Thanks for sharing this @frederic-simon-and-ira-garfunkel. One of my favourite interviews because it’s so interesting to see Art’s perspective of things post breakup. This has to be one of my favourite parts - I few like it explains a lot about why Art’s attitude in interviews seems so odd sometimes.
Happy 54th birthday to the album that permanently altered my brain chemistry.

Art Garfunkel - Tokyo, August 1985
I met Paul in our school play, Alice in Wonderland. He was this funny guy who cracked me up all the time. We loved “Earth Angel” and we emulated the Everly Brothers. We would stare at each other’s mouths to copy each other’s diction. I would watch where the tongue hit the palate when Paul said a t. We would be nose to nose. When you’re very young, you’re insane. You’re a fanatic about your loves. The world hasn’t shown you how to corral the thing and be normal.
“we would isolate ourselves and sing to each other and watch each other’s mouth and tongue movements so we could synchronize our holy vibrations and ascend to the 8th astral plane of homosexuality” - art garfunkel discussing s&g’s creative process
