Ok so is this what Art meant when he said:
It's so easy to forget they were angry at each other sometimes, when they're looking at each other like that.
The Concert in Central Park, 19 September 1981
I met Paul in our school play, Alice in Wonderland. He was this funny guy who cracked me up all the time. We loved “Earth Angel” and we emulated the Everly Brothers. We would stare at each other’s mouths to copy each other’s diction. I would watch where the tongue hit the palate when Paul said a t. We would be nose to nose. When you’re very young, you’re insane. You’re a fanatic about your loves. The world hasn’t shown you how to corral the thing and be normal.
Just like how all of Paul Simon’s songs are about Art Garfunkel and if you think otherwise you’re not thinking hard enough
all my posts are about simon and garfunkel even when they seemingly have nothing to do with simon and garfunkel sometimes yr just not thinking hard enough sbout simon and garfunkel
Ok this and the fact that Paul looks at Art and then at the camera when he sings “we might as well be apart” in overs.
THIS IS WILLEM VAN GENK'S WIKIPEDIA PAGE
Simon and Garfunkel performing My Little Town on SNL in 1975.
Okay, can we please talk about how Song for the asking is literally written almost like a desperate love confession? It’s killing me like “Take it, don't turn away I've been waiting all my life” oh go to jail Paul Simon.
(Also, a bonus - this is a clip from the harmony game documentary where Paul and Art talk about this song. We’ve probably all seen it a million times but it never gets old 🤕)
They/themFor all things that make me smile :-)
