Oh my God... The Green stans really didn't understand the story of the dance and the characters of Aegon II and Rhaenyra ! đ
In the show, Aegon II does not take the throne to protect his family, but because he was forced to by Alicent. He has no interest in protecting his family, he even sought to flee Westeros in the first place, leaving his entire family behind.
In Fire and Blood, the idea that Aegon II took the throne solely for his family is just pro-Greens propaganda made by Maesters Eustace, easily spotted as false when we see Aegon II's behavior once he he has the crown on his head.
Rhaenyra, in the show, doesn't really want the crown, and primarily wants to protect the kingdom from the prophecy that essentially heralds the apocalypse.
Rhaenyra, in Fire and Blood, on the other hand, wants her crown and will fight for it, because... well it's her inheritance. She therefore has every right to claim it, knowing that in addition she was educated to fulfill this function of sovereign of Westeros, unlike Aegon II.
Rhaenyra, in Fire and Blood or HOTD is not the one who is power hungry.
At least not in the negative sense of the term, in relation to Fire and Blood (since in HOTD the women are pure innocents apparently not interested in power...) in a specific way (because once again, the crown belongs to Rhaenyra, it's not negative greed to want to keep and fight for what's yours, wanting power isn't inherently bad as far as it's concerned).
Because it is the Greens who embody this evil greed for power. It is already obvious from the color that represents this faction and the chaos that they cause and sow around them in this greed for the throne.
I made a new one
I'm tired of people saying that the Greens started the war for their own survival, all while insisting that they are talking about HOTD and not Fire and Blood, except that even in HOTD it is simply a matter of acidity of power and misogyny. Literally, Otto says it in episode 3. Gotta stop the bullshit after a while. And daring to say that Rhaenyra taking the throne doesn't help women in general in Westeros, when... well it does. Thatâs the point of a fucking precedent. Stop trying to twist everything to fit your bullshit logic. I'm tired of coming across arguments from Green stans.
Ik this isnât Norton related but itâs been on my mind so âŚ.
Hot take . I donât think Hotd should be having a season 3. After the abomination that was season 2 I donât think it shouldâve been renewed. I also feel that they have gone so off the point of the book ( yes I know itâs an adaptation and things can get changed but not at the detriment of the story ) also making it woke . Seriously like wtf why âŚ. It wasnât needed . Hot hot take they shouldâve gotten D & D to write it . At least it wouldâve been engaging and entertaining. None of this miscommunication or accident bs . The characters would be multifaceted . But no we got two incompetents who are writing their own bs lesbian fanfic đ¤Śđťââď¸now they gonna have daeron for what purpose honestly ? You ignored him season one ,was mentioned in season 2 , I mean one of his arcs canât even be used because no third child and honestly why bother their only gonna ruin as they have all the others . Itâs a waste âŚ
Rant over
Exclusive leaked hotd s3 footage of aegon and stormcloud escaping the gullet
Let's clear things up once and for all. The real canon is the books written by GRRM. George may have sold his soul to HBO, but HOTD is still nothing more than poorly written by Ryan and Sara fanfiction. The events that take place in the show are not truly canon. This is more like a filmed AU fanfic.
The real canon is:
Viserys loved Alicent.
Alicent and Rhaenyra were not friends.
Alicent was eighteen years old when she married Viserys. Viserys was not yet thirty at the time.
Helaena is not a dreamer.
Aegon the Usurper is not a depressed boy who was disliked by his parents.
Mysaria and Daemon had a child together who died before he was born.
Criston did not have sex with Rhaenyra or Alicent.
Laena was twenty-two years old when she married Daemon.
In order to become a dragon rider you need to have Valyrian blood in your veins.
Whether Daemon cheated on Rhaenyra or not, he never tried to usurp her or scheme behind her back.
Killing Luke and killing Jaehaerys were not misunderstandings or accidents.
When the war began, the people of the Riverlands immediately supported Rhaenyra, except for the Tully and Brackens. But the Tully were initially neutral, and then supported Rhaenyra, and the Brackens were looking for a reason to fight the Blackwoods.
Corlys eldest illegitimate son is Addam, not Alyn.
Vaemond is Corlys nephew, not his brother.
Rhaena Targaryen's dragon is the Morning, not the Sheepstealer.
Alys charms had no effect on Daemon.
Rhaenys Targaryen has black hair. Rhaenys was not present at the coronation of the Usurper, and she was the one who proposed to attack the capital with all the dragons that the Blacks have.
Daemon really killed Laenor.
After his wedding to Rhaenyra, Laenor lived almost all time in Driftmark.
Daenerys's dragon eggs were laid by Dreamfire, not Syrax.
The marriage of Laenor and Rhaenyra lasted six years, and Rhaenyra and Daemon ten years.
Daemon didn't kill Rhea.
Rhaenyra was never cheated on Daemon.
And as a special aside, Jaehaera Targaryen died before she was ten years old. She and Aegon III have no children together. And Daenerys Targaryen is not a descendant of Aegon III, but his younger brother Viserys II. I'm writing this because at least forty green fans of the show wrote to me who were smart enough to Google that the war would end with the marriage of Aegon and Jaehaera, but not smart enough to Google what would happen after.
Saying you hate team black because it has characters that do immoral things and then stanning team green and erasing Aegon being a rapist in your headcanons and fics is truly something, like how does cognitive dissonance not zap your brain every five seconds?
I love people who say that we romanticize and pedestal a groomer by talking about Daemon in relation to the fact that we ship Daemyra instead of Rhaenicent or Rhaesaria.
Basically ship Rhaenyra with two of the women who canonically ruined her life in Fire and Blood and who in HOTD, sorry Alicent isn't better and Mysaria... damn where did that shit even come from.
Because apparently it's more moral to ship Rhaenyra with her canonical abuser (Alicent) in HOTD and F&B, or to ship her in a relationship that makes no narrative sense in HOTD, Mysaria therefore, and which in Fire and Blold goes literally taking advantage of Rhaenyra's paranoia to do shit and make a mess of our queen's life.
Rather than with Daemon, her husband whom she loves and who is a healthy relationship in F&B, but somewhat problematic in HOTD, but not because of the character itself of Daemon with Rhaenyra, but because the writers love to write scenes abuse that comes out of nowhere too !
Why am I writing this ? I came across an indecent number of Rhaenicent fanarts and edits, not to mention the related posts which say again and again that Daemon is a groomer (HOTD or F&B) without obviously understanding the definition... My brain is bursting with force.
No hatred towards the artists and content creators for the edits because they have incredible talent. Simply, I need to express my incomprehension in the face of so much success in terms of shipping and especially the comments made on these ships.
Personally I donât know how people can think Rhaegar dying with Lyannaâs name is romantic (not confirmed canon btw only came from an app which GRRM does not back as canon) when he had a whole ass daughter hiding under his bed wishing he would save herâŚhe couldnât spare her a thought?
Evidence that the Greens intended to kill Rhaenyraâs children if Aegon became king:
1. Already murdered one child.
2. Called the murder of said child âa good startâ and threw a feast to celebrate.
Evidence that the Blacks intended to kill Alicentâs children if Rhaenyra became Queen:
1. Itâs a convenient hypothetical to excuse the Greens usurping the throne.
2. ???
