Once in my dreams when I was sick with covid I died slowly and painfully in real time in my bed. I suffocated to death because my asthma and the congestion made it more and more difficult to breathe, and my limbs were too heavy to move. I cried out for help, but I didn’t have enough breath. The memories of that dream remain and haunt me to this day. I’ve had very few deaths in my dreams that felt so real. Sometimes I wonder if I really did die then, and the rest of this life is some odd dream or some bizarre quantum immortality situation.

So like I’m not sure if this actually happens that often but from what I remember, after plot important ally people die in JJBA, a lot of the time you can see their souls leaving their bodies as mist and fog, and sometimes they stick around for a lil bit as ghosts to lend out some advice/provide a bit of grief counciling. Bobby does both.

Speaking of, Bobby blows himself up knowing his life would otherwise be slow and lead to an empty death in order to further the journey of Mario and Bucciarati sacrifices his body knowing he was slowly dying in order to end Chariot Requiem and stop Diavolo from using the arrow, so they both sacrificed themselves for the greater good
