shes done a bit of adoption help (was legal guardian of a teen until they turned 18, and still helps them from time-to-time)
Still, you dont have to have kids or be guardian to one to be "successfull" in life
listeria havin' a hell of a time, i wonder if thats whos been voting for trump
Headlines across eight years. Who you vote for really does matter. None of these headlines delve into the Boar's Head listeria outbreak because I can only post ten photos in one post. But the slaughter house self regulate headline? Yup, that's why.
1: this is the quantum network mainframe, its litterally fucking magic, it uses fucking mana, it also gives us futiristic laser beam guns
2: *voice like the "number 15; burger king foot lettuce"* this is the spooky scary creature 😦 , it has killed exactly 37 billion humans under testing alone, seeing it will cause a cognitohazard that will make you to shit yourself instantly because its so horrifying looking (its litterally just human looking but an inhuman shape)
3: ayyy its my boy bing bong the alien!! hows the kids been at planet zeep zorp?
all scifi falls into at least one of these categories, for example scp is 2 and MIB is 1 and 3
one thing to remember though: non-romantic and non-sexual love is still very important, just generally, wether thats from your mom or your dog
(i said non-sexual get your head out of the gutter)
this is the official amatonormativity hatepost.
i hate amatonormativity.
im very uncomfterble with eye contact, people not getting split focus, etc. like im responding to what youre saying, what else do you want??? like dissasociating happens way more if im trying to focus directly on someone, like the chance for not hearing is WAY higher
If you tell someone to "look at me when I'm talking to you", I instantly assume you're a bully toward autistic people, because you are.
Unless they're actively focused on something else, you can't accurately assume someone isn't listening just because of where they're looking.
It's not a sign of "disrespect" to not make eye contact. And if you were taught that it is, unlearn it.
sorry if this is rude, but what do you mean "body fluids", like sweat? because that one i guess is fine, but like i really hope you dont mean what you would guess "body fluids" means, like i just bounce my leg when im stimming, or like spin around a stick i found outside.
(and yes i understand in that one youre talking about like 5 year old autistic people, because those are the ones that would do that, and arent like really *severly* disabled. sorry that part just really caught me off-guard)
happy autism acceptance month. this month, regardless if you're abled or disabled, allistic or autistic, try to consider if you really do accept people with autism. all aspects of autism. people who:
without volume control
talk to themselves or make sounds (seemingly) at random
have huge screaming meltdowns
stim any way, including smearing body fluids
only talk about one subject and will never "move on"
stare inappropriately
struggle with personal hygiene
are unemployed
who left education early ("dropped out")
has a carer and will always need one
don't use mouth words to communicate
have comorbid intellectual disability and don't want to separate that from their autism
autism acceptance month can't truly be about acceptance if we don't broaden our understanding of autism and confront our internal biases. these things listen above are normal parts of autism. sometimes very common. there's stigma around them, but that's stigma we can actively fight.
i also HATE IT when people do quotes, parentheses, and emphises incorrectly "like: this"
i hate it when people are writing a long ass thing and start a parenthetical aside and forget to close parentheses it makes me feel like i cant escape from the sentence
idk i love seals and spheals. i want to become a zoologist, but i cant pronounce z, you zee my problem?
